Nice vehicle, subpar audio system!

I have owned Accord 2015 for almost 3 months now and I love it! Adequate pick up, excellent mileage, not much wind/road noise, quite comfortable. Ride quality could be firm for some but I find it fine. Gas mileage is as advertized, in fact many times I exceed it. But then I have a very light foot! I do have reservation about 2 screens though! I don't understand why there are 2 screens, which makes menu system unnecessarily complicated. I guess just one, little bit larger touch screen should suffice. Secondly, the audio system sucks! The sound quality is ridiculously bad. My decade old Toyota had a better sounding stereo!

2015 EX-L V6 Starter Sucks!

I am now on my 4th starter and am in constant fear whenever I push the start button. Mechanic followed directions on Service Bulletin 16-002 this week, only one week after installing another new starter that started spinning 3 days later. He "thinks" this will fix the issue but I'm not holding my breath. 120,000 miles. Have put in several new batteries also. Honda knows they have a problem with this starter yet will not issue a recall. Back to Toyota for me. Please comment if anyone else is experiencing this problem.

We bought our 2015 Accord Sport in August of 2015 for a great price from the dealer. They had to clear out the old inventory so we got ours for just over $21k. Almost $5k under MSRP, all was good for the first 6 months, then the transmission recall happened. The car was never the same. Sluggish and diminished MPG, was told the software update was done to factory spec, but what a bad deal, seems like a different car. Then the battery sensor recall along with my battery dying leaving me stranded last year, that I couldn't figure out a battery only lasting 2 years. Here is where we start to lose my previously faithful following of the Honda brand. The transmission never seemed the same since the "recall", but about 9 months ago I was backing out of my driveway, (it is on an incline) so didn't notice reverse engaging but when I shifted into "D" nothing, the car would not move. It gave a few strange revs and I heard a loud click and it finally went into gear. I looked online and I read something about fluid pressure having to build up and not driving right away after start up, so as ridiculous as it seems I did just that, waited for the transmission to build pressure (like I was driving a 30 year old car or something), but it became more frequent, so I took it to the dealer and they said "we are unable to duplicate the problem, so there is nothing to repair". I am at 29k miles and 5 months left on my warranty, so I will be getting rid of my Accord by August. Going towards a Mazda Cx-5 or Lexus NX 200t. NOTHING with a CVT transmission, and my love for Honda's has sadly now come to an end. So if you are considering buying an Accord by wary of the CVT. It was my first and last. UPDATE.... I had transmission failure at 31,000 miles, warranty replaced and at 33,000 miles the transmission started acting up again, so we traded it in and got a Lexus NX200t F sport. We have had it for almost 2 years now and it is an amazing vehicle. Too bad Honda has gone down hill, I used to love those cars.

I would say that the vehicle itself is probably one of the finest vehicles ever built in the US. Having purchased the exceedingly rare V6/manual combination, I was fortunate enough to find a car that met every criteria I was looking for. The vehicle itself is amply powered, well laid out, comfortable, and aesthetically pleasing. Build quality overall is good with only a few very minor fit/finish issues. On the road, the vehicle is rather fun to drive on the aggressive side due to the copious power and torque available throughout the operating range. Passing and highway merges are effortless...in fact the most difficult part of driving the car is maintaining legal speeds! Speaking to the manual transmission variant specifically, the vehicle has a satisfying shift action, but the clutch is very light and far less forgiving than other vehicles I've driven. Sloppy technique is not tolerated by this drivetrain especially with its highly sensitive throttle response. A few months with this car will hone your manual driving skills with certainty. Ride is fairly firm but not jarring and handling is great with good stability in cornering and maneuvering. Steering feel is lacking as with most cars in this day and age. All in all, if you're looking for a V6 and manual transmission at a reasonable price, this vehicle is probably the best option available at this time. My only complaint lies with the sales process itself. Honda dealers are from my experience terrible. Never before have I had to endure as ultra high pressure and scummy a sales process as I went through for this vehicle. It seems to be that the only goal in the process is to inviscerate every buyer with aggressive and ridiculously over priced up sells to maximize profit. I had to literally walk out twice to get them to drop the sales pitch and execute the sale as I wanted. Service is also an issue...Honda dealers seem to have a system of harshly punishing those who do not use the original dealer's service dept for service. In my case, I had to purchase the vehicle 2 hrs from my home due to a lack of inventory in my area in the configuration I wanted. Despite having no other place to buy the vehicle, I am subject to being gouged by my local dealer for routine maintenance/inspections since I didn't buy it from them. Overall, I'd recommend this vehicle so long as you can avoid the sales process as much as possible. Use an Internet based car buying service and outright refuse to speak with any "finance manager" character in the midst of the process...find your own financing before you walk in. If the sales rep or Internet sales desk can't handle the sale themselves, terminate the process and find another dealer. Do not purchase any upsells as you can get everything they offer for 1/4 of the price from 3Rd parties. Any claims they make to the contrary are lies. Also, using a local dealer you intend to use for service will help improve your service experience.

A Honda Accord in 2001, 2013 and 2015

Just to give you an idea about the Honda Accord: our first car was a Mitsubishi, and it was spilling oil in the parking lot at 85K miles. The second car was a Saturn, and the engine started making horrible noises at 100K. Then I got the car that I read about: the Honda Accord. I drove that car for 235K miles with minimal maintenance and it just kept going, until the manual clutch went. It had the original shocks and muffler after 11 years. So in 2013 we got a new Honda Accord, and within a year someone skidded into the Honda on an icy road at 60 MPH, and ripped the drivers side apart, the door held fine, the airbags went off and we were fine inside the car. Just last month I got a Honda Accord for my wife, because being safe and having a roomy, comfortable, fun and very safe car to drive is what we want. To recap: that Accord is an excellent choice for budget minded people who want the best.

Updated at 70K and nearly 6 years old. It's been a great car. Other than routine maintenance we've replaced tires and a battery, literally nothing else. Recently gave it to our 16 year old daughter and bought a Pilot Elite to replace it. We're sure there's lots of trouble free miles left in the Accord! Very happy with our Honda's. Updated at 38,000 miles - this is a great Car! No complaints, no issues. MPG is steady between 30 and 34 depending on use. Update after owning this car for nearly 2 years is easy! This is a fantastic car!!! Haven't had this car long enough to talk about reliability but after being a Ford lifer and having one not so good Ford experience I opened up to all non-luxury makes. I took a few months to drive and research everything before purchasing this Honda. It came down to comfort and reputation. I felt the overall comfort in this car at this price point is top notch, you'll have to spend well over 30K to truly beat it. Interior space/comfort, road noise, ride, handling and sight lines are great! Styling, electronics, performance are all good and on par with other cars in this class. Pricing was fantastic, purchased during the Honda summer event, clearing out the 15's and were able to negotiate a deal for thousands less than MSRP (and nearly $2000 less than TruCar's target price) and get slightly over KBB excellent condition trade-in value on our trade. So far I love the car but if I had to pick it apart the trunk is where I'd start. They need to have a split back seat available for those times you need the extra cargo space plus a 3rd passenger, the trunk support arms encroach into the trunk space like a cheap compact and Honda doesn't have an automatically opening trunk were it fully opens at the push of a button on your key fob. In my opinion the closest competition you should compare if you're considering the Honda in order is the Mazda 6, Hyundai Sonata, Ford Fusion, Toyota Camry, Kia Optima and Volkswagen Passat. I wouldn't waste my time with the Chrysler 200, Nissan Altima, or Chevrolet Malibu. I almost bought the Mazda but it's more of a sports car type feel instead of a well refined sedan so it's all in what you're looking for, the Mazda is a very fun car to drive.

The manual transmission, a dying breed.

I purchased my 2015 Accord Sport 6 speed MT April of 2015. After one year of ownership and over 16k miles, this Accord is hands down, one of the best cars under $25k. I looked at almost every car in this segment and was impressed with the Accord's overall value. I was really adamant about opting for the manual transmission. I drove a Sport model with the CVT, and boy, the CVT is not for me. Yes, I get its efficient design and concept of having a "constant" power ratio to achieve best mpg possible. I feel though you sacrifice SO much driving experience for 1 to 2 mpg. In my opinion, the manual transmission really brought this car to life; definitely more fun to drive. I stand 6'5 at 230 lbs. I was very impressed with head room and adequate leg room from not only a driver standpoint, but also as a rear passenger. The telescoping steering column telescopes more than enough for my desired comfort. Driver seat is OK, I find myself adjusting it on road trips of more than three hours - but that is almost standard in any car I've had with my abnormal size. Visibility is excellent; the pillars are smaller than most new cars. Safety is another reason I purchased - in 2013 the Accord was one of the only cars to receive a "Good" rating for the new "small overlap" crash test by the IIHS. In mixed driving conditions I consistently get 28-30 mpg. If I'm driving all highway I can easily get 35-37 mpg. To find a car that I can easily fit in, comes very well equipped, gets up to 35 mpg, has somewhat of a fun-to-drive factor, a low cost of ownership, a great resale value, and is a safety "top pick" by the IIHS, what else do you really need? It's worth the road noise and cheap feeling power window switches. (You're buying a Honda not an Acura).

Bumpy ride

I purchased my dream Honda Accord EX in March and love almost everything about it except it rides bumpy. You can feel all bumps, railroad tracks and this is funny, I watch my passengers body move as I drive. I thought it was the tires which are Goodyear Assurance P215/55/R17 all seasons. You hear the outside road as well. The dealer said they were good tires but I wanted to switch them out and pay the difference no go. Please let me know if someone else is experiencing this or is it just my beautiful car. Please help me Honda.

I have owned my 2015 EXL/Navi for several days now, not long enough to make a full evaluation, but plenty long enough to assure sedan shoppers that they must include the Accord in their shopping endeavors. I am a longstanding Acura/Honda fan, so the new Accord was near the top of my list, but I have to say they really hit this out of the park. My prior vehicle was a 2008 Accord with the old body style, and this is a huge improvement. Very quiet, very solid around corners - a wonderful blend of solid performance and value. Visibility is excellent. If you are shopping for a sedan you MUST drive this car. And the 4 cylinder will be plenty of responsiveness for most buyers.

A few days ago my Honda was involved in a multiple car accident. The car looked like crumbled up tin foil. Aside from a few bruises on my clavicle and chest, I walked away from the accident. The car was hit by two trucks. Well I went immediately to my Honda dealer and bought another Accord.

AutoNation cheated us on this car. They sold the 2015 car (in mid 2016) with bad transmission which resulted in Honda replacing the transmission as part of warranty within few months. There were scratches on the car hidden behind dirt that we did not notice while buying it. They provided one key, and made us pay for the 2nd one. There was a dead spare tire in the trunk. Also, please note that Honda warranty is only for 36K miles or 3 years whichever comes first.

Overall Love it but ......

I bought my Honda in April 2015 so I have driven it for a year now. Overall I love the car. I drive a 100 miles per day for work so I spend a lot of time in the drivers seat. The seat is room and comfortable, I have plenty of leg room (I'm 5'9"). The head room is ok I would prefer a little more. The controls and displays are in good areas that I can easily reach them or see them. The gas mileage is excellent, I average 27-28 with SoCal freeway/surface street driving. The leather of the seats shows little to no wear tear after a year. I often have issues with the Bluetooth especially when using Pandora. The ride is mostly smooth and quiet but if the road is rough at all you will feel it and hear it. When I step on the gas the car picks up and goes really well, I have the V6. What I don't care for is the trunk feels cheap, like there is no substance to it. The reverse camera has already had to be replaced because the clip was somehow broken when the car was washed and the camera was "hit". My picky self does not like the fact that I cannot lock the doors if I have the drivers door open, I cannot lock the doors if I have the key fob in my hand and leave the car on or running. I do not like that ALL of the doors unlock when the drivers door is opened. These things are a safety issue in my mind. One thing I was very surprised by and I am definitely not pleased with; the brakes are ceramic from what I was told and I had to replace them all after only 6 months and 15,000 miles which costs $300 or so at the dealer. I will be doing some research on this because spending $300 or so for brakes every 6 months is not going to be good. Bottom line; the good outweighs the bad ...... at the moment.

Honda EX Rocks

I guess your previous vehicle affects your view of this one. To me, the Accord EX rides like a dream and is incredibly quiet. My previous car? A 2006 Subaru Outback wagon that, quite literally, found every bump a true joy and whose road noise was so loud I strained to hear my passengers during normal conversation. This car? Quiet. It steers with ease, accelerates quickly, and is fun to drive. The main reason we purchased it, however, was the sudden growth of our 2 kids and the need for more interior space. If you're looking for that, the Accord excels. There is plenty of legroom for both front and rear passengers (we are all tall folk). The buttons and menus are easy to use and, mostly, intuitive. The rear A/C vents help to more efficiently cool the back seat passengers. And, the fuel economy, in mixed driving, has been a great 32 mpg. Our last extended trip (5 hours total) netted 38mpg overall...we had a fierce headwind going home. So far, I'm loving this car. We tinted the windows, added all-weather floor mats, and will, hopefully drive it until it dies. Let's hope that's later rather than sooner.

Happy with my first Accord

After my Nissan Sentra flooded this summer, I had to buy something new. After reading reviews and test driving a few cars, we settled on the 2015 Accord EXL. I was a little apprehensive because of all the bells and whistles (did I really need them all?) but after having had it for 5 or 6 months, I'm very happy for the splurge. It rides well, it's comfortable, the back up and side cameras are very nice additions. The moon roof is nice as well, although living in Houston, it hasn't been cool enough to really open it up yet. The infotainment system is nice and I like that it's not a touch screen. Since the screen sits further back, I never have a problem with glare. The wheel-mounted controls are nice as well. The only complaint I have about this detail is that sometimes the Pandora won't connect, and my text messages don't come through the infotainment system like they're supposed to. The trunk is big, but I do wish the rear seats had a 60/40 split. The only other thing that I've noticed is that it tends to vibrate a little when it is idling. The Honda service technician said this is because of the air compressor and that it's nothing to be concerned about. I do wish the car had more features like tire pressure psi, digital speedometer, etc. A lot of other reviews have mentioned a bumpy ride, but this has not been my experience. We've taken her on a couple of shorter (5-6 hours) road trips, and they've both been smooth and comfortable. Overall, I bought Honda for its reputation and reliability. So far, so good.

I've had the car for 2 weeks now (my prior review was upon delivery) and have more feedback to those shopping. Having driven Acuras and Hondas for a long time, this car is totally different from my 2008 Accord in all the right ways.....it drives much "tighter", corners snugly, and I have had no issues with road or wind noise, even at 75 MPH. THis is a MUCH better car than my 2008 Accord. In my prior review I complained about the radio, the only material shortfall I have found to date.

I have driven Accords/Acura since 1985. I like many things about this car. Positives are power (6 cylinder), little engine noise, and technology. I especially like the right sided camera. Bumpy ride compared to my former car (1999 Acura TL). Mileage is great on the highway in Eco mode (about 30 MPG), but poor (less than 20 MPG in Eco mode) for city driving. No problems with car now 3 years after purchase.

This is my third Accord. I can't say enough good about my 1997 and my 2007. I like my 2015 well enough, but I feel like some quality was sacrificed, maybe in exchange for the upgraded technology. Most notably, there is a design flaw in the doors. Whether I run my car thru the car wash, or use the do-it-yourself spray wand, soap and water collects under the bottom seal. After every wash, I have to open all the doors and wipe residual soap and water from the door jams and seals. It's like Honda wants the car to rust. My prior Accords' paint held up really well. My new car's finish is already looking cloudy on the doors and fenders.

Bought my EX-L v6 with navi in July. I just did a 3000 to Houston and back. The vehicle's performance was great . I was shocked getting 35+ mpg doing 75+ mph on the trip. The v6 is great to have and made acceleration effortless. My only regret was not getting the v6 sport to have a better performing tight suspension.

While I've been an Accord fan for almost 40 years, the various models had varying appeal based on the styling and ride of that generation. The 2012 redesign, and the recent 2016 refresh, are the most appealing versions of the Accord since the sleek 1988 generation. I have a 2015 Accord that I've driven 21000 in one year. I love looking at the car, and I love driving it. It's responsive 4-cylinder engine is amazingly powerful, and the CVT transmission helps this car get 37 mpg on the highway. I can get over 500 miles per tank when I mostly drive on the highway. The steering, corner handling, braking, and road feel are as good as an Accord I've ever driven. It's comfortable and dependable for short or long drives. The seats start to get uncomfortable after about 4 hours of driving, but are far superior to the seats of the 2010 model I used to drive. I got a great value on this car, too. It was basically at dealer invoice price. The Accords don't demand MSRP and above like they once did, so you can probably make a great deal on one. I hope to continue driving this car for many more years. UPDATE: 5-28-17 After two years driving this car I still love it as much as the day I bought it. While the 2016 and 2017 Accords have added a few amenities and offer the Honda Sensing (a feature I wish I had), I still feel this EX has all the main equipment I need. I sometimes miss a leather interior, but not on cold winter mornings before the seats heat up. My mileage contibues to average 35-40 on the highway and about 30 overall. It feels powerful upon acceleration even in Eco mode. Honda has done an excellent job balancing performance and fuel economy. The fancier EX has a second display screen and screen-based audio controls, but I actually prefer the buttons and knobs on this EX. Buttons are simple and work every time and you don't smudge up the screen with fingerprints. I love the electric start and smart lock feature so that I never have to take out my keys. I still recommend the Honda Accord to any interested buyer. They are also much cheaper and a better value than SUVs and trucks nowadays. UPDATE: 11-24-17 While I loved my Accord, there was a defect in the spoiler installation by a dealer that caused the trunk to leak. It would have cost several hundred bucks to repair, so I traded it on a 2017 Accord Hybrid with a big discount off sticker. I will submit my review of that car soon (so far I’m very pleased).

2015 Honda Accord EX-L V6 4dr Sedan w/Navigation (3.5L 6cyl 6A)

I'm a 27 year old man with a large upper body (a little over weight) and I drove an 09 4 door civic till this year when I decided it was time for an upgrade, or so I thought. Like most civic owners, buying an accord v6 feels like your entering the big leagues of Honda, and I was so happy when I got a slammin deal for my 2015 V6 accord. Fast forward 3 weeks later and I notice I'm starting to get back aches in my lower back. At first I ignored it and blocked out any idea that it was the car, but I came to the realization it is my new car. The leather seats have 0 give. They're way to firm, and it feels like your sitting on hard wood. No matter what adjustments you make to the seat, including the so called lumbar support which honestly feels like someone is pushing you forward, roughly, and not supportive like, your back will be telling you it hurts eventually. I have read many reviews about the accord seats after I started getting back pains and I'm not the only one with this issue. On top of the horrible back support and lumbar support, the seat feels like it was designed for primarily "small" people. My upper back has no support since the "bucket" style seats have side cushions that feel like they're pushing my arms and sides forward, not allowing me to actually relax my back whilst diving. The entire car outside the drivers seat is beyond my expectations, considering Honda is not a luxury brand, but how can I enjoy my fabulous monster of a car when I can't sit in it comfortably? I'll be switching to Acura when my lease is up.

In this update I have entirely deleted my original review for a more practical one two years into ownership. I have driven it through two winters now and I've decided that this car has to be the worst car in the world to drive in any weather other than sunshine. I spin out in the rain when I'm not even pushing that hard. The car is way to big and heavy for the tiny rims and it looks stupid. The seats are horribly uncomfortable for long journeys. The radio freezes all the time and won't even let me put FM/ am on or even a CD. The pandora thing never works anymore and I have a new phone. I asked Honda about that, they "have no idea". The car depreciated so quickly. There is just too many of them on the road these days. I bought it two years ago for 19500 and the trade value for my car with 12000 miles, garaged and never in an accident is 13000$. What a load of crap. I drive BMWs for the most part and when I bought the accord I thought maybe it would be the best for long journeys on the highway and for fuel mileage. However, every owner expects a little bit of versatility in their vehicle. When I drive to the grocery store in the rain, the wheels spin on start up. I rotated them and everything. It lurches in traffic. Honda said that a "design feature". In cold weather the engine will rev to 4000 rpm to get to 20 miles an hour. Poorly built, creeks and rattles come from all over the place. I'm never buying a Honda again. I'm sticking to what I know is a good car.

I bought my Accord EX-L 2.4L in November, 2014 and have 2200 miles today. For my new Accord, I was a little worried about the CVT, but became quickly impressed during highway driving with cruise control. There’s no constant downshifts with high engine RPMs and then shifting back to normal ‘drive’. The only thing you notice when going up a hill is the RPM gradually creeps up to maintain cruise speed and then slowly returns to normal low RPM, which is around 1400 RPM at 70 MPH. I love the passenger side camera/display for right lane changes. This car has the lane detectors for monitoring the center and right paint striping on the road. It ‘beeps’ at me around 8 inches away from stripes.

Best Accord Ever!!!

I previously owned a 2003 ex 4cl, over the years I always observed the body style changes and always felt they got uglier and uglier, always glad I had my despite all the improvements on the engine and tech. Only earlier this year I started noticing Accord Sport, how sporty it looked. Even though I liked and thought it worthy of purchasing, I thought I'd avoid any unnecessary spending and stick with my car since for the most part it carried me where I need to go and because of it's age and condition (I really neglected it's exterior care after owning it for only about year) I never cared how I parked it and didn't care if I got door dinged or not. It wasn't until last month or so, my girlfriend's family needed to replace a car that they totaled and asked me to help her with haggling over the cost with the dealer. After that got done, all of a sudden everything I thought wrong with my car (mostly performance related) was heightened and I found myself looking at dealer websites and customizing the According Sport on Honda's official page. Then one week I decided I wanted to test drive it so booked an appointment on a Friday at the end of the work week. So I test drove it, not in any critical manner, and saw how sporty and attractive it looked and wanted to own so bad that I negotiated the price and bought it that same night, trading my own car in the process. The price I listed as how much my purchase was the price it would've been had I not traded my car. Luckily for me the Sport trim was what I wanted and it was only one level above LX but not any where as expensive as the higher trims with all their unnecessary safety assisting tech, moon roof (which I had on my 2003 but never used), and then some. What I did get with the Sport were 18" wheels and paddle shifters and 4 extra horsepower (not available with any other trim), not to mention, dual exhaust system, powered driver side seats, and it's the sportiest and most attractive of all the trims (as most reviews point out). The only one thing I would've wanted would've been the V6 engine which is not available in the sport. All the other niceties like rear camera and client control apparently come standard. Also, even though leather was not available with this trim I was able to upgrade the upholstery with leather and the standard interior color for the Sport Trim was black. The dealership tinted the windows as was their custom so I have a pretty bad ass looking ride. The performance on the 4cl Sport is surprisingly good with 189 horses. Also it offers a "S" or sport transmission mode that keeps rev's above 2000rpm so any acceleration from that point is snappy and quick and requires fewer large downshifts when needing a significant acceleration boost. Compared to a 2015 Camry SE which is the Accord's direct competitor, it pales in comparison. Even though on paper it offers almost identical features and one can purchase it for roughly 5K less than the Accord Sport, having driven the Accord and owning it, I would gladly pay the difference. First off, the speedometer is huge in the Accord and at the center of the display console while the accord is small and off to the side. The gaps between each 5 mile marker on the Camry is tiny making it much more difficult to maintain a desired speed when not engaging your cruise control. The front dash on the Camry is also too busy compared to the Accord's and the computer controlling the radio and center console controls is very slow. Every setting you choose takes 2 to 3 times longer for the computer to accept, very annoying. The Accord is also roomier inside than the Camry not to mention far more attraction (the Camry's front grille makes look like a Cylon designed it and the parking lights which run vertical along the front sides look like foo man chu whiskers). I love this car on a day I don't leave the house, after a shower just before bed, I'll take it out for a spin.

Two months ago replaced 2013 Accord LX with "the same" 2015 Accord LX. what a big difference. Every review saying that car was not redesigned. I made a big mistake believing them. I refuse a road test this time(to expedite), just picked the color. Biggest problem: very uncomfortable seats. For two months I can not find a comfortable position, it hurts my back. Car has new type of cloth on sits and doors, it looks nice, but picks up dirt as magnet. Second is road noise. I should say it is more wind noise, very loud, especially on the bridge in windy day. Looks like cheap quality of insulation materials. Engine also got louder, and you can fill vibration when idle on traffic light.

2015 Accord EXL V6 Sedan

TMark, 07/11/2020
2015 Honda Accord EX-L V-6 4dr Sedan (3.5L 6cyl 6A)
5 of 5 people found this review helpful

Purchased this sedan used in July 2018 with 31K miles from a Honda dealer. It is modern steel metallic with black leather, V6, automatic and currently has 54K miles. This is my 4th Honda (currently have two CRV's -'08 and '16 and one Civic, '15) and first Accord. With a job change, I wanted something that would get better fuel mileage than my full size 4wd V8 truck and be comfortable to ride in/drive. Drove three different 2015 Accords, two 4 cylinders and the V6 I ultimately purchased. The good - seats are comfortable for me and the heated seat feature is nice when it is cold. Having a memory position seat for the driver is great if more than one person drives the car. Lots of room in the back seat for passengers. The overall fuel mileage has averaged 31.8 with the worst tank netting 26.6 and the best tank 34.6 (all calculated the old fashioned way, miles driven divided by gallons used for refilling). I run 87 octane, E10 top tier fuel. I did try 8 consecutive tanks with E0 but the only difference was my fuel costs. My commute was 110 miles one way, 80 percent interstate with a 75mph speed limit and cruise control set at 78. I didn't have to go to the office everyday but if I did, stayed over at a relatives house. I use the maintenance minder for oil changes (5 percent left before going in), averaging a tad over 10K miles between services. Car handles the highway well and the times I drive two lane, it handles curves well. Like the fact all the controls are pretty much the same, including basic location, as my other Hondas. And while the 4 cyl. engines are fine and I would have been happy with one, after driving the V6, I bought it. When you want to accelerate, it moves. I know there will be more maintenance costs on the V6 due to the timing belt replacement. The six speed automatic shifts well. The HVAC works good in this vehicle, summer and winter. We get to 110/115 F in the summer and about 0 F in the winter.. Like the LED daytime running lights, tail lights and brake lights (all three brake lights). Enjoy the lane watch camera on the passenger side.Back up camera works well. The fair - not a quiet car but none of my other Honda's are either. Tires and road surface play a part in that. Sometimes large bumps make the car feel a bit, for lack of a better term, loose. Small bumps, no issue. Even though on paper this car has a decent factory sound system, I have trouble getting it to sound the way I would like it to. Not bad but not great either. A plus is the volume knob. There are times the blue tooth link gets confused, normally when two or more devices it "knows" are in the vehicle. It picks one but not the other and I have to fiddle with it to get it to connect. Lane departure and forward collision warning system are just "OK". Have had the LDW go off after a rain storm and the road surface is very reflective. Not always, just every once in a while. Not so good - as with my other Honda vehicles, the batteries don't seem to last more than three years before needing replaced. Also, I have had the V6 starter grinding issue and had it replaced at 51K miles by the dealer. At the same time, there was an oil leak from around the oil filter housing that required dropping the oil pan and some other items. I normally don't buy extra warranty on a car but did on this one and I am glad I did. The oil leak alone was over $1270 to fix with the bulk of that labor costs (zero cost to me and the warranty cost less than the repair). Hoping that leak doesn't happen again but it shouldn't have happened in the first place. Overall, I like the car and it has been good to own (starter and oil leak aside). Fuel mileage can be very good if you are conservative with the go pedal. I have had 5 adults in the car, no issues and we were all around 6 foot tall. This vehicle has been a good used car buy and I am glad I didn't buy it new as the price used was about 65 percent of the new cost. Somethings to change, and they may have by now - make a split back seat. The few times I have had to put the seat back down, it is one piece, not split 50/50 or 60/40. That limits what you can carry if you have more than two people in the car. Also, I love the abundant positions that are configurable for the driver power seat. Why does the passenger power seat only have back/forward and seat back recline? I mean, the few times I have been a passenger it feels like I am setting on a flat surface. It would be nice if the passenger seat had tilt/raise like the driver. Would or will I buy another Accord? Not sure - the newer ones are turbo charged and I really don't want a turbo charged vehicle again. The Volvo turbo I owned a few years ago caused me to not want another turbo charged vehicle. It (Volvo) after 12 years and 148K miles had a seal start leaking on the turbo. If I only kept my vehicles a few years, no worries, I would get one. But I tend to keep my vehicles long term. YMMV.

Moonroof!

Got the EX for my first moonroof. I traded my 2000 manual accord LX for the 2015 EX. My old car was a much smoother ride. The new AC struggles. I hope that improves once the windows are tinted. A car-stereo expert friend installed a great system in my old car, so I'm spoiled, but the speakers in this new car sound weak. There's a kind if matte finish on the interior hard surfaces that's easy to scuff. The back seat belts choke you--but that's the same as the old car. I don't think I'm getting the mileage touted. But the acceleration is excellent. I'm enjoying the computer bells and whistles (Bluetooth audiobooks streaming from my phone. Yay!) The trunk is enormous. The dash is easy to read (my husband has a 2013 Fit and the dials are really hard to read in daylight, I didn't want that model). I love love love the backup camera. Backing up is less dangerous! I'm liking the keyless ness, though it's taking some getting used to. My 2000 was a sweeter ride, but it was beginning to get repair pricey. I think it was a better-made car, though. I'm enjoying my spanking new car, who wouldn't? (moonroof!) But I'm thinking maybe I should have rented a new car to satisfy my jones and kept the 2000 Accord another three years. UPDATE: one year in. Had the stereo speakers upgraded. Didn't make a difference. There is no bass. Lots of people are complaining about Honda sound systems. I miss the change drawer and the console tray. The seat adjustment is a complicated three-button combo that you can't operate by feel. And there's no reason for the temperature specific air conditioning. Hot/cold, blow or no blow is all the choice you need, with KNOBS not buttons, that you can operate and still watch the road. But I was wrong about its being a weak a/c; I just wasn't doing it right. The brakes stutter, but the steering, the cup holders, the cameras (my god the cameras!) are fab. A little plastic bolt cover has already fallen off my driver door. And the oil light--the owner's manual makes it sound like there's an oil-viscosity sensor, but no, it's still just a timer. UPDATE: three years in. Nothing needs work yet, but I think the transmission might have a problem. Now and then it doesn’t shift up when I think it should. I don’t listen to music in it, the sound system is depressing, even after adding an amp. The audio guys said there isn’t a lot they can do on these new cars; the radio is entangled with the computer so they can’t touch it. The interior has stayed new-looking, but no kids ride in it. The paint’s still shiny. I still prefer the cockpit of the 2000. Not my favorite car, but reliable and comfy. And I do use the moon roof.

OK, I really really really wanted a Nissan 370z. Its been my dream car for such a long time. But I realized that I just needed more room on rare occasions. I also needed to buy an automatic this time because my wife cant drive a manual. Driving the Z automatic was a bitter disappointment, that cvt on the z was just terrible. I also didn't like the idea of premium fuel again. Enter the Honda Accord Coupe. That amazing Honda reliability, a very peppy V6 that doesn't need premium fuel but still gets nearly 300 hp, and a bit of a sporty look. I bought the White Accord and the 2 tone leather seats are just beautiful. Most of my commute is on the highway and I regularly get between 31 to 37 mpg. You read that right, on occasions ive reached 37 mpg. Add to that a nice quiet, comfortable ride and its all pretty much perfect for me. I was a bit disappointed with Honda's top of the line stereo in the EXL, but after tuning in the frequency controls a bit, I am much happier. And I am pretty sure that CD's sound much better through the stereo than using Bluetooth or USB. Was also disappointed to learn that Honda is still using a timing belt for the V6, but that huge bill wont be for many years. Now for the 6 month 6000 mile update. I had to take in due to some backfiring during start up. They couldn't duplicate the problem but the problem did go away except for on more time in March. One day I opened the door and the trim fell off? Not sure why but getting it fixed this week. The other day the backup camera stayed on during normal driving and I couldn't get to turn off, was blinding me at night when other cars would get behind me. Turning the car off and back on seemed to fix that and it never happened again.

1998 better than 2015

Do not like the headlights on low beam that sharply cutoff the top of light beam and reduce visibility, this is especially bad when going downhill and then the road rises quickly. You cannot see the roadway ahead. My 1998 Honda Accord had a much better ride. The 2015 Accord ride is jarring, stiff and transmits every small bump to the passengers. I have had small sport cars that have had a more pleasant ride. Lumber wagon is the best way to describe the ride. The heater controls and radio controls are needlessly complicated. Where one knob could control the heater, there are three! On/Off, Speed Up, Speed Down. Each is distracting, you have to take your eyes off the road to use/find them. It is a safety hazard just as bad as someone texting while driving. Knobs are easy to use, and do not require that you take your eyes off the road to use them. The radio also, has too many buttons, where one multi-function knob would do. My 1998 Accord had a multi-level center console, which made holding small items convenient, and a soft-touch cover over the cup holders, which made for a more tidy appearance. Also, the courtesy/safety lights on all the four doors that were on the 1998 Accord, were not on this higher priced version, even though there are cutouts on the doors where they were intended to be placed. Road noise is still a problem for Honda to solve. I once owned a 1986 Toyota Cambry, and it was way more quiet than this 2015, or even the 1998. Also, one last item: Honda has to do something about the car colors they offer! Boring is and understatement. Look at the Ford red, and then at the pathetic, washed out red?? offered by Honda. Limited interior color choices and the sad attempt to suggest woodgrain accents on the dash, with only dull black plastic, dose not carry the image of even pretend luxury, for cars that can cost up $38,000+. Doubt if I would buy another Accord. Update 30 July 2017: I still agree with what I said in my earlier statement. I still have the car because buying and selling cars is an expensive thing to do. Luckily, I am retired and do not have to drive everyday, so I tolerate the terrible choppy/rough ride. The stupid buttons for controls have not gotten any friendlier to use. Every time I change the fan speed, I do not think pleasant thoughts. Early news releases for the 2018 indicate that maybe they have gone back to knob controls for some functions, but that remains to be seen when they do come out. However, if the ride quality has not changed, I would not recommend buying the car, especially if safety is a concern, such as distractions while trying to driving.

The road noise is very bad. On the drivers side window there was a solid air leak. Mind you this is a brand new car. After numerous complaints the dealership (Fremont Honda, CA) said that it is on par with the 2015 cars. Apparently there was a recall for 2013 cars / recommended repairs by Honda but *None* for 2015. When I insisted and asked them to measure they put a EPT sealer. The situation has improved but there is an annoying hissing noise in the driver side front window. You cannot take any phone calls in the car due to that.

I've only had this car for about a week now but I love the Sport. its simple, good looking and I got it for a great price. I was deciding between the Altima and my Accord. The Altima might be just a tad bigger on the inside but the Accord feels more modern and its a better value. The gas millage is way better then the Edge I traded it in for but I feel like it could be better. I'm averaging 27.5mpg driving anywhere from 65-80 on the highway and a lot of stop and go traffic in the city. The seats are comfy, and the exterior styling of the Sport compared to the rest of the lineup is hands down a winner.

I bought the '15 Sport in early July and took it on a tour of the North East for most of the month of August with my wife and daughter. Over all ride was comfortable with the drivers seat roomy for my 6'2 frame. Performance was great with 189 hp a noticeable jump from my old '05 accord's 160hp. I found the CVT a bit jerky at a hard acceleration until 35mph or so. It's paddle shifting was fun going through the mountains. Excellent gas mileage with some tankfills averaging above 36. I will agree that the sound system could be better but it is adequate. I will say that when I picked the car up from the dealership, on the ride home down the interstate I felt the ride was a bit rough. When I got home I checked the tire pressures and they were over inflated. Next morning with cool tires I set the pressures per the recommendations and there was a noticeable improvement. If I get 282000 miles on this 15 like I did with my 05 with minimal maintenance I will be a happy camper.

Most buy Hondas and Toyotas for their reliability, as did I in 1991 and 2000 with two civics. However this 2015 Accord stopped in traffic (local) due to some kind of engine problem with my wife driving... less than 10k on the odometer, so the repairs were done by dealer. But day in and day out the ride comfort is really bothersome and dangerous: the rear suspension is too stiff without load, and too springy with 3 passengers. The rear transmits any sharp bumps on the road as an uncomfortable hit to the back. The comfort issue disappears when fully loaded with passengers, however driving at high speed on a toll road (241) at around 75mph, when the car drove over a gentle bump the car was almost airborne scaring all of us, but it maintained course.

Accord: nice features, awful ride quality

After driving a Camry for years, I bought a new 2015 Accord LX last week. Boy do I regret it. Just sitting in the Camry and Accord, there is no comparison - the Accord is nicer, has more standard features, and appears to be more solidly built. On my test drive I noticed that the ride was pretty bumpy but I wrote that off to the lousy condition of the local roads. The uh-oh moment came the next day on my ride to work when my brand new Accord found road bumps that I never knew existed. I'm sure it's just personal preference, but I find the ride quality to be HORRIBLE. For all the would-be Accord buyers out there, please test drive thoroughly before you buy. I wish I had.

Let me begin by saying I've had 4 Honda Accord Coupes since 1996 and worked for a dealership for many years; my first one was a 1989 Lx-i Hatchback, then a 1992 Coupe EX, next a 2000 2dr VTEC-V6, and sadly the LX-S. Accords have been with me for 20 years, and with the new model they went against everything that made their sport coupe special. A Honda is know for having great road connectivity, terrific driver-car symbiosis, sharp low-end power, and outstanding pedal feedback. The LX-S is tall, clunky, does not hold a line to the road, twitchy, and somehow they took all the feedback away from the driver. I specifically chose the manual transmission for control and vehicle connectivity for winters and city driving, and it feels like a computer restricted everything I did. I would even be just trying to drive in traffic and the car would rev down in anticipation of me shifting as part of Honda's CVT driver exprience, but ultimately putting me and pedestrians in danger. It felt like a ipod engineer made this car instead of a mechanic. Making user decisions without knowing what a road is like. It didn't feel like a car, after a year of it being undrivable in inclement weather because the car had a mind of it's own in rain and snow, I traded it at a huge loss to pick up an older 2008 Acura TL with a proper V6 VTEC engine and a vehicle setup that let the driver be in charge. Honda is now trying to be like Audi it feels, more gadgets and less car. My next vehicle will be probably be a subaru, a company that still lets the driver make the decisions. Best of luck folks.

Lumbar Back Pain

I just got the car a few months ago. I drive local and just to a trip from NY to CT. Nothing but pain on my lower back. My sciatic nerve down my right leg bothering me everyday since I got the car. 10 being the worst. The seats are poorly made. I can't wait to my lease is up. I'm looking to purchase a seat cushion and go to physical therapy. I'm really disappointed. I had a 95 Accord and I loved it. Honda makes great products. But the Comfort is a Zero! Don't buy if you looking for comfort. Also don't go by my review only. Google ' 2015 Honda Accord seat complaints.' Honda needs to correct this problem or they will lose customers.

I'll start by saying I've been around Hondas my whole life. My father purchased his first in 1978 and has had 5 since. I have had 2 already and my 2002 Accord went through hell and back with me so I wanted another one. Except this car feels like it was made by Daewoo. About 6 months into ownership the car lost power. When I try to punch it, it feels like I'm dragging an 18 wheeler . It is clearly electrical but they insist in acting like it's all in my head when I take it to the dealership for a check. Best part is, I've already told them in two occasions I tried to set the speed for cruise control and it wouldn't, Again, clearly electrical but they won't own it. Buying Hyundai from now on

I was very disappointed in this car. My test drive went fine, but when brought it home and drove it for more than an hour, my back hurt. The head restraint position, and seat curves, are awful for someone 5'3". The engine/drive train started to produce excessive vibration through the steering wheel whenever it was in neutral. The navigation system, as others noted, is hard to use. It is almost impossible to find local stores without the exact address. Lastly, the road/exterior noise was abominable, especially at highway speeds. I used a sound meter, and this car had higher levels than almost any other car I tested, at all speeds.

I bought this car five months ago. This is my first Honda after having driven five GM cars. I love it so far. I have put 10,000 miles on the car so far. I average 35-39 MPG and go an average of 500 miles on each tank of gas. I have hit up to 47 MPG on the interstate. The car is quiet and gives me no problems. I hope to have it for a long time to come.

2015 Honda Accord Sport 6M

Do your research. I went to Planet Honda in Denver and got an excellent price on a new Sport. My big requirement was that the car be a manual. Planet Honda was able to obtain one at a very reasonable price. I have had the car for about 2 months and have put over 5000 miles on the vehicle. I have been very happy with the car overall. I drove the car from Denver back to Rapid City the day that I purchased it and was immediately impressed with the comfort of the seats. After 6 hours of driving I was un-fatigued and not at all sore. The vehicle drove very well, although the shifter takes some getting used to. I'm not sure if it was because I was switching from a 5 speed 2007 Honda Accord or if the 6 speed is just different than most. Once I got used to it, it hasn't been an issue. The performance is quite lively, especially (and in my opinion, only) with the stick. I've been getting about what the EPA predicted for mileage, which is impressive given my exuberant driving style. The big downside to the vehicle is the lack of a decent stereo. My old Accord had an aftermarket stereo and speakers with a small subwoofer. The Sport only has a 4 speaker stereo. While it is not bad for a base stereo, I would prefer a little bit more oomph. But I imagine that it would be fine for the majority of consumers. When I was looking for a new car one of the main vehicles, aside from the Accord, was a GTI. Obviously the GTI is a quicker car and the Accord gives up a little bit of speed and sportiness. The big draw of the Accord over the GTI is the roominess of the Accord. We have a 3 year old and he had a lot more space in the back of the Accord, obviously. While we were able to get his booster seat in the GTI, I had to put it in the middle seat to provide enough leg room for him. I have several friends and coworkers who are over 6 feet tall and I have yet to hear a complaint about lack of room. It is just a very comfortable car. This is starting to ramble so I will end by saying that despite the new car smell having worn off, so to say, that I am still very much enamored with this car.

update 02/04/2020 : still runs good. Still like sitting on a concrete bench but Honda is famous for lousy seats and apparently quite proud of that. Owner 07/13&15 models exl leather. Great cars except for one major issue THE SEATS SUCK. How can honda consistently screw up such a basic feature ? Who the hell cares if the seats last two thousand years if you can't sit in the damn things for five miles without back ache ? I am amazed that with THOUSANDS of complaints online every year they do the same stupid thing year in and year out.....

I replaced my 1997 Accord LX with a 2015 Accord LX, so it was a pretty big leap in terms of technology and safety features. The new car has not disappointed so far. I am a pretty basic car person with a short commute to work, so I didn't need all of the options on the higher priced models. The option list was just about right on target for my needs. The only thing I probably would have liked to add as an option would be the fog lights to improve visibility. I actually like the smoothness of the CVT and am averaging about 31-32 mpg in mostly around town driving. The ride is smoother and more compliant than my old model - the steering has a much better feel, as do the brakes. The cabin is spacious and, while not silent, is reasonably quiet. I would prefer less road noise, but also realize I didn't pay for a Lexus. If the engine is anywhere near as reliable as my old Accord, I look forward to driving this car for many years to come. I bought the car in August using the Edmunds coupon and Honda down payment assistance incentive, so with that and dealer discounts I felt like I got a nice deal in the end. Keep in mind, my 5-star rating gives consideration to the value for the price paid. I'm not comparing the comfort, features, handling, etc. to a luxury sports sedan. Update: almost a year now and not a single problem so far. Some idiosyncrasies with phone/audio interface, but could easily be user error. Update 2: I've had the car for 2.5 years now and other than a minor recall I haven't had any problems with the car. My initial impressions still ring true.

Bought my 2015 Sport a few months back, was kind of iffy about getting a car with a CVT, but have had no problems with it! I owned a 2012 LX and this car is much nicer and you get an assortment of standard features that still don't come on most cars. Love having Bluetooth and a backup-camera! Also love how the sport looks compared to all of the other models that the Accord comes in, love the dual exhaust!

Overall I like the car. The inside is roomy and comfortable, I have plenty of leg room and even with a car seat placed in the middle back seat, we can still seat 2 adults behind. The ride is smooth but you can definitely hear the road on the highway. What I would say is that I am not impressed by the acceleration. That is something I will definitely consider next time I shop for a car.

Good car with Paint issues & Electronic Bugs.

First time Honda buyer, 04/08/2016
2015 Honda Accord EX-L 4dr Sedan (2.4L 4cyl CVT)

Primary issues (really works my nerves): *Paint - chips, chips, and more chips... I cant be taking on this much gravel. I live in town! It cant stand up to bug guts on the hood. So, I have to wash frequently. I have had unexpected chips all around the car. Some near the size of an eraser. Its black paint and it is chipping to the grey primer! I called into Honda about this. It wouldn't be the first paint issue they have had... There was an extended warranty issued on Civics with bad paint about 5 years ago. *Road noise (sounds like wind rushing in door). the dealer said they had a fix for that. The dealer gave me a free paint pen. The first is free they said... How many will I be buying???? *Memory seating panel – loses memory or won’t respond sometimes. The dealer said they cant fix it unless they see it happening. I have it on video acting up though. That's not seeing it? * Quick and Easy wearing of the driver side mat. It’s in shreds already. Im a simple 9-to-5er. What could I have done this mat?! My mats in my 9 year old Toyota are still in one piece at 180,000 miles. * Poor seal at doors: rain water gets into the middle spots where the door & trunk closes and causes excessive spotting and moisture. Water gets in with heavy rain, or basic wash, and dust gets in consistently. Constant wiping. Rust waiting to happen... On top of the paint chips. Features I LOOOOVE!!!: Heated seats! Right turn Side view camera!!! (Awesome) Lane departure signal warning Rear crash warning Gas mileage! Smooth ride Nice acceleration Oil changes are not frequent! Good handling on tires (even better than my Toyota Camry’s) Moon roof Passenger power seats Pandora radio connection Bluetooth! Memory seats (when they work, lol) My own adds: tint & lip spoiler = a nice touch! Ivory seats – when they are clean (: [not denim friendly] Secondary issues: *Digital screen is complicated to move around in. Could be a little more user friendly *Music system has only average sound (may be better with less road noise) I think my system would be the B level out of A-C. I have more than the base “C” system but not a deluxe “A” system I don’t think they offer a choice for BOSE-level sound though. *Radio – Bluetooth has taken a long time to connect sometimes, I have to go through a lot if the blue tooth wont connect to Pandora...I have to do all sorts of TLC and re-connecting. radio volume won’t respond sometimes, wheel buttons wont work sometimes Radio issues are infrequent and tend to resolve themselves. With radio it will re-set once the car has been re-started but if Im on a long drive, it can be frustrating. *Not enough storage compartments (no coin drawer, door pockets small). *Had a problem with driver window going dead. They fixed it ASAP. *Complicated screen system not user friendly interface. That improved with 2016s (my friend has one) but Im stuck. Things I would've liked: (some of these are in Touring and some V6s but not 4cyl for more $): Better wheels Navigation Rear crash brake defense Better radio
