Electrical/Computer problems non-stop

Have owned 2019 Odyssey Elite for almost two years. Lost count of central computer issues. Overhead camera would disconnect, audio would stop working (for everything), internet would stay disconnected, etc. The worst, all of it requires restart of the car and not just off and on at the traffic light. You have to open door, close door, lock car, unlock car. Otherwise computer still running on background.I bought it for technology, and technology is failing all the time. Not going with Hondas for a while after this.

I have had many Hondas since my first 600cc Civic in the 70's. Accords, Preludes, Civics, and two Odysseys. The first Odyssey was a 2005 Touring, and our current one is a 2019 Elite. We gave the 2005 to a friend and that thing has well over 100k miles and runs like a scalded ape. The engine and transmission are flawless, no matter how bad you abuse the accelerator. In between the two Odysseys we had two Accord tourings that performed as well. Our kids are also Honda fans with several of them buying the product,( we admittedly try to stick with the 6cyl. models). We have had the new Odyssey since around 09/2019 and it is the wife's daily driver,( The 2005 Odyssey was my daily driver for years, refusing to get rid of it) I now have a 2019 F150 Platinum which my wife refuses to drive, because it is so big. So, I rarely get to snag the Odyssey for a drive on my own, she is almost always along when I do. You might ask, So what? Well, she won't let me drive "adventurously" when she is along. You need to go test drive an Odyssey with the new ten speed and paddle shifters. The thing is pure joy to drive and BUTTER SMOOTH. I really love the drive/ride in my truck, sitting up high, massaging seats etc., but driving the Odyssey is so much more fun. The thing is tight, crisp and full of room. We love everything about the vehicle. I see some people complain about some problems, I guess that can happen with any vehicle. So far ours has been GOLDEN. Final thought, she wanted an SUV type vehicle to start with. Then I saw a review where some guy suggested looking at the new Odyssey instead of an SUV. We did and fell in love with everything about it. And now for 2020 all the Odysseys come with the 10 speed,( a must have with this new van) whereas it used to only be included with the touring and elite models,( not sure about the paddle shifters ). Watch the Youtube reviews with test drives, almost every reviewer cannot believe how quick it accelerates. A homerun with this vehicle.

Miss my 2005 odyssey

Loved my 2005 odyssey. Traded it for a used 2015 touring odyssey. Loved the 2015 until it made a loud bang one morning. Sounded like 2 pans hitting together. Then it jumped into gear. I was told transmission problem. Traded that in for 2019 odyssey LX. Hate it cause it feels like it’s got 4 cylinders. Sluggish from stop sluggish trying to get on highway. Once I’m on the highway real nice smooth quiet ride. I hate the sluggishness. Wish I kept my 2005 and pour money into it. It was the best!!

DO NOT BUY HONDA'S

The company has know for a long time that the "infotainment", as they call it, has had issues. I purchased my Odyssey in may 2019 and with only 2500 miles they had to replace the amplifier. It took 3 days for that. Now the van has 13,500 and this is the 5th time that I have dropped it off with an infotainment problem. It's the never ending story. I had a Toyota Sienna for 12 years and it never had a problem, I sold it with 189,000 miles, and it ran perfect. STAY AWAY FROM HONDA

We always wind up hating Hondas

Could never get comfortable in the driver's seat. At 6'3" the seat just would not go back enough. The van felt underpowered. The 9-speed transmission felt off compared to fancier 10speed in the touring. Infotainment was always annoying. It did not play well with our apple devices. We have had our share of vans and liked them all better than the odyssey. I think we are just not honda people.
