This model is greatly improved. Its bigger than my previous 05 model. Lots of extra features like tri-zone climate, backup camera, stability control, etc. The DVD screen is a little small but it sounds great. The ride is just a tad stiffer but it handles much better. The power feels about the same. I don't agree with Edmunds' performance review. How did they get an almost 10 second 0-60mph time? Did they test it going up a hill? The car gained less than a hundred lbs. and also has a little more power. Two seconds slower to 60mph...I don't think so. Test drove a Mazda CX-9. Did not like it at all. The Pilot is way smoother, quieter and more refined.

We needed a larger vehicle for our growing family. We looked at the Honda Odyssey, Toyota Sienna, Forerunner, Highlander, and Buick Enclave. For many reasons (fit, feel, steering, 3rd row, all-wheel drive) we chose the Pilot. We have had it for 2 weeks now, and it's been great. We put a rear facing car seat with a infant car seat next to each other in the left side of the car. Still enough room for adult on the right and for access to 3rd row. 3rd row is very usable for kids and adults. Tech in the vehicle is great. Impressed with the bluetooth, iPhone integration, Nav, and entertainment system. Gas mileage isn't great, but we knew that going in. It's been a great choice for us!

Needs some changes

The 2010 Pilot is an excellent choice for large sized SUV. It provides great comfort and rideability, and has ample room for 8 people. The interior design is excellent except for usage of cheap looking plastic on the dashboard. One thing I missed from my CRV was the conversation mirror, which was great for checking on your kids, without turning your head. Performance wise, the Pilot is no slouch, but its probably the first guzzler from Honda. All over the internet people are complaining of poor mileage. I am hard pressed to get their EPA 17 mpg in city. Braking distance is another valid complaint, it takes more distance to stop when braking at 60mph and above.

2010 Pilot after my first month has been impressive. Fuel economy has been average but the rugged design and handling make up for it. Steering is very good and the seats are very comfortable. The large number of options on the touring take time to learn but once you learn they are great. The navigation system is outstanding, along with the backup system. The automatic climate control system is very good.

My Honda experience

Avg gas mileage is 18.9 based on mix city/Hwy drive. You'll definitely feel the veh jerk when it changes gear and sometime when it switch off part of the engine. The biggest problem I have on my Honda is, the veh pulls to the right. It has visited Honda service dept 3 times (within 6 weeks) for the same problem and to the extend of recalibrating the subframe base on recommendation from Honda America. As of now, my Honda will pull to the right lane within 5 to 8 sec @ 40 mi/hr driving (testing the alignment by letting both hands off the steering wheel). Still working with Honda but was told it's my luck if the veh is "calibrated" to spec. Fun to drive, reliability stinks for a brand new car.
