2006 Jeep Liberty Limited 4dr SUV 4WD (3.7L 6cyl 4A)

I bought my Jeep liberty brand new in August 2006. While it was under warranty, I had the lower ball joints replaced, the manual shifter replaced a few other dumb things. When the warranty ended, I had to replace a 200.00 dollar idle air control valve, the rear window regulator needs replaced and the a/c is broken. The seats stain badly even with rain water and snow flakes. If I had known this particular car was a lemon, I would not have bought it.

We have a 2006 Liberty and have had nothing but problems with the windows. First the rear driver side window just slid down one day about 6 months into the lease and never came back up again - we had never even lowered the window once since we got the car. Today, about 18 months into the lease, the driver's window did the same thing. I asked the service manager to inspect the other 2 windows so I don't have to come back 2 more times for the same problem and he said no - they have to break first. Jeep knows about the problem and refuses to issue recall - beware!!!

Great car. Wasn't interested at first since I'd only seen women driving it, but I've been very pleased and whenever there has been a little problem, Jeep takes care of its customers. Gas mileage is disappointing but that's the only thing that isn't great.

I bought this 2006 Jeep Liberty as my wife and I wanted a small SUV with 4WD. We wanted something in which we could go off roading in the local mountains and deserts. Overall it's been a very good performer for us for off-road use as well as street use. I am 6-4 and for me it's quite comfortable. The mileage is fair, we tend to drive cautiously on street and as a result stand at 16 MPG city, 21 freeway. The one issue we have had is the window issue as oft reported by others. Four times thus far, we are going to have an independent mechanic do whatever it takes to lock them in the up position as we don't use them. Overall we quite like the Liberty, it serves our needs very well.

The window regulators on the Liberty must have come from a Cracker Jack box! There is NO reason we (as owners) should be replacing these regulators every 6-8 months! Jeep KNOWS there is a problem with the quality of the materials used in the regulators & they need to step up to the plate & make a QUALITY regulator! I think this is a pretty sad ploy to have your vehicle back in to replace these EXPENSIVE regulators so often!
