Yes I bought it new.15,000 miles in having steering wheel issues, a pull, of course the dealership can't find a issue with the car. Of course fix this and that and then come back to the drawing board. So I spend $$ for you to do a process of elimination.. nice

I purchased a 2020 Honda EX-L sedan on October 10, 2020. I did so because the transmission in my previous auto, a 2014 Ford Fusion Hybrid, went out at 116,000 miles. I replaced the transmission with a used one, but because I was concerned about driving a car with a used transmission as well as wondering when the batteries in the Ford might give out (which would cost thousands to replace) I decided to buy a new vehicle. Living in a small town in Kentucky, I wanted to buy a vehicle locally so I wouldn’t have to travel far for any maintenance. I wanted another sedan, as I’m not a fan of SUVs. I didn’t want another Ford, had driven Chevys, don’t like Chrysler products and didn’t like how the new Toyotas were styled, so I chose a Honda. My decision was aided by my mechanic, who told me they were the most reliable sedans, based on his experience. I picked a champagne-colored Accord, with light-colored (kind of very light grey) leather seats. The car has a lot of standard features, such as cruise control, blind spot sensing, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, cross-traffic monitor. back-up camera, adaptive cruise control, automatic bright lights, heated seats, a 450-watt premium audio system with 10 speakers, and an 8-inch display touch-screen. The car’s interior is fairly quiet (but not as quiet as my old Ford). The seats are very comfortable. There’s plenty of room for passengers in the back-seat area. Both front seats are heated and have power adjustments. So far, I’m averaging a little over 31 MPG combined city/open road driving. Not bad as I habitually drive fast on the interstates (at least 80; I’ve got a radar detector). I got better MPG with the Ford, but it was a hybrid. The touch-screen is easy, intuitive and programmable; better than my Ford. However, I’m not a fan of the radio channel presets being at the bottom of the screen, which forces me to scroll left or right. My old Ford had six together on one screen. There needs to be more charging ports up front. There’s a “cigarette lighter” type charger and a USB port in the area below the radio and in the console. My Ford had more. There’s also not a charging port for the back-seat passengers. My Ford had one. The Honda doesn’t come with rain-sensing windshield wipers like my Ford. The cross-traffic monitor’s warning signal isn’t loud enough and doesn’t seem to pick up approaching vehicles very quickly. My old Ford was better. I use the car’s Android Auto feature (you can also use its Apple equivalent). However, you must connect the phone with a USB cable. I can listen to satellite radio while the Android Auto is engaged, but if the map feature is up on the screen, I’ve got to push the “Home” button on the display screen to toggle back to satellite radio if I want to change channels. That’s cumbersome and not well thought-out. I do, however, like the direction arrows that pop up on the left side of the instrument cluster (where the tachometer is) when getting driving directions (that’s a cool feature). I also like the way you can program the left side of the cluster to show different features. I’ve programmed mine to show the tachometer, MPG, and miles to go till empty. That’s definitely better than my Ford. The volume during calls could be louder for me (I’ve played in bands for 50 years and am half-deaf). The volume for music, etc is plenty loud. I like the way I can send and receive text messages while driving. That’s a definite safety feature. The air conditioning doesn’t seem to be as cooling as my old Ford, but it’s hard to compare now as I’m writing this in early November 2020. I’ll have to wait and see how well the system performs when warmer weather returns. It accelerates pretty well. I can merge onto the interstate with acceleration to spare. It’s never going to win many races, but it’s not designed to run at Daytona. As mentioned earlier, the car is a lovely color, but frankly, the exterior is a little bland. I may be an old coot, but I never want to drive an “old man” car. The Honda is dangerously close to this designation. However, to be fair, it’s very good at what it does, which is to get you from point “A” to “B” in comfort with good fuel economy. The trunk space is huge. My old Ford’s was halfway taken up with hybrid batteries, so I love all the extra space. The back seats fold down and you have access to the trunk, so you can load longer items, if necessary. As you might be able to tell, I loved my Ford Fusion, and perhaps when I’m through grieving its loss, I may very well learn to like the Accord. But for now, it’s like getting vanilla at Baskin-Robbins when you’re used to rocky road. It’s okay, but not the same. But if you like vanilla, the Accord will perfectly fit the bill.
