Used 2006 Honda CR-V Consumer Reviews
C-RV believer
Bought mine from a friend, First Honda for me. AC compressors are a problem. I have replaced two in four years. Along with a condenser and fan. Also two O 2 sensors. Also had to replace the tie rods and ball joints. I have put about 35000 on the vehicle and had it for 4 years. The drive train operates like new with 241000 on it. I recommend buying one as they are very versital . It is the last year for the side swing third door and has more of a box style cab for more headroom than the later models.

Something to think about
I purchase one of the only two white CRV's with manual drive. I wished I had went ahead and purchased the automatic, but my husband was worried about power going up the Grapevine and Tehacapi Mountains that surround us. The gear shift needs to be raised about 3" taller and there are no arm rests for the driver or passenger front seats. The clutch is very smooth and effortless, and does give the vehicle the ability to drop to a lower gear and pass without effort. The ride is wonderful and what we wanted for all the traveling we plan to do, and the AWD allows us to not worry about what time of the year or where we are going.
Great car
The car drives wonderfully. Very quiet and comfortable drive. Fuel economy is wonderful, especially for an SUV. Great pick up, and lots of room!
Even better than our 1999 CR-V!
After reading some other reviews, I expected to like the 2006 CR-V less than the 1999 CR-V we have owned for years. Since a manual transmission is a MUST for my wife and I, the SUV market has become increasingly limited. 2006 was the last year for 5 Speed Manual transmission on the Honda CR-V, so when we finally found a used one with the manual transmission, we bought it. I am pleasantly surprised that we both like our 2006 even more than the 1999! The 2006 feels bigger, feels even more solid and substantial, and is more powerful than our 1999. At the same time, our gas mileage is 26-28 mpg in normal mixed driving, just the same as with our 1999.
