Used 2010 Honda Pilot Consumer Reviews
Best SUV in class!
This is our Second Pilot, we traded in our 2006 EX- L. When we test drove the 2010, we were sold. We opted for the full featured Touring model, and have been pleasantly surprised with all of the features. For the price we paid (Just over $38,000) there is no way you could buy a comparable SUV in any other brand. The added benefit is, it is a Honda, which once you've owned one, sells itself. We have a large family, Three Kids, and this car does great on road trips. If you are on the fence on what model to buy, get the touring. For what you get, it is well worth it!
4WD Touring w/ Nav
Overall very happy. Loved my '97 4 Runner but this car has much more interior space, better advertised mileage than the '10 4Runner. Quiet, handles very well and luxurious on the inside although some of the trim seems a little cheap. No real complaints. Handled great in our last snow storm. Overall mileage so far according to trip meter 18.1 over 950 miles. Haven't been on the highway for any extended period yet. Would expect improvement when broken in and switched to synthetic oil. Great sound and Nav system. Love bluetooth and iPod interactivity-never need to take your hands off wheel. Boxy exterior but you know that going in. No pulling or mechanical issues so far.

Practicality of a minivan w/o the stigma
This is my second Pilot, my first being an '05 model, which I liked quite a bit. The 2nd generation addresses a lot of the faults of the first generation, most notably the design of the third row is much improved and the pop up rear glass. Although these improvements are most welcome, there are still a few issues. Honda needs to go back to the drawing board on the engine in this vehicle, and improve low-end torque. That is the reason the fuel economy is poor - mostly because you have to give it lots of gas to keep up with traffic. Sure, it's heavy and big, but I'm convinced it would do much better with tuning. The only other issue is the tacky interior plastics, which are GM-like.

I finally traded in my Van for this SUV. So far, I like it better then my Van. one problem I noticed, it seems to pull to the right. Looks like others are having this same problem. I brought it to dealer, they said, they are not seeing the problem. They said it is normal that it pulls if I accelerate. I think that is junk! My brother CRV is not doing that. For that reason, I lower its quality to 7.
Fuel mileage overrated
I have only driven 4000KMs; like the handling and power of this vehicle but am terribly disappointed with gas mileage. If I had known it was this bad I would not have bought this vehicle. My 8 cylinder pickup was better when towing. It's not bad when driven a long distance on the highway when not towing. Honda has severely overrated the mileage of this vehicle. It is not even close to the numbers they suggest. Towing mileage is brutal, 20.1 lts/hundred over 300kms. They should have installed a bigger tank because you are constantly stopping for fuel. I find this vehicle has a lot of road noise compared to my last vehicle. It's possible it's the type of tires but it should be better.
