Used 2013 Hyundai Genesis 5.0 R-Spec Consumer Reviews
2013 99,999 mile 5.0 R-Spec
Absolutely loved this vehicle. I have been in the "automotive service industry" for over 35 years 20+ in manufacture dealer service departments. This car was extremely reliable and care free for me. Other than tires and regular services I spent no money on repairs, not one dime. I put front brakes on at 95,000 miles because I had them on hand and they were getting thin. The car handles very well. The ride is compliant and the interior very quite. On the road the power is very good for the size and cruising at 80 mph is like driving a Camry at 60 mph. The trans could shift a bit more firm under full throttle or in manual mode otherwise the driveline super. Nice brakes, sound system and steering feel. Should be able to turn off ANY radar cruise system as they apply the brakes when Joe can't drive makes that last minute cut in front of you. LOVE the car sad it was recently totaled. Beautiful R-spec 5.0
Pearson Hyundai gave me an offer I could not resist. Traded in my 3 years old 4.6 for this black/beige 5.0 last week and took it out for a 600-mile round trip to AC, NJ. Overall, the trip was a bliss. Silky smooth, powerful acceleration and quiet cabin made me feel like on top of the world. If I tried to maintain 2000 RPM or above, as recommended for breaking in the new car, I would be over the allowed limits. The car behaved at 80 mph the same way as it was at 40 mph: solid steering, dampened ride, and reduced wind, road noise. Powerful engine and quiet cabin are the two most important things I was looking for in a car for my long trips. I got both in this beautiful R-spec 5.0.
Fun and Smooth, but beware of snow!
I purchased this car about 2 weeks ago, and so far I'm relatively happy with it. The cabin is quiet, and the car is very powerful, making it very fun to drive. However, we recently saw our first glimpse of snow which resulted in a light dusting. Somehow, this incredible car was completely immobilized in a parking lot by a dusting of snow! I was nervous about purchasing a RWD vehicle because of this exact thing, but my fears were assuaged by the salesman and online reviews, all of which suggested that RWD vehicles have come a long way and are no longer a complete liability in bad weather. I still really enjoy driving this vehicle, but wouldn't recommend it for anyone who wants to use it as their primary vehicle where you may see even a little snow or ice.

Door Liner broken within 3 weeks for New Car
I brought Hyundai Genesis 5.0 R-Spec on (09/07/2013). Within one month (10/04/2013), I noticed that the rubber lining on driver side door which is glued has come off. Very disappointed that such thing happened. I compare it to my 18 year old Honda Civic which has 150,000 miles on it. Honda Civic which is one third the cost of Genesis and 18 years older has all it's liners still intact. I got a reply from their customer support. Surely the reply was not drafted by a person who is in customer support but was by a lawyer because language was not apologetic but it was stating that customer misuse can lead to such problems.
