I needed a new car because my Lexus had 320,000 miles. I was trying to buy a Toyota hybrid but every time I was ready to go see the vehicle it would get sold. So I turned to the Honda Accord. What caught my eye, was the new awesome exterior design. I test drove the car two times at two different dealers before finally making a deal. I got a really good deal $24,202.00 for a new 2019 accord sport 1.5 with only 8 miles on it. What i didn't realize at the time of test driving it was that other people have the same complaints that I now have. The engine is a bit louder than other sedans, The seats are a bit firm and sit low which makes it hard to find my comfort spot and the worse is the road noise coming the "touring" tires. I can tolerate the first two but the road noise is more than I expected. On the street it's fine but when you get on the freeway, that is when it gets louder. I have been on several reputable sites and it seems as though the previous models have had issues with road noise also. I have been thinking of purchasing different tires but I'm still debating whether I will keep the car at the end of the lease. I wish I could take it back now but I'm stuck with it for three years. As of now I will never buy another Honda unless they fix these issues that I have mentioned. Besides that the car looks nice and everything else is fine.

Considered Honda Accord 2.T vs Toyota Camry XSE V6 - Honda felt and handled better than my BMW 5 series at a much better cost. Comes with Honda reliability and much less than comparable European cars. Love to drive it

Bought on 8/31/2019. Did extensive research before purchase, and I feel that I got a very good car. The 2.0L turbo is snappy, and very responsive in normal and sport mode. Econ mode is good for flat, interstate Highway driving when there is minimal traffic. The 10 speed automatic is smooth and responsive. Took it for a 2,000+ mile trip and averaged 37 mpg over both flat and mountainous terrain. The one big issue is the sensitive brakes. Very quick to grab and hold, faster than what I feel is normal other than an emergency stop. I'm used to braking with a slow, firm pressure that you increase proportionally in relation to how fast you want to come to a complete stop. The accord brakes can accurately be described as "touchy". I'm still getting used to it. Otherwise, the car is a pleasure to drive. Car interior is nice, the big infotainment screen is not as intrusive as I first thought, but would have liked a nice CD player built in. The transmission buttons (no "stick") are easy to use and not bothersome. Drink holders are ok, and there are enough "pigeon holes" to stash stuff in the door, center console, and in front of the center console under the infotainment dash. I really like all the controls on the steering wheel, and the transmission paddle shifters are a nice feature, especially if you're a gadget guy. One note about downshifting. My former sedan had a 3 spd auto with OD, and to get the comparable kind of compression slowing as in down-shifting from Drive to Second, the Honda's 10 spd auto you'd have to drop down to about 4th or 5th. Have not had any other problems with the car.

37,000 on my 19' 2.0 Sport and not a single proble

In January 2019 I traded my18' Camry XSE 4cyl for the Accord 2.0 Sport and still think the Accord is a much better car with the 2.0 engine. 37k miles later and not a single mechanical problem. Several hard runs on the turbo and not one malfunction. Whats to love? The engine and 10 spd in this car is buttery smooth. After daily driving my share of 4 bangers over the years, this engine gave me a new tickle and a smile on my face and well worth the lost on the trade. This 2.0 handles better around bends and corners than the camry, although better sport tires with some grip is a must upgrade. I drove Toyota for years, owing a corolla a Camry and Sienna. But I was so curious about how the 2.0 Accord Sport stack up over the Camry XSE. On the highway in eco mode I can get 380 miles to the tank. That’s at 2500ft above sea level. In the Camry I was getting 425. If your a spirited driver, then the 2.0 is the engine to get. Put it in sport mode and you will no problem merging on to highway. The ability to drive in manual mode at anytime is effortless. The ability to lock your doors automatically when you exit and walk away from the car is nice when your hands are full from the bags of groceries in the spacious trunk. Remote windows, when it is hot outside. Some of these features are not on the 1.5 Sport so you need to spring for 2.0 for the remote start features. Also, the 2.0 does not have a CVT transmission thats in the 1.5. Overall, the Accord 2.0 Sport is a better buy with more features than the Camry. Only wish I test drove the Accord sooner. There’s plenty of space in the back seat and trunk. Overall very happy. Buy the Accord with the 2.0 you won't regret it.

This car is fast! (2.0T)

The engine and transmission in the Accord 2.0T sport are fantastic (coming from a life long manual transmission driver). Pay the extra money for the bigger engine and a real transmission... death to CVT! The car is surprisingly quick and it handles great. Comfortable, roomy and fun for a family sedan. The few issues I have with the car are mostly minor annoyances. First, the wiper speed; I haven't seen anyone comment on this but the high speed on the wipers is just not fast enough. Second, headlights. They are led and the low beams are great but the high beams just make what the low beams illuminate brighter. They don't shine light far enough down the road. The sound system is abysmal. I have the Sport 2.0T and the sound from the factory radio is unbearable, easy enough to fix but there are no factory upgrade options. Finally, I wish it would let you stay in Sport mode after shutting off the car. It will stay in eco after restart but defaults to normal even if you were in sport when you shut the car off. I haven't had one issue in over 2 years and 22K miles. It is a Honda so I expect it to be reliable. I'd recommend it to a friend ;)

Expected a bit more

For a car that costs over $30k, I was expecting just a bit more. My other car is a 2012 Dodge Durango Limited which I'm using for some of my comparisons. First is the sound system. I like good sound, but I'm not super picky, and I don't care about power, just quality. Compared to the Durango, the Accord sounds like a cheap boom box. I was not expecting the Accord to be as good as the Durango, I just expected something not grossly poorer. Instrumentation and controls are my next disappointment. The Durango has the audio controls on the back of the steering wheel. This makes them easy to operate without looking and keeps them segregated from the driving controls. The Accord has too many small controls crowded on the front and requires me to look down to find what I need. The speedometer is difficult to read with a quick glance. One reason for this is that it goes up to 160 mph. If it only went to 120, there would be more room to spread things out. Given the hard to read speedometer, a digital speed added to the center of the speedometer or to the "Range and Fuel" screen would solve my problem, but this doesn't exist. The Durango speedo is bigger with much better contrast. I like the lane departure system, but there should be an option for an audible beep on departure like some of the other manufacturers have. My last gripe is that the EX-L model is missing some high end features that other manufacturers include in similar models: Rain sensing wipers, automatic high/low beams, and backup collision braking. If I knew all this before I bought the Honda, chances are I still would have made the same decision, but I would have taken a second look at the Subaru.

Rides well. Great acceleration, even in economy mode. Great mileage on regular gas. Looks good. Pretty comfortable. I'm upset about a couple of things. First, while it tells you if tires are low, it doesn't specify the tire or amount of air in each. My 2009 Acura had the technology. Why isn't it here? It makes it really inconvenient. Additionally, it lit up with low tire pressure twice and when I took it to the dealership, they said it was an electronic misfunction. Second, I was excited that I could plug in my phone and get Waze. This function hasn't been working well and we haven't been able to figure out why. A small issue: on my Acura, the wind deflector for the moon roof was a light smoky color that shaded the sun; on the new Accord, it's a dark color that blocks out the sky. All of the above are taking the fun out of owning a new car. I had no problems with my TSX. I'm sorry that model was removed from the lineup.

My wife and I traded in our 2016 Honda Accord sedan yesterday. I miss the camera in the passenger side mirror and to be truthful I would like to have cameras in both left and right mirrors. A drivers side camera would allow me to see a car in the third lane before it switched to the right lane. As it stands now I cannot see a car in that third lane. I am not happy with the little icon that ells you there is a car getting ready to pass you in the right lane. I'm not that crazy about there not being a floor shift. I do not like the buttons set up. Since we've only had the car for a couple of days I might get used to it, and multitude of electronics, but I doubt it. The only pluses I see is that after seven Hondas we have become dependent on and enjoy the reliability and the fuel mileage we've always have gotten. Also the comfort and ride.

2019 Honda Accord seats

The light material is HORRIBLE? Even if you do not have anyone in your car, it gets extremely dirty. I bought my car in October 2019, brand new, and the driver's seat is now Black. The seat absorbs the color from EVERYTHING I wear. I have NEVER seen anything like it. Then I have no kids. No one but my mother is ever in my car. The back seats are changing colors. This car is an embarrassment. Honda told me in Feb of 2020 that they would take care of it. It's now October 2020, and they have done NOTHING. I went on a forum and read dozens of complaints about the light interior of the Honda cars of every make and model. Some date back to 2017. So if they know there's a problem with the light interior, why do they continue to make them? Cerritos Auto Square in Cerritos. The man over the cars quality of look name is Kevin. Would you believe that he tried to blame me? I went back after only a month of having the car and his response was. "When was the last time you had it detailed?" REALLY? I just bought the damn car. Why would I get it detailed? Then Honda in Long beach off Spring Street told me they would take care of it, and I haven't heard anything in months. DO NOT waste your money. These cars are terrible. Then it has a feature where if you drift off into a lane, the car rocks on it's own, causing you to damn near lose control of the car. Okay.maybe this is to help you. But when you are going around a corner on the freeway, the feature starts up and has the car jolting as you are making that round. It's dangerous. I HATE THIS CAR and will NEVER buy a Honda again. I'm trading it in, in January

Where can I start. Brought 2.0T brand new in June 2019. Paid pretty penny and also bought extended warranty. Wanted to keep the car and hand it over to my College bound son. But this car is a safety risk. It ate front tire from 1 spot, and tire was going to burst. Glad I took it in. In my 35 years of with the cars never seen something like that and let alone with $32k 2 year old car. The car has no insulation or sound deadening. You basically sit in a tin can. As soon as you hit 35 there is someone hitting you with hammer on your head. Noise is unbearable. Seats are horrible and very uncomfortable. Car has good fast engine but cannot enjoy it. Save your money and go with Lexus or Toyota.

The manual transmission 2.0T is lacking tech

-There is no turbo boost meter as in the car manual it has an * and does not define what time level gets you the meter. -There is no memory settings for the add-ons such as headed steering wheel -You can't turn off hill assisted braking even when brake hold is off -Some tech features become disabled and are not reported such as the lights on the mirrors for car detection when there is frost. -the car will not emergency stop itself as in the commercial this also disabled on the manual. -many features are for assistance only this car will not drive itself as some sales personel will tell you. -there is poor detail in the manual for defining the bridging and overlaps of systems that do similar but not the same thing and the limitations between the manual and automatic function -The MP3 player shuffle is terrible -other touring trim model features are not mentioned as upgrades to the sport model you can only get the style but not the tech. -there are unresolved climate control problems in my car

I did not think my 2013 could be surpassed but Honda always surprises, pleasantly. This version is even smoother handling and I love the standard features, like push button start and lane change alert. I did like the styling of the 2013-more of a notch back as opposed to a sweep back.I feel a bit lower sitting in this car but the entire hood is visible which was not the case in the earlier car. Still trying to lock in the boundaries of this version-I sometimes have to re-back to fit into the parking lines if they are only 8 ft. The quality of fit and finish in this car is apparent. I'm over the moon happy with my Honda and I love the modern steel outside finish.

I own a 2019 Accord EX-L which has just turned 4000 miles on the odometer. Since owning the car there have been several issues with the TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) and the CMBS (Collision Mitigation Monitoring System). It seems the safety features are extremely sensitive. Driving the car I found the 1.5 turbo engine to have lag below 2000rpm and there’s a lot of road noise from the tires. The interior is nice but the carpeting is really cheap. The upgraded sound system is average. The exterior looks nice but I noticed paint flaws when I look at it at a certain angle. For what I paid ($28,000) it’s not a bad car but I would hardly give it a Car Of The Year award. I’ll end up selling the car soon.

Since the cables are exposed easily to snow and water, after corrosion all the heat and air conditioning system don't work. Your need to replace the hole bunch of them with cost close to thousand, time and frustration, even doing that you may have the same issue overtime.

This is the finest combination of style, reliability, comfort, safety, utility and cost of ownership on the road. It does anything and everything you ask of it with almost no faults. Fill its immense cabin and trunk with people and all your crap and tell me you need an SUV. Throw some snow tires on it in the winter and tell me you need 4 or AWD. Take it on a curvy road and and wring the bejesus out of the torquey turbo engine and tell me you need a “sportier” or faster automobile. This is one of the last of a dying breed of car. A simple, reliable, inexpensive, highly useful mode of transportation that has everything you probably need and nothing you don’t. But it adds another layer with a great chassis, engine, and, very sadly, a no longer available, 6 speed manual transmission. I can’t imagine anyone completely disliking this car. If you don’t like one trim there’s another you probably would. I’ll keep this car forever. Till death do us part.

Not a bad car at all

2019 Honda Accord EX-L 4dr Sedan (2.0L 4cyl Turbo 10A)

I bought a 2019 Accord EX-L with the 2.0t engine after spending nearly a decade with an SUV. I just wanted something different and my test drive with this car was very positive. I'll go through the pros and cons. Pros 1. Nice, peppy acceleration from the 2.0t. 2. Decently smooth shifts from the 10spd transmission. 3. Airy interior. This is classified as a large car in some circles, and it shows. 4. Plenty of leg room for all passengers. 5. Seats are decently comfortable. They're certainly not luxury car comfortable, but they feel nice to sit in. 6. Infotainment is excellent. Crisp graphics, good contrast ratio, not much lag. 7. Controlled ride. It's stiff enough to have minimal body roll, but soft enough to not be punishing. Relaxed, but still firm enough to drive like you mean it. 8. HVAC controls are all physical, with some satisfying clicks. 9. Huge trunk. Putting down the sets to expand the storage is pretty easy. 10. It does a lot of the small things right. It has a sunglasses holder, the arm rests are adequately padded and at a good height for the driver. The cup holders are very large, as is the center console. Cons 1. Passive TPMS means manually checking tire pressure. I mean, it's 2022 now, but even 2019, that's a lazy move. 2. Transmission can be clunky when it's cold out, but only for a couple of miles. 3. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are present, but they can be finicky. 4. Small item storage could be better. The center bin is small and barely fits a modern smartphone and a wallet. 5. There is a decent amount of road noise. The sound deadening could be better, but the energy saver Michelins that come on it are also quite loud. Will likely switch those out for quieter tires over time. 6. 10 speaker "premium" sound system is okay, but definitely on the "below average" side of upgraded systems. 7. Finally, some of the safety systems can't be permanently turned off, and the collision mitigation has a history of false positives. That's annoying, but you can turn it off every time you get into the car. Overall, I'm happy with the car. The cons are mostly minor nitpicks or annoyances. What this car does well are the basics. It drives well, handles well, and the ride quality is reasonably comfortable and well controlled. The interior is airy, with plenty of space. The infotainment is good, even if smartphone mirroring is annoying sometimes. This car does have 3 recalls as of the time of this writing, but they have been applied to my car already. I also have the 2.0t (which is shared with the civic type r) and the 10spd, which is apparently a bit more reliable than the 1.5t with the CVT, which has been known to have problems. Here's hoping this car goes the distance.

Love everything in it, the only think is that I'm getting City MPG 19 -22, short distances of driving. I was anticipating more 22-25 City Eco mode on.

Always been a Honda fan. To date newest car I've owned is a 2013 Civic Si. Very overwhelmed but highly impressed with the safety features. Drawn to this as the only midsize sedan with a manual, the shift/ clutch is smooth as silk, handles surprisingly agile for its size with its 19"shoes, very quick and quiet. I love the seats and the simple but classy cabin design. Jury's out on the longevity of the seating surfaces. Touchscreen is very responsive and wel designed. It looks AMAZING. Definitely a great value for the money.

I wanted this car so bad the first commercial I saw I wanted it more than anything. Coming from a 2004 Honda Accord v6 which is my baby. So I finally get the car I ride it my expectation are super high based on the handling & performance of my 2004. This car is garbage. It’s so frail so many cons. Literally this car is only for looks. I am short I do not have the option to raise or lower the seat which sucks. The mirrors are slanted in a weird way which is a huge struggle. I am a mirror user. The back window is very small. There are so many blind spots in this vehicle. I am a very confident driver not in this Honda. I have driven SUV’s pick up caravans & have never felt so unsure of myself than in this car. The lane assist is terrible it alerts you but looks the wheel up. I turned that off. It also wasn’t accurate. Very dangerous. When I get in & out of the car the frame hits my legs every time & I have bruising from it unfortunately. Not a very good idea. The seats are so uncomfortable. No cushion & feel weird. Like they want to push you out of the seat. Lol. I have a need for speed fast is my thing. This cars pick up is assssss… when it finally picks up it’s time to stop again. Once it gets going it is smooth but braking is terrible after pick up. It’s like it’s to fast for its own self. I absolutely hate this car & want a 2017 or older to replace this garbage.

Tire pressure

Does any one else has this problem? my tire pressure shows low all the time and I check every time and add some air in it and the mechanics are saying it is because of the heat and the weather changes in the morning and afternoon. Anyway one of the time that I was driving in 91 freeway the sign for tire low pressure came up again and I was like few miles away from home so I thought I will check as soon as I get out of freeway but suddenly one of my tire blew out on the road, I could not stop the car and took me few spins and finally car turned off in the middle of the road. I was very very lucky, freeway was crowded but everyone slowed down and no one hit me! Thank god, but I'm so scared now to drive this car again. I got all new tires and showed my car to the dealership but still the same. I see the same sign here and there again. I will change this car as soon as I can.

No Complaints So Far!

I've never owned a Honda and I've been through 7 cars before this one and I'm only 23. I always have horrible luck so I really did my research before looking at Hondas. I bought the car with 11 miles on it and I'm on day 5 with about 400 miles and she hasn't missed a beat. I've owned Chrysler, Volkswagen, GMC, Hyundai, Pontiac, Kia, a Chevrolet and now the Homda. I loved my '04 Jetta turbo 5-speed and drove it long and hard until the timing belt went out on it. Loved the quick acceleration of the turbo and this car is even better! I traded in my '13 Chevy Malibu LTZ for the '19 Honda and so far my Accord EX-L is aces. It drives so smooth arms the handling is so much easier and more accurate. The leather seats are comfortable for me, the back seat has MORE than enough room and the trunk is noticeably bigger than the Malibu. The infotainment system is a huge plus as well. The speakers in my Malibu had a little more bass but it's not that noticeable. I don't have the music turned up to the max in my new car as I want to keep it pristine for as long as possible. There are 2 USB ports in addition to the 2 outlets. The USB ports charge my phone ALOT faster than they have in any other car I've ever owned. The gas mileage in this car is also far better than my Malibu. Currently getting around 33-35 mpg combined and I drive about 60-80 highway miles 5 days a week for work. I love the CVT transmission so far but it's my first one so we'll see how long it lasts. From what I've researched the Accords last forever so I hope this one doesn't disappoint. Definitely worth the extra money to get the leather and few other features if you prefer the leather over cloth seats. Will try to update once I hit 10k and 100k miles. Fingers crossed!

Missing the following, expected, conveniences. 1) spot for a box of tissues 2) a place to throw away the used tissue 3) no place for change. These are items that are expected in a vehicle (sort of like a TP holder in your bathroom). Where does Honda expect you to throw away your trash...on the floor? Seems like minor items. But take a trip with a couple of children (or even elderly family members) and THEN you will miss these!

Horrible seats

Horrible front seats. Feel fine for first 45 minutes. After an hour you notice it. After two hours it’s unbearable. Engine noise high climbing steep grades. Seems like it struggles. Overall the mileage is great but the creature comforts leave much to be desired. I miss my Lexus. I realize that is a different car but how much would it cut into Honda profits to spend a few hundred more on better foam in the seats. First and last honda for me. It will be a reliable car to pass on to my soon to be driving kids but for me, Im over it

Honestly this car does sit low. And low to get into. Takes a little getting used to. Some road noise but not loud enough to be uncomfortable. Suspension is a little stiff. handling is good and fuel economy is good. Average about 27 mpg half hwy and half city (1.5l engine) . I fill my tanks with about $23 (93 octane).Overall this car is fun to drive and I would definitely buy another.
