Never hated a vehicle so much
Previously owned a 2013 Toyota Corolla LE, before purashing the 2018 Hyundai Elantra Value edition. This vehicle has been nothing but problems. For starters, the gas gauge initially did not work from day one. I noticed this after the gas hasn't moved from a quarter tank after a week. Of course this was repair under warranty. Although it did take about 2 weeks & an obvious hassle after buying a brand new vehicle. I only wish the problems stopped there. During that initial complaint- I notice the poor performance of the brakes and tires, along with a rattling noise while accelerating. I have always driven a sedan, with no issues of safety even in Maine winter. The brake and tire combination is so POOR I feel unsafe driving this vehicle with the roads slightly wet at all. I can't even get this vehicle to move in the snow. The dealership stated, brakes are fine, that's just how the car runs. And as far as the very loud sound of the engine rattling while accelerating. That's just "how the car runs." Which has been a common theme. Most recently I have noticed the air conditioning malfunction. It seems to have a hard time keeping up with cooling when the temps are over 80 degrees. It will automatically switch to auto defrost , which blasts out UNBEARABLY cold air. Mind you if my windshield needs to be defrosted, the auto defrost never comes on. These may seem like minor issues to some, but when purchasing a brand new vehicle I expect quality and reliability. Which is NOT what you will get from this vehicle. In fact after stating I was unhappy with the performance of my vehicle the sales manager even stated "well what did you expect you bought a $16k vehicle" so there ya go! Don't expect much

Don't Purchase Unless You Want Headaches & Expense
We purchased this car for my daughter for college thinking it was going to be a dependable little car and good on gas. Well we were wrong. Yes we purchased as the second owner with 82000 miles and it hasn't been nothing but problems. Buy something else
Not so good in the shotgun seat.
I rented a current model in summer of 2018. We put 2600 plus miles on cruising the NW USA. The passenger seat is not up to the comfort level of the driver's seat as my wife and I found out sharing driving. This may be a good car for solo commutes or budget necessity, but not a comfortable touring car. It was a willing performer through the mountains.

Just not sure
So I’ve had my 2018 Elantra for just a little over a month and I don’t know if I’m quite sold on it yet. It gets really good gas mileage on the highway but driving through town it seems to go through a lot of gas I just don’t know that myself or anybody can afford that with the gas prices the way they are today. I love the room interior it’s a wonderful car I just don’t know about the gas horrible gas mileage through town it’s almost like you can just watch your gas gage move but on the highway It gets great mileage. I just made my first payment today and I am probably going to go and see about trading it in this weekend. And if you use the air-conditioner it’s going to use a whole lot more gas trust me
