I purchased my 2008 Azera Limited in August of 2008. It had 23 miles on it. I now have 233,000 miles and I STILL have the ORIGINAL belts, ORIGINAL hoses AND I have NEVER had it tuned up! It runs the same today as the day I purchased it! Acceleration, performance, fuel economy are all as good now as they were then! I would NOT hesitate recommending this car to anyone! I believe the 3.8L engine as well as the Azera line was discontinued because the Koreans did not understand the concept of planned obsolescence. This car appears to be able to last forever with little to no maintenance issues, UPDATE: Just passed the 245,000 mile mark and the car still running like a top!

I bought my '08 Azera Ltd used in 2010, and aside from the very poor gas mileage, and needing to have the entire dash replaced under warranty... and a transmission that doesn't seem to shift smoothly when accelerating... I have been very satisfied with it... Lots of power with the 3.8, good handling, though it feels like a heavy car... unique good looking body, leather interior has been very durable, though I treat it often... and not overly comfortable/cushy... I only around 15mpg in the city... which is poor for this class of vehicle... had to replace the front struts after 43K... now the stabilizer arm bushings are needing replacement and maybe the ball joints. Not a ton of repairs for a car this old... but for a car 43K miles... not great. I am satisfied though the resale value is very low. UPDATE: Still driving strong... still poor gas mileage, but runs and drives great. Leather seats holding up really well. I'm having a hard time picking out a new car to buy, as this one still has low miles and the reviews on everything but Lexus are troubling... cars seem to be getting more and more unreliable... so maybe I'll drive this until the wheels fall off! Update 7/21: More and more pleased with my Azera... the design is unique, which is unusual for a Korean or Japanese vehicle... I am not tired of it at all... still runs great, plenty of power... I added some LiquiMoly to my oil and now am getting 18 in the city, which is an improvement... mileage is still not great, but acceptable. Ride is pretty smooth, handling is fine, visibility is xlnt... leather still holding up great... no real "Tech", which to me is fine... I am actually in a bit of quandry... I often think about buying a new vehicle... but can't seem to find any that blow my hair back enough to pull the trigger... I thought about a Lexus GS350, but the styling is VERY dated, IMO... Audi A6 is not reliable enough... Toyota 4Runners and Tundras are overpriced and the gas mileage is stinko... Camrys and Accords are boring... GM and Chrysler products are low quality... so... I'll just stick with my Azera... and be just fine with that. Well... I finally let my Azera go... the used car prices were getting crazy high, so I sold... I will miss it, as it was a really great car and I was so used to it, it almost drove itself, it seemed... but I picked up a new '22 Toyota Avalon XLE and its specs are very similar to the Azera... 50 more horses, much better mileage... and so far, drives just great. I hope to keep it as long and be as satisfied!

Best car I’ve ever owned - hands down

I purchased my 2008 azera limited two years ago with about 145,000 miles on it ..LOVE this car - it is smooth, reliable, strong, and great for long distance driving. Now it’s almost at 200k and other than replacing normal things due to wear and tear (suspension, struts, battery, and radiator) she still purrs. I always get compliments from my mechanic when I bring her in for an oil change and I plan on driving it until 300,000 miles. Nice leather interior, built in gps, satellite radio, and DVD player to boot 👌 even at 12 years old this car holds its style, class, and value

I bought a 2008 azera on june 1st of 2009. It was a program car and had 8,400 miles on it. It cost a little less than a camry, and had a better warranty, but that's the only good part. It in no way matches the quality of a toyota camry. I've read these reviews and have decided that they must have been written by hundai dealers. My overall gas mileage is around 18 mpg. I guess that's good if you compare it with a hummer. I took the car on vacation and the throttle sensor went out 22 times before i could get it to a dealership to fix it. The mechanic who fixed it said that he had fixed several of them, and he didn't know why they didn't have a recall on them. I'm very disappointed in the car.

I have been interested in the Hyundai Azera's for a while and finally found a good price on a used one. With 78,000 miles on it I still cant believe how well it looks and drives. What really surprises me is how little these gems sold in America. For the money I don't believe there was a better buy in this class. All cars have issues and for what you pay for this car, and the amenities you receive it is amazing. I can't wait to buy one of these brand new some day. Great job Hyundai and Kia!!!!!
