I WANT TO KILL MYSELF
Mercedes and people overrate this piece of junk. You seriously pay only for the star. THe day I bought the car, the cupholders would pop out, and the sign said "ACTIVE BODY CONTROL TOO LOW- SEE WORKSHOP!", okay. The next day, my front armrest wouldn't open (dealership wouldn't say anything), so I could not access my mercedes Motorola V60 phone. (they ended up damaging the leather, alas, they wouldn't fix it). I am now scared to turn on the car
Some-Cheap feeling to it...!!!
From a previous owner of S500 (1997), it feels like I am driving an old 740IL, they went cheap on the plastic as well as the wood. Doors are lighter and smaller back seat

My Mercedes-Benz
I nhave been driving it for about 2 weeks, but I love it. I have no problems and I have a lot of fun. I ecommend you buy it!
7 Years and no troubles
I adore my Mercedes. Bought it late 2001 till now, 2008, 7 years and the biggest thing done to it are new tires, besides that, completely reliable! It was a S430V (apparently according to the salesman it's better in some ways) with some lovely upgrades (bi-xenon headlights & washers, Nappa leather, wood & leather steering wheel and shift gate). The transmission is still silky smooth, and the air suspension has not failed once. The engine is not the most powerful but still quite nippy. In general; reliable, comfortable, and I absolutely adore it. Merc's dealer network is very friendly and helpful (at least at my dealer), but they charge you for every single little thing!
745i Has NOTHING on the S-Class
The 2002 S430 is by far the best luxury car we've ever owned. We had a 2000 740i for two years, and we were very disappointed with the new 7. The new 745 looks like a Dodge Stratus is about the most confusing car I've ever driven. The S-Class is a much better luxury car. It has a classy design, fabulous interior, and all the bells and whistles you would expect for 80K.
