Honda’s answer to the El Camino
I’ve bought this vehicle as it was being driven off the delivery truck. I’ve been very pleased with this truck. A couple issues occurred at 35000 miles. All six fuel injectors fail as well as the catalyst converter. Repairs were covered by warranty. The truck now has 186000 miles. No problems. I change the engine oil & filter every 5000 miles, the air filter every 10,000 miles and the trans oil & filter, transfer case and rear end every 30,000 miles as well as other scheduled maintenance. I drive this truck back and forth between California and Arizona on a regular basis. So far so good.

A Total Disappointment!
There is almost nothing I like about this vehicle. In fact, it is a very poor match for my comfort and driving style. and I can't wait to get rid of it after only 2 years and 5,000 miles. The Ridgeline has 52,000 miles, it has died twice in my driveway for very stupid reasons (ie left windows open overnight and the remote key had a dead battery), stranded me in the outback of Oregon on it's virgin road trip with a remote keyless entry computer module that was dying 85K miles before it should have, alot of road noise at freeway speeds ( I keep checking to see if a window is open), a forward speed of 5 mph without applying the gas, the gas and brake pedals are way up high and my foot slides off the gas and under the brake pedal because even with the 24 seat adjustments I'm unable to reach the pedal unless in the knee-to-chest position, the digital display causes eyestrain and requires taking eyes off the road because it is too far from driver's seat, all "features" have flat/black/sleek buttons that can't be read or felt in the dark or even during the day because the icons are miniscule, the "premium" stereo can't tune in to basic radio stations without intermittent signal loss and static, even in populated areas, wiith bad quality audio. The tailgate does not lock unless you buy an aftermarket part which is NOT currently available and costs $200.+ I can't get my skis into the inbed trunk. I have gone through 2 recalls, the hood latch that could likely come loose in windy driving and hit the windshield, and the wire harness that hooks up the back-up camera can get caught and destroyed in tailgate hinge.....which in fact I figured out before the recall was announced. Only once did the back up camera actually work. I actually have 2 dings in the exact same place when I backed into my garbage can. This truck has alot of blind spots despite the warning system. I actually feel that driving this truck is dangerous for me. The Owner's manual is so dumbed down, and contents hard to find due to wierd naming of typical parts, it is pretty useless and tiring to try and find answers. So, I am back to driving my 2000 Toyota Tacoma SR5, Thank goodness I still have it! It starts EVERY time, Is so comfortable compared with the Honda, which causes me back pain. I can play my CDs and the radio when tuned is a pleasure to listen to. bye bye Honda. I did like my '84 Accord but it was a lemon, the'92 Accord was better. But, my previous good opinion of Honda has changed, most likely permanent. I asked a dealer if they wanted to buy the Ridgeline, but they already have one dead in their lot and no parts to fix the back up camera. Luckily, another shop had the parts and I'm scheduled for repair next week. Hope it will sell SOON! and I will be done with this nightmare.

functional, likeable, and easy hacks.
Overall, I'm very fond of this vehicle. Pros are comfortable without power seats and functional for a pickup with large under bed waterproof storage trunk leaving the bed clear for hauling, drives very nice and feels like driving a sturdy SUV. Fixable upgraded #1, i added heated mirrors by swapping the non-heated mirrors with heater elements mirrors, and purchased an aftermarket rear-defogger system which now controls the heated mirrors that i swapped out., Fixable upgrade #2, i swapped out the rear door checks with the HONDA Pilot front door checks, Note: the stock rear doors do not fully open limiting access to the rear seat which folds up for cargo space, so I purchased dealer part for this and now works perfectly! very functional pickup bed with tiedown hooks and spare tire in storage compartment under bed and without wheel humps so sheets of plywood lay flat. Cons with the looks as the rim offset needed to be more like the pilot and closer to the outer edge of the car (i change the rims and stands (looks) much better). It would also be nice if the front end was 3/4" higher giving the truck a better stance rather than looking like a nosedive SUV in the front, and the car tires were not appealing, so i replaced the tires with same size but a little more aggressive tread. The full con is the low towing capacity max at 5k lbs but it's helpful that you can turn off the overdrive when trailer is hooked up, Note, it works well with a bike rack.

Smooth, Powerful, Quiet
It’s very comfortable and has proven reliable. We bought it used in 2018 with 9000 miles. We now (2023) have 33,000 miles. It’s a great car. We did need to replace an alternator at 28,000 miles. The steering wheel would jerk occasionally. Thankfully the extra warranty we bought covered it.

Lives up to its reputation
What a great vehicle. I have another car that cost $100k more and this is the one I’m driving the majority of the time. Great ride and so far no issues. It's a keeper

Random Alarms! won't turn off
I was all about Honda, and really was happy with this truck until the alarms randomly started going off. I'd run out, unlock the car--disalarming the car, then an hour later--it would go off again. It would happen sporadically (months apart). I got notes on my truck window when parked overnight in a Portland neighborhood that my truck kept them up all night. Service couldn't fix it. Took it in 4 times. They always said they got it, then a few months later--it started again. Also, the battery is covered by some difficult to remove plastic cover (I tried jumping somebody and it was too hard to deal with). I ended up trading it for a Toyota. Bummer, but I'm done with Honda.
Ridgeline Truck rides like SUV
limited trim/model availability around Houston so have to do a lot of shop around.

Multi stations on one input
Honda lets you combine more than one station per button. Great idea right? That's the good news. The bad news is that if you switch off the station with the intent of getting to the other station on the same button the RADIO determines whether that will happen! So I have stations 5 & 6 combined. I'm listening to station 5 but I want station 6. So I switch to another button and then go back to 5 & 6. You would think when doing that it would put me on station 6. NOPE! You have to keep trying until the RADIO lets you do that. So I either don't combine or manually switch the station.

Feels like driving European high end SUV
Buy whatever fits your need. This truck is very comfortable like driving my old $55K European SUV. you don't feel like driving a truck but a car. I drive 4 hrs roundtrip to my nearest airport 2-3 times a month and comfort is my big priority. I only need this truck during whitetail hunting, fishing, run to HD to pick up light gardening materials but not interested to tow a boat or go off roading. I also test drove Tacoma and Frontier but this one I really fell in love. So far all I want are in this truck. Not interested to T or any higher versions since I can use my smartphone for directions like the Waze app and to know where the cops are in the road.lol In regards to music i can always rely on my spotify so I hardly listen to Radio broadcasts. So far I am please with comfort and ride especially I drive far monthly for work to nearby airports. thumbs up for Honda

An SUV that hauls
Am in love with the 10 way driver seat with the lumbar support and the adjustable arm rest. This should fit any driver. Was looking for an SUV that was comfortable for 4 adults that would pull a lightweight trailer. This will do that, plus I can haul gardening supplies or camping gear in the back without trashing the inside. It handles like an SUV, the best turning radius of any truck I ever owned. Love the locking huge trunk under the bed. I think it's very attractive and I can't wait to take my first road trip.

Looking forward to many years
The truck has a lot of features that I am thrilled about. You get the convenience of a quality car included in a truck. I hated paying $35K but I have to admit this is a real value compared to the competition. There are many features that will take time to get to know before I am fully comfortable knowing my way around the cab.

Honda ridgeline
An extremely comfortable ride. Better than most cars. Love the dual opening tail gate. Interior is great. I've only had it two weeks but love it so far. Still love this vehicle. It is the best I've ever owned. The only flaw I see is the navigation system. The voice commands are not recognized the majority of the time. 2 years now and still love it. Would buy it again in a minute. The radio has intermittent problems but the speakers are fine. 2.5 years. Pretty much the same comments. Only issue is the radio.
