Big problem with the odometer. Mileage may read 42,500 and I'll drive around the block and the odometer will read 43,000. for 2017 the odometer changed about 9,000 mile more than actual miles driven. Dealership (Key's) said this is a problem with is year 2005 ls 430 and there's nothing they can do. I have kept the car because of the loss in trade in value because of mileage. Current reading is 79,000 should be around 42,500, I have three cars I drive and I'm retired. THIS CAR WAS SOLD DECEMBER, 2019, PURCHASED A 2019 RX 350.

I'm old enough not to have to put up with the stiff ride of other cars along with the rattles, difficulty of entry, loud road noise & noisy engines that idle rough. LS 430 does none of this.

Seats are incredibly comfortable. Acceleration very good. Gas mileage around 20mpg. Extremely quiet. Ventilated seats overrated. Some features a bit complex. Best car I've ever driven. Test drove the MB500S and like the Lexus and its features/engineering/price much better.

A Wonderful Luxury Experience

This is my 4th LS car. Normally I like to change brands when a buy a car, but I’ve owned a Lexus since 1992. (Still have the original LS too.) I had a 2002 LS 430 with only 25K on it, but the new toys and styling changes made me get one. This is a great car pure and simple. The interior is wonderful and the leather is better than my last one. The Backup Camera is great along with the Bluetooth. It has a solid presence to it on the road. Based on my prior Lexus experience I have no doubt about the reliability. My 1992 has not caused any problems despite its age. My '98 and '02 LSs were also trouble free. The only concern is the effect of the 18-inch tires on the ride of the car.

This amazing automobile is the very finest being produced today hands down and has changed the way all auto companys make there cars. The germans exclude Porsche have much to be concerned about. Reputations fall by the way side, living by there looks and marketing to pull them out of there poor quality will not be enough today. The consumer who can afford a top of the line motor car is rejecting poor build quality for the lexus LS430 the best automobile on the planet as of today there is nothing finer period.

My 2004 LS430 is a real delight to drive. The optional Smart Access is a wonderful idea. I utilize the Parking Assistant and find the multiple seat positions quite comfortable on long rides. The real beauty of this car is in the handling. Until you have driven a 430 you just can't understand... it's as smooth as warm butter.

The ride is so smooth you feel like you are riding in the clouds. I love the navigation controls and the touch screen. I will buy another car except the ls.

Excellent workmanship. Best engine/transmission function I have experienced. It is so smooth and quiet I had to learn to watch the tac. to see if it is running. The sixth gear allows it to run at 80mph at just 2100 rpm. When asked, the 4000 lbs. will do 0 to sixty in under 6 sec. Almost all comforts have been provided such as air 10 air bags, 10 way heated/cooled seats, dim/tilt down mirrors. We bought it as a road car and while it isn't a "sport feel" drive, it provides a strong performance and safe feel with adaquate road comfort. If it continues to satisfy I will buy this brand car again.

If you can afford it, buy it! This is the finest auto I have ever owned, and as long as I can buy one I will always purchase a Lexus. I have had 12 back operations and I need to have a very smooth riding car, this was by far the best of all, and I tried the entire top of the line. It is one of the things I look forward to every day, getting up in the morning and driving my Lexus. I told my wife not to be upset, but I was in love with another... my new 430. Enjoy, Gary.

It seems reliability has finally become an issue with Lexus with the LS 430 2004 model. My car is 12 months old and has already had 4 recalls, some rather serious like a bad fuel pump and faulty automatic transmission. I have also had my park-assist quit which was not a recall. However, Lexus dealerships are the best and you couldn't be looked after better unless they put you up at the Ritz while they worked on your car. Mercedes and BMW seem to care less, which is why my 2006 will also be a Lexus.

This is my 2nd ls430 in a row. There is too much wind noise and the dealership, although accomodating (they even replaced the wind shield) could not find the problem. They took out the occilating front vents (great feature), the message recorder and the emergency sat link. All missed very much. The seats are less comfortable. This is my first "ultra luxury" package, and my last.

I was almost going to get the new GS but the interior was too small and cramped. And the convertible did not include any new and improved safety features. However, when I got a good price, I said why not? Despite some minor annoyances, this car has superior safety features and a superb ride. I lease 2.

This is the first non-American car I have personally owned. It is flawless in every respect. I have the touring suspension and it is great for super handling and just a 'ball' to drive. The steering response, the engine performance, and the elegant design of the interior is unbelievable. This car leads, does not 'follow'.

I bought a 2002 lexus 430 and after driving this for 3 years and 18,000 miles, I thought nothing could surpass it but in Jan I sold it and bought a 2005 430 and found out they had actually been able to improve the ride. This is the ultimate, the gas mileage is 27-28 mpg on the highway. The nav system! well I'm still working on this, but getting there. An unbelievable car.

I am a repeat Lexus owner. I loved my 1997 LS 400 and now the improvement of perfection is shown in my new LS 430. I intend to enjoy it for at least the next 7 plus years. Driving the car is a joy, its ease of handling and speed is incredible. It's almost as if the moment I think about it - I'm doing it. There is no hesitation in its performance and it LOOKS good too. Thanks Lexus.

Having owned Mercedes Benz, BMW, Acura, and Cadillac, the Lexus is without a doubt the most smooth riding and quiet vehicle of all. Performance is excellent although handling is not quite on par with BMW. The emphasis is on comfort and luxury with the Lexus and they hit the mark with near perfection. The only gripes have to do with the blue tooth phone which is less user friendly to use than my wifes Acura and with fewer voice commands. The navigation system also prevents making changes or inquiries once underway - their lawyers must have the last word in product design. Overall, Lexus is truly an outstanding vehicle and offers excellent valu as well.

The LS 430 Ultra is the very best the car industry has to offer. Heated/cooled seats, perimeter parking sensors, laser-guided cruise control, integrated voice-activated phone - this has it all. My ONLY complaint is that Lexus disables 90% of the GPS functionality once you start moving. That is fine for safety (as the driver needs to pay attention to driving) but COMPLETELY ignores that there might be a passenger there who COULD use it. So instead, we pull over on the shoulder on the highway and risk death, to stop the car to put in the location - that we can't do otherwise because my Lexus is saving me from myself. This is going to be a GREAT lawsuit one day!

The Lexus is by far the best vehicle on the road. It is a joy to drive and is also very pleasing to the eye. Being the former owner of a Jaguar, I can say unequivocally that this car is so much more reliable, so much more comfortable and last but not least more quiet than a Jaguar. Kudos to the design genius that kept women in mind while designing this car. You thought of everything from the seat adjustments to the vanity lighted mirrors. Just pure enjoyment!!

This is my 4th Lexus LS since 1992. I have owned 2 LS 400's and this is my 2nd LS 430. I was talked into purchasing a Mercedes-Benz E-500 last June. Smooth, quiet, comfortable, wonderful craftmanship, and such a pleasure to drive.

I have the premium luxury equipment package. The service is excellent. The ride is second to none. The quality is superior. I had an ES300 years ago and traded it at 100K miles. Since then, I drove a 2000 Volvo and 2003 Jag S type 4.2 . I still have the volvo which my younger brother drives. I put more miles on the X type loaner cars than on the Jag I owned. More than a dozen repairs in 2 years. Service is getting more like Ford. I traded it in 20K before the warranty expired.

For those of us who don't define ourselves by the hood ornament on our car, the LS 430 is both a fantastic solidly-built car and a great deal. It drives much smaller than it is, it's got great power when you "drop the hammer", the Mark Levinson stereo puts many high-dollar home systems to shame, and it's truly comfortable for 5 adults. Plus it's got enough trunk room to make you wonder why people buy SUVs, and the gas mileage is better than you'd expect for a car of this size.

Mark Levinson sound system is better than the one I have in my home. Brakes are wonderful and the 290 HP engine gets you where you want quickly and effortlessly. If you want a trouble free luxury sedan, there is only one car to have and the 430 is it.

This is our 4th Lexus LS since 1990. The 2005 Lexus LS 430 has exceeded our expectations. Many unique upgrade features make it a pleasure to drive. It is quiet, smooth and comfortable. The body is tight and has a nice finish. High test fuel economy is not great so far. Original equipment high performance all season Dunlop tires give a quiet ride and good handling, but according to the manufacturer, are predicted to last not more than 20,000 mi.

I traded a 2004 LS 430 for a 2005 LS 430 - wanted the 18" wheels and a lighter color. Although the Black Cherry Pearl of my 2004 was beautiful, it was a nightmare to keep clean. Traded for the Crystal White. Much easier to maintain the appearance and I love the sportiness of the bigger wheels. They cause a slightly stiffer ride, but coming from a cloud to a lesser cloud...? One amazing experience: I traveled from York, PA to Williamsburg, VA on a business trip so I had the opportunity to check strictly highway gas mileage. Amazing - I got just over 30MPG! 271 miles on nine gallons. In a V8, rear-wheel-drive car. Unbelievable if I hadn't done it myself.
