2nd CRV -- good vehicle but not as good as my 2018
I bought my first CRV in 2018. It was my favorite vehicle but I always wanted a Tacoma so eventually traded it for a 2020 TRD Off-Road which I disliked after a short period of time and got back into my 2020 CRV. In short, my 2018 CRV was a better vehicle. The 2020 feels the same as the 2018 -- the inside looks the same, everything seems to operate the same way. The paint isn't as good, there's a blemish on one of the body panels. Also, the infotainment screen occasionally turns pink and the display becomes "pixelated." I took pictures and drove it to the dealer to show them while it was doing it. I've driven the car about 3,800 miles now and will be taking it in for an oil change; the dealer acknowledged the problem and said the repair likely has to do with ensuring a solid connection between the head unit and the electronic connectors inside the dashboard. I'm dubious but they claim this will fix it. Also, within about 500 miles of purchasing the car: there was this weird knocking / clunking noise from the front end when I would steer around corners or, especially, go over bumps. Again, I took it back to the dealer and they said they loosened the engine and transmission, lubricated the mounts and "reset" the powertrain on the mounts. It worked and I've driven more than 3,000 miles without any more weird noises. Overall, it's a good car but not as good as my 2018 was but it's still my second favorite vehicle of anything I've owned -- and only behind my last CRV. If I could do things over again, I would have kept the 2018 because the 2020 isn't much different except for problems I've experienced. UPDATE, 2/2/21: I have about 7200 miles on my car now, had my first oil change. Dealer had my vehicle for 3 days, eventually said they couldn't fix the infotainment screen, it is my phone, not the car. I got a new phone and it still turns pink. Neither my old phone, the new one or anyone else's phone causes the screen in my other car to turn pink so I call BS and am disappointed. The AWD has been great in the winter -- just like my 2018. The vehicle is averaging 29.5 mpg with a high of 33.9 and a low of 23.8. I have considered a Prius to get better mileage but it feels so tiny inside and sits so low to the ground. I also considered a Ridgeline but they seem so thirsty and large. So I guess I'll just keep my CRV with the faulty infotainment screen since it's the perfect do-everything, compromise vehicle -- sits high to avoid curbs and bumps, goes off-pavement well, carries loads of stuff, isn't too thirsty. Some miscellany: I added LED headlights and LED reverse lights -- both of which make a remarkable difference in terms of visibility and safety. And that clunk in the front end? It's gone and hasn't returned. UPDATE, 2/8/22: about a year ago, I traded my CRV against a new Prius. Yeah, I loved the height, space, and AWD of the CRV. I guess if I could do it over again, I'd keep the CRV and buy the Prius, too, but I didn't trust my 2020 CRV. That weird thing with the infotainment screen just flaked me out. The Prius sits low to the ground and scrapes on everything, doesn't have nearly the room of the CRV but I'm enjoying the 55mpg I'm getting and also appreciate the 550 miles of range I get on a tank of gas; when it's time to top up, it's only an 11 gallon tank anyway so fill-ups are cheap. I imagine my ideal vehicle is probably a hybrid RAV4 and I'll probably get one someday but the Prius is a keeper for sure.

Great little SUV!
So we've had this CR-V for about month now - just got our first thousand miles a couple days ago and we are pretty happy with it. We went from a Sienna to this CR-V as we didn't need the extra room (and higher gas consumption). It took a little while to get used to a smaller vehicle, but there is still plenty of room for our family. It's fits 4 of us perfectly; 5 is a little bit of a squish. Pros: Great gas mileage (much better than the Sienna) Rides great even in long distances. Nice storage areas Android Auto/Apple Play is a great feature - I like seeing the map from my phone on It has plenty of USB ports to charge our devices. I like all the standard safety features - lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring, auto stop for collisions. Heated seats are great - especially since I have a bad back. The remote start is definitely handy on a hot day. I also like the touch features to lock and unlock doors. Cons: It's definitely not as quiet as the van we had, but not terrible. The eco mode definitely limits acceleration and makes the a/c not blow as strong. It's fine for every day driving, but turn it off to get the maximum acceleration. The auto start is annoying a jerky. There is a button to turn it off, but I don't like that I have to disable it every time I turn the vehicle on. When it is on, the auto start is jerky and makes the whole vehicle move. I get the point of it for emission purposes and I don't mind it necessarily unless it's hot and we need the a/c going. When it's sunny, the radio screen can be hard to see. Overall, I think its a great vehicle. Especially for a family that needs room and wants something that will ride well and is quality built.

Studied & Compared, Bought 3rd CRV!
This is my wife’s 3rd CRV (‘05 EX, ‘12 EX-L Nav, ‘20 Touring). The ‘12 EX-L went to our daughter with only 74,000 miles on it! Toughest decision for her was color - what poor choices unless you like white, black, silver or a few shades of gray! Why not a sandstone or light green? She picked the Sonic Gray - which is more of a light blue; but had to take a black interior (why not gray?) Other than that, she LOVES the car. It’s clearly larger than the ‘12 CRV because the same rear seat dog “hammock” doesn’t fit in the ‘20 model. This car is significantly quieter than the ‘12 CRV Gas mileage is great; avg is 31; got 36 on a 200-mile trip up the coast last weekend! I was ready to dislike the Lane Keep Assist and other “Smart” features... but they’re actually good! We expect to have this CRV for 10+ years; we know from experience they will easily do this. NOTE: Compared Touring models with 1.5 Turbo & Hybrid powertrains. Liked both - but the math for the Hybrid doesn’t work. Right now, Hybrids are selling at Sticker (if you can find one), but I got an aggressive price on the 1.5 Turbo; difference was a bit over $3,500. Using EPA numbers, in 10,000 miles of driving, you save 82 gallons of gas with the Hybrid. Even if gas goes back to $3.50 a gallon, you’ll have to save 1,000 gallons to break even - which is 122,000 miles. But at that point, the high-voltage batteries would have been replaced, at a cost of $3,000 - $3,500... So the math never works out. (With gas at $2.50, the break-even is 1,400 gallons or 171,000 miles - and at that point, you’re looking at your second battery replacement!) Bottom Line: Don’t spend Thousands to save Hundreds!

Almost Great
I purchased our 2020 EX a couple of days ago. It replaced a 2018 Ford Escape that I never cared for. First impressions: Ride and handling: Excellent. At speed the ride is VERY quiet and relaxing. Steering is crisp and the car has a nice turning radius. Takes bumps very well, no jolting at all. Climate control: Good, but the blower is not nearly as powerful as I'd perfer in Texas heat. There is no "max AC" setting, and when it is set to what would be max fan + AC + recirculate, it takes some time to cool off a hot cabin. Confusing control panel for AC. Main control screen: Could be much better. I like the position of the screen and how it is flush with the dash, not like a flat screen TV poking up and off the dashboard. However, I am very disappointed with the navigation piece. With the EX trim, in order to have navigation, one must literally plug your phone into a USB port with a cable. On the other hand, the EX-L trim level has navigation integrated into the system. No need for your phone. No cable wire hanging all over the place. Not good. Sound system: Mixed bag. The most important thing, the sound quality, is EXCELLENT. The EX has a strong 160W 4 speaker setup. But the control screen could be better, especially preset stations. You can only save 12! In previous vehicles I've owned there were three sets of preset choices (ie: XM1, XM2, XM3), each storing 10-12 stations. Only 12 now. Storage: Great, and the rear hatch (manual) is also excellent. One little tug and it rises up by itself just fine. Lowering it is also easy, not like you're on a lats weight machine at the gym. I recommend the Honda CR-V, but you get what you pay for, so I suggest the EX-L trim level or touring if you can afford it.

Great car but Infotainment System not up to par
So far... Rides great, good mileage, tons of space, very comfy. The Infotainment and settings system is very poorly designed compared to my other cars. Not very intuitive and need to go through many layers.

Touring Edition an Excellent Alternative
The 2020 Honda CR-V Touring model is the only non-hybrid with LED lights. Note that adding the parking sensors does not integrate with the onscreen like the hybrid model. They have to tear the inside of the car apart and the bumper covers off to add it. Recommend against or go with the hybrid to get the feature built in. 1.5T is more powerful than the standard engine in the 2009 model. Noise abatement is much better in 2020 model. Save yourself about $12K versus an Acura RDX. We own a 2019 RDX with the Advanced option as well unless you need the engine power of a 2.0T. CR-V Touring AWD drives very nicely. Good pickup entering the interstate highway from 50 to 70 MPH. Learn about all of the features and benefits, align to your needs, and drive the vehicle at least 10 miles before you buy one.

Love my silver lining CRV
For the price of the EX model you get so many bells & whistles. Love all the safety features. Very comfortable on a trip, plenty of leg & headroom. Sits up high, giving you great visibility. So quite when driving on highway with 18 wheelers going past. Feel so safe! Great vehicle, if you are looking to purchase a SUV, the CRV is a great choice. Test drive one you will see what I am talking about.

2020 CRV EX
Car is easy to drive. It takes a while to get use to the informational display. Make sure you know how to use it before going on a trip. Owners manual text is easy to read but the pictures of the controls are too dark and small . Honda should do a better job preparing the visual aids. Utube certainly helps but often the presenters go too fast and several passes maybe required for some people to fully grasp all the information. This SUV rides well and can accommodate 5 people and luggage. Safety features are very good on the car. Primary on road car. If you plan to do off roading a lot, recommend AWD version. Additionally, if you travel in cold weather and routinely have back seat passengers the EXL trim provides heated rear seats. For long trip the drivers’ left leg needs to be able to stretch out more.

Somewhat Disappointing
When I test drove the vehicle I noticed road noise but ignored it on the short drive. I should have been more careful as this vehicle's road noise is significant and my biggest complaint. The center console armrest doesn't lock so it can move unexpectedly under your elbow. I don't like that the rear seat headrests interfere with viewing out the back window. I also find the front seats harder and narrower than the Jeep Cherokee I traded in. This model does have some nice features I never had in my other vehicles but they take getting used to.
Love it but beware when washing your CRV
I recently purchased the 2020 CRV. Love the drive, the features and comfort. However on two occasions while hand washing the vehicle, the hatch would open. Not sure why but I am now concerned about going through a car wash. Anyone have this issue? If so what did you do to fix it.

Pandemic purchase
I needed a reliable car as my 2003 Toyota RAV was totaled. I really could have driven her forever. By the time I received cash out the governor closed the state. Essential workers were allowed to buy yet trying to get a dealership to do it was insane. I finally received immediate help from Wenatchee and was in my new car in a week! This car is an absolute dream. Excellent handling of corners, freeway acceleration. No road noise. Climate control immediate. Heated seats are delightful. Love the leather seats. Elevated gear shift is really neat. Color: Sonic Grey Pearl. I am very happy with this car!

Best choice!
After test-driving Honda CRV, Toyota Rav4, and Hyundai Tuscon/Santa Fe the clear winner was Honda. It was the roomiest and drive the smoothest. Also, the dealership we dealt with was hassle-free and extremely professional.

CRV - Outstanding
Leased on June 1, 2020. Had concerns about the 1.5 liter turbo not having enough power. To my pleasant surprise, the cars gets moving quickly and handles great. The overall ride is excellent and very roomy. I would highly recommend the CRV to anyone in need of an AWD SUV. My rating of the CRV a 5 + , great crossover.

Great all-around car
This car holds everything that we need it to hold, which is why we bought it to begin with. It accelerates very smoothly because it has a CVT and at a decent rate. My wife thinks it is slow because she is accustomed to our previous car that had a normal automatic. I really like the car a lot because of the features that it has that were considered super-luxury as recent as five years ago, such as adaptive cruise control and lane-keep assist as well. Honda's great reputation is the cherry on top.

Auto engine idle shutoff is DANGEROUS.
I will start with the -1st, and it is a very important thing to consider. Auto engine shut off when idling is an extremely dangerous future when it cannot be disabled as a default. Every time you restart your vehicle this feature is auto enabled, if you forget to disable it you will inevitably have your engine shut off when you do a quick stop before moving into an intersection. This means you have no power your car is delayed in momentum and any speed that you anticipated is stripped away. If you live in a busy city with lots of intersections that you need to pull into this is extremely dangerous. I decided to write this review after I almost was hit in an intersection because of this “feature”. And of course I would be at fault, even though the reason is that my engine shut off at the exact moment I went to press the gas pedal, When it finally decided to move it kind of sputtered me into the oncoming traffic This is an extremely easy fix and future revisions, which would simply see the ability to permanently disable this feature as a default, rather than having to remember this every single time you get into your vehicle. It is a feature that is designed to basically Improve needed for consumption when selling the vehicles, But in many cases has little effect. And may actually lead to more engine wear anyways. Now for the positives, extremely sturdy quiet ride. Sportier drive than the Toyota RAV4, no cheap materials inside. Very comfortable and ergonomically. I have spent months driving the competition from various companies. And realize that this is the superior option. Most importantly most of the features you want to come as a base, whereas with the competition you have to move up several models, and therefore price, to get the same features

Can't Go Wrong with This Honda
6+ Months update: I’ve put on close to 7K miles in about 6 months... Still no complains! I have also discovered the magic of Lane Keep Assist!! I will however say that the seats can feel uncomfortable if you’re sitting in there for 6+ hours. Bring some extra cushions for your tailbone! Mechanically, no complaints so far. Acceleration has gotten better with time, I swear. Gas mileage is a little lower than I expected but oh well. I used to be able to drive over 300+ miles across the state on 2/3 tank of gas (in a Civic & Accord) but now it takes the full tank to do the same drive so I end up filling up again. I know it’s a bigger car, AWD and all that factors in but still a little disappointed. Just a little. Otherwise, I’m still happy with it and still worth the 5 stars. I bought this car after trying to decide between EX & the EX-L. The AWD provides a comfort and sense of safety that most FWD can't give. I ended up with the EX-L because of the additional safety features it came with. I'm not a fan of leather seats or leather interiors in general but in this car, it felt pretty good. The front seats warm up so as the main driver, this is perfect-o. My hubs and I have had so much fun personalizing the touch screen interface (you can even change the background - whaaaat!!) and listening to music with the 8 speakers. Hondas aren't known to be luxurious cars but the 2020 CRV has really amped up its affordability and the feeling of royalty when you're in the car.

Front was small; touch-screen only option for AC/R
I know Honda makes a great car, however, I was surprised by how crammed the front felt once inside. We actually found the HR-V to have more (or at least felt like more) space to the front. We also did not like that Radio/AC/Heat were all touch-screen with no knobs. Only the base models have knobs. Salesman said it was important to buy extended warranty because his Honda's touch-screen needed repaired 6 months after warranty. He stated that the touch-screen breaks often, leaving you with no knob to adjust/turn on/off. Only option is replace immediately. We chose not to purchase and ended up purchasing a 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer RS instead. Roomier, nicer overall features, touch-screen and knobs and same price for a sharper looking vehicle.

CR-ME
I bought a Honda CR-V back in 2006 and I’ve owned up until September. One owner, sold it with only 138,000 miles for $5600. It was sad so I started looking at brand new CR-V’s and I saw a 2020 CR-V for sale me in the color blue. I test drove it and before I knew I was buying it. Payed $29,000 and now I’ve owned it for 3 months and I have 2,334 Miles on it. Haven’t had one issue, fuel economy is great. Love all the technology and stuff. I can already CR-ME a future with this.

QUIETER THAN MY 2017 CR-V
The sound system in the 2020 Honda CR-V seems much more refined than my previous 2017 CR-V. This vehicle is also a little quieter than the previous one. I was able to lease my CR-V for considerably less than the Edmuns’s estimated cost for a 36 month lease. My salesman Tom at PAGE HONDA, Bloomfield Hills, MI took great care of me.

Avoid Lunar Silver Paint Color
After my purchase of a Lunar Silver EX, neighbors noted that the paint on the plastic front bumper and rear quarter-panels doesn’t quite match the paint on the doors and other metal panels. The paint on the plastic panels has a noticeably different color and reflectivity. It may not be noticeable on the dealer’s showroom, but it becomes obvious in the light of day. It looks like a poorly executed repair job. Once you notice it, you can’t un-see it. Photos on various dealer websites suggest that this is a universal problem – a problem which does not exist with other manufacturers.
2020 Honda CRV Safety features
I purchased my 2020 Honda CRV in June. Had our first snow in Colorado yesterday. Was driving when all the dashboard lights went on and the message was the radar was disabled hence all safety features were disabled. I pulled over called the dealership service department and the service technician confirmed thats what happens in snow and heavy rain and my safety features would remain disabled until the computer recycled. I bought the Honda for its safety features especially during bad weather. My car has only 2k miles and I am stuck with this lemon as there is no recall. If you purchased your car for safety do NOT buy a Honda.
Money horribly SPENT!!!!!!!!!!
We bought this CR-V on August 13,2020 and since then it has done some crazy things such as for NOT STOPPING when its supposed to, and the RADIO NOT WORKING more than three times. I can count at least four times that we will be driving down the road and nothing will be around us (nobody in front of us, other lanes, or anything) and the CR-V will just come to a sudden STOP and have "BRAKE" across the dash in orange letters for no apparent reason. This is a real safety concern for me and my family, this needs to be brought to someone's immediate attention (which I did and know nobody seems to care) or HONDA can have this DEATH TRAP BACK!!!!! I will not be a victim to a vehicle stopping or not stopping when it's supposed to for that matter, or have my fiancé driving this back and forth to the hospital everyday and not know if this will be the day that she won't return because SUV that we bought has decided to have a OFF DAY and stop doing what its supposed to do. I turned it into a dealership on November 2.2020 and had NOTHING repaired after twenty-two days, our car sitting in the back lot for days getting covered in dirt and grime, I believe that this a breach of CONTRACT, of the WARRANTY SIDE, when we bought this car we signed to pay for this BRAND NEW SUV covered by a FULL WARRANTY, and then we bring it in for WARRANTY ISSUES, and then "HONDA & HONDA DEALERSHIP' tells me after twenty-two days that they are not going to do anything about the WARRANTY ISSUES. We have supplied VIDEO PROOF of the problems, and they still act like we are stupid, this does NOT SIT WELL WITH US. I spoke to the service manager today about the REMOTE START not working sometimes, and he informed me sometimes and I quote: "Sometimes you have to lock, then unlock, then lock it again before the remote start will work", I said do what? He said that is how HONDA MAKES THEM, I said you know that isn't right, it's called a remote start for a reason not lock, unlock, lock remote start!!!!! This is what I'm talking about, things like this where service writers and service MANAGERS think they can say whatever and the problem will just go away, well I'm not the kind of person that likes to be taken advantage of,or that will take any answer that they want you to give to make you go AWAY. I also brought my CR-V in for the Adaptive Cruise Control not working correctly, I emailed pictures to my service writer, and then Honda said they was not going to do anything about this issue either because they couldn't get it to do it again. Well the pictures DON'T LIE, I had the car set at four lines (four car lengths) and the picture definitely shows that we are NOT four car lengths away from the car in front of us (when I had to smash the brakes to keep from rear ending the truck in front of us). So what are we supposed to do, not use the features that we bought on the 2020 HONDA CR-V, because we are scared to death that it might just kill us one day? I'm going to be completely honest with you this SUV scares me to death with all its issues already this early in its life of ownership. I also have another question does anyone else's CR-V do this: why when we are driving down the road, say we are going east and another car is going west the CR-V will just BEEP for not apparent reason, it's like the blind spot monitoring is picking up the other side of the road and it shouldn't make the car beep if the car isn't on our line of sight. Ownership of this HONDA has been an ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE for our family. Cause I know we were told that the CR-V would get 30 mpg and we have NEVER got close to that (the best we ever got is 28.6mpg @45mph), EVER. So I'm starting to wonder about a lot of things. A 2020 CR-V EX-L AWD with 5004 miles and already a DEATH TRAP and a lot of ISSUES, is not a good look for either HONDA itself. At this rate I should have kept my 2018 Honda Accord 1.5T Sport. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY BUYING THIS SUV!!!!

13 days from buying new and issues with start up.
I bought a new Honda CR-V ex-l awd on November 14th and so far I have noticed a few issues. When using Siri to make a phone call, there would be a display with a person speaking usually, but sometimes the display will just flicker on and off with the mileage. I tried to take a video, but it wouldn’t work since I’m trying to use Siri and it cancels the Siri command. The second issue is when I turned off my car, I noticed all the lights were off. I heard no beeps when exiting. I tried going back in the car and pressing the brakes and start up button and nothing. The button was black. When I pressed the button it just illuminated white around the ring and was blinking. I tried pressing the overhead light and it would not turn on. I called the dealership and they said it was most likely a dead battery due to the car being on the lot. They gave me roadside service number and I called them. They said 60 minutes. I waiting and called them after 1 hour and 15 minutes and they said it’d take 45 minutes. After waiting 2 hours, I wanted to sit more comfortably and the automatic position for the seats worked. At that point I pressed the brakes and the display showed to press button to start. Voila. It started. I drove to grocery store with my grandpa in the car, but did not turn the car off. I tried opening the trunk with the button at the handle and it would not open. I opened my front door and had to press unlock and then the trunk opened. Once I got home I turned the car off and opened the trunk. When I was about to close the trunk, the trunk button was red and light went out. The car would not start again. Light buttons wouldn’t work and the seat positions wouldn’t work. I had to manually close the trunk. I then opened and closed the front driver door and the display for a Honda went on and the car turned on. I was able to lock the doors and now I’m waiting to go to the dealership. While I was in my car waiting for roadside assistance, I called one of the employees at the dealership who had called and left a message on how I liked my car. I spoke about how it would not start up and why my brand new car (which I bought 13 days ago and had only 5 miles on it) wouldn’t start. I told him the dealership said it’s probably the battery. I asked why my brand new car didn’t have a brand new battery. He said they check the car batteries, but at this time their machine isn’t working. Seriously? They out right sold me a lemon then. I will be coming in to the dealership tomorrow and will see if I need to change my review. I should not be having to jump start my brand new car or have to deal with this while I have a toddler in my car.

Not what I expected!
Just bought this vehicle a couple months go and am not impressed at all! This SUV is a slug. Has no power at all and to make things worse, it has that auto engine shut off when idled at stoplights which is so useless and annoying when having to hit the button Everytime to turn it off! It is actually a safety hazard since this vehicle has no get up and go when pulling out in traffic and e en worse and more dangerous when there is that 1-2 second stall because of the auto engine shut off. I almost been t-boned a couple times already! Also the climate control is very confusing because there is two to have to figure out . Bluetooth is worthless for me because I can't listen to the radio while trying to Gps thru it. The vehicle constantly beeps multiple times when I get out and shut the door. Have no idea why. Many times the door don't open automatically when. I come up to it to get in and I have to make several attempts. My pants leg always gets caught on some plastic piece under the seat when getting out. Gas mileage isn't much better than that the 6 cylinder nissan I had. I will sacrifice a couple miles per gallon for more speed and pick up any day. Also when the seats are down in the back for cargo space which I need, there is an incline and stuff slides down. Also wondering why there is this olast bar with a flap on it supposedly there to cover or hide your groceries or whatever in the very back? Why?? Totally useless piece that I just removed. I strongly recommend not to buy this vehicle unless you enjoy slowness and useless functions.

After much, way too much, reading reviews, and then dealing with dealers, finally, finally-made decision to replace my 06 Civic-with a 2020 CRV LX. Very happy so far. Did get windows tinted, though. 1500 miles no issues. Averaging 37 mpg on my 92 mile daily commute. And yes It is COVID Red!

2020 Honda CR-V radio defect
Don’t buy a 2020 Honda CRV! I purchased my 2020 Honda CRV from Gunn Honda and immediately noticed a very loud static buzzing sound coming from my radio every time I drove by a radio or cell antenna tower. It is so loud that I can’t hear what is being said on the talk show. I took my 2020 Honda CRV into the Gunn Honda Service department and they tested the radio along with another new 2020 Honda CRV. Their conclusion was that the radio in all 2020 Honda CRVs makes a loud buzzing static sound when driving by a radio or cell tower. So they said they could not fix the radio and justified their decision by using the disclaimer that says that the radio may experience static noise. Even Honda Corporate refused to help. I have only bought Honda’s and none of the others ever had this problem. I would never have bought this car if they had told me about the radio problem up front.
Inspect vehicle thoroughly before accepting
Our 2020 CR-V EX-L's hood is significantly misaligned. Gap on the passenger side is 2mm, driver side is 6 mm and hood is canted with the driver side obviously higher than the passenger side. Having to jump through hoops to get resolved. Very disappointed.

Amazing family car for the $
I've been driving Hondas since my first one, a new 1990 Civic hatchback. While I miss the basic zen simplicity of that car, I must say that Honda has never let me down. 8 new Hondas over 30 years. We just bought a 2020 CR-V LX for my wife, and I am taking over her 2017 CR-V LX. The 2020 version is the same, with "refinements". They took a great car, added some extra stuff as standard. I only wish they hadn't abandoned the 2.3 liter base engine, but the 1.5 turbo doesn't feel underpowered.

A trendy vehicle for people of all ages!
I love the new updated look of the CR-V, I thought the 2020 was super cute with the “flower” rims. I got white exterior, black cloth interior EX trim, I love it! It has heated seats, a moonroof, apple car play, a smooth ride that absorbs most impurities in the road and has amazing reliability. I’ve had mine three weeks now and have driven it 2400 miles and still continue to love it. This vehicle has a trendy body to it that can fit a teenager but can also fit somebody who’s old. I get plenty of compliments on it, I love the DRL, they really add an accent to the front of the vehicle and the rear has the taillights slightly blacked out? It’s a very nice look. I hope to love my CR-V for a long time, I have been dedicated to civics for years but I was ready for a roomier vehicle. I’d comment on how the acceleration is kind of poor at times but it’s also not a hot rod and it has amazing gas mileage for an SUV. Also, a quick shoutout to Smart Honda in Clive, IA. I had a very good experience, had to get rid of my 2016 toyota rav4 it was a death trap and I was not getting any assistance from the Toyota of Des Moines dealership even under warranty.. but have purchased from This Honda dealership before and they provide outstanding service and hire great people. They helped take care of the rest of the loan and get me into a safe new vehicle. Honda gang!

Almost great if you are all about practicality.
The good: - Good handling and cornering. Although I wouldn’t use the word enjoyable, the car is easy to drive. - Great quality interior. Not luxury, but well crafted and thought through. - Very comfortable seats for a tall adults, front or back. Memory seats are very convenient. - Pretty good fuel economy in stop and go traffic. - Lots of safety and driver assist tech and it works pretty well. - Very quiet interior but the engine noise ruins everything. - 4WD performs quite well in snow with winter tires. - Great looking exterior compared to competition but that’s subjective. - I really like the panoramic roof but appears it’s available only on Canadian models. The bad: - Very underpowered and very loud engine. I find it’s worse than the previous, non-turbo 2.4L. You have to floor the gas pedal and watch RPM go over 5-6K/min to accelerate quickly. Clearly Honda prioritized fuel economy. - Fuel economy suffers greatly on the highway. - I change winter tires myself and jacking points are very inconveniently located: it’s impossibly far on the front and you need something like an SUV adapter for the rear. Honda Canada couldn’t actually tell me what jacking points to use other than what’s used for changing flat tire on the side of the road and the dealership didn’t know either. Come on Honda Canada!! Luckily I found a TSB from Honda USA that tells you to use a rear tow hook as a rear jacking point, which is very high off the ground so you won’t be able to use a typical jack; you’ll need to use something that goes over 18” or has an adapter. 19” tires don’t help either. - “Premium” sound system is loud but not refined. All in all it’s a good choice if you are looking for a practical SUV and don’t mind loud engine noise. I didn’t find infortainment to be overly complex since you won’t be scrolling through options often. Most frequently used functions are easily accessible.

The good, and the needs improvement
The good - Honda is an excellent brand, the CR-V is reliable, holds its value, and is a solid vehicle. My wife prefers the CR-V over other similar vehicles from other manufacturers. I myself do not endorse the CR-V for the following reasons. First, I am tall and while the cabin is comfortable for me, the ergonomics of the pedals is poor. My size 14 feet do not fit well in the Honda and I find it awkward to drive. This has been true in this current CR-V as well as with an earlier model. The ergonomics of Nissan, Toyato, Ford, and Subaru are superior for me, and thus I will never buy a Honda for myself. The infotainment/touch screen system is bad. It is not at all intuitive and difficult to switch from say radio to playing something from your phone and then switching to another person's playlist on their phone. My Subaru Forester has physical buttons making such switches simple and easy, or you can use the touch screen in a way that is also easy and intuitive. I have lived in three different states and had various different brands of cars. With all the Hondas, at about 25,000 miles when I take it in for regular service, they come tell me that there is debris in the fan/heating system, probably from mice. I will need to pay $275 for them to install a 50 cent screen to prevent future such nest making. Why isn't this little screen just installed at the factory, I ask? No answer. None of the other car brands I have owned have this issue, but all the Hondas do, regardless of the state where I'm living. So if you buy a Honda, count on this additional cost. Annoying. The Honda is a very good car despite these issues, and if you like it, you can't go wrong getting one. The poor design of the pedal area for someone my size makes it an easy "no thanks" for me. After driving other brands and then sometimes driving my wife's CR-V, I would rather be in a Toyota or Subaru. Shop and test drive for yourself.

uncomfortable seats
my family and i all agree that the seats in the crv are very uncomfortable. i did not notice when test driving or i may not have bought the car. the backs are ok but the bottom seats are hard like sitting on a bench at a football game. my son said his back hurts after sitting on it. we are going to try thicker cushions since a thin cushion did not seem to help. i am very disappointed after spending alot of money. also cannot see out of back windows when backing up as well as we could out of our 2017 ford escape which also had comfortable seats.

Not worth for money
I bought a new CRV 2020 EX L model and I got issues in display navigation system within a month. Also there are lot of issues in Apple CarPlay. If I give my vehicle to the service center to fix the issue then they are not testing the issue properly and I am not satisfied with this vehicle at all. In online review seems to be great but in reality it’s waste. I can’t give rating more than 2.

Falls short
I traded in Lexus RX 450h for this car on a recommendation of a friend and I was disappointed. The electronics are slow and below Hondas standard, the driver assistance works only when the lines are brightly painted on the streets, it has veered over the line several times but is normal according to Honda. It has excellent fuel economy and great handling and comfortable to drive, however there are several items on this car that are just below the mark of good quality. I guess you get what you pay for. Already looking for a new car after 8 months of ownership.

We're Honda Happy
Liked the style of the CRV, along with easy to use interior layout. The turbo/cvt combo provides ample power and a smooth ride. The dealer was great to work with and Hondas followup after the purchase has been impressive.

Short legs
If your over 6 feet walk away the shifter digs into your right knee. This vehicle is for slim people only. If there was an two inches more of leg room and two more inches in with in the front seat would be find. It's quiet with great trunk space. Did I mention slow and seat material pills up in the front edge.

Beware of 1.5 turbo engine
Honda needs to solve the problems that they’re having with their 1.5 turbo engines. I intended to purchase a new 2020 CR-V, but when I learned of the problems that are occurring with the 1.5 turbo engine, I changed my mind. In some cases, gas is getting into the oil.

The little engine that CAN'T!
Having to frequently change my batteries because new ones would die in just a few days was just the start of my nightmare. I would stay away from this vehicle by all means. I started having trouble with the battery at first where not even jumping it could get it to start back up. Then the poor touchscreen issues happened. The acceleration was rated to be better then years prior and I think thats a load of crock. Its almost scary to turn out into traffic with the delay it has. I've heard that Some Honda CR-V drivers are haunted by a phantom check engine light that appears on their cluster display. But mine had them all come on, and stay on. It is now at honda once again. Trying to return the car as I write this.

2020 Blue Beauty
This is a smooth riding car. The warranty is outstanding...lifetime warranty on powertrain, engine and transmission.
Honda Crv
The Honda CRV has the worse ac system i have ever seen in any vehicle ever and will not cool after about 25.ooo miles and i have not only experienced this but ever person i have talked with has said the same thing. The honda makers should do a recall and fix this problem big time because people pay alot for this vehicle and the ac stops cooling with very few miles on it. I would not recommend this vehicle unless you plan on spending a lot of money to get your ac repaired after about 25.000 miles.

Tech was disappointing
Negotiated an outstanding deal -- really. Even had Honda run the hard credit. But on the test drive the LKAS couldn't find the road under conditions my 3 yo Toyota would have had no problem with. It has the tech but it doesn't work.
No Heat
Don’t buy if you live in colder climates. They lose heat when you stop for any reason. It won’t warm up if you just idle. Then it leaks gas into the oil due to this issue. Honda says that’s just the way they are, just change your oil more frequently than the recommended is there fix. However it should be simple for them to fix it right, the engine is just running to rich. The service writer at the dealership said he fixed his by putting a performance programer on his. But that will void your warranty then showed me pictures of other customers with gas in the oil. Worst vehicle I have ever owned. It might be why they have a lot of them on the lot.

Early Ownership Impressions
Overall a great compact SUV. I am not sold on four cylinder turbo-charged engines as they are just not as smooth as normally aspirated 6 cylinders at idle or in acceleration, and it shows under acceleration, yet better fuel economy is the reward. We have yet to take a long trip in this CRV EX-L, so my comments are limited to stop and go urban/suburban driving impressions. Comparing this to my primary drive, a Lexus RX-350, this is not as refined nor as quiet, yet offers comparable (if not more practical cargo area) interior room. My wife left a V6 Hyundai Santa Fe for this, and candidly, somewhat misses the Santa Fe as it was a little taller and gave her a more commanding view of her surroundings. The audio system in each of these is superior to the CRV's. I guess one has to step up to the Limited trim to get a sub-woofer and better sound quality. These things stated, there is good, useful room inside the CRV and it is fairly comfortable to drive. Its Honda-Sensing Suite not only enhances safety, it also results in the lowest insurance premium we've ever had for a new vehicle. In its segment, the CRV EX-L is a good choice.

Still enjoy it every day
Happy with the features that are included with the CRV EXL vs other brands in its price range. And the CRV has a much improved ride and the road noise is minimal. The turbo 4 has plenty of acceleration for our needs. Only issue is the high cost of such things as an added tow hitch - much too expensive via Honda installed. And stock tires are not great quality for wear. $30,000+ should by multiple options, but this is the game all of the car manufacturers and dealers play. But overall, very happy with it. We finally found a different color than the usual blah Honda color line - red with gray interior. Nice Honda. Now bring out some green shades. Fun to drive. Backup break squeak is frustrating, and a Honda shop says that is “just characteristic of Honda”, which is odd. Still going strong after 36000 mikes. Very good car. Replaced stock tires with some high grip Michelins and they made a huge difference in traction, but lost a mile or two in fuel economy-but worth it in snow country.
