Used 2003 Honda Civic Hatchback Consumer Reviews
Long live the si
This car has been great! I've driven it for a few years now and I'm ready to buy a new one. The handling is great on cornering with the right tires. Acceleration isn't amazing, but hey it's a 4 banger. The only complaint is the cost to repair. Nobody has parts and most people don't even know what kind of car it is. If you're a young kid and you want something with low maintenance and fun to drive this is it. Or if you live in a city it's so easy to park. Great little car! Owning this car has made my wife and I Honda enthusiasts.
My Third Honda
I had owned a used 1979 Honda which gave 150,000 miles. Got 1991 Civic Hatchback based on previous performance of 1979 Hatchback. 1991 gave me 124,000 up to when I saw the 2003 SI. It is a very smooth operating 5 spd vehicle. I would rate it as one of the best small car values on the market. The 160 hp engine is quiet and powerful for town or road driving. The standard 'sports' car features on the SI make this the best driving vehicle I have ever owned.

Excellent Buy, Fun to Drive
I walked into a Honda dealership, and decided to test drive a Civic EX Coupe. I hated it. I couldnt believe the lack of power, lack of amentities, and high sticker price the car held. As I began to walk away disappointed, my salesman suggested the Si. I wasn't too keen on the clumsy post-modern hatchback design, but once I drove it I couldnt say No. The car has tons of torque, an incredibly solid front end, a smooth shifter, and a sexy sporty interior. I also feel that the car is a steal for what im paying - $3000 out of pocket, and $200 a month for 4 years.
Si Grows Up !
No longer a high-strung peaky hot rod, this new Si is aimed at a new market. This is the most European Honda ever sold here. Designed in Germany, built in England, this car is all a GTI should be, but isn't. The flat torque band pushes drivability far beyond any prior Si. The new 2L is perhaps the smoothest 4-pot made today and the 5 speed is the best of any FWD Honda. Other hatches may be hotter, but none can beat the refinement, smoothness, reliability and precision of the Si. If engineering excellence matters more to you than loud exhausts, slamming your ride or drag racing, this is the Si you've waited for.
Look out for the "Rally" Shifter
I have had issues my new si. When I has my car for 2 weeks the shifter when out. Then it took letters to the pres, vp, gm, and corp. honda to get my car fixed in just sort of a month. ever since the fuel economy had been worse, first and reverse slip a few times a week, 3rd randomly grinds. also the shift knob loosened and my cruise control is out more than it works. this was my first honda and if things do not improve maybe my last. also barber honda in bakersfield doesn't know what customer service is. consider yourself warned.
