Great car

It is compact SUV. Bigger space than car but not as big as mini van. Back seats are not that wide to hold three adults. I wish the front camera can show how close the car is to the sides of garage door frame and how close to the curb when parking

electronics have a mind of their own

A great car overall in all aspects - comfort, economy, handling, etc. But, I find the electronic features often have a mind of their own. I'm driving down the freeway with no other cars within a hundred yards of me and all of a sudden the orange "brake" warning light comes on. It goes off within a second or two. Also, driving along, the left turn blinker light in the left side mirror goes on and the warning beeper sounds. I haven't touched the turn signal lever and there are no cars to my left - zip, nada. Again, the light and sound go off in a couple of seconds. The brake thing has happened twice in the ten months or so I've owned the vehicle and the turn signal thing happens about once a week. In addition to these issues, twice I've had the "low tire pressure" light go on, the first time causing me to get off the freeway only to find the tires all look perfectly fine. I put a spritz of air in them and re-set the warning light and all is well until the same thing a few months later. I think there's either a malfunction or the sensor is too sensitive to a loss of 1 or 2 psi. The most recent kerfuffle was finding all four windows down and the sunroof wide open upon going out to my car in the morning. I've since learned that it's an issue with my key fob - holding down the unlock button too long - I guess something pushed against it while it was in my pocket. Overall, I have to say it's a great car and I'm glad I bought it but the electronic features are a nuisance, especially the "safety" issues that put me into a near panic mode thinking I'm missing something when there's nothing there to miss. I'm also disappointed there is no cd player. Come on Honda, you can do better. Updated review. There are now 13,000 miles on the vehicle and the electronics issues stated above seem to have repaired themselves - only one fake turn signal light and no fake brake warning light. The tire pressure light was my fault - there was a nail in the tire and no more issues once I got the tire repaired. I have some mild concern about the reports of gas in the engine oil that is causing some recalls but my vehicle hasn't had any of those issues yet. So far, it's still a great car and I'm glad I bought it. A new wrinkle. I've always noticed there is a time delay between putting the car in "drive" and the transmission actually engaging. The delay isn't long, maybe a second or so. It was never a problem until a few days ago when I was on a steep hill. Without thinking, I put the car in drive, stepped on the gas and discovered how far a car can roll back in that one second delay. Of course I now know better but I've never had that problem with other cars including other Hondas. Also, I don't use half the electronic dash features nor have I consistently figured out how to reset displays, etc. It's all trial and error for me. Of course being in my 70s and electronically challenged, it's mostly my fault I suppose. I just wish new cars were simpler. Otherwise the Honda is going fine - no problems (except the occasional light glitches mentioned above. Latest update, still have my Honda and it's running great. No new issues except the plastic button on the gear shift broke. I taped it together and drove to a dealer (Dublin Honda, CA) and they replaced it at no cost. Overall a great car and the earlier issues seem to have gone away. Latest update: Still going strong - no issues except for that darn tire pressure warning. Otherwise I'm happy with it.

Be sure to evaluate the seats before buying. These seats are on the narrow side and thus not comfortable for everybody. Fortunately, I was able to use the power seat adjustments to find a comfortable position. My husband also says he is not cramped like he was in our previous car. Overall, I have no complaints with this car. It’s dependable and really meets our needs. Hope to enjoy it for many years to come!

Vastly Improved....

Other shoppers should know before buying this CR-V that its a huge improvement over the outgoing model, in looks, quality and ride handling. The CR-V does many things well. The seats are some of the most comfortable Honda offers, the looks present a more formidable appearance and the ride feels secure at highway speeds and handling is pretty decent. Underneath the hood is a 190 HP 1.5 Turbo engine with a CVT transmission. Acceleration is very good for a vehicle in this category and as good as that CVT unit is, nothing will take the place of a geared transmission. Inside, several things Id like to see added for the price point of the touring are a Heated Steering wheel, ventilated seats and a panoramic sunroof. A CD player has been left out of this generation!! Really? All in all, the CRV does what its supposed to do, looking and feeling good the whole time. One place, for me at least where I would like to see some improvement and it may come in time is an increase in fuel economy. Im not seeing the #s advertised. Usually 27.8 has been close to my avg with highway driving pushing 30mpg.

Grappone Honda, and Shirley, Paige, and Cathy in particular, made the buying experience an enjoyable one. It was a no-pressure and friendly experience. The sticker price on the new CRV and the trade-in offer were very good and eliminated a painful negotiation. This is the first Honda we have ever owned and it is the most comfortable. We purchased it because my wife will be driving her elderly father to appointments soon and we need a vehicle that is easy to get in and out of. Further, I always struggle with comfort because of my height and the CRV is comfortable and a joy to drive. Great buying experience and a great vehicle!

CVT plus turbo lag = poor performance

Car fanatic, 04/16/2017

I really liked everything about the 2017 CRV, materials, comfort, safety features etc. That was until I did a test drive. On the street it felt heavy and somewhat underpowered. On the freeway, it was really bad. The midrange power and torque is really inadequate. If I wanted to speed up, I would press the accelerator and the SUV would start to accelerate but then the CVT "upshifted a gear". I would then have to press the gas pedal further but the same problem would recur again and again. There is no sport mode to make the CVT hold a "gear". This was really bad. The sales person also admitted that there's always a delay with the CVT which is then aggravated by turbo lag plus the CVT always moving "up a gear" making the engine bog down. Great for mileage, bad for driving. My driving is between Los Angeles and Las Vegas, as well as Los Angeles to Mammoth, so there are hills, steep grades and passing. So this SUV is not suitable for my driving conditions and style.

The redone in 2017 Honda CRV is a great car. Instrumentation including the introduction of CarPlay makes it flawless with my phone and makes for an easy drive. It has a lot of automatic features (ACC, LKAS, and even auto brights) that make driving it a breeze. I've taken it on several longer trips and it has a huge amount of cargo space even with the back seats in use. Couldn't be happier with it. Also, all of the adjustments available for the seat and steering wheel make it comfortable for all the varied height drivers in me house (4'9"-6'2") which is saying something! It's been 6 months and still love the car. Our family of 5 (and out luggage) fit perfectly on a recent vacation. I've had no problems whatsoever and am thrilled with the purchase.

From the test drive to almost two thousand miles of driving this vehicle, I feel more comfortable and in control than I have in previous cars I have owned for a few years. I can manuever into extremely small, tight places with ease. I can park amazingly well using the rear view camera, The ride is so wonderfully smooth and quiet. I feel so safe with my nine and seven year old in the rear seat, and my two Standard Poodles teathered in the hatch. When I walk out of the grocery store, I can't help but giggle a little inside realizing that the strikingly beautiful, shiny car parked in the lot is actually mine!!

The test drive and my salesman were the clincher on my search between the HRV and CRV. I was wanting to upgrade from my 10 year old Honda Fit. Love the reliability of the Honda so wanted to stay with the same brand. CRV was a smooth ride and the "standard" features were just what I wanted without paying too much. Heated seats, sun/moon/power roof, bluetooth, cargo space, roomy rear seat, power, power, power and more!

Hood and tailgate came misaligned from the factory. Large gap on one side and almost touching the surrounding body panel on the other side for the hood. Tailgate flush to surrounding body panel on one side and inset with larger gap difference on the other side. Dealership acknowledged issue but diverted me to Honda to resolve. Usually this is something you only need to look for in a Used vehicle to check if it has visited a body shop before. Not something that crosses your mind to look for with a new vehicle. Overall driving is good but does have more road noise than an MDX or larger vehicle. Gas mileage is good. Interior is nicely laid out. CarPlay works great for navigation and playing music from Amazon Prime or Pandora. Bluetooth phone works great using an iPhone 6s or newer. Heater painted on lines on back tailgate window peel off if the dealer tapes your temporary license on the lines.

There isn’t much this car lacks. The control panel could have a more user friendly design. The interface has a steep learning curve and it could have been simplified. Finding a bit more road noise than I like but I am still in love with the car!!

This is a beautiful vehicle and with high technology. The only problem I had with mine is the seat just was not comfortable. Not enough Padding on the seat so it was not comfy with a bad back. Ride is a standard SUV ride, not smooth like a nice sedan. I purchased it after having a Kia Soul. The Kia had next to no storage behind the back seats. While searching for an SUV I looked for the one with the most storage behind the back seat. I traded my 2017 Honda at Smart Motors in Madison with only 7300 miles it if you are looking for a great car and the seat is good for you. I traded up to a Camry XLE Hybrid. Camry seats comfy, ride is very smooth and gas mileage is like I've never had before.

2017 Honda CRV (touring) is my third Honda. Unfortunately, it will be my last. With the numerous electronics issues and gas in the oil I've had enough of Honda. Unfortunately the USA will allow Honda to sell this junk in the states with all of the known issues. China refuses to allow Honda to sell these hehicles until the issues are resolved. I've had blind spot sensor issues with less than 3k miles. Control panel brightness issues. Now after 107K miles I've got undetermined issues with several alarms going off. I'm done with Honda, they are obviously to complacent with there vehicles. HONDA CARS ARE JUNK.

In the past, I always bought one year old Chrysler products with minimum options as they had low resale and I could buy them for short money. Worked for me as a sales guy pounding on the miles. This changed when I watch a Toyota Camry ad on television showing the auto braking saving a family from a collision due to inattention. Acknowledging my age I felt the others on the road deserved for me to have these "extra eyes" helping. Also I live on a large hill in snow country and although I have always made it home with FWD, the trip often involved "flying" the car over the hills. Decided I would rather be able to climb hills at a sane speed so went with AWD. Went shopping and tried all the CSUVs. My evaluation pointed to the Honda as having the best forward emergency braking, adaptive cruise, cross traffic and absolutely the best lane guidance. Only 1,000 miles down so far but no buyers regret whatsoever. The car is quiet enough, the automatic climate control has not been touched -- set to 70 and forget. Lane guidance is amazing, I can go through s bends with my hands off. (The car admonishes me to steer after a few seconds but stays in lane as long as there are stripes.) Mileage is pretty good for an AWD non aerodynamic box with upright seating -- 34 on highway and 29 all round with many short trip.

So far the best CR-V we owned

we have a 2017 CR-V and we live in Fargo, ND which is in the Midwest, it handle great on the road are auto start isn't the best for range. that your typical manufacture auto start but when you do use it. It takes in consideration on the temp outside to decide if you need the defrost on and heated seats or if you need AC for being a hot day. love the feature. as well half the time we are in a hurry in the summer we don't think to use it. but When your walking back to the CR-V on a hot day I take out my key fob tap then hold the unlock button and it will open all my windows to get the hot air out it. so I don't have to be in a hot car. but the ride is amazing, quit and great gas mpg for AWD.. and has tons of room in the back epically if you have a kid, we compared it to the Rav4 but its so small and is really tinning and way to light. and the Cr-V was heavy and came with a lot features like apple car platy and android auto and the safety is at the top rated. haven't had any issues and now owned it for about a little over a year now. I would Highly recommend the CR-V

This is our third CR-V in a row. Traded in our 2015 model on a 2017 CR-V Touring with every option on it. The 2015 had only 25,00 miles but I wanted the new safety features since my wife drives it withe the grandkids frequently in it. We have driven it 4,000 mile including one vacation trip which I drove. Despite the new turbo powered engine, it still feels underpowered to me, like our 2015 model did. It seems like you have to push too hard to make it get up and go, but admittedly I have been spoiled by my Toyota Tundra with a big V-8. The safety features are a big disappointment, since I bought this just for them. The front brake assist only works if the cruise control is on. If it is not on, you get only a big orange warning light on the dashboard that you are too close to the car in front of you. The Stay in You Own Lane assist, as I call it, will fight you if you use it (you can turn it off). It actually steers the car for you which is very annoying since you will be holding the wheel doing your own steering while the car wants to steel slightly differently. Lord help you if you want to change lanes without signalling. Then the wheel will vibrate to let you know what a law-breaker you are. My last complaint is the memory seat. If I run around doing errands, the seat memory button has to be pushed every time I get into the car, even if I was the last one to drive it. Most memory seats I know stay set until changed by another driver. Summary, we really like our CR-V, the cargo space, the reliability but hate the safety features. We should have kept our 2015 model and saved money.

Overall this car was a disappointment. I bought it mainly for the gas mileage. Honda claims it gives 28-32 mpg. I drive conservatively and I am lucky to get 22 mpg. I was expecting it to be a couple of miles under claimed values but not 10 miles. As far as I am concerned, Honda is false advertising.... Performance and material quality is not much better either.

New owners picked up a great deal on a closeout model year. There are no changes from 2017 to 2018. This SUV is very roomy from front seats to the cargo area. Ride is very comfortable and CVT transmission seems to be smooth. I will not nit pic much as it is not a Cadillac. The road noise some refer to is not that noticeable even on the highway. Crappy tires can cause road noise in any car. Don't let those reviews turn you away from checking out this SUV. So far I am satisfied. Cannot speak for reliability as Its our first Honda. Honda's reputation speaks for itself so I hope to find myself in that family of happy long time owners some day. Acceleration is adequate for its size. Still breaking it in so I have not really opened it up. Again its not a Cadillac or Porsche. The radio/entertainment system is nice. EX Model does have Sirius XM despite most window stickers do not tell you that. Yes it is somewhat tricky to use at first but you have to sit in the car with the salesman and go over the features before you leave the lot. The fabric appears to be strong and seats firm. There are a lot of positions the driver seat will adjust to. It has tilt and telescopic steering wheel as well. Only time will tell how it holds up but first impression is an everlasting one.

Just boarded still learning about it. I haven’t learned to fully use all the instruments in the car. However at this point I am most impressed with the mileage and the comfort of driving it. The seats are comfortable this front space is comfortable and I really enjoy driving this car. I am still getting used to the rear backup camera and the lane boundaries on the car. But so far I am thoroughly enjoying the process of getting to know my new car!

This car would probably be fine for me for short, (less than 15 min. trips). The drivers seat becomes very hard after sitting on it for any length of time. Wife drove down to Montgomery, Ala. this wkend and averaged 31.7 mpg @ 75 mph. I guess this is ok for an awd, although it would be nice if that 1.5 turbo was a little less thirsty. This seems to be a quality built vehicle, and it does drive quite nice. The front seats however, are terrible. I also am unimpressed with the audio sound. Honda should have a high-end system in the ex-l. In summary, I'm glad this is my wife' car and not mine.

just traded in an 08 highlander sport for crv ex-l.. this car is by far the best car i have ever owned- safety feature packed, nice interior, not a bunch of hard plastic, love the matte finish on the faux wood - only one complaint - they come with the cheapest floor mats i've ever seen .... purchased the all weather mats to throw over them because i suspect these that came with it won't hold up for a year or more..other than that minor issue the car is fantastic!!!

This redesigned CRV is what we've been waiting for. It's no longer the plain Jane of SUVs, but an example of current mechanical engineering with its Turbo engine and hi-tech applications on the dashboard. I love the side view mirrors/camera set-up. Has saved me from several expressway fender benders. The cruise control/distance link is super convenient and eases highway driving. Seat adjustments make it comfortable for all shapes/sizes. Don't let the controls overwhelm you, learn them one at a time. Dealer's help in setting them up is imperative. Update Nov 2020 Car is still operating beautifully at 4 yrs, with very few issues. Have had to have the computer adjusted a couple of times - warning signals come up on the dash - but dealer has taken care of those with no charge. Computer reprograms take a day so you need a loaner. Hwy gas mileage is excellent. City is around 20 miles/gal. Still love the cruise/distance control with lane spacing, especially for expressway driving. Turbo engine has me convinced. Plenty of pick-up when needed. I love this car. Nov 2021 Still going strong at 4 yrs. No major problems other than AC condenser had to be replaced. Mileage is 28-29 mph. Warranty has expired so hoping to avoid out-of-pocket expensive computer reboots. I change the oil and do preventive maintenance. Worth it it the long run.

I only have 4,000 miles on this 2017, but it might very well become one of the best vehicles that I have ever owned. I now have 9,000 miles on my CRV. It is almost 1 yr. old. To date, it is flawless, zero problems. This small 1.5 turbo charged engine is awesome, pretty fast acceleration. It is supposed to yield better mpg than my 2014 did, but it is actually not quite as good, averaging only 34 mpg. The 2014, with the 2.5 engine got 36 in hwy. driving. I LOVE the CVT.

LOVE the mileage - getting 30 in town! Much better than my 2010 ford escape which I owned previously. Comfortable and fairly quite. Enjoy the heated seats but was driving over the holiday (outside temps in the teens) and it took a while for the interior of the car to warm up. Love the fit and finish, the interior, the outside color and grey interior, etc. The only real issue is that I have had a problem with the rear wiper - the bracket is broken and I've lost two wipers in the past month. The dealership has been good to replace but I've called them about getting another replaced and hope they will not only replace but fix the bracket in which it fits so I don't lose another.

We have all experienced having the thought of owning something being far superior to the actual possession. With the 2017 CR-V Touring model, this is definitely NOT the case. I am now four days into having traded in a 2013 CR-V EX-L for a 2017 Touring model I have lusted after this model since it was announced. The end of model year deals made the numbers finally work out. Nothing has disappointed me. I love the technology, comfort, looks, and performance. Took a day trip over the weekend and fell in love with the adaptive cruise control and lane keeping assistance features, These features make driving less tiring. The noise level has been reduced substantially. If I had to come up with a negative, it would be the lack of a selector knob on the radio. On occasion, it takes a little more driver involvement than one would prefer in order to change stations. Also, I haven't figured out yet if I can still use voice commands for changing stations. In summary, I cannot believe that anyone will be disappointed with owing one of these jewels. It's a year later now and nothing in my original opinion has changed. The vehicle is still a delight to drive. The only maintenance other than oil changes has been a free update to the navigation system. I still feel good every time I get in and go somewhere. This may very well be my favorite vehicle ever. Another year has passed, and there has been nothing that would alter my opinion. This vehicle remains one of the best car purchases I have ever made.

I have only owned Hondas since 1981. I owned a Civic (over 100,000 mi), an Accord (318,000 mi), and an Odyssey (359,800 and still going). This is the first Honda I purchased thinking I would trade it in in a few years on something else. There is much to like about the CRV, but the driver's seat is not comfortable compared to my Odyssey and other vehicles I tested and it is not as attractive as other 2017 makes and models. I also do not care for the sound system in the CRV. It sounds cheap. I decided on the CRV based on resale value.

After only 3 mo. the foot operated lift gate quit operating and needs to go into the shop for repair. This model has the top of the line stereo system and my $150.00 boom box puts it to shame. Extremely dissatisfied. Had a 2001 Toyota Camry and it far outperformed this unit. On a scale of 1-10 I would rate it as a 4. The shift mechanism is a bit cheap as has way too much plastic and is a bit wobbly. Not nice and smooth operating. Extremely pleased with the quality of the rest of the interior. Very comfy seats, sits up nice thus providing good view. So far the traction with AWD really seems good in snow. Interior is quiet at highway speeds. Wind noise is quite minimal.

BEWARE of 1.5L Turbo crv ex....junk.

Bought a 2017 crv ex. Lower case letters because this model is absolute crap; from victory honda san bruno, California. Purchased new. Including the maintenance Docs program. In short; after putting 22k miles on it, the computer system (our dash board) had to be re-booted at the dealership 4 times. On the fourth visit, the service tech noticed the severe, super rough idling when the car first starts up in the am. After warming up the car for at least ten minutes the rough idling dissipates. Service tech advised us, "this is not a normal idling condition." Then service tech could not look further into problem until Monday. (this was Saturday, and our fourth visit in 9 days.) Was advised that problem is condensation (or water) is mixing in with the motor. Problem cannot be resolved quickly. Furious; knowing that this turbo pos, may have water leakage in the head- which may mean a teardown; and then a possible "litigation process against honda"; I know for sure honda mgmt knows about this- and they're just ignoring the few sour apples, for now. In short; we dumped the pos crv, (and mistakenly, but I really had no choice), ended up trading it back for a 2019 Pilot Touring with a V-6. Yes, I still ended up with a honda, but not a turbo. We currently have 9k miles on our Pilot. The computer is telling us our 10k service must be done now. Bottom line; stay away from turbo. And maybe stay away from honda. Their service basically sucks.

I bought a used 2017 with 40,000 miles back in May 2019. I always loved Hondas until now. A couple of months after buying it, the air conditioner expansion valve started making noises. I was told by the dealership it would cost about $500 to repair due to the special process. I was stranded on a separate ocassion since the shifter would not get out of Park and had to get a plastic piece in the shifter replaced (this should have been covered by a safety recall since you can get stranded at any time!!!). The dealerships are helpful enough but Honda quality is not what is used to be. Needless to say, my next vehicle will be a Toyota...

The CRV is an exceptional vehicle. The performance is surprisingly good for a 1.5 turbo. The front seat comfort is excellent Fuel economy exceeds advertised MPG and the interval between service is great. The car is enjoyable to drive either around town or on the road. The only downside is the touch screen radio controls, it is necessary to take your eyes off the road to change radio stations, and the car lacks a CD player which makes my extensive CD collection obsolete. Also I have to re-connect my phone every time I start the car, but that is probably because I use an old flip-phone. The pros far out weigh the cons on this vehicle and I would purchase it again.

Not My 2006 Car Camping CR-V.

Flyfisher, 08/09/2017
2017 Honda CR-V LX 4dr SUV AWD (2.4L 4cyl CVT)
7 of 18 people found this review helpful

I was so excited to learn there was a redesign for the 2017 model. The day they arrived at the lot, I test drove an LX and an EX. We all know what is good: cargo space, mpg, safety. With the CVT, I am hoping we still have reliability and CR-Vs that last for 200k-300,000 miles, but too soon to tell. I sold my all-time favorite vehicle, a highly reliable 2006 CR-V that doubled as a fly fishing and car camping machine, to fellow fly fishing friends. Three years later, it operates w/o any problems. I sold it because I should've rust-proofed that Honda, but I didn't. ): In part because recent year CR-Vs dropped their earlier ground clearance, I bought a Subaru Outback. Great MPG, but I'm concerned about their CVTs, and the '06 CR-V was still a better outdoor person's suv than the Subaru, which is marketed to outdoor enthusiasts. There were too many little things that disappointed me in the 2017 CR-V, and a few big things that don't suit my outdoor lifestyle, that led me NOT to buy the new CR-V. Boo! *1) No CD player... to play the audio books on those 4 to 8-hr car rides to my fishing destinations. 2) Annoying: no storage on LX behind driver's seat. Chintzy and impractical. Come on, Honda. That's where my maps go. *3) No option to use a key to start suv in any models except LX. What if battery dies or fob becomes defective, gets dropped in water? I want a key to most-reliably start the vehicle. 4) I'd love the choice of a mid-level suv that does NOT make me have a sunroof. 5) It seems that the light-colored exteriors no longer had black (dark), cloth interior options... Outdoorsy people can get dirty and/or wet pants and still need to sit on seats and drive vehicles. *6) If consumers all have to have touchscreens, how about angling them slightly downward or ? so the sun does not reflect off them into the driver's eyes??! And for that matter, can we get rid of the fake, reflective silver trim on the dash and center counsel? These, to me, are more important safety and comfort features than things like "acoustic glass". *7) Please, please, please give the 2018 CR-V fold-flat front seats like my '06 CR-V did and the current Rogue does!! With the fold-flat seat, I could car camp safely in passenger front/rear seat, leaving cargo area for cargo and allowing me to slip into driver's seat in case of safety needs/to drive away. I could also recline the rear seat and work on projects or read prior to going to sleep. The 2017 LX driver's seat almost folds flat enough, but serious padding would be needed for remotely comfortable sleeping. Fold flat seats also allow for hauling longer items for DIY projects. 8) Do you remember those hooks on the rear headliner of the '06 CR-V that were intended for use with child safety seats? Well, those hooks served other practical needs. I hung bungie cords from them, used Velcro on the headliner and attached bungies between the left and right passenger above-the-door handles to hang my fly rods in the compact '06 CR-V. Man, I miss that vehicle! No hooks on headliner of 2017 CR-V, but Rogue has one. Alas, Rogue is too small and I've heard rumors about CVT concerns there, too. Every part of me wants to own the reliable Honda CR-V again, but Honda started turning it more into a car as years went on. Now, with increased ground clearance and improved height cargo area, maybe Honda is getting more practical again and gearing their compact suv to people who really want the utility of an suv? Fold flat seats would go along way to make the suv more outdoors and DIY ready. And what other manufacturers are ditching the cd player?! Let's get that cd player back in the cabin. Thanks for letting me do this review!

I did a lot of research looking for a smaller suv. This car got my attention and after having it a month, it has kept my attention. It really is a great little car. There are no other cars in its class. I got a free life time warranty on motor, drive train ectopic. I also purchased a lifetime extended warranty. What a deal and no other warranty like this. I guess this shows exactly how dependable this Honda CRV really is. I highly recommend this car as it is far beyond the competition. You want be sorry with this car.

The car is great! We got it in Obsidian blue with gray cloth upholstery. Very comfortable ride and my achy back loves the heated seats. Electronic safety features are terrific. Lots of space inside. Downsides? Rear visibility and inadequate roof rack system. When we decided on the CR-V I decided to check out the car deals offered through Costco. Went to their website, entered what I was looking for and was given a dealer and person to meet. You must go to the dealership, show your Costco card and ID and then they show you a print out of their pricing. It was easily $400 less than the best deal I could get anywhere else. (When I gave the quoted price to another dealer they said the Costco dealer was "whoring up the market"! This was on a brand new model in short supply. At 7500 miles no major complaints. Took several long car trips and got 33 mpg! This is almost 50% better than our previous 2004 Mazda Tribute. The only knock I have is on entertainment electronics. The USB ports are very difficult to access in the center console and the Bluetooth is finicky about connecting to some devices. After one year of ownership and 13k miles absolutely no issues! Worked great in the snow in Yosemite this winter. Two years, 27k miles I am still very happy. Two points to watch for: If you are a very tall driver check out the drivers leg room. It maybe short for you. Also, the cabin is not as quiet as I would like. Maybe the tires, but it is annoying. Three year mark. Still a great vehicle with no serious complaints. I have really come to rely on the adaptive cruise control in heavy traffic. It is great at maintaining a safe distance to the car in front of me. 36k miles. No issues

This car (and maybe an angel or two) saved my life! I owned it for 6 months and absolutely loved driving it. The sensoring features on it kept me awake on my long commute to work. The off road departure, lane assist and cruise control pacing were/are a necessity for me now. I can't imagine driving without it. I was in a wreck where I rear-ended a vehicle sitting still on a dark, two-lane busy state route. I popped up over a hill and there was the car. There was not enough time to stop. My air bag deployed as I slammed into the back of the vehicle. The whole front end of the CRV was crushed and crumpled up to the windshield. I was perfectly fine - only one minor scratch on my hand. The amazing thing was I didn't even feel like I'd been in a crash. I didn't even get sore. The front end of the Honda totally absorbed the impact of the crash. After my new car was totaled, I bought another Honda CRV - 2018.

Excellent Vehicle for the $. Great comfort, storage capacity and visibility. Electronics and Climate control take some getting used to especially the climate control which is supposed to be dual but is difficult to operate. Fuel door is difficult to find/reach, buried on the left side lower panel near the floor this is something a driver uses constantly and should be placed in a more accessible area. Overall this is an outstanding vehicle with just a few quirks.

I had a long checklist of criteria and this hit the mark. I am still discovering things that this does! For example, I did not realize that the highbeams came on automatically and then reset when necessary. What a great feature! I needed something with power and good gas mileage and this definitely fits that bill.
