Had it 26 months and 26,000 miles
We have the 17 latitude with the V6,,,, it didn't show it,,, but thats what we have... We paid $22,700.00 for it with the V6. Just got back from a 2500 mile vacation... 34 MPG average for a V6 with almost 300 HP.... Pretty good I think,,,, The 9 speed tranny is without fault,,, matter of fact... Perfect. This Jeep is the most quiet car I have ever had. I change the Oil at 3700 miles,, didn't hafta,,,, but I did. We bought the lifetime Bumper to Bumper warranty... It cost $2700.00 (Retail was $4300.00),,, but I think its worth if. I cannot say enough about this car so far.... My wife loves it,, we also have a 2014 Maxima,,, we like this Jeep better. Ours is Red,, with the Black Cloth interior... I may shouda bought one with leather interior.... but the fabric interior is great,, comfortable,,,, and gets going on long trips Bearable (Really enjoyable)... On trips we get great Gas Mileage.... I feel this Jeep is great value,,,,, and so far at 7700 miles not one problem at all. Update: have it over a year now, and 12,000 miles...... Great car, and we trust it . Great to drive, and comfortable. Not one problem.... Update: 2/6/2019: We now have 15,000 miles on it... Gas mileage remains at around 32 mpg on trips and a combined mileage at 27. Comfort abounds as does quietness inside. All in all a great ride. UP DATE: 8/6/19.... Just got back from a 2500 mile trip up to Rockford, Il... Guys....34 MPG at 75MPH..... steady as a rock. Most quite road care I have ever been in.... Handled great,,, smooth as can be. Can't rate it higher...... well guys it is now feb 7 2020,,, 25,000 miles.......... wonderful car,,, wonderful experience. guys this car is just the right size,,,,,, easy to park, easy to get in and out,, we are 77 years old and this is a big item...... great gas mileage,,,, long service interveles. burns regular gas,,,, and thats a great savings. this car is the quietus car i have ever had..... it was designed as a 4 wheeler for off roading, and the benefit is a really great riding, quite,,,, good handling car with great gas mileage. this car is built very sturdy,,,,, no squeeks at all.

You will have problems
I know many who had Jeeps and a family member who owned a Jeep dealer. And even said these cars can be crap. You will have problems with this car, primarily transmission. If the salesmen told you they updated the transmission, don't believe them because it still sucks. -the interior is nice. I'll give it that. It's kind of soccer mom looking but they recently updated the look of it -i haven't even put 30k miles on my 2017 and I'm already getting rid of it. It's in the dealer as we speak. -Be wary of this car as they won't last, none of the newer jeep vehicles last anyways.

Love my Trailhawk - but it breaks down, A LOT!!!
I really like the styling, comfort, and performance of this SUV. The big problem is the ongoing repairs (thank God it is still under warranty), including the current one when the cruise control went wacko on me; which almost caused a really bad accident. On top of this little problem, the dealership has had it for 12 days with no resolution (OR CONTACT FROM THEM, NO RETURN CALLS FROM THEM!!). I guess Chrysler/Jeep doesn't care about their customers letting this problem happen and a dealership like this to operate. Don't buy any of their products, you could lose your life!!! Note: the next section "Vehicle details" did not offer and option for my model - the 3.6L Trailhawk...

Where else can you get a V6 in this size?
Yes, I know that turbocharging is the future, but direct injected turbo 4s can make a lot of nasty racket. I get 26-28mpg in this vehicle on a regular basis with the smooth sound of a six cylinder engine. It has plenty of power and this is our 2nd Cherokee. (We had a '15 Limited which was perfectly fine as well). The transmission is a common point of discussion on this vehicle, I haven't had any issues with this one or my last one. It will RARELY shift into 9th gear, but it will given a very particular set of conditions. My wife is the primary driver of this vehicle and we liked it because it drives like a much bigger and nicer vehicle. To me it almost felt like a poor man's Lexus RX, it has the same well controlled ride and damped suspension you would find in a more expensive vehicle. We test drove a Nissan Rogue which felt like a tin can compared to this. The Cherokee handles poor weather well, we live in MN and the standard tires seem to do just fine in heavy snow. I have towed a decent sized fishing boat with this vehicle (~2500 lbs) and it did the job just fine. The cargo area does seem kind of small compared to others but the backseat is quite generous. We have a limited 4wd v6 model with out any major options other than the tow package and this is a perfectly acceptable vehicle for a younger family. We will likely upgrade to a Grand Cherokee when this lease is up as our sons will be bigger and the added space would be nice. Chrysler used to make some pretty awful cars not too long ago but I don't have one bad thing to say about this machine. I think it is worth taking a look at this vehicle as this is the only vehicle I have bought the exact same thing a 2nd time.
