The c 300 runs well and handles niclley on the rough New England roads. We have 27,000 on ours and it makes a thumping souond in the brakes now so it is going into the shop.

CPO C300 Broke Down on Test Drive

2011 Mercedes C300 VIN WDDGF5EB7AF442072 The car went into limp mode Traction Control failed and then the instrument panel turned into a rolling screen with one thing after another failing or deactivated while we were sitting (literally not moving) in Charleston traffic. The car would barely move with the accelerator floored - dangerous at the least unnerving at best...... Returned to Baker Mercedes of Charleston Dealership read below the sales manager's email response below Thank you for taking the time to relate your experience to me. Clearly, that is not how we wish our guests to experience this marvelous brand or our dealership. I know for a fact that this vehicle has been driven by other guests and associates with no issues. Unfortunately, this incredibly complex vehicle operated flawlessly until it didn’t, with you behind the wheel! I certainly understand your trepidation but I would love an opportunity to show you one of the other vehicles we have in stock, confident you would enjoy the vehicle and the experience. He also stated: Have you considered any of the other brands we offer? We represent some of the worlds finest automotive manufacturers. I am personally very impressed with the reliability and durability of the Infiniti brand and I would love the opportunity to demonstrate their vehicles to you. Best part the car is still listed on their website for sale as a CPO ! Shopping Lexus and Acura now

My 1st MB (C300 Sport)

Bought it yesterday and only put 30 miles on it. My previous four new cars are all Japanese and never thought about a european car because of reliability concern. Consumer report recommendes it so I get it. Gethered a few premium compact car ratings side by side. C300 has the highest overall score, especially the noise level rating. Excellent quality inside out. Back seat passenger can easily talk to the multimedia person. Time will tell me if it's reliable.

Make sure to check if subframe has been replaced

I've had my car 12.5 years & plan on driving it the rest of my life. I don't drive much & have only 52,000 miles on it. There is one defect that now has a 20 year unlimited mileage warranty-the subframe. I had mine replaced after 12 years & got reimbursed a few months later after MBUSA extended the warranty. If you plan on buying a used one, if the subframe is good and hasn't been replaced you'll have to monitor it & at the first sign of holes, go to your nearest Mercedes dealer & get it replaced under the warranty. If it has been replaced ask for the bill, since some people replaced their subframes with used parts. I would not buy a Mercedes with a used subframe replacement. .

Not a BMW

I'm usually more of a BMW fan, I value the way a car drives over interior or prestige. When it was time to sell my BMW I asked my dad for recommendations to replace it and he suggested this car. I kind of dragged my feet when purchasing it because my experience with Mercedes had been hit or miss in the past. I loved my 04 clk convertible but hated the 08 C300. He assured me the drive got better in the newer ones and I have to say I am pleasantly surprised. The car actually has a pretty sporty drive and is extremely comfortable. There are a few minor issues I personally have such as the base model stereo lacking any type of subwoofer compared to a BMW base stereo. The lack of memory seats can be annoying as well since I swap the car out occasionally with my husband's who is a solid foot taller than me. Outside of that though I actually like the car a lot. I feel safe, the suspension is great, extremely reliable, and it's a very attractive car. It's not enough to turn me to the Mercedes side because I do feel it's a bit overpriced for what you're getting compared to a BMW 3 series, but I'm happy with it and will definitely not rule out Mercedes in the future. Maybe the C63 is in my future.

Dependable, fast, great handling, poor economy

Still has V6 compared to the current C300 and you can feel it. Sits low and tight, handles well, fast. Watch your front spoiler when you park because it is really low and gets scratched easily. The power and speed come at cost at the gas station but you don't drive MB if that bothers you.

Gray Ghost, Silver Shadow

I owned an 06 AMG E55, most amazing car. Near fatal cycling accident robbed me of everything (almost), $$$, my AMG and rental house. Freaked of that whip for years. Recently got back in my feet after a 7 year hiatus and and in a C300 Sport 4Matic. Full blown Benz quality, doors shut with 1 finger, everything is MB quality and almost over engineered. The handling is much sharper than the E class the AMG E55 was based on. It's 800 lbs lighter, has a shorter wheelbase and fat, sticky Michelin Pilot tires. Truth be told, I'm AMG Academy track trained and this car in my bags is a weapon. More than 1 BMW driver have almost crashed the cars trying to follow me. Don't write checks your body can't cash. I installed a Thornton chip, not to go faster but to "wake up" the performance of what's already available. MB cars have a bit of a lag week you press the pedal, as if the car is asking you "are you ready, are you SURE?" ... And then BLAM, her get up and go done got up and went. Lol. The chip doesn't seem to add horsepower, just makes the bulletproof motor come alive a 1ooo rpm sooner. Suspension isn't like the AMG which had the adjustable airbag suspension and three damping stiffness levels. One thing I noticed with both cars is that as the gas tank empties the rear end handing gets a bit choppy. The AMG did the same thing so it's not something endemic to the C300 Sport. Keep the tank at half it above and she settles down. The handling is very sharp, so hamfists be warned, yanking on this wheel will result is the car moving into the next county before you can blink. The car demands that YOU up you hand and skill level. It's not twitchy, it's just very very precise. The AWD is weighted more to the rear and my wear on my rear tires from ...errr, "spirited" acceleration most of the time is proof that the car is RWD until it senses slipping then it kicks in the frying wheel drive. I have not gotten stuck in this NY snow and pulling out of almost a foot of snow was a breeze. This car has been me no issues whatsoever and if my racing about it isn't enough, when I called my racing coach Kevin Krauss, (head instructor at the US AMG Academy and the Porsche Driving Academy) and told him I picked up the 2011 C300 Sport, he cracked up laughing. I was taken aback and asked what's so funny.... "I drive the 2012 version of the same car " 😃😎☘️🐞🏁 With his credentials and teaching background, Kevin could be serving almost any car he wants to, but he WANTS to daily drive a Mercedes C300 Sport 4Matic. The best parts of my day is driving to and driving from work in this car. It's a pure joy.🤗👍🏾

Not sporty at all, it's just a smooth and good looking gas guzzler

It's not sporty by any means. It's a smooth and quite car. It's not fun to drive, it's not exciting either. My major complaint is that it's such a gas guzzler and yet it's slow in its class. It does not do any better than 23 Mpg when cruising on freeway and despite the 230Hp, it's 0-60 is 7.1 seconds. I used to have a 2006 E90 BMW 325i that easily could do 28Mpg on highway and yet could go 0-60 in 6.5 seconds! I forgot to mention a collection of different rattles started at 15K miles and I had to change struts at 16K miles! To make things worst consider the fact that you have to pay for it's expensive maintenance out of pocket! It's maintenance plan is a joke...

Terrible Windshield Wipers

The 2011 Mercedes Benz C300 luxury is nice to look at. You can get many options (at a cost),but the windshield wipers stutter and are very noisy. The auto wiper sensor is terrible and has no consistency. It's hard to believe Mercedes has made such a huge mistake. This problem destroys the whole car.
