Noisy low gear problem in 9 speed transmission
I noticed the higher rpm in the gear 1 and 2 when I step on gas while the speed doesn’t really pick up with the high engine sound. I think the 9-speed design made the first two gears too close, or not properly separated. When starting from a red light turning green, my engine sounded much louder than my surrounding vehicles and my Odyssey doesn’t move any faster. Hated this! Before I had time to visit the dealer to complain, I tried to use the gear shift paddle to manually shift gears before the rpm goes to 2500 at the low gears. It works very well! Instead of waiting for the transmission to shift automatically, do it manually to avoid high rpm and the speed picks up reasonably fast. I tried the S mode first, and later found that manual shifting in D mode will also work well. If anyone think I shouldn’t do that, let me know. I am very satisfied with all other aspects of my Odyssey and that’s why I gave it a 4 star rating out of 5. I have a BMW X5 with An 8-speed transmission. It’s very smooth and quiet in gear shifting. Thanks.

Short romance
How current are some options such as navigation and radio? Back seats don’t fold down as well as some brands. Did not drive straight ahead at highway speed as well as some brands. Excellent gas mileage for van. Got hit from side by another vehicle and totaled, but safety equipment worked well. No one was hurt other than a little soreness where shoulder harness tighten.

Frustrated
LOVE the roominess of the van & everything about it. EXCEPT that we have continued to have computer problems with the dash & tv. THEN, we had to replace the entire fan assembly with only 61,700 miles on the van! Due to buying a GM Certified vehicle & being the 2nd owner (we bought the car with 35k on it), Honda wouldnt fix it or even acknowledge the problem unless I took it to get diagnosed at a dealership. We had a FREE estimate & refused to pay for a diagnosis when we were already angry about the car having problems when we havent even had the van a year. Still having computer issues so have to take it back in.

Sirius XM Radio DOES NOT WORK in my Honda Odyssey!
Make sure to set up your XM radio before you drive your car off the lot. The car I bought in 2019 is fantastic. No doubt about it. I had a 2008 Odyssey and bought it again last year! But while XM radio worked well in the 2008 (still does...my son drove it out west this year), somehow it never worked properly in my new Odyssey. The dealership could never figure out how to fix it. I think they actually sold me a LEMON, in this particular area anyhow. Very disappointing. So a year later I finally cancelled my subscription even though I really liked XM radio...I had my channels all set up and really enjoyed it whenever it actually worked.
