I was in market for AWD SUV, but bought this...

I bought a 2016 Honda Accord LX with CVT for about $20k plus taxes and fees. I added aftermarket leather upholstery (Katzkin) for just over a grand. If you do not care about moonroof, keyless start, lower profile tires, Honda Sensing, or navigation, then you can save thousands by doing this. I know that sounds like a lot of things to go without. However, I sincerely did not want any of those items. Honda designed the LX trim almost perfectly for people like me. One thing I did want was the enhanced stereo of the EX-L. I was planning on putting in an upgraded aftermarket stereo into my LX. However, when I finally got the car, I realized the stock stereo is more than sufficient, and so I am keeping it. I actually fear that a stereo shop would put in a more expensive and more powerful stereo that will sound worse. I have had that happen before with another car. Anyway, for a solid two months, I was in the market for an AWD SUV. I had an extensive spreadsheet and everything. I test drove many SUVs. For the heck of it, I test drove Honda Accords in three trims: LX, EX, and EX-L V6. After that, I decided I did not need an SUV. The ride is smoother than any SUV I drove, which is expected because it is a sedan. However, the ride is also better than the Subaru Legacy. The only thing the Legacy is better at is its AWD system. If you can get over that, then the Accord is a better car. By the way, some reviewers have been complaining that they feel the road too much. That mainly is the consumers' fault. I'll explain. People like the looks of low profile tires. So car makers have been giving it to them. But lower profile tires are automatically a stiffer ride, assuming similar suspensions. Until car makers figure out how to defy the laws of physics, this will always be the case. So, I present another argument in favor of getting the base model LX if you want a smoother ride. The rims are higher profile (smaller rims) than all of the upper trims. For me personally, higher profile tires are an UPGRADE. So, it is a win-win because I get to pay less. Other things... The base model LX has manual nobs (good thing) for the radio and does not have an extra screen for navigation. (The upper models have the touchscreen for volume control, for example.) To me, car navigation is worthless because I much prefer to use the superior Google Maps on my iPhone. The fuel economy is outstanding. It boggles my mind actually. This car gets better mpg than my little 2000 Honda Civic, and I always thought that car had really good mpg. A downside here is that I am now spoiled. It will be difficult for me to go back to an SUV as a main car.

I moved out of my loaded 2008 BMW 535 into a 2016 Accord EX-L V6 and don't feel like I am missing out. While I could easily buy any luxury vehicle the new Accord sold me on its near luxury at half the price. I have to be careful as I risk feeling smugly superior, something I never did in the beemer. So compared to the 535 the Accord.. Has 22 less horsepower, naturally aspirated...don't miss it and don't miss the 535 turbos. Tracks half as well but that makes is 100% more comfortable. Has 8-way (?) adjustable seats vs 20-way in the 535 so you don't get hugged on tight cornering which was a little disconcerting the first couple of times but the Accord seats are more comfortable. Has more and better cup holders. Darn close leather, Honda finally got it right. The break pedal doesn't sit level with the gas, takes some getting used (hooked a shoe sole in the process) to but is normal for a family hauler. Has awesome technology with CarPlay and Auto but not fair to compare. Really does get 34 mpg on the freeway...when does stated mileage actually happen? Great headlights, night quite as surreal as the 535 but pretty awesome. I could go on but net, net the first 1000 miles hav kept me smiling.

I'll keep this short and highlight what I love and what I don't. 1. This car is surprisingly quick, yet capable of 34+ mpg on the highway. I've even seen 35+ if I keep my speed around 65mph 2. Beautiful car. I will freely admit that previous versions of the Accord look like 'grandma' cars. Not this one though. Very, very sharp. I'm not a huge fan of the Acura-looking grill, but it doesn't take anything away from the package. 3. Very comfortable seats, well laid out interior, tons of technology and safety options. Some flaws - the stereo system in the top of the line model should be MUCH better than what it is. Very unimpressed with it thusfar. Just poor sound all around; the sound quality I'd expect in a $20K automobile. I've actually considered replacing all the speakers with aftermarket options. 4. The cylinder deactivation provides a huge boost in gas mileage on the highway, but occasionally have some odd pedal feedback when my foot is lightly on the gas. It also, as expected, makes the car a bit unresponsive - especially on hills. 5. Some of the safety features like lane-departure and collision avoidance are bit on the annoying side. I actually shut off the lane-departure system. Navigation, carplay, etc are all great options, although the dual-screen arrangement seems redundant. Paddle shifters, or a manual mode for the transmission would be a nice plus on the V-6 model. Guess you have to buy an overpriced Acura for that though. 6. The driver's side mirror needs better blind-spot notification - for now, it's a modified view on the side mirror, while the passenger side has a camera. WTH? Just put sensors on both sides? The camera is a nice addition though. Again, probably something to separate the Honda from the Acura.. All things considered, this is a great car. Very quick, agile, and beautiful to look at. The low spot is the stereo and the rather unresponsive engine once cylinder deactivation kicks in. I give it 8.5 stars out of 10. Quick update now that I've owned the car for about 8 months. 1. The rain-sensing feature was not working. The dealer fixed it under warranty. Cable unplugged they said. This is a problem that has been frequently reported on the internet. Overall, I am not impressed with Honda's service when compared to other automakers. 2. Highway MPG has been consistently 34-35. Combined highway/city driving is approx 27MPG. Not bad given this car does have respectable power if you get your foot in it. 3. Stereo is still terrible; if there is an opposite end of immersive sound, that's the sound I hear. This is by far the most disappointing feature of this car and I will most likely choose to move to something else earlier than planned. I'm a music lover and it's a must have for me when sitting in morning/evening traffic. I should have tested this feature more thoroughly before buying, 4. Bluetooth routinely loses connection to my iPhone. So much so that I stopped pairing it. My phone is typically plugged in to the car, so hands-free still works fine. 5. Apple Carplay can be finicky, especially if you're streaming music from Pandora, which I often do. Based on the above, I am lowering my store to an 8 out of a possible 10.

Sensing Package is NOT worth the money

I WISH I had test driven this model with the sensing package for a longer period of time before buying. I own that, it's my fault. BUT, word to the wise. If you use your cruise control a lot, like I do, DO NOT get the sensing package. Unless there is some way to turn off the crash mitigation control for Cruise Control, which I have not found yet, then I would never never never buy this package. With Cruise Control, the driver can specify three separate distances in front of you for the space between you and they next car, but you cannot turn the "distance" meter Off completely, and THIS sucks! Say you're cruising along at 80 in the left hand lane of a wide open freeway, and the car in the right lane in front of you decides to pull into your lane 4-5 car lengths ahead of you. Even with the shortest of "distance" meter available to you in the sensing package, that car which pulled into your lane waaaayyy the heck up there will cause YOUR car to slam on it's breaks. A car pulled in front of me this morning and immediately began accelerating, however, the second my car sensed it moving into my lane, it began to brake, and HARD brake! The car behind me almost rear-ended me because my car braked all by itself and without warning. Do not confuse this with the regular "crash mitigation" option, which DOES have a button to turn it off. I am speaking specifically on the Cruise Control crash mitigation control, which so far, I have not been able to figure out how to turn it off. And it sucks!

This car is a rocket, it will run with new ecoboost Mustangs at the stoplight but you don't have to drive around in a car that screams "I peaked in high school" to get that much acceleration. It also seems to be very well built mostly, the ride is taught but not punishing and the engine is just a joy both in feel and sound. I got the automatic and I don't regret not getting the manual even though Honda manuals are very sweet, you pay a big penalty in mileage with the manual because it doesn't do cylinder deactivation. Handling is secure and it goes around corners quite well but you can feel all that weight up front and it never begs to be pushed really hard around corners, you can just sense that it will end in some pretty hefty understeer. Its more GT or business mans muscle than a sports car which suits me fine as I have more need to blow away mini vans at the stop light than canyons to carve on a daily basis. Having my kidneys turned into pudding on my commute is not my idea of fun the way it was when I was 19 so I appreciate the nice ride. People complain about the touch screen, and I agree that they need to be banished from cars because they are unsafe but in reality you will use the steering wheel controls for almost everything so it doesn't actually matter. The stereo itself is not half bad which is good since there is no optional branded upgrade package where they stencil Harmon Kardon or Pioneer on the dash and add $1500 to the price. It hooked up easily to my phone but I can't comment on Android Auto because my current phone isn't compatible. Where the infotainment drops the ball hard is with voice recognition. It works for your phonebook but not on music. We also own recent Ford and GM stuff and being able to call up specific songs like that is something I really will miss. Aside from the voice recognition being behind the times there are some noise issues that bother me. There is wind noise coming in from the drivers door and there are some buzzing noises that seem to be coming from the door trim or inside the door but I can't pin them down. They crop up on pavement that isn't smooth, it sets up some sort of vibration and the panel starts to buzz. Rattles, buzzing and wind noise are not what I expected in a new Accord, my 2015 Fusion is like a bank vault and its the cheap model. The sunroof however is about the quietest I have ever heard when its open in either mode, there isn't much noise penalty to having it open in vent mode at all. Update: The wind noise and buzzing are gone, something must have seated in finally in the weather stripping. The interior is pretty well done, nothing feels really cheap but there is still a lot more hard plastic than on my Fusion or our Chevy, there is also a lot of piano black glossy finish hard plastic that experience has shown will get scuffed very quickly. The leather seating is quite nice if it fits you, it does me but I can tell it won't fit everyone. There are also water bottle holders molded into the door trim....that don't fit any bottle we own. The exterior is tasteful even with the new sportier touches, unless you get the red it won't attract any police attention. It would be nice if Honda would offer some fun colors though. Red, white, black, blue, grey and silver....thats it. The blue and red are just plain primary red and blue too, would it be too much to ask to get the purple from the CR-Z or the raspberry that was on CR-V's a couple years ago? Overall I am pretty happy, the dealers are quite willing to just give Accord Coupes away without any hassle. So while it might look competitive in price to a bare bones ecoboost mustang on the sticker price of $31700 the reality is that you should be out the door on an EX-L V6 for WELL under $30k...including taxes and fees. Got mine for $27,028 before tax, that is a steal for this much car. Update: There is one area that has sold me on Honda for life and that is interior materials. I am really bothered by new car smell, which is just toxic garbage outgassing from the interior materials and this Accord has been better than I could hope for in regards to that. The smell was not nearly as heavy as any other cars I drove and it dissipated very quickly, after 6 months there isn't any smell at all when I hop in now. As a comparison my wifes new Chevy Equinox is 5 months older and opening the doors is still punishing and I need to drive with the windows down for a few minutes to air it. The 2 year Ford Fusion lease that we returned also still had a very strong chemical smell after 2 years. This factor alone will have me in a Honda forever unless they start going down the chinese toxic waste interior material path as well.

Before buying this car, you need to put into perspective what size the engine is and what your realistic expectations are for that car. (I've had 8,6 and 4 cyl. cars) Then think about the tires, if you get 19" tires you have less sidewall/absorption and you will feel more bumps on the road. Now for my review...This sedan handles very well for a mid-size car and I'm talking about suspension over bumps, cracks, pot-holes, crowned roads, steering, cornering, stopping, turning radius etc. For 185hp, it accelerates beautifully when merging and changing lanes. The transmission doesn't kick, skip, hesitate etc. when I'm slowing, coming to a complete stop, or accelerating like the 2015 Chrystler 200 that I rented. That was scary as I am sensitive to odd engine/transmission noises. The seats are ok and I haven't driven the car over 800 miles so I can't make a fair assessment but I can say that the lumbar support is my favorite in a driver's seat. WOW, the led fog lights really light up the road, love em. When I opened the door, the first thing I noticed was the trim, its very classy and pleasing to me. Then the leather trim with fabric seats was a good decision that makes us EX owners feel good about having some leather ;). I had leather before and I liked that I could clean it easily. It has plenty of room for elbows and arms, which is important and the back passenger can have comfort as well. Another thing I coveted were rear vents, and when I sat in my new car that was an awesome surprise! Bluetooth sound is clear, no "huh, what did you say?" in my convos while I drive. The Carplay is an excellent idea because you don't need to wonder about who texted you or where your phone is. Does that make sense? Oh and the lanewatch, I really like that idea, sometimes there's too much going on and I forget to re-re check, so its a nice plus. I'm still exploring the car and so far I'm enjoying it day by day. The radio has good sound and I'm glad I have the tweeters, which I noticed were not in the Sport or LX. I gotta hear my BPM.

The Standard for all family sedans to be judged

The 2016 Honda Accord V6 is the most complete car under $35k; there are very few deficiencies and a solid driving experience. The honda sensing package includes a group of safety enhancements with radar cruise control, lane departure warning, and forward collision warning. The radar cruise control is really amazing, and I often find myself using this function for commuting as it will brake and speed up all on its own in accordance with traffic conditions. The lane departure is good feature, but is easily confused with bad pavement, but it is helpful to have. The forward collision warning is sensitive, but it is helpful. Finally, the honda lanewatch is pretty much useless. I tried it for a week with it coming on automatically on the right turn signal, but it was distracting. I use it occasionally on the highway to switch lanes, but as there aren't much in terms of blind spots, it is not very useful. The interior is very comfortable for four, I guess you can seat five, but I haven't tried it. My car has the black leather interior which is good quality and everything just seems to work. The navigation system is based on garmin, which makes the best navigation systems. Apple Car Play is really helpful and cool. The ability to text without typing or having to touch the phone is a huge benefit. Plus, being able to access Siri at a touch of a button is amazing. The V6 is strong when called upon with a sweet sound that reminds me of an NSX from my days of playing Gran Turismo on the PS3. During times when power isn't required, the engine is quiet and doesn't make itself known except at partial throttle at low RPM, when there is a little shutter from what I assume is the engine operating on 3 cylinders. I am getting around 34mpg on the highway and around 22mpg around town, with a very heavy right foot.

I drive a lot to get to work. I've owned about 9 or 10 different cars (mostly honda's or acura's) and tend to be pretty critical of vehicles. Overall after 700 miles on a 2016 Accord EX (no leather or Honda Sense) I'd give the car a solid B-. Handling is good: not too much body roll and car goes where I point it. But I'd prefer slightly faster biting brakes. Ride quality is decent, but certainly not as smooth as these professional car reviewers say. Perhaps its only the higher end trims or the V6 with this supposed smooth ride, but my Accord rides firm. You feel most bumps. I also don't like how it deals with road undulations, the landing coming back down is abrupt. Vehicle quietness overall is very good: wind and road noise are generally well controlled. However there is some noticeable drone and vibration from the cvt and there are some squeaking sounds on interior panels when driving over certain coarse surfaces. Fuel economy is fantastic. I'm averaging 31mpg in mixed driving on regular. Stereo and infotainment are pretty good quality for class. And I really like the Apple Carplay feature.

Fantastic Car if you don't have neck/back probs

I have had this car for a month and driven 1000. Let me start by saying I have not had any previous neck or back problems. I had problems on the 1 1/2 hour drive home from the dealership. My right leg started to go numb and my neck was killing me. I just figured I didn't have the seat adjusted properly. I readjusted the seats and no longer had the leg problem. I was able to determine that the problem was with the headrest. It is angled so far forward it pushes your neck into an awkward position. I had pain and tightness running from the right side of my neck all the way to my lower back. I thought of just removing the headrest but that obviously is not a solution for safety reasons. For a month, I tried different seat positions and couldn't find one that work. I am very sad because I LOVED this car. Right now, I am in the process of trying to make a deal for a new Camry. If you look on line, you will see that the headrest has been a problem for many people.

Great Car but a few bugs

First, let me say that I really love my new Honda Accord Coupe for the most part. But........... Here is what you need to know. The Good: The front seat is nice and very comfortable. Love the leather and the inside looks nice - also the outside. The build seems fairly solid. The car is quiet driving. The gas mileage on the 4cyl is unbelievable. I got almost 50 mpg on the highway...no kidding, it blew me away. The audio sound I thought was good. The Bad: The audio system controls are annoying and hard to get around. The car drives like a sports car (think 350z) - you will feel every bump. (If you're looking for a smooth ride, it's average at best...the ride is bumpy, but fun.) >>updated -- I think a lot has to do with tires. DON'T GET THE BRIDGESTONES -- very rough ride. Make them put on the Michelins. Or you'll be sorry. The USB ports were put in bad places. That's about all I can say on the bad side. Would I buy it again, I'm not sure - they need to fix a few things. I was hoping for a smoother ride. (tires) You'll just have to test drive it to understand what I mean. Make sure you take it on some rough roads.

We were looking for most reliable, comfortable, low maintenance cost car that would drive tall guy from A to B. It should be powerful and with good MPG… We have tested Optima, Sonata, Mazda 6, Outback, Escape & Avalon. I fell in love with Accord 2016...Instantly, so I am biased now :). From the moment I sit in a car it was easy to see myself driving it. About Accord: 1) I do like 2016 design for its aggressive front stylish rear and sporty sides. Beautifully designed front grill and wheels. 2) I do like Android connectivity. Based on reviews I was looking for EX-L with no navigation and sensing. I love my google map on Galaxy and Honda gives you an amazing technology to “mirror” your screen for several apps like Pandora, Google map, Amazon music, Phone/text etc simply connect it by USB cord (1.5 amp). I love google map (free updates) so there is no need to pay extra for Honda navigation & its expensive updates. Also Bluetooth works just fine when my galaxy connected via cord… not sure about IPhone. BTW, it does connect Skype conversation which is amazing. 3) Speech recognition is very friendly! Click on microphone and send message to any number while driving … it’s pretty accurate. 4) I do love power of V6 and automatic transmission. It’s beyond Optima &Sonata options with much better fuel efficiency. (Honda’s 278 HP and 21/34 mpg VS Korean 2.0 turbo with 20/ 31mpg). When you click economizer button accord makes it even more efficient. With V6 it does turn off 3 cylinders on a freeway and my avg mpg is about 40 or higher. 5) It’s Quiet. It’s a truly quiet vehicle. We test drove Optima & Sonata and the road noise was a killer. We could not hear each other… no exaggerations. May be a little. 6) Also Honda sound system is amazing! EX-L does have 7 speaker system (6+1) and the quality is outstanding much better then Infinity system in Kia. Pandora Jazz#$%^& just phenomenal. 7) We saw very good Mazda 6 reviews online but we didn’t like the car. 8) We think Honda Accord has made a big step forward in design while nice & attractive Optima became more & more boring and Camry… what have you done!? 9) Acceleration is amazing, turning radius is good. 2nd row is super roomy (5’11” person sits very comfy behind driver). 10) Good Michelin tires with pretty 17” discs. 11) Crosstour was an option as well but price was higher and it’s discontinued… First tank of gas gave us 26 mpg avg fuel efficiency. With second one we have a little above 28. We do like exterior white color a lot. It comes with ivory interior which is nice but requires a bit of cleaning.

Hi all,I am sharing my car buying experience with all , hope it will be helpful to those who are thinking of buying a new car. I live in California.Car purchased on December 28, 2015 : 2016 Honda Accord EX with Honda Sensing, White Exterior MSRP on this car was $28115 and dealer invoice cast was $25777 Price paid $24000+ DMV and Sales Tax = Total OTD -Out the Door $26302.15 I don't have excellent credit, but I was able to get %2.2 for 72 months from a credit union. My experience sharing with potential car buyers:Online research helped me a lot to select the car I wanted and to get the right price. I read many forums. I am trying to return favor to online community through this comment.I was doing online research for long time almost for 4 weeks. First up all I wanted to buy a 2-3 year old used car to save myself from big hit of depreciation cost which happens mainly in first 2 years, but then I wasn't able to find a car with all recent safety features. So finally I made my mind to get Honda Accord with Honda Sensing Features. I found these features are very cool and I am amazed to know how useful they are just after driving about 250 miles. I didn't wanna spend another few thousand dollars to get Touring or EX-L trim, I found EX with Honda Sensing is 'Value for Money ' package. Before settling on Accord I test drove many cars which were in my budget. On Truecar.com best target price was $24554. My target was to get a deal better than that. I read and experienced all dealership's strategies, marketing tactics. In beginning , I visited neighborhood dealerships tried negotiations, but was worthless. Dealers makes most of the money by selling you financing through them, by selling extended warranty , GAP insurance and selling(forcefully selling) accessories. I have seen dealers charge anywhere from $500 to $1000 just for aftermarket alarm security system. After you buy car you can get this system fitted in your cars for way less money. They try to sell you wax polish packages, now a days factory paintings is so state of the art, I personally dont think it is important, at least not at expensive price from dealerships. Their GAP insurance is always very expensive, I got one through my Auto insurance provider for $15 per 6 month. Anyways if you still want few useful genuine Honda (factory) accessories, you can always buy them later from any dealerships at discounted prices later, look for coupons on their websites under specials. Or just send emails to parts departments get quotations, ask for discount, and compare quotes. Most of the dealerships want you to invite you to store instead of giving you upfront quotation by using their marketing tactics , please don't fall to their tricks , be a strong buyer, your goal should be save your hard earned money. They try to focus on monthly payment, instead you should tell them I am focusing only on sales price nothing else, do your monthly car payment calculations on google. My advise to potential buyers:When I decided I want to buy 2016 Accord EX with HS , what I did is went on autotrader.com, cars.com and carsdirect.com entered the car, trim level and color I am looking for. I searched for 200 miles radius around my residential zip code. I found as many as apx. 50+ cars were in stock at different dealerships in Orange, San Diego , LA , San Bernardino and Riverside counties. Then I sent emails/messages to all these dealers through cars.com and asked them about my target price. I started getting email replies to my inbox within few hours. Few dealerships sent me there internet pricing with there terms and condition in smallest fond size. I went and visited one of the dealership which is about 40 miles away from home, found out they were playing games, when I went there they told me they did a mistake and accidentally quoted me different car, then finally agreed to honor the quote of $23500 but at condition to finance through them (Honda Financing) at ridiculously higher Interest rate, obviously I walked out of the dealership. Then I came home and emailed these dealerships who had this particular car in stock, about written quote with OTD pricing on it, clearly told them I will not buy any extras. I got 3-4 competitive quotes around $26300 OTD (~$24000+ tax and dmv) pricing in writing. So on Monday 12/28/2015 I drove into one of the dealership who gave me $24000+ tax and Dmv quote. Car had 2 miles on it, test drove it for 1 mile. Saw sticker had $995 alarm system added on it, told clearly to salesman that I am not gonna buy any extras. He said he will not change his words and there will be no surprises. Went inside after test drive. He printed the numbers on paper. The price he presented was exactly same as we agreed through email conversation. I signed the papers and option contract paid my down-payment through card. I reached at dealership at 7 pm and I was out with my brand new car at 8 pm.

Fabulous Accord - Honda Does It AGAIN

There were BIG changes made with just about all of the mechanical aspects of this car. The outside appearance is about the same as prior years. Having had it less than a month, it is more sporty.... this car purrs as moves along, our prior Accord was extremely quiet and business like. The 2016 feels so different, as well as sounding different. The suspension is improved. we like the wheels MUCH better. We can't rate maintenance cost, or resale value but our prior Accord was outstanding, which is why we bought another one. But the 2016 is not just another one. We didn't know what was in store when we bought it, not entirely. After a very short time owning this outstanding value, so much for your money, we are so very, very glad we did buy it. The only thing that needs any attention is the navigation. It does not work as well, as smoothly, as our 2008 Lexus. We hope that a technician can improve it's performance....

I'll start and end this review with the same thought: pricepoint. I did my research and suspected this car to be a great value, with the dealer discounts and great service. I drove it once. The second time I drove it (after driving other, similar mid-sized sedans, Mazda, Toyota, Ford), I drove it home. Why? While it may not be #1 in any category by which I or anyone else values vehicles, it hit the top 2 or 3 in just about every category I was looking for in an affordable, efficient car. It holds value, gets good mileage, and is reliable. The Honda service is excellent (look it up). Great cargo space, comfortable (and biggest of all comparable cars, I felt) interior, great safety features. Great re-sale value in 3 years..... I like that. A lot. The CVT was a mystery to me. I broke the car in, then started testing the transmission. It is an entirely different driving experience from any car I have ever owned. In short: fun! I could drive a CVT car without paddle shifters, but I think I would miss the fun of engine braking and challenging myself to nail a good rpm setting. I can see why Honda offered this package with a Sport label. With the CVT, the forced paddle downshifts are smoother than downshifts on the other transmissions. Paddle-downshifting this car into a sharp turn is a breeze. Highway on-ramps? Drop it into 'S" and manually (yet more smoothly and more quickly than manual or automatic) upshift until you are at highway speed, then bring it back to "D", set the cruise. and let the CVT get you 35 mpg. The electronics are basic, but very functional. I don't care about navigation in my vehicles, as I have a cell phone with GPS. So does everyone else I know. Bluetooth and USB are easy to use and nearly fully controlled on the steering wheel. Climate control is adequate. The trunk is impressive, and the seats split 60/40. These features are worth noting for those on the fence between a sedan and a crossover or full-fledged SUV. This car handles very well, with smooth steering and manipulative suspension. By that, I mean one can still drop that nose into a corner, like the Accords of old. Some out there will know what I mean. For the price, I cannot recommend a vehicle with more value, reliability efficiency, and ... the "F-factor" ... fun. "Value"... so subjective. Consider bang-for-the-buck, resale, maintenance, technology, mileage, performance, safety, service, insurance, cargo space, interior space... Taken altogether, the Accord Sport is a diamond in the rough at this price point. It outshines more expensive vehicles in every category aforementioned, yet it can be had for <$23,000 out the door. The money the buyer saves on maintenance and fuel , coupled with the performance, should push any "used luxury" buyer (you know who you are, I am you) toward the 2016 Accord. One just has to drive it.

I recently migrated from a 2002 Accord Coupe EX V6 and so far I could not be happier with this new car. I was concerned about moving to a 4-cylinder but it has enough pep to get the job done. The sporty look, inside and out, along with the paddle shifters for manual mode add enough juice to it I am not missing the V6. All the chrome trim inside with the aluminum peddles really make it feel like a more pricy European vehicle. I'm was pleasantly surprised at how roomy the back seat is. I expect the same quality I have come to appreciate from Honda.

I bought the 2016 after selling my 2004 EX-L, a car I drove since it was brand new and loved dearly. The changes in the model over 12 years are enough to give you whiplash, but most are for the good. The technology alone is mind-blowing: back-up camera and right-side blind spot camera, display screen, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, memory driver's seat, push-button start, and "smart key". I love not having to dig through my purse for a key in order to get into the car or open the trunk. The ride is so quiet that you almost wonder if you're actually driving. Driver visibility is good; the windshield pillar on the passenger side isn't as much of a blind spot as it was on my '04. Seats are super comfy and the sound system is amazing. And the styling is anything but boring. I really love the way this car looks. A few downsides: the touchscreen is kind of wonky. It really stinks not having a volume knob (though I do appreciate the mute button that pops up when you adjust the volume). CarPlay needs some work. It's easiest if you tell Siri what to do, but Siri doesn't always get the message right. And it's difficult to navigate the Artist list on the music app. You have to select the first letter just right; if you don't, it won't let you scroll up or down to another letter. The Apple Maps navigation is decent, but doesn't really substitute for a good GPS unit. You can't type anything directly into it; you either have to scroll down to an address you've searched previously, or you have to pray that Siri understands the address. Hoping Apple improves this with future updates. My only other complaint is that the center console is really small, about half the size of the one in my 2004. The top of the '04 console could also slide forward to provide an armrest for someone (like me) who has to pull the seat forward. This one doesn't move. All in all, I love this car; the irritations are minor to say the least. Honda continues to provide great value. I can't believe I got such a fine car for under $30K. ***UPDATE I've now been driving this car for about 6 months, and the pluses and minuses haven't changed a lot. Apple CarPlay did see some improvements with the iOS 10 update, including the ability to delete apps, the addition of mapping where your car is parked, and improved scrolling in the music app. I still love the car and have no regrets. ***ONE-YEAR UPDATE Not much has changed in my opinion of this car over the last 6 months. Only a little disappointed that the driver's seat leather seems to be permanently grungy. Otherwise, no issues. Great gas mileage as always, and CarPlay technology keeps improving. ***TWO-YEAR UPDATE No big changes. Have had zero mechanical issues with the car (though my overall mileage is pretty low as I don't have a commute). It still drives like a dream, and is responsive and quiet. CarPlay is exponentially better than it used to be; the Apple Maps improvements in iOS 11 made a tremendous difference. I also upgraded to the iPhone 8, which CarPlay recognizes much faster than it did my 6. Still no regrets in buying this car. UPDATE 2019: Absolutely no issues with this car. No major repairs required, all tech still works like it was brand new. Apple has also made huge improvements to CarPlay over the last few years and it’s much more user friendly. Zero regrets buying this car. UPDATE 2020: Still no major issues with the car. Occasionally the audio system screen goes black and/or is slow to respond. Restarting the car fixes it. This is an issue I will raise with the dealer when I go in for my next scheduled maintenance. UPDATE 2023: Still having occasional minor issues with the touchscreen. Also had to have the satellite radio antenna replaced last year, which cost about $500. Otherwise, the car is still a joy to drive and CarPlay keeps getting better. UPDATE 2024/25: CarPlay / touch screen issues have vastly improved over the past year. I have a new iPhone now and I think between that and the latest iOS updates, the problems have been eliminated. My only issue now is that some of the small LED bulbs that are part of the fog lights / daytime running lights have burned out, and I've been told the only fix is to replace the entire array to the tune of about $700.

Mileage around town about 23mpg, but on the road over 40. Drives like a dream. Enjoy the two screens. Bluetooth and car play work well. Very, very happy! Probably should have purchased with safety package, sorry I didn’t.. a bit disappointed that around town mileage isn’t better. Still a pleasure to drive. Update: about 15000 miles. Just drove 3000 miles thru the west, 35.7 mpg overall. Comfortable, large trunk. Was a pleasure on the trip. Again wish I had the safety package... great car overall! Next car will be electric though, probably replacing wife’s Prius Update at 22000 miles: another year, another 2500 mile trip. Pleasure to drive, very happy. Same mileage.. recently drove a Tesla with all its safety electronics. Wow, what a car! As I get older, those features seem more important.

Let me start by addressing the minor complaints I've read that could make you second guess what is otherwise the best car I've ever had the pleasure to own and drive. First everyone needs to stop whining about the loss of the volume knob. The touch screen control only takes a few days to get used to and is now second nature. Next are so called noise complaints while I will admit heavy rains do produce a tapping near the B pillar it's easily ignored and minor. I've had a Toyota Camry, Jeep Cherokee, VW Jetta, and Jeep Wrangler whose roofs sounded like they were corrugated tin. Road and wind noise? They are a none issue I quote Car and Driver magazine "At 70 mph we recorded a decibel rating of 66, the same as a Mercedes S class we tested." Now onto the review if you are looking to enjoy the act of driving not just getting from A to B this is the car for you. If your looking to do it in comfort on a seat that feels like the leather chair in your living room in the perfect position relative to the controls and excellent view all around buy/lease this car. Matched to a buttoned down suspension, perfectly weighted steering wheel that at least gives some feed back compared to the numb detached steering in my last few sedans get the accord (I'm looking at you Kia Optima and Chevy Malibu.) Finishing up with the smoothest quick shifting automatic I've ever driven that shames these crap CVTs get to the dealership. Lastly it's a rocket putting your foot in it brings a linear rush of power that will leave most cars in your rearview. VTEC is awesome in the upper RPM range adding extra noticeable pull. Take a test drive you won't regret it. If mpg is your thing driving steady not slow had netted me an average of 28 city 31 to 34 highway not bad for this well engineered n/a V6.

We love love love this car. The cabin is spacious and it feels like sitting in the lap of luxury. The adjustable lumbar support on the driver's seat is perfect. The back seats comfortably seat a tall person and the side windows allow them to look at passing scenery without craning their necks. The Accord is a game-changer for safety. The side camera really reduces tension when changing freeway lanes or keeping an eye on bicyclists. . I had to stop suddenly when a kid ran into the street. The brake went down faster than I could have braked and the stability assist helped me keep control of the car. And. I love CarPlay navigation while streaming music.

My wife and I leased this car and are extremely happy. We recently drove to Seattle and I couldn't be happier with my choice. Before leasing the vehicle I test drove the Mercedes, Acura, Lexus, Mustang and BMW. My wife said the ease of all the controls make it a great car and a real looker. She said it reminded her of the BMW 320 she use to own. Additionally, she is happy with the V-6 acceleration since she has to merge onto a state highway from a cross street.

It was down to the Camry vs Accord. After a test drive of both it was clear the Accord was for me. I test drove the Accord EX-L and Camry XLE. The EX-L is roomier up front and feels more high-end. The Accord is very quiet and talking on the phone at highway speeds is no problem, but I remember the Camry being even more quiet. That was the only advantage I found for the Camry. I thought price was in Camry's favor initially, but at the trim levels I was interested in, this was not the case. Granted, I bought the car on December 30th, and used Edmunds (which was $1000 better than Truecar). FYI: I just passed 1,000 miles and my overall MPG is at 30.4 mpg. UPDATE: 8 months later: 8,500 miles, 35.5 MPG for the life of the car (although probably 80% highway driving). I love my car, no regrets, I feel good driving it. The daytime LED headlights look sharp and high end.

Grips and Groans....

Great car. The technology seems to leap by decade. Especially with regard to driving dynamics and torsional rigidity. So far my biggest gripes are the following. 1). There is no stinking way to get into the trunk from the back of the car. The only way to open the trunk is to use the key FOB or the internal release lever. Personally I don't always have my key FOB with me and when I walk to the back of the car with a hand full of stuff I want to be able to open the trunk. There used to be a day when all Honda had a release lever and also a keyed latch. Basic stuff that all cars should have. 2) The HVAC system makes this irritating pulsing noise that you can hear at idle. The rest of the car is so quiet is appears quite loud. It's not just the sound but the nature of the pulsing because it feels like a pressure pulse that rises and falls. It's actually unnerving.

I have owned this car for a little over a month now. This fluttering noise from the driver's side window is very annoying. This issue is still there after multiple visits to the dealership wasting a lot of time to get a BRAND NEW car fixed. Each time they are able to acknowledge the problem, but are unable to fix it. Honda told me that they did not promise to sell me a defect free car and will not even offer a loaner while a brand new car is in the shop at least once in a week. After owning three Accords before this one, I am very disappointed in Honda. This car is great on mileage and there hasn't been any major mechanical issues.

It is a nice solid car for the price. However, the wind and cabin noise when going over 60 miles per hour is excessive and certainly doesn't live up to the industry's standards or Honda. If you are looking for a quiet highway drive, take a long test ride and listen carefully.

I once owned a 93 Accord that my father bought from my uncle with 260,000 miles and got rid of it at 293,000 miles. Two cars later, I finally decided to get a brand new car. To make my history complete, I knew the right choice was to get an Accord. My oh my, its definitely not a 93. This car is so gorgeous and the looks match the quality of ride, touch, and materials. Under the hood, you can tell that it will be such an easy car to maintain in the long years ahead. Everything under the hood is accessible and straight to the point. Honda is consumer oriented and makes Mercedes look like a Yugo. I love my car and to make it even better I got it in orchid pearl. Too bad it's a lease and can only drive 12k a year. I want to drive it all the time. For the lease, I put $2k down and my payment is $270 with maintenence for three years. I highly consider this car over Camry, Altima, and C-Class. Get one, it'll be the best decision you'll ever make for your everyday commute; )

This car is awesome. It has great handling, great acceleration & braking, too. It is comfy inside & stylish, both inside and out. The only problems that I have with it is that it does not read newly received text messages out loud via the Bluetooth connectivity. Also, the doors occasionally rattle; it isn't too loud and it comes and goes. It does not happen every car ride.

Dear all potential Honda Buyers and Honda Victims, I am speechless, disappointed and sad. I will tell my whole story in here, hoping to protect other customers and hopefully to seek help, not for any financial compensation, but to alert others with the kind of mistake they could do to themselves and their families buying a BRAND NEW Honda and trusting them with your money and your safety. On December 30st 2015, I bought TWO brand new Hondas from Hoffman Honda in Connecticut (40 Albany Turnpike, West Simsbury, CT 06092). The Sales guy was Alan Katz. I bought a Honda CRV EX edition and a Honda Accord Coupe Touring Edition ($37,000). The CRV was for my wife and the Accord was for me (VIN: 1HGCT2B00GA001393). I work in Southwest VA. It’s a rural area. I used my Accord there for 5 months from January 2016 till May 2016 without any problem. The closest Honda dealer to me is Bill Cole Honda (http://www.billcoleautomall.com/, Big Laruel Highway, Princeton WV 24739, UnitedStates). I did oil change there. Suddenly in May 2016 the horror started. First, the check engine lights start showing. It showed for 10-15 minutes and disappear. This kept happening for two months. In July, it showed for three full days. I drove for 3 hours to go to the Bill Cole Honda. Then it disappeared. They told me the car is perfect. Two weeks later, it happened again and it was consistent. It was on when I went to the dealership. They tried everything to figure out what is going on. Everything showed ok, oxygen sensor, Vacuum lines, etc were perfect. They finally told me It could be the engine plastic cover (As the error showed at this time “Air Flow Problem”). They told me that it could have been the loose engine cover. They reset the software and let me go. I really wondered how a brand new car has a loose engine cover, but I let it go. Then in a month, it started to show again, and it was consistent. Again, I had the three hour trip to the dealership. At this time they claimed it could be the gas, although I use premium gas (I even have a proof for this via my credit crd statements). They charged me “$700” to drain the tanks and lines (Out of pocket) as it is my fault. I told them I have no problem paying it, if they think it is my fault and it is a gas problem. They reset the software and billed me the $700. I immediately filled a claim against Food City Gas Station for this bad gas according to Honda (All claims, and bills are available as PDF files upon request). Two days later, the check engine light appeared again with NO NEW GAS at all. At this point, I filled a claim with Honda Headquarters (Case ID: 05223195, Ext. 117754, Agent: Sharon). They recommended me to go to the dealership. I went in there, and they reset the software, claiming it could be trace gas trapped in the system. Again, after two days, the engine check light showed again. Sharon from Honda Headquarters dealt with me in the most insulting and horrible way. First, she closed the case without resolving the issue and reopened it after multiple calls and many days of avoiding me and filling lots of complains against her. Finally, they answered me, claiming that the phone conversation is recorded and asked me to drop the car again to the dealership. I drove three hours again and dropped the car to the dealership, where they claimed they can not do anything except waiting for a Honda Accord expert from California to come and check. They offered me a rental car free of charge. On the second day they called me to come and pick up the car, claiming that Honda declined sending an expert and claimed the car is perfect and they have no clue what to do. The maintenance guy (27 years of experience with Honda) took me on the side and told me “a small loss now is way better than a big loss later, and he shared with me how he has never seen something like this before). I immediately went to a Chevrolet Dealership and exchanged my car with another brand new one. I lost already huge amount of money. Food City sent me a report of how good their gas was at my gas station claiming it was not the gas problem. It clearly Honda quality problem. Every one in the dealership called my car the bad lemon. Guys, be aware, this is what I got from Honda, money loss, time loss, feeling unsafe and worst treatment ever. I have all this documented in paperwork. I am here to protect all of you. I also feel so bad for my Honda next buyer, If you are buying this Honda with this VIN number “1HGCT2B00GA001393”, GO AWAY, RUN. I do not know what to do really. I just feel so bad and disappointed. As an American buyer, how this can happen? Why no one is protecting us? I have all paperwork with me upon request. Aside from the problems, the car features (Touring Edition) are practically a joke. The Honda Sensing Technology is a JOKE. First it rarely works ant totally unreliable. It detects the road hardly 10% of the time. The Moving Lights is a BIG joke. Apple CarPlay is practically a PAIN.

Test drive the Accord at speeds above 55 mph to be certain you can live with the noise. Other wise it is a good car. I am tall and on the fat side and find it comfortable. Two months now with the car and in mixed driving it is getting just over 30 mpg. The floor mats are crap, they wear through in months. There are actually on line blogs complaining about how rappy the floor matts are.

I just purchased on 5/26/16 a brand new 2016 Honda Accord 6 cyclinder EX-L. I traded in a 2011 Hyundai Sonata Limited. Here are the other cars I looked at and test drove: 2016 Hyundai Sonata- Regular and Hybrid 2016 Toyota Camry XLE Hybrid When I drove the 2016 Sonata's both of the models above, they were ok. But one thing I noticed is how much more solid both Toyota Camry and Honda Accord felt in the doors and the workmanship. I went thru everything with a fine tooth comb. I am a Dealerships worst nightmare. If I had to rank workmanship and quality of build between the 3 I would rate like this: Honda 9.25 Toyota 8.7 Hyundai 5 I was very much torn between the 2016 Honda Accord 6 cyclinder EX-L and the 2016 Toyota Camry Hybrid XLE. I was very very impressed with Camry Hybrid. When I left the Toyota dealer for my 45 minute drive home, several times I wanted to turn back but I said think about it over night. I went back to Honda dealership close to my house in Pompano Beach, FL and they gave me a better deal on trade in and the new car over another dealer. (Tip #1 If you don't visit at least 2 dealers of the same brand you are doing yourself a severe disservice). You need to play the game. But after really looking at the Honda again, the thing that convinced me to buy it was the outer appearance and quality of build. The Accord felt a little bit more refined then the Camry. Again, very narrow and I'm splitting hairs. The doors seemed a little heavier, everything tight and tad bit higher quality feel. But again, Camry Hybrid was great. Essentially, the Camry Hybrid XLE I could have bought for about $27,800 and the Honda Accord EX-L I bought for $26,900 (MSRP $31,580). Other great things about the Accord: V6- great pickup Ride- very nice Reliability- unmatched Honda Sensing- this is the safety package I didnt get it because its not good. In 2 years, trust me it will be standard so why pay. My experience with my local Honda dealer was nothing short but a nightmare but the General Sales Manager repaired and rebuilt the deal. In Florida, DO NOT PAY the "Dealer Administrative Fee" or "Doc Fee" they will tell you over and over again its mandatory. Most everybody that works at any dealer including some managers don't know 100% AGAINST FLORIDA STATE LAW. Usually, only the top guy, General Sales Manager knows, salesmen do not know, clueless. (Check your states law via Google) Here is Florida State Laws and my letter that I brought to the dealer: Thank you for allowing me to work with your dealership in my quest to purchase a new vehicle. Since I am a resident of XXX, I felt the necessity to shop local initially. However, I did search at other Honda dealers to allow ample opportunity to make a wise decision. This letter focuses in on a Fee called “Dealer Administrative Fee” or "Doc Fee" As I’m sure your dealership is aware, under Florida State Law, specifically Fla Statute 501.976, (16) Actionable, unfair, or deceptive acts or practices: In addition, Motor Vehicles Sales Finance, Chapter 69V-50.001 Miscellaneous Charges, clearly define those permitted charges by Florida State Law. Essentially, the Dealer Administrative Fee of $799.00 violates Florida State Laws. As such, I want this process to continue to be a good experience. Essentially, I see we have three options: 1) Option 1- I pay the Dealer Administrative Fee, take possession of the vehicle, then file a complaint with the dealer within 30 days as required by law, then proceed with a lawsuit for the $799, plus other fees, costs, and damages 2) Option 2- I simply leave the dealership with no dealer and I inform the Attorney General of Deceptive Advertising and Practices 3) Option 3- (My preferred Option) We work things out to where this “profit” fee is waived UPDATE 6/9/16 Some negatives after 2 weeks of driving; 1) There is pretty noticeable wind noise on the highway 2) The touch screen is not smooth for radio 3) Engine does idle hard off/on when parked/stopped 4) The V6 is getting bad gas mileage especially city, under 20 mpg; highway 27/28 Positive: braking, steering, good pick up with V6, don't hear engine much good soundproofing there

The car is great. Only complaint would be that you do get some wind noise at higher speeds that you wouldn't get with some competitors but it's nothing out of control. You won't really notice it if you have any audio at a low volume. Update 10/7/16: when I first did this review I had a few hundred miles. I'm now at 11,7xx miles. Cars been great. Only issue has been I had a couple dash lights came on randomly on a road trip but they went away when I stopped for gas. Never came back and it's been a while since then. Update 4/8/17 car is still chugging along great. It now has 22,8xx miles on it. I've noticed an increase in MPG up to 32mpg from 30mpg combined. Update 10/10/17 now at 34,xxx miles still running good. Although I did have an led drl go out about a month ago but it was replaced under warranty. It is something to be aware of because if it does go out outside of warranty it's 400-500 to get that drl fixed because they have to replace the entire headlight assembly. Update 4/19/18 last week my passenger window stopped working I was a little worried but it turned out to be a blown fuse. No big deal just put in a new one and it works again. I don't know why the fuse blew but it could have to do with the aftermarket subwoofer or HID's I installed. Either way I'm not worried about it. Car continues to be great.

3rd Accord and mostly loving it.

I was excited to get an EX sensing coupe for the price of an LX coupe. The wheels are much nicer on the EX. Coming from an '07 Accord coupe v6 and the improved fuel economy is amazing. I do miss the power of the v6, but the power is acceptable and allows for easy merging. I'm also getting better combined mileage in traffic than I ever did with straight highway driving and no traffic with the old v6. The plethora of music listening options are great and Android Auto works very well on my Galaxy S7. I do however, wish that I could use Pandora while Android Auto was active, and that the sound system was a little better. I was expecting a bit more from the upgraded system with subwoofer. Sound quality isn't the greatest, and neither is the bass, even with the sub. The ride strikes a very nice balance between compliance and sportiness. It feels planted, but not harsh. Update September 2016: The highlights: Positive: Pandora is now usable from Android Auto. Powerful for a 4 cylinder. Great mileage. Negative: I was unhappy with the OEM tires, so they were replaced with tires that have better traction overall, especially in inclement weather. The car will often forget my phone and I need to go through and pair it again. Android Auto doesn't always engage the first time when plugging the phone in. This is really annoying on road trips when stopping to get gas/for rest breaks as every 3rd to 4th time the system will refuse to recognize my phone. It then treats it as a new bluetooth connection the next time I start the car. Driver's side floor mat showed significant wear by 15,000 miles.

Honda Accord and Apple Car-Play make a good match

I just love the new feature using my I-phone Apple Apps on my car screen. For someone who drives for a living, it makes sending and receiving phone calls, texts and emails from the driver seat a breeze. It actually speeds up my day because I no longer have to pull over or be in someones parking lot to look over and respond to texts and emails. Besides the normal smoothness and dependability of the Accord, it made the decision that much easier to go with the new '16 model because of the Car-Play. There's really only one minor downfall of this new and elegant car, there's no little "nook" to drop your change or small nick-knacks into. Besides that minor tid-bit, this car's a winner all the way around and drives like a champ!

Complicated Honda

The car has really good acceleration and handling, very quiet, a nice firm ride, great outward visibility. But the controls are unecessarily complicated ,illogical, and difficult to use. For example, the radio volume you adjust with a knob, but to adjust the tone you have to turn on the information screen, which is dangerous to do when you're driving and quite simply a stupid way to design the controls. Ditto resetting the trip odometer. The car's manual is very poor--illustrations are very poor and explanations incomplete or otherwise inadequate and at least in one place (p. 29 on system settings) just plain wrong. The video disc manual is equally useless as it's just a video of the paper manual. In short, the design of the controls is stupid and the manual is next to worthless. The CVT transmission is very smooth. Car seems thin in some respects, e.g. the hinges for the trunk lid. I hope they didn't skimp on other things.

This car is amazing!!! Solidly built, awesome looking, and amazing interior! The outside is amazing. I never thought that they could look better in 2013, but Honda really did it now. The LED light bars in the rear are very noticeable, and handsome. Same with the front. Interior, the seats are very comfortable, even with some back problems. Great technology. Drives and handles amazing. Overall, I have nothing negative to say about this car!! It's amazing, to say the least! Buy it!!! You will not regret it.

Great newer safety features--backup camera, right side camera, blind spot mirror piece on left side. Reminds me of my old 1991 Prelude but with lots more comfort. Almost as good gas mileage as my 2011 Civic, may be even closer after it's fully broken in. Seven months and 5000 miles later--even better gas mileage than my Civic. After 3.5 years, the gas mileage is holding up, as is the car itself--it's proven quite durable and reliable. After 4.5 years, I'm still happy with the mileage and reliability. Wish Honda hadn't announced they're not going to make any more Accord coupes. Five years in, and I'm still impressed and satisfied with the car's performance and reliability. Gas mileage continues to be good, and the car still looks like new. After 5.5 years, the gas mileage is holding up, and no repairs required beyond regular maintenance and replacing the battery. I'm going to keep this vehicle until it's time for a hybrid or EV. Six years in, and all of my prior comments still apply. Very happy with this vehicle. Hope it lasts until it's safe to buy an EV in Minnesota (winter...batteries...) 6.5 years, and the Accord Coupe is still reliable, with no problems that had to be fixed. I'm keeping the regular maintenance done, but no other expenses. 7.5 years - now, some maintenance required--brake pads and struts. Otherwise, still reliable, gets good mileage and is still good-looking. 8 years in, and my Accord Coupe is still as reliable as ever, and getting very good mileage. No plans to trade it in just yet.

This my 6th Honda. One Civic and all Accords after that. lease a new one every 3 years. have always had a good experience. This last one was a let down. 2016 Accord Sport. Bad paint, bad brakes, horrible CVT transmission, sub par sound system. Overall quality of build has gone down. Have to get roof and trunk deck repainted as the paint couldn't even hold up to bird crap, brakes need replacing at 28K, last Honda Accord, same miles, same ride to work, same driver and no issues with brakes. Will not lease another one again and can't wait for this lease to end.

Newly purchased Touring model, Year 1. Performance and Handling is what I would expect from a Honda. Nicely hugs the curves and rides smoothly over bumps. Multiple displays I found nice and I don't think I would like it without it. I set the upper console to display the date/time and any alerts and left the bottom console for the multimedia / audio use. Yes, you can do that, along with setting the background of that screen. The quality of sound is nice but don't expect a powerful sub-woofer. Navigation was nice, almost good enough. The touring model (Coupe)feels like the old Camero's, nice space in the front seats, back seats are good for kids, adults may hit their head if they are tall. Bugs in the console: many times the console is slow to boot and may not start on the screen you were previously using. Parking sensor display on the monitor is intermittent, 1 out of 10 times it does not show up. Collision avoidance system seems to be a little sensitive. Sometimes flashes break while nobody is around, yet it auto breaked when someone cut me off, nice. This car is loaded! The only things I can think of right now that I would ask Honda to change is: 1. The main console uses android 4 OS, it is 1 year old and already 3+ years out of date. This should be update-able. 2. There is an option to add apps, but it is blocked. Why is it there if you are going to block it? Please update and enable it. 3. Warranty, Come on Honda, you know you are better than the default warranty. Get with the times and update it to something like 5/50000 or something a little better than 3/36000. 4. Dual power seats, currently only the drivers seat is power. 5. Power tilt for steering wheel. (Like the Lexus has) There is always room for improvement but Over all, I love this car! Update: Parking Sensors will randomly shut off. This could be an issue if you actively use them like I do.

Going to be a bit lengthy but wanted to express my thoughts on the 2016 Accord Touring. Coming from a 07' Pontiac Grand Prix GT (V6) Looked for numerous months to find a fuel efficient yet "sporty" v6 sedan. Being 6' 2" and 250 pounds it was actually hard! Many cars I didn't fit well until the Accord. Ended up getting the Accord Touring certified used with only 32,500 miles or so in November of 2017. I was excited for all the upgrades that my Pontiac didn't have. Bluetooth, Navigation, Adaptive Cruise Control and a few other features. Actually little surprised Honda doesn't have cooled seats in the front or blind spot indicators in the mirrors. Based on all the other safety lane departure, brake system, etc. Honda guy said then you'd have to go to Acura. I figured I'd lived without it for 10+ years in the Pontiac so whatever. After owning the car for a month or so is when the horror show started and the honeymoon wore off. When driving to sell the Pontiac to a private buyer (too bad) I noticed one of the DRL (day time running light/ LED strip) was half blown on the Honda. I figured no worries "certified/under warranty" called up the dealer I bought it at (Honda in Schaumburg, IL) RUDE Gal tells me its going to be $140 diagnostic fee... But refunded into the work on the new headlight assembly. I'm like no ma'am JUST need the LED Light strip... "not available need to get the WHOLE headlight assembly" $1,081.00 Yes people over ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS IF YOUR DRL GOES OUT. (Currently being investigated class action lawsuit) Eventually took to a new Honda dealer in Barrington, IL where they treated me much better and didn't charge a ridiculous fee for warranty work. FYI factory warranty was up at 36k miles and at that point was at 33k or so. Next warranty issue was the intermittently freezing touchscreen. Eventually got that replaced after dropping the car off a few times under warranty. I was getting pretty upset since I was just about to pass that factory warranty... another 1k for just the radio. So within the first few months of ownership car was in the shop 3x and over 2k in warranty work... At this point I'm at 38k miles and have had it for 9 months (I don't drive much) As many others have mentioned Stereo is pretty much crap. Turn up the bass and plastic in the rear deck rattles. Sounds pretty terrible in general... Flat/ no life to it. I've taken it upon myself to try and isolate by stuffing rags/ foam (helped a little) Just hitting bumps in the road plastic rattles and makes the car feel cheap. The 6 speed transmission is just an absolute mess. Shifting at the worst times when accelerating/ decelerating I can't say I hear it clunk when slowing down, more of a engine brake and quite the jerking feeling. The accelerating is decent but often hits an odd gear and as someone said "rubber bands" you forward. I've also seen complaints the car lurches in cold weather when accelerating with a 1-2 second delay. 100% agreed, has happened to me multiple times. Honda just says "it's the road" Pontiac had no such issues on the same exact road. I definitely miss the volume knob but fortunately have the controls on the steering wheel. I'm pretty frugal with my $ and keep my cars for a good 150k ++ miles easy. But this car has been so disappointing I've already thinking about trading it in and losing my butt on it. The Mrs has a 14' Grand Cheerokee with the 8 speed transmission. Shifts like butter and fantastic acceleration with the v8. First and probably last Honda vehicle. Wish I kept driving the Pontiac to hold out and try something else. ** UPDATE 3/2020 *** Had the car a few years now and I'm only at 56k miles. I've had both headlights replaced due to the LED strips burning out (under warranty permanently now), I've had the radio replaced under warranty due to it freezing and I've also had the Honda dealer read their own technical bulletin that went out regarding the rattling from the rear deck. Same issues with the downshifting in colder weather. Fortunately on the highway I've gotten up to 38 MPG's so for a v6 I think that is good. Stock speakers/ subwoofer are terrible so I had a 10" Rockford Fosgate P300 installed which adds some oomfh. Contemplating on having all the speakers replaced with something better, but really don't want to spend the extra money... Like I did originally to get the "premium stereo." Other then that the car starts perfectly / perfect engine condition and has strong acceleration.

I had a 2015 Civic SI Coupe before this and it was very difficult to part with. The Accord Coupe 3.5L V6 MT took my driving experience to the next level. It's fast, smooth and has outstanding gas mileage. I have the Still Night Pearl, along with the front, side and rear body kits. The car gets complimented almost every time I go to the gas station. Most of all, I'm very impressed with the shifter and clutch. The throaty exhaust note and powerful engine revving can be addictive, especially during acceleration. This car exceeded my expectations in every area. Thoroughly pleased Honda customer!

I feel the 2016 Accord EX-L is a nice car for limited use meaning around town and short trips with speeds bellow 60 miles/h over that speed it gets very noisy to the point that I have to raise the radio volume that makes me feel very uncomfortable. The noise is from the wind, the road, I think the car is not properly insulated, also the top of the dashboard gets very hot with the sun reflecting the heat in my face. _ 1 year and 4 months later, the car performs as new, very reliable but with the persistent wind noise at speeds over 60 m/h and the sun insulation where the interior gets very hot.

It's a great looking car, especially at night with the LED taillights. I want to like it, and I do for the most part. I just haven't bonded with it like I did my last two Hondas. There isn't anything objectively wrong with it, I just don't feel a connection to it. It's just a car to me, one that I won't be sad to get rid of. The fuel economy is not what I had hoped for. I'm averaging just 24 MPG with mixed driving. Hopefully it will get better when I put more miles on it. The seats are not quite as comfortable as on the 2016 Civic, but they're not bad. Having Apple CarPlay is a fantastic feature that I wouldn't want to go without, but it does take quite a while to start up when compared to other vehicles I've tried it on. The back seats are comfortable enough for short trips, and the trunk is huge. A couple of things I don't like: There is a fair bit of wind noise that sounds like it's coming from the door seal right next to my ear. There is no volume knob. Not the biggest thing in the world because it does have volume controls on the steering wheel. Still, I'd rather have one. I'm also not a big fan of the glossy black trim on the inside. It scratches easily and always looks smudged.

Came from a 2015 Toyota Camry XSE V6 with technology package: Was totaled in wreck. Thought I would try the accord touring this time, even though I really liked the Camry I had. First and foremost: Felt I got a little better price on the Honda vs the Toyota. Ride comfort is a bit smoother, and has more technology with the Honda sensing package. Acceleration on the touring is a little less peppy than the Camry v6, but good enough. Sport mode improves this a bit. Interior is more roomy and more comfortable for longer drives. Stereo system is a little weak for a 360 watt system, but Camry has dissapointed in this area as well. But the audio and navigation features are better on the accord. I have only been driving it for 3 weeks as of this writing. I have to say I like the accord so far. After 2 years and 50k miles only issue I have had is the push button starter seems to go out frequently. May look at purchasing the new 2018 2.o turbo? After a year and a half, only problem I have had is the starter, for some reason, the starter keeps going out. Been replaced once under factory warranty once, and needs it again I'm afraid. Update 09/29/19 Current mileage 89,000 After owning 3 years here are my current thoughts: Ride comfort is still smooth. However, the starter has been a big issue, Just been replaced the 3r time since I bought it new. 1st time under warranty, 2 and 3rd cost me 700+ each time. The Led headlights quit working, cost me a few bucks to have them replaced, however, Honda added it on their recall list, so I was re-imbursed from Honda a year later. In fact, just got the check. Trunk Torsion tension bar snapped, so trunk wouldn't stay open, had it fixed at dealer. The buttons for garage door opener haven't worked good since it was new. Also, the stereo subwoofer speaker quit working, but I had a new one installed by a car stereo dealer (not the car dealer)and it improved the sound tremendously. I have decided against buying a new Accord this time, because of 2 reasons , 1st they are no longer offering the V6 , and I never had constant minor issues owning the prior Toyota Camry's. However, I will note, that the new accord sure does look nice and is comfortable, and drives great. The 2.o Turbo is fine, but I still like v6 raw horse power, not fabricated HP with high rev. Now its March 30 2020, Has 103,450 miles. Still driving it. Had everything fixed including the starter, this time I went with a non honda manufactured starter bought from napa. Seems to be much better and hasn't failed. Still rides comfortably, in fact I was going to buy a new 2020 XSE camry v6 back in Nov 19, but haven't yet. I been happy with the car so far at this point. Due to the virus outbreak, I may look at getting something in a few months at a discount.

Awfull Sound System

Complained about the sound system sounding like a hand held radio with no depth to it. Lousy Sub woofer. I was informed by Honda that to hear the sub woofer I have to turn down the bass and vice versa. Even then the sub woofer is not that great. The software needs to be updated by a sound engineer. Even an employee at the dealer after I made the purchase said the sound system was so so. You can make it sound better by Bluetooth and playing through an equalizer. My 2006 Accord sound system was 10 times better. Honda told me that there is no way to help. I have to live with it. Update: Rear speaker sounds as if there is a piece of Styrofoam inside it . Buzzing. Road noise is becoming increasing louder as I drive. Wind noise from front doors. Car seems to be made very cheaply. Rattles and noises. Making me regret trading in my other Accord. Update April 2016: Had Honda repair noise in rear speaker grill area. Still noisy but not as bad. Wiper Blades makes excessive noise during rain and sounds as though it is hitting the left side top of windshield corner. Technician says they all make that squishing/banging noise and nothing they can do about it. Only does it while in heavy rain. Also found out when I enter my email address using wifi or tethering it will consistently change what I enter. I have tried different gmail addresses and the system will alter what I input so I am unable to login.. Checks for test drive: Sound system depth and feel Wiper Blade noise in Heavy rain Road Noise at higher speeds/wind noise

Great tech and great ride but it is diminished by the following cost -cutting / design flaws.. 1. No volume knob! Really? Do they not know how important this is?!? 2. GPS is not very reliable: Often takes a while to find your location/direction. Needs a better antenna. 3. Remote start has a short reach. Lame! How am I suppose to start my car from my office?? 4. There is no visor over the dashboard / navigation screen to prevent sun washout. There should be. 5. Navigation system does not show you the name of the road you are on. It only shows you the name of the road you are approaching. That is useful but it should display the name of the road you are on.

After racking up over 260,000 miles with my old six-speed manual Honda Accord Coupe, I decided it was finally time for a new ride, and after testing some of the competing companies offering similarly reliable mid-size sedans (Toyota, Subaru), I decided that I would get another Accord. My old 2004 Accord treated me very well, and Honda has proven to me to be an incredibly reliable car manufacturer. When I started looking into what model I'd be interested in and could afford, I immediately realized that I was very limited in my choices, given that I insisted on getting another 6-speed manual, which they don't make at any model above the EX. I couldn't even get an EX-L (just an EX with a leather interior). I went with the EX, even though I could easily do without some of the "upgrade" features, like the keyless remote push button start, and the two infotainment screens, which are redundant and having two is really kind of pointless. I also wanted a black car, but, again, realized that my options with the manual transmission were very limited, to two (yes, TWO) colors, dark gray and silver, to be exact. I chose the dark gray option, and when I started actually looking into getting one, I came to realize how rare they are, and how infrequently manual transmission Accords are manufactured nowadays...as in, I had to drive over 100 miles, through New York City, to a dealer in New Rochelle, NY to purchase the only one within that radius. So, I couldn't even check out/drive the car before I bought it. The Apple CarPlay is a nice feature in theory, but the entertainment system has already caused me some problems, occasionally freezing, or not responding, or forcing me to turn the car off, and turn it back on, just so it acknowledges that my phone is plugged in...this after two months of owning the brand new vehicle, with about 3,000 miles on it. The main infotainment screen is exclusively touchscreen, which I HATE with a burning passion. There is nothing I would rather have than a good old fashioned volume knob I can turn left or right, rather than have to repeatedly tap the "volume" space on the touch screen. Ditto with navigating through the various apps within the central entertainment system, like Sirius Radio. Having everything touchscreen is incredibly distracting and frustrating, as you have to touch the screen in the exact correct position or risk hitting something you hadn't desired to hit. Maybe I'm an old school 24 year-old, but when I am scanning radio stations or wishing to turn the volume up or down, I'd prefer a [non-permissible content removed] knob to turn rather than have to tap my fingers on a screen. It's confusing, annoying and incredibly frustrating. I have the exact same gripe about the climate control system--Honda has apparently done away with the actual knobs to adjust the cool air/heat, and has replaced them with buttons. So, rather than have the control set all the way to the "cold" option previously, and be able to switch it all the way to the highest temperature heat option with one turn of the knob, you must now repeatedly tap on the red "heat" or blue "cold" button. As many people are aware, when the climate control system used to be turned off, the car would still blow out air at the temperature the knobs were set at. That is, even if you didn't have the heat on, but had the knob all the way over on the heat side, it would still blow out a little hot air. And it made it really simple and convenient to slightly adjust the control to the climate you desired without having to engage the climate control system at all. Contrarily, with this new, incredibly annoying and convoluted way of adjusting climate in the vehicle cabin, you must now turn on the heat/air conditioning to adjust the temperature. As much as I hate the touch screen infotainment system, I kind of hate this even more...sometimes simpler is better. Lastly, the vehicle's performance...I downgraded to a 4-cylinder from my 6-speed V6 coupe, so was expecting a drop in acceleration, but man is this car slow...I've had to readjust the way I dive, as in what gear I'm in and when I like to shift, just to accommodate for the vehicle's sluggish acceleration. Additionally, it is not a particularly smooth shift. The car doesn't shift smoothly at all when downshifting from 3rd to 2nd or from 2nd to 1st unless the car is pretty much at a dead stop. Shifting into reverse is even worse, as the car has to be at a dead stop to shift into reverse at all, and even then it isn't a smooth shift. Could be that the car is just getting "broken in" but I'm a few thousand miles in and I'm getting sick of my brand new car shifting more roughly than my 12 year-old Accord Coupe with 261,000 miles. That being said, I fully expect this car to be every bit as reliable as most other Hondas seem to be, and I get good gas mileage. All in all, if I could go back, I would not have purchased this car.

Overall happy...except for road noise

I did a TON of research before making a decision - owned a little over 2mos now. Leased the 2016 Honda Accord Sedan LX (didn't care about the extra bells and whistles). Traded in my 2007 Toyota Sienna Van w/90k miles, no add'l money down, pymt is $205 39mos. Kona Coffee Metallic (pretty dark) w/black interior (had white vehicle for last 15yrs). A little adjusting since I'm used to sitting up higher. Seats are comfortable, although front passenger seat sits a little low and consequently a little more effort to get out. I have 3 grandkids (5, 8, & 11) that live locally and back seat has ample room/room to grow. Trunk is pretty darn spacious and came with trunk mat standard which I think is great. Purchased (not from dealer) all weather floor mats that cover hump in back to help with dust/rock collection (I live in Az). Handles very well. Disengaging "Eco" makes it pretty zippy when needing to accelerate (merging/uphill). Taken 700mile road trip and comfortable in seats entire time, avg 37mph highway cruising @ 75. Road noise is more than I expected, although because I live in NW Az (3500 elev) when the asphalt is not 'tight/new' this greatly affects the noise (acceptably quiet if road is good). Also believe the Continental tires are part of the problem, but does not really make sense to spend $500+ to replace them at this point. Overall happy with purchase, but sometimes the road noise gets to me. When you test drive I would suggest driving on different road types (good/smooth & bad/rough), LEAVING RADIO OFF so you can hear road/tire noises and get the full experience based on various road conditions. **Update- 8/31/2016** after owning for 8mos, road noise became overly frustrating for me. I beleive the Accord is a good solid car (particularly loved the gas mileage) but was not the right choice for me and my family needs. I ended up trading it in on an older/used but very well taken care of Toyota Tundra Quad Cab, which although the gas mileage sucks, it was worth it to me and I am much happier.

Pleasantly Surprised with the features it have which even an Audi don't have (Adaptive cruise control and emergency braking) Plus a 35+ mileage in Highway )I got 42 on my trip south) With Apple Car play you don't need navigation anymore as an option, Rearview Camera , Keyless entry, Remote start, Push button start ,
