Used 2006 Honda CR-V Consumer Reviews
I love my CR-V!
My CR-V is so comfortable! Already took it too the beach, covered the inside with sand and it cleaned up so easily it looks brand new again. Went camping for a weekend, able to pack all of the supplies we needed, 3 kids in the back and still had room for more stuff. Brightness of headlights is wonderful. Smooth ride. Changing gears was a breeze, like I've always been driving it. The safety features are wonderful. Gas mileage is OK, but that is because I am coming from a coupe. I've caught myself going 85 and not even knowing it. It has so many unnecessary features, that it makes this SUVvery necessary.
2006 Honda CR-V
We have owned Hondas since 1976. This (2006 CRV) is by far the worst one. It drives like a truck without a suspension. Poor gas mileage (22 mpg) and very noisy. Very restricted leg room.

Lemon?
It may be too early to call this one a lemon, but it's getting there quickly. It's been in the shop for one of the four weeks we've owned it and will be going back. The vehicle developed a low vibration when accelerating after a week or so. It was determined to be the AC. The dealersip replaced the compressor, belt tensioner, and water pump and drained and refilled the system. It seemed to work, but the vibration has returned. American Honda has not been helpful. Their response has been 'you shouldn't expect perfection from a mass produced vehicle.' I do expect a new vehicle will be at my house more than 3/4 the time I own it. If this keeps up the Lemon Law will allow me to give it back.
like finding a needle in a haystack.
after 8 months of review, i finally found a 2006 honda se with low mileage, one owner and no accidents. like a new car. horrible on gas mileage. and of course the road nosie is horrific. bought a 2016 honda crv lx on my brother. road noise the same. horrible. other than these two negatives, the car is perfect. just perfect. very very costly in most dealerships. only a few thousand dollars less than a 2015. crazy how much people can get for a low mileage honda crv under 10,000 dollars. i just got lucky and found one. keeping it until i turn 70 yrs old. it is reliable, cheap to fix and safe!!!

Don't buy a honda
I currently have over 116k on my cr-v if you want high maintenance costs, buy it. Example: 18 months battery replaced. 40k new brakes; 35k new tires. Change spark plugs every 30k. Driver side window cable broke 3 weeks ago. 40k transmission shutters at low speeds 5 trips to different dealers. Finally, problem is diagnosed. Now waiting for last 5 hours to find out if extended warranty will cover repairs. I bought this cute little lemon new. Had a corolla and drove it for 180k for 12 years, once I had to change the alternator, brakes 85k front 110 rears. Also have a Highlander with 95k that gets better gas mileage than this car, I will never buy another Honda.
