I will miss my Millenia.... maybe???

I have owned my '00 Millenia for over 3 years now and it has been an AWESOME car to own. Fun to drive, all around good quality and excellent reliability. However, I have to give it up because of the poor gas mileage (22-24mpg city.) Trading it in on a VW Jetta TDI (38-40mpg city.) Also, my husband finds the seats extremely uncomfortable.

I purchased my Millenia brand spanking new off the showroom floor and have been in love since day 1. I went so far as a purchase a 2nd car and save this baby for the weekends. The styling and history behind it are timeless, with LEDs and factory style HIDs added I have people come up to me asking if it's a 2009. Excellent long distance highway car, good around town, very high quality all around, if it didn't have a Mazda badge it could have easily sold for 75k. I have never driven anywhere without attracting attention, envy, and curious on lookers wondering what it was.

This car has amazing reliability history. I don't know why it never took off in sales. I mean, you can't get a sleeker, snazzier, roommier, sportier, car for the same price. It is my second S model, and I don't agree with the review given by Edmunds. I am selling mine to get into a house with all these low mortgage rates flying around. With the high ratings for reliability and build quality given by Consumer Reports, I think this is a great car.

I've had this car for four years. I bought it because it was different from a Honda Accord or Toyota Camry. I love it. It's comfortable, sporty and has plenty of room front and rear. All in all, a very well-engineered car.

Every where I go, people stop me and say wow what a great looking car. It drives smooth, has been very dependable, great gas mileage 21 around town, 26-28 on the road. One problem, I live in Oregon it rains, the trunk when opened after it rains drips into the trunk. The only other problem, I think there is too much street noise. It is great fun to drive, very dependable, good looking and I would buy another Mazda based on performance and ease.

Purchased the car new as my retirement car and only regret is having to burn premium fuel during times of gas crisis. Have yet to find any car as beautifully styled with its supercharged performance.

I bought my 2000 Millenia in 2002 with only 15,000 miles. I loved this car from the get go (didn't let the salesman know that!). I still have this car and drive it daily. It's fun to drive; it's a luxury car but handles like a sports car. She's never left me stranded. No major repairs. I always keep the maintenance up to date and only premium gas is used per owner's manual. I will keep this car as long as she's still kicking!

My wife and I purchased our Mazda Millenia Millenium Edition in February 2001. We absolutely love the 17" chrome rims, low profile tires, smooth accelleration, and the 6 disc in-dase CD changer. Cornering in the Millenia is another plus. My wife loves the 4 season package that we added with the heated seats/mirrors. Overall I love this car! It has great performance, good gas mileage, very stylish, and fun to drive. People are always commenting on how "Nice" the car looks.

The 2000 Millenia rides well but is a bit sluggish. The upshifting when passing traffic is particularly annoying. However, since I am a conservative driver it is acceptable to me. There are many good features on this car. The leather is quite nice. The heated seats are great. The car is very handsome to look at with its two tone paint job. Overall, I believe I got a fair deal for the money (I got about 5000 off sticker).

There are only two deficiencies in this car: A luxuray car should have more power, although the Millenia has plenty for normal driving; and the cup holders are too small in diameter to hold almost anything other than a can. The car has been extremely reliable, with no repairs in 52,000 miles. Build quality is excellent, except for the cup holder issue. No squeeks or rattles. The ride is very comfortable. I get many comments about how pretty the car is. It's a shame this car is going away in 2003. It just needs a more powerful V-6.

This car has been an incredible investment. Its fun, looks real nice (people mistake it for a Lexus) and did not cost me an arm and a leg. It was between this and an Acura TL. It was a hard decision, but the stretched out Accord came in 2nd (mainly due to the snobs at the dealership). I'm glad I made this decision and will be just as happy with it 10 yrs from now.

My Millenia, fondly named Millie Vanillie, was a wonderful car. An accident totaled him, but I have to PTL that thanks to his safety features, I felt no impact and suffered no injuries. He was a wonderfully quiet ride, and had great get-up-and-go. I will miss him.

The Mazda Millenia gets no respect, at least if you read the automotive press. I bought this car with 55,000 miles on it in October 2002 for US$14,700 and I have not seen anything to match its value-for-money. Powerful, quiet and comfortable, it is an excellent highway cruiser, but nimble enough in city traffic. Gas mileage is acceptable for a 210 hp car. Everyone I have spoken to who owns the Millenia is very positive about it.

I bougtht my mazda for my wife because she loved it's looks. Deeply discounted price for entry level luxury car also a factor. Was always a GM man (10 GM's 8 new from chevy to caddy)Since have purchased 4 new Toyotas big improvement in quality and reliability from GM. Also owned 1 Ford and 2 chrysler products (used). Although the Toyota's assembly were excellent, this car is perfect, nothing out of alingment or loose. The engine is not a great performer by any means. But is adequate for most. Comfortable car for 4 people. Cruise's effortlessly at 80 mph. Only problem after 37,000 miles just happened this week, trunk release button will not open trunk.

A Driver's Car

The Millenia S drives uncommonly well. I consider it a luxury sports sedan. The driver sits low in the car in a firm comfortable leather seat. The view over the low hood line is virtually unobstructed. The car accelerates willingly and its taught suspension and wide low profile tires on oversized rims give excellent traction, enabling the driver to take substantial liberties with speed limits in turns. The car has a nimble and solid feel to it.

Few cars offer such dynamics as the milleniaS while being able to stealthily go by as widely unnoticed>an "ace int he hole" car this is. The boggling fact about its unsung praise is that it has one of new millenium's most honored and revered power plants (miller-cycle engine)! As a matter of fact, I knew nothing of the car until 1998 When I first saw it,being the car fanatic that I am, I was astounded at it's beaty and ,thus began my love affair with Mazda!

Mazda -The Best of the Best

This vehicle is my 5th Mazda purchase; I've had this one for two years and it's truly "the best-of-best" in performance and looks. Wisconsin weather challenges all vehicles and this one does not disappoint. Beware, its pricey when it comes due for service work, but it's well worth the investment for a performance vehicle; fuel economy could be better, it runs true at 25-mpg on the highway.

I bought my Millenia very cheap from a bank at loan value. The car was in good condition with 69K miles. After purchasing I found out the 60K mile tuneup was never performed. I went to the dealer and they wanted $1500 for the tuneup. You can get them dirt cheap, but your paying to maintain a $30K car. I've had some other small issues with the car like the serpentine belt tensioner coming loose. It sounded like a blown engine, but it was just the tensioner bouncing against the block. The transmission is terrible. It's very indecisive. Also, resale is terrible since the car is no longer made.

I love this car! I first learned about the Millenia when I drove a standard version. I liked everything about it, except that I wanted a little more power. The S gives you that power. Great performer on the highways - the smoothest accelerating car I've ever driven. Great sound system, great car for long-distance driving.

Picked up the car on the ford-A plan, for 26,000.00 brand new (marked down from the 32,500 sticker price). Has been an excellent car and held up to what I have required from it. The car if took care of will last you a good time. With a few basic modifications you can get near 230hp/tq crank performance out of the millenia placing it up there with some competitors.

Car over all is a descent car for the money probably the nicest car I have had in a while, but the check engine light has stayed on since I have had the car... First the O2 sensors were bad and the Map sensor and quite a few things inside the computer has gone wrong and the person working on the car said it is # 3 within 2 months that he has TRIED to fix.. I was asked today to go pick it up and take it somewhere else. Very frustrating to me, the dealer where I bought is seems not to care, and I have talked to several people that have bought cars and the same check engine problem with 5 that I know of.

I bought the car 4 months ago at 50,000 miles. The most comfortable car with a really decent amount of performance. I love the car more than ever but I have been worried about letting the mileage stack up. It is such a unique car you want to retain possession of it but don't want anything to go wrong with the 2.3 miller cycle engine. The only people that can work on it is the dealer. Any other place will mess up your engine or charge you a lot more cause they don't realize it's a somewhat experimental engine. All this said you CANNOT find this amount of luxury, performance, and good looks for the price you can currently buy these for. Try like crazy to find one low miles with a clean history.

I've put 110,000 miles on this car and it has been fantastic performer. Minimal cost of upkeep despite warnings of "expensive to maintain." Beautiful body design. Need to replace it before I begin to have normal wear and tear problems, but I don't see anything that I like for 28K or less. Rather keep my Millenia! I drive almost 2 hours a day and I must enjoy my car. Mazda should not have stopped making them.

The master brake cylinder went in 3- months owning car, driver side mirror motor bad, the rear struts was replaced, door not closeing properly, ignition switch malfunction car not starting, transmission regulator malfunctions can't make mind up, wires and plug are bad and needs replacing,my rear window defoster cracked and entire rear windshield was replaced, driver seat rear panels fall off, fog lights needs adjusting every 2-months, paint is cracking all over and April 2003 my transmission went.
