Turning my car in as a lemon

2015 Jeep Cherokee Limited 4dr SUV (2.4L 4cyl 9A)

My beautiful Jeep is just no good. Been in and out of dealer 5 times with same issues with the transmission. Every time they would re flash it and say they can't duplicate the issues. Just after 3 weeks of another reflashing my car shuts off while driving. I opened a case with Chrysler and thank god they agreed to buyback my Jeep. Stay away from this Jeep, nothing but a nightmare!!!!

Great SUV, not the best gas mileage with optional v6

2015 Jeep Cherokee Latitude 4dr SUV (2.4L 4cyl 9A)

I've had my 2015 3.2L V6 Jeep Cherokee Latitude for about 2 weeks now and I absolutely love it. Everyone that has seen the vehicle can only describe it as "nice", it is a very nice car. The interior is roomy and made of high quality materials, even with cloth seats. The dash, steering wheel, arm rests are all covered in leather. The remote start and convenience package are well worth the money. The power liftgate, which you may not think is necessary is very nice as well and gets used frequently. The only con so far is the gas mileage. I love the power and acceleration, 271 horsepower. But my gas mileage hovers around 17 mpg, if that is a problem you may want to consider the 4 cylinder.

2015 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk 4dr SUV 4WD (2.4L 4cyl 9A)

I rented this car while on vacation so I don't have long-term data. I do have strong impressions after driving it for a week and several hundred miles. I like the exterior styling a lot. Contemporary, clean. The interior was roomy, with nooks and crannies used for storage. The entertainment system could be maddening. There is perhaps some options that I did not discover, but plugging in an iPhone always seemed start playing iTunes immediately. Not expected. On top of this, the USB connected iPhone would sometimes stop playing a song for no apparent reason. Audio playback of Google maps was sometimes garbled. The touch screen controls are slow to respond. The bluetooth pairing was fine and calls could be easily controlled. There seems to be something seriously wrong with the climate control system in the car I had. When the AC would come on there was a noticeable jolt in the car. Don't know how this got by their QA team! Add to that the temperature controls seems very finicky, with an increment cooler or hotter making far to great a difference in temperature. No dual controls for front passengers. Be prepared to negotiate cabin comfort with your passenger. Despite the full screen in the front, there was no on-board navigation system. An odd omission for an otherwise well equipped car. Well, except for the other lack of electric seat controls. Cruise control was flawless. Headlights bright, and windshield washers worked great. Consumer reviews of Jeeps tend towards the negative, as do reliability reports. This is quite disappointing for a brand that is an American icon. If I win this car in a raffle or someone give it to me, I'd probably keep it. But as for buying one, not likely.

KL is way underrated! Bad rep from bad drivers?

I was skeptical when I first purchased my Jeep Cherokee Sport (KL) two years ago. It was the second year (2015) for this body style and the return of the Cherokee into the Jeep lineup. Many longtime Jeep enthusiasts dogged its crossover styling and the technology over its offroad capabilities. For those who want a serious offroading vehicle, the Trailhawk is going to be your best bet from the KL family. Cherokee hobbyists have now created a two inch lift (and some change) which allows for beefier tires and a more aggressive stance on the Trailhawk, while all other models can find something similar to give their Cherokee a bit more height and light offroading abilities. For the large majority of Cherokee owners, offroading is not on the agenda, so I'll stick with things that definitely stand out for me. I've owned 12 vehicles in the last 20 years, and that includes everything from Ford and Chevrolet to Honda and Toyota, Mercedes and BMW. I'd rate the Cherokee as a 4 star SUV in its class. The interior might not be the most impressive that I've come across, but you get an SD card reader (for audiophiles), bluetooth connectivity, USB ports, CD player and auxiliary input - 5 options for connecting your music! The aesthetics of the dashboard and front cabin are very welcoming and easy to reach everything. The cargo area is about the size you would expect from a Cherokee; anything bigger needed and you should look at the Grand Cherokee. The engine boasts about 184 hp and 170 ft-lbs of torque for the 4 cylinder (cannot comment on 6 cylinder power) and is very nimble in traffic. In the past two years of owning this vehicle, the servicing has been very minimal and light. This Cherokee does feature a lot of computer enhancements, so you will need software updates of your vehicle once every 9 months or so. If you've owned any other modern car from the 2010s, you will know this is not specific to Jeep or the Cherokee. I believe a lot of the bad reviews come from people who have had unfortunate luck, or they just have little patience. I probably would not have even written this review if owners had not rated it so low. Realistically I would give this vehicle a score closer to a 4 out of 5, but these Cherokees are really fun and I won't be getting rid of mine anytime soon. There is also a whole community of Cherokee KL owners who absolutely love their Jeeps (and modifying them!), so don't let a few sour reviews turn you away.

will NEVER buy another Chrysler product...EVER.

I have a 2015 Jeep Cherokee. This is my 3rd Jeep product and after this one, I will NEVER buy another Chrysler product. I started having transmission issues at about 5000 miles. I took the car in several times and they did several updates on my transmission. After telling me they ordered a part, I called back to see the status of the part, because my car was acting worse than ever...and I was advised that a whole new transmission had been ordered. They put the new transmission in. They told me they would have my car for 2 days...when in fact they had it for a week. Didn't give me a loaner car or even offer. Told me to take it easy on the transmission for the first 1000 miles or so. At about 8000 miles, the car started to act up again. Have had 2 more updates down, and the transmission is still very jerky. It doesn't shift right. Doesn't feel safe at all. Every time I take it into the dealership, I get the run around and they make it seem like I am stupid and don't know what I'm talking about, even though I have already had a new transmission in my BRAND new Jeep. I will NEVER buy another Chrysler product. Trading in my Jeep Commander was the worst decision I have ever made.
