Used 2003 INFINITI G35 Sedan Consumer Reviews
I Expected More
Great looking car. Average interior materials. Poor initial quality. 7 repeat visits to repair a dangerous pull to the right. (Was told it was in spec) AC faulty but factory had a repair for it. Gas tank will not fill up. Factory does not have a repair for it.
2003 G35
For a luxury brand I find the fit and finish of this car very poor. Many squeak and rattle points all over the car. Had to replace the brakes at 15,000 miles on my dime. A month later got notice in mail from Infiniti that brakes will be covered under warranty, but I had mine replace outside of the dealer network so I do not get covered. Overall disappointed with the purchase I got vs. what I had expected.

Sportiest in this class
I've put about 5000 miles on this car. I test drove its competitors prior to my purchase, and I've subsequently accompanied a couple of friends on a series of test drives of this & similar cars... bottom line, no other car in this class can touch the G35's performance & poise. At the same time, its competitors (possibly excepting the Cadillac CTS) all out-class it in terms of interior quality, styling & ergonomics.
Annoying problem
I loved my G35 sedan with premium and sport package for the first few weeks. I figured out how to get the best sound from the Bose with Bass at -1, Treble at -3 or 4, fader at RR1. I had to have the dealer install a foam kit to fix door rattles from the front speakers. I'm putting up with the inadequate suspension that's too harsh when driving slow over uneven pavement and jostles you around when turning slowly over a raised surface. But I have little squeaks and rattles that come and go in the right door or dash that can't be pinpointed. Very annoying.
I think I have a lemon
I so desperately want to LOVE my new G35 but it seems that everytime I get close to falling for it, something goes wrong. The 1st problem occurred within the first 2 weeks. The radio wouldn't turn off, even when the engine was off. It took the dealer a week to fix that problem. Now, I'm experiencing problems with my air conditioner...it only works on 60 degrees. If I move it up by 1 degree, the heater comes on. It doesn't help that the service people at the dealer keep telling me it's new model, so problems can be expected. Of course, when extolling the benefits of the car before I purchased it, this information was conveniently omitted.
