Used 2011 Honda Pilot Consumer Reviews
So disappointing
After 7 months of car shopping, I finally bought a Honda Pilot. Planned on having for years. Bought in June 2010 and looking to replace although will lose money. The seats are so uncomfortable it ruins the entire experience. Not adjustable and C shaped in the upper back with headrest pushing head forward. Long rides are unbearable. I am 5'7" and husband 6'0" and cannot adjust to either of us. Sunroof not consistent and back hatch inside fascia came up already. Cannot see paying for something that cannot ever get comfortable in. Looking at a Kia Sorento, so disappointed in my purchase and looking at options, ruined my impression of Honda as this was my first.
Not what was advertised.
The 2011 Pilot we purchased was advertised as habing 22 mpg on the hhighway and 18 in the city which we considered good for a SUV this size. We wer disappointed to find out that the car receives 18 highway and 15 in the city. We have also discovered that the tires need replacing after only 2 years and 28,000 miles. When I asked if theis was normal the dealer said it could be. Again, we were disappointed to find out the tires had no warranty from either the car or tire manufacturer. We have had to bring the cr n for 4 recall checks which seems rather high. Overall, a nice car but not worth the money and less than advertised.

Great solid Honda reliability
This is the 4th Pilot in our family now. We go back to Honda because of the reliability, ride, and usability of their vehicles

Just Ok
Overall, I was disappointed in the Pilot. I purchased a 2011 EX-L. What disappointed me the most was the poor gas mileage for a relatively weak engine for the size of the vehicle. I was barely getting 17MPG overall. I bought the SUV for the size, it is big and can carry a lot of cargo. The ride is good, but very stiff. I had no major problems, but there was a constant allignment issue that I had to have fixed several times. I would not recommend because I feel there are much better other similiar vehicles available for the same money.
Passport to Pilot
In 2001 I purchased a Certified Used 1998 Honda Passport, I love that car but it was getting older and I figured I best get something new before the Passport starting showing signs of its age. In April I purchased a 2011 Honda Pilot (Pilots replaced the Passport) and could not be happier. The gas mileage isn't great but other than that I love it. The only complaint I have is that Honda should make Bluetooth standard equipment in all their cars. Took it out for it's first long road trip yesterday and it was a joy to drive. Still have my Passport too!
