Smart Buy
I was going to buy the Accord coupe but the Sport was so much more car for the price. If Honda offered the Sport in the coupe I would have purchased it instead. The 2.4 engine is one of the best 4 cylinder engine made. Don't think it is too small and under power, it's not. I bought this new from a high volume dealer that had the best pricing in the state. For the price nothing comes close. After driving it for 6000 miles I like it more every time I drive it. I picked the CVT over the manual, both have their advantages but I didn't want to shift for the next ten years. The performance reviews for this class, Honda comes out on top. Many reviewer's pick the $6000 more Mazda 6 over the Honda. Update: 27000 miles later and I have no regrets. Got as high of 39 mpg and is rare to get below 30 mpg. This amazes me for how large the car is. Still fun to drive and when put on cruise control down the freeway it is so smooth and refine. This is not a track car but drives sporty in a nice way. The CVT transmission has operated flawlessly and I use the paddle snifters to quickly down shift, it amazes me that it's an economical 4 cylinder engine for the power it makes. I still admire how the car looks and how roomy it is. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles on it but has what most people would need and want. No rattles or weird noises and still drives like the first day but without the new car smell. This is a nice car and I look forward driving it for many more years. I change the oil earlier than what the indicator says, about every 5000 miles even though the indicator says I could go for 8000 - 9000 miles. This is a very good car. Update: 35,000 miles. I'm not sure but I think at times the car is getting faster. I still love this car and think that the value is excellent. The new Sports are even better but is basically the same car. UPDATE: 42,000 miles. No problems at all with the car. Drives like new. Still feel the same way about everything I said previously. Got caught in a 1 foot snow dump. The car got me home, 30 miles of the worst conditions with the original tires. Knowing how to drive in snow helped but the car did it's job, I was amazed. I would buy again without a second thought. The gas mileage is great and I didn't have to sacrifice a thing to get such great economy. I had great experience at multiple Honda dealerships also. Update: 50,000 miles. Not one problem with the car and I still love it. Drives like new. I had all the fluids flushed even though my Honda dealership said it wasn't needed. I'm having new tires installed next week. I'm amazed at the fuel economy and the great handling of this car and have no regrets at all. My next car will be a CR-V in about 4 years from now. UPDATE: 63,000 miles. I had a rear oxygen go out. It ran fine and I couldn't tell other than the check engine light came on. It was a $400.00 fix. Other than that nothing else has gone wrong with this car. It drives like new and performance great with fantastic gas mileage. The paint chips fairly easily on the front hood area. I really like the car and think it is worth every penny I paid for it. Update: 68,000 miles. The car runs great and I'm still amazed at the fuel mileage and the engine performance for a 4 cylinder. The car feels safe and handles well. I make sure I'm up on all the fluid changes. I plan on keeping this car for many more years and hopefully can get over 250.000 miles without any major issues. I am very pleased buying this car new and still have no regrets. The Honda dealerships that I have taken this car to for service have been a very good experience. I sure like the new 2L turbo but trading in a perfectly good car that I like would not be a smart buy at this time. The more I drive this car the cheaper it costs to own. UPDATE: At 74,000 miles I still think this car is car is great. Fuel consumption ranges from 30- 38 MPG. Runs flawlessly, still handles very competently and stops better than one would expect. These are the things I have spent while owning this car new: new tires at 50,000 miles, oxygen sensor at 60,000, new battery at 55.000. That's it besides normal service. I still enjoy driving this car as a daily driver and have no regrets buying this car new. I do change the oil at no less than 30%. The paint on the hood has some road chips on it but you can only see it if you are looking closely at it. The car still looks very nice and upscale. I was using the paddle shifters the other day at a couple of stop lights, having fun with the v-tech engine. I'm still very happy with the car. Update: 83,000 miles, runs like new and drives like new. It's a very comfortable ride and a fun car to drive. For a 4 door sedan it's a hard to beat. A++ for a commuter car and family hauler. I see new tires at 100,000 miles and brakes probably at 110,000. I may eventually sell it for an equivalent year CRV because my needs have changed but I highly recommend the 2014 Honda Accord. At 89,000 I replaced the front pads myself when the original pads had about 20% left, it was easy to do. I have about 40% left in the back. I still enjoy driving this car, great on long trips and zippy around town. The car still drives like new. Soon I will change the CVT fluid for the second time for preventive maintenance. I just put on snow tires so I can drive to the ski slopes this year when the conditions aren't too bad. 36 MPG vs 17 mpg from my SUV. Update: I only drove it up to the ski slopes twice, it's too nice of a car. I had to get an alignment because the right rear tire was wearing differently. It didn't cost much. I just took a long trip with it and averaged 38 MPG. It is a very nice car to drive long or short distances. Still no regrets at all! About 93,000 miles. Okay I went to Seattle and back and averaged 41 mpg. I drove above the speed limit 2 to 3 mph with easy acceleration most of the time. New air filter and 9 month old oil with 3500 miles on it. I replaced the rear pads before the trip. I can't believe the fuel economy of this car when driven easy for it's size and comfort. On my 2nd oil change for the CVT. I think that is a key for CVT longevity. At 95,000 miles still going strong and still loving it!

Home Run!
Waited a few months before reviewing, and Honda has hit a price-value sweet spot, especially with the LX model. Features at the entry price is amazing (see fav features). Compared against a Camry SE, Altima S, Mazda 6 and this was THE best bang for the buck. Love the handling, gas mileage, and the front end design. No complaints with the seats or the CVT (although I had some concerns before my purchase). After researching, found that the CVT judder was mostly relegated to the '13 MY Accords (TSB fix issued by Honda). This fix has been implemented on '14 MY Accords and I have no issues with the CVT (@6k miles now) 9/20/16 @ ~ 56k miles: Truly one of my best purchases. The car really is very low maintenance and it's easy to do maintenance on it yourself should you choose to. Would have liked the car to be a bit quieter, but I came from a Toyota and Lexus before this car, so it's subjective. Steering is absolutely fantastic, comfort strikes a good balance between sport and comfy (I personally haven't had any issues with the seats). No issues with the CVT, behaves just like a regular automatic transmission in normal driving. You only realize that it's a CVT when pushing the car hard on the highway. Just changed out the CVT transmission fluid as the maintenance system brought it up at 55,000 miles although I'll be changing the fluid out sooner the next time around (every 40k or so). The maintenance minder system isn't perfect as it only provides an estimate. The only "major" issue I have with the car is what's been one of Honda's weaker points over the years, the brake rotors. The braking function and distance is fine, but Honda seems to have used cheap rotors on this car (I have the LX, they have larger rotors on higher trims). I've had the rotors turned at ~12k miles due to steering wheel shake during some panic stops on the highway. It's still present now, but dealership has advised to turn the rotors again when the brake pads have to be replaced (don't reckon it'll be anytime soon as the original brake pads from the factory still have plenty of life left at last check - 55k miles). Another "minor" issue is with the bluetooth - folks on the other end of the line often say the sound is poor and I've had the system hang a few times over the years when the phone is paired after a while with the audio system. I've come to realize that the LX model is one of the better trim levels for gas mileage as it's the lightest model and I do prefer the audio layout with the large buttons than the two screen setup you get with EX-L and above. One of the highlights regarding mileage on this car was driving from Tuscaloosa, AL to Houston, TX on a single tank (tank size is 17.1 US gallons) of gas (over 600+ miles) averaging 35+ mpg with 4 people and a trunk full of stuff! 3/20/17 @ ~ 68k miles: This 2014 Honda Accord has been truly a great car for my needs. Gas mileage has gone up slightly (up 1 mpg over the life of the car) and there are no problems to speak of. I would recommend that owners of this vehicle change out the transmission fluid around 30k-40k depending on driving conditions as the maintenance minder waits a little too long (in my experience - mine came on at 56k or so). The car has been easy on wallet with regards to maintenance and I'm looking forward to the 2018 MY when Honda will put their turbo engines in these Accords. Looking forward to driving this car for 200,000+ miles. 9/22/17 @ ~ 81k miles At this juncture, nothing more to mention about the car than what's been said already. The original brake pads still have plenty of life left at 81k (amazing) - my drive is about 70/30 hwy/city. Thinking about replacing the rotors with the ones used in the Accord Sport as this is a much beefier rotor, but will have to check how it fits with the 16" wheels (Accord Sports come with 18" wheels). Noticed that the OEM battery that Honda supplies on the 4 cyl Accords is a piece of junk (type 51R). It was replaced under warranty originally in May 2015 and failed in Sept 2017 (each OEM battery lasted about 2 years). Replaced with a 24F type battery used in the V-6 Accords (aftermarket Diehard - rated highly in CR tests) and this should hopefully fare much better in the southern US weather. As predicted earlier, Honda is releasing the next gen Accords with turbo charged engines and a manual transmission. Mixed emotions as I've heard good things about the current gen V-6 and may go test drive the current V-6 and the next gen Accords to see how they differ. I saw how an infant car seat could be installed in 14MY Accord and the installation using the LATCH (ISOFIX) connectors and the access to the LATCH connectors in the rear seats are easily available (car seat installation ease depends greatly on the car seat is used). 9/26/19 @ 130k miles Going strong still, slight oil consumption, rides and drives like new. Last update since I've run of out of characters. Edmunds staff, can you fix this? I'd like to update this review.

It's only day one, but I think I'm in love
I have never posted a review on anything in my 38 years on Earth, but I had to throw my thoughts on this car out there in the universe. I purchased a 2014 Sport model with the 6 speed manual. It is a comfortable, precise, economical, and believe it or not, for a family sedan it's a hoot to drive. I will continue to purchase manual transmissions until they are phased out. I must say that the shifter in this car is the best I've ever had the pleasure to row. If Honda can only toss in a better sounding radio and a sunroof, I think it could create world peace. If you can't drive stick you owe it to yourself to get out of your comfort zone. It's that good. As of 3/27/2019: I can’t write enough accolades for this particular car. I’m a father of two small girls ages 6 and 4. With that comes the obligatory car seats, Cheez-it dry rub and enough finger prints to implicate either girl in any possible life of crime pursuit. This car has served witness to my inclusion into middle-agedom and my girls through their collective infancy. This machine has served as a faithful asphalt soldier through its last five years of service. I’ve been driving Honda products since my best friend bought a 1987 Accord LXi with 150k on the clock in high school back in 1992. My experience from that car has served as the basis for the majority of all of my car purchases since. This is not the perfect car by any stretch. It doesn’t have leather, heated seats, a sunroof, or brake rotors that aren’t prone to warping. Outside of that though I’m treated to a driving experience at this life stage that offers me more than its purchase price. This is a very refined, roomy, practical machine that offers 3 pedals and a shifter that is sublime. I still look for the long way no matter where I’m headed. It annoys my wife, but I get where I’m going with a smile on my face. This car has served me well in its almost 90k miles of faithful service. I will continue driving this amazing piece of engineering until it waves the white flag. I believe that to be a very long time in the future. I often joke that my almost 7 year old will learn how to drive with this car. At that time I’m sure the manual transmission will long have been phased out. I plan to buy a nice S2000 example before their price points hit 50k in the classic car market. Honda is a truly amazing engineering company. Everything I own with a internal combustion engine has the Honda logo on it. That includes a snow blower, generator, weed-trimmer, power washer, tiller, a lawn-mower, a 2012 Pilot thrown in for good measure. I have never been mechanically let down and I marvel at the fact at how incredibly well these machines run despite how old many of them are. I will continue to purchase Honda products and I can’t say enough of how well their products have treated myself and my family. They truly propel, move and enrich our lives. Thank you Honda.

2014 Honda Accord EX-L review
I admit, I was a little bit reluctant to buy the V6 model Accord due to the negative press and some negative remarks on some chat boards. I really hope that Honda has really fixed the issues with VCM technology because it is quite amazing to get nearly the same gas mileage of the 4 Cylinder with the performance of the 6. I can tell you right now that my gas mileage is better than advertised. The car is packed with useful technology such as the side view camera and Collision avoidance and Lane Watch. The car is smooth and powerful. On balance, I am very happy with my choice. Update: After 2 years with the car, I still very happy with the car but did want to mention a couple of annoying things about it. When the car is in "ECO" mode, shifts sometimes are erratic or harsh under hard acceleration. Car seems to perform much better off of "ECO" mode. Never could get voice command to work properly on the car. Lastly, I had my battery go bad before the car was 2 years old. It was replaced under warranty but took 2-3 trips to the Honda dealer before they finally declared it dead. Otherwise, the car has been a complete joy to drive. Now I have 24,000 miles on the car and no other problems. VCM is not perfect I notice the switch from 3 Cylinder mode to 6 more so then the reverse.

Incredibly impressed with this car
As with every Honda I've ever owned, this car does everything just as it should. It is beyond reliable, incredibly comfortable, handles great, is powerful and yet returns pretty impressive fuel economy for a V6. It turns heads everywhere I go - thanks to the Tiger-Eye Pearl (metallic brown) paint job and the beautiful two-tone leather interior. But more than all of that, I was so impressed by the technology (lane-watch camera, front collision warning, land departure warning) that I actually convinced my partner to replace an aging Hyundai Santa Fe with a new 2015 CRV Touring to get the same (plus even more) safety technology. Two-year update: I am still as happy with this vehicle today as I was when I first acquired it. There hasn't been one issue to report and aside from scheduled maintenance, no repairs needed. Four year update: as this was a leased vehicle, the time came to return it. With 65,00 kms in it, I only had to replace the battery and otherwise just scheduled maintenance. I replaced this car with a 2018 Honda Civic Sport Touring because the new Accord at the same trim level as my coupe was over $40k cdn or else I would leased another Accord.

4 cyl CVT vs V6 AT
I test drove an EX CVT and a EXL V6 back to back before purchasing the EXL V6. The EX interior was not near as nice as my 2011 EX interior, very plain, no wood trim, etc. Also, the CVT does a great job and isn't noticeable, until you need power. Then it revs up and hangs there at high rpm until you let off. These were issues for me so I went with the EX-L V6 (which is a totally different driving experience)
2014 Accord V6 Touring
In May of 2014 this was my firs Honda. I was fascinated with all the new features. On new cars You expect to be disappointed by the EPA mileage however this car has exceeded the expectations. Of the 4 vehicles in our home it is the newest and therefore most expensive one of the 4. Our insurance company priced it the best. I believe due to things like the forward collision warning. Blind spot camera, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control...To me price wise the features and cost are better then a Lexus I compared it to. It quietly performs well.
Make sure you customize sound settings! Great Car!
For $19.3k I think I got a terrific manual Accord. But only 600 miles so far, can't speak to reliability. I preferred the Accord's manual stick to the Mazda 6 manual stick. I swapped OEM tires out for Continental PureContact Eco Plus and was surprised at improved handling and even quieter ride. Much quieter ride than the Mazda 6. This is important to me, I like handling but low profile tires are a liability in the NE with its potholes. And the handling is plenty great with 16" rims.
I like it better every day
I purchased my black Accord Sport as a "leftover" 2014 in October of 2014. As of late March 2015, I have driven the car for 13,100 miles. As of August 2017 I have 62,000 miles on the Accord. I put some new Pirellis on at 48000 miles, and new brake pads at 58,000. However, the brake pads I removed we're all still over 50%. Since I had ordered the new pads online, I decided to change them anyway. I saved the old pads for later. I like this car so much that I bought a new 2017 a few weeks ago. I was going to buy exactly the same car, a black sport. But, they found me a gorgeous red sport special edition. Another great car. This 2014 is still in the family. One of my sons bought it from me. After 62,000 miles, the un-reset MPG on the second odometer is 32.1. The Accord Sport is very, very comfortable to drive. (I am 6', 220 lbs.) The back seat is giant for its class. The active sound cancelling works quite well -- reducing fatigue on my long trips. I have never reset the trip "B" fuel mileage calculation. Before winter, the overall average was at 34.3 mpg. Currently, after a very cold winter it reads 30.8 mpg. 95% of my driving is mixed urban. One strange thing, which my son also noticed, the highway fuel mileage is 3-4 mpg lower WITH cruise control than without - even in ECO mode.

2014 Honda Sport
I use my car all day in my sales job, so I am in the car for many hours per day. This is my third Honda Accord (2009, 2012 & 2014), the reason I trade my cars often is due to my job. Each Accord has improved each time for me, however the front seat comfort has not. I'm constantly adjusting the front seat to find comfort or to change my position. If Honda would fix this issue, they would have the greatest car. I have the Sport model and the front seats have a "cupping-like" affect causing a hyperextension of the back and neck, resulting in muscle soreness and pain, so much so I have had to pull out the head rest and face it toward the rear seat. This solved my shoulder pain because the head rest pushes the head so far forward it was unnatural. Also, to manage my back discomfort I have had to place a bed pillow length-wise to get relief. I also deal with hip pain because of the way the seat joins to the back piece. And cushioning needs improvement. The engineers at Honda seems to model the front seats after a Formula One car or a door gunner in the Millennium Falcon, way too aggressive for normal everyday driving. I am now ready to purchase a new car. I like the Accord styling with it's "BMW like" exterior, but my body can't take it anymore after six years. I tired of taking Advil to ease the pain. With sadness, I now have to leave Honda. I have researched the competition and have decided to switch solely due to front seats discomfort. Why won't Honda react?, They know there is a problem. If they modeled their seat after a Nissan Altima, the Accord would be perfection and I wouldn't be in this position. FYI, I have tried a Subaru Legacy Limited test drive and the seats blow Honda out of the water. I prefer Honda exterior styling, but like I said before my body can't take it anymore. I believe I going to get the Subaru Legacy, besides the resale value beats Honda. If any Honda Engineers are reading this, please take it to heart. Change the front seats to those of an Altima or Legacy, and you will have the greatest car and I will return.

Great car with some quality issues.
This car drives nice,"a little stiff on the suspension," but makes up for the stiffness in handling. Fuel economy is great as well. Setting the cruise at 75 on the highway I average 37 MPG, which I feel is great! Now for the bad. I have approximately 25,000 miles on the car and the drivers seat carries the look of 100,000 mile car:( The pandora app is also a hassle. One stereo was replaced and the new stereo is troublesome as well. Freezes like a computer, disconnects during phone calls, and often have to either shut the car off or turn off blue tooth and turn it back on to get the features to work. Definitely is less hands free than I had hoped!

Great enthusiasts car
3-3-2017 Update: Just turned the Sport in at the end of the 3 year lease. It was an entertaining, fun to drive, frugal, comfortable, and ungodly well built. It was primarily a commute car taking me from Marin to downtown Oakland on a daily basis. Driving very enthusiastically I average between 28 - 30 mpg on 89 octane and full synthetic. The manual transmission was a joy, and it made the commute more enjoyable - never regretted it for a minute. After 3 years I did not have one warranty claim, creak or rattle. I put Nokian Z-Line high-performance tires on at 1K, as the stock tires were really poor on wet roads. The Nokians made the Sport a much more enjoyable car, and still passed the post-lease inspection with 29K miles on the odo. Things I'd changed. The head rest hit me at the base of the neck, so I flipped them around. Even with the Nokians, I would get a lot of wheelspin with one wheel when accelerating moderately in the wet and aggressively in the dry - had to back-off the throttle a lot. It needs a limited slip. The back seats have a lot of room, but the seats are very deep; hence, even my teenagers complained about driving in a cave and feeling like a little kid. The rear seats do not fold even close to flat, so loading a bike or surfboard was difficult - sport-wagon please. While I really liked the Sport, it is a great appliance, but did not invoke my passions. Like my prior Miata, WRX or Cayman - different mission. I'm replacing my Sport with a very lightily optioned Cayman. I only have 1K miles on it. I bought the Sport because it was one of the few vehicles that was offered in a Manual transmission, was fun to drive, had enough room in the rear seats for teenagers, and I could fit comfortably (6'3" and 210lbs). It is a lot of fun to drive - even with a good portion of my 60 mile round trip commute being in bumper-to-bumper traffic. Gear change and clutch is one of the best I have experienced - slightly behind my old Miata, but better than my prior Cayman. It does not like to be rushed, however. Handling is a surprise. Very taunt with little bodyroll, but will begin to understeer at the limits. The ride is perfect - firm, but soaks up all bumps.

School of hard knocks, get what you pay for.
Edmunds asked for an update, so here it is...33,000 miles later i don't have one bad thing to say. I've had 3 oil changes, put gas in it and not had a single warranty issue. I average 28mpg combined and easily push 38mpg over several hundred mile highway trips. Previous review: In the market for a new car and a previous Accord owner I jumped ship to a 5th Gen Nissan Altima. On paper it made sense, it offered features the Accord didn't at thousands less. 2 transmissions, a new radio, nre moonroof, rattling dash, and rear deck later Nissan was finally forced to buy it back under lemon law. Back to the Honda lot I went and bought a 2014 EX-L V6 Touring. I'll say the car delivers. It's solid, quiet, fuel efficient (significantly better real world mileage over my 4 cyl Altima) and styled as aggressively as I'd like. The ground doesn't light up when I open the door and the seat doesn't 60/40 split (cmon Honda?), but I'm in love with the ride and comfort. Don't agree w/the seat complaints, 10 way pwr suits my bad back!

This Honda is the best Honda I have ever owned.it is a thrill to drive. The sport mode with the shifter paddles makes it drive like a manual transmission. It has plenty of power expecially using the sport mode. It has a sporty feel while driving it. It really hugs the road. The seats are really comfortable and the material is awesome. I love the carbon fiber. The steering wheel is wrapped in leather and feels awesome. The tinted glass is really nice. I have nothing bad to say about this car.
Car stalls and doesn't crank
I wouldn't recommend buying the 2014 Honda Accord. It has a major safety issue and it isn't reliable. I've called AAA several times for a jumpstart. The dealer says there isn't a problem with the car but they are WRONG!. I just paid over $800 to replace the defective starter that the manufacturer repeatedly advised me there wasn’t a problem.

Bringing fun back to the family sedan
After test driving what some automotive magazines ranked as the top three automobiles in this class (Mazda6, Honda Accord and Nissan Altima), the Honda Accord Sport pleasantly surprised me by overtaking the number one pick for those same reviews: the Mazda6 iTouring. Having been a former Acura Legend owner, I felt right at home again behind the wheel of the Accord. The Sport's numbers outperform the Mazda not only on paper, but in driving tests as well. I felt solidly in control at all times behind the wheel of the Accord, even with electric power steering. Active noise cancellation helps to quiet the cabin as well. Fantastic car all around!
The 2014 Honda Accord EX-L 4cylinder
I have driven about 23000 miles on my Accord prior to writing this review. This is my 3rd Honda and the interior in this trim level is upscale and quieter than previous Hondas. The CVT transmission is responsive and takes a little getting used to and does make an annoying whining noise at times. However the car is responsive and provides you with adequate power when needed. The Accord handles well especially with the lighter 4 cylinder chain driven engine. I really like the electric assist power steering, it makes a big difference. The infotainment system on this trim level and higher is not as complicated and hard to use as the automotive press and many YouTube reviewers will lead you to believe. It's a Honda so maintenance is minimal change the oil when the maintenance minder warns you, rotate the tires and follow the "manufacturer's" maintence schedule and it will provide you with many years and miles of reliable service. I am unsure of the overall longevity and durability of the CVT only time will tell. The EPA fuel economy estimates seem very optimistic compared to what my onboard mileage computer is telling me: about 24-25 mpg in a combination of city & highway driving.

Honda Accord 2014
I feel my new Honda is very reliable, spacious, fast, and stylish.
Exceeds Expectations
My wife and I just put 600 miles on our new Accord Touring on a road trip through the mountains. We drove up to an altitude of 12,000 ft. The roads were full of hills and curves that would have been perfect for a driving a Porsche or BMW, but we found ourselves more and more impressed with how solid the Accord handled and felt. It had tons of passing power, yet still averaged 35 MPG overall. Consider us impressed. I have had nearly a dozen high-end European cars over the past 25 years and the Accord comes surprisingly close to their level of build quality and features. I'm not sure it's worth spending the extra 20 grand to get the satisfaction of knowing other people envy what you drive.
Great Car... if it WOULD START
I love(d) Hondas. This is my 3rd Honda. Certified, not even 3 years old, right at 50k miles on it. Car will not start. Replaced battery. Still will not start. I look online and realize that it is due to a faulty starter, which Honda continually denies. Now I am not sure if I want to pay upwards of $500 to replace the starter, probably multiple times, when I could just get a different car and not deal with this nonsense that has accompanied this practically brand new vehicle. Come on Honda... really disappointed.

Bought new, @ 47k miles it required a new starter
I bought my 2014 Honda Accord V6 EX-L w/Navi new in June 2014 at Anderson Honda, Palo Alto. I had serviced at regular intervals at the Honda dealership. At 47,000 miles it needed a new starter and battery replacement. I've owned used Hondas since 1992 and this was my very first new car (at age 43). My 1991 Civic ran flawlessly for over 300k miles! I selected Honda for it's history of reliability having worked at dealership during my college years I knew first-hand how consistent the vehicles were. This 2014 vehicle has been a total disappointment. The Navi system is sub par and you have to pay for map updates, if you have XM radio you can't scan from your steering wheel and the song titles are truncated, the panel connected to the driver seat adjustments has fallen off, and after only 30k miles the starter was giving me issues. For nearly a year I'd get nervous once I sat my car wondering if it'll start ok. Finally the starter failed and my battery died so I just spent $865 to have it replaced. When I buy my next car I doubt I'll buy Honda again.

They just keep getting better....
Our 2014 Accord EX-L Navi is our fourth Accord, and our seventh Honda. So far, this 2014 Accord is the best ever. Superb seats, roomy, quiet, peppy, and an overall resounding ring of quality. In reading other '14 Accord reviews, I note a range of complaints...and while many of these complaints may be well founded, one must recognize the Accord for what it is...for it's value. What other car could I buy like this for less than $27K! We have owned several BMW's and other "luxury" vehicles. Most (but not all) have been a bit nicer than the Accord, but when rating any of them relative to their initial cost and maintenance costs, all fail to even remotely compare to the amazing value of the Accord. Our '14 Accord is now 2+ years old, and continues to run flawlessly. Like all my past Accords (and CR-V's, and del Sol), I perform all of my maintenance. Oil changes @ every 5K miles on this '14 are a virtual snap, with super easy access to drain and oil filter. The highest mpg recorded thus far was 41.4 mpg for one full tank, but this was a rare event which involved almost exclusively 55-60 mph continuous driving. I usually witness about 32-33 mpg overall per tank, and overall life of vehicle mileage is 31.9 mpg. The singular gross disappointment with this Honda does not directly involve the vehicle, but rather is aimed singularly at the Navi system. This Honda Navi system has to be the very worse system we have ever used. Not only is it difficult to use, not intuitive, but it also is inaccurate in providing directions. The solution thus far has been avoidance...we simply use our iPhones or portable Navi...but disappointing appreciating the $1K option price. Update 11/29/2016: This '14 Accord still proves to be the best Accords (and best Honda) we've owned. Although I had some doubts about liking the CVT transmission (we've had several manual and traditional automatic transmissions in past Hondas), I've learned to really love the CVT...especially when using cruise control in situations where more power is demanded (mountains). The CVT is near seamless, with RPM's rising to the needed power...but without any noticeable downshifts that one would experience with a normal automatic. Likewise, acceleration with the CVT is amazingly smooth. No CVT downsides at all. Update 5/30/2017: Really nothing new to report...and am doing so as Edmunds requested an update. Our Accord continues as one fine car. No complaints whatsoever, other than the lousy NAV system which we simply avoid. The bluetooth in the sound system is very good, sensing our iPhones immediately, and allowing us to stream music/podcasts from the iPhones through the sound system. Nice feature. I mentioned earlier that I have owned several "luxury cars". This '14 Accord continues to rank right up with the best of all of them. The only vehicle I have driven that conveys more confidence and stability was a '97 Lexus LS400. While the Lexus was one very fine vehicle - it also had an new purchase price almost three times of this Accord. Overall mileage remains at 32.9 mpg, with highs around 35 mpg. Update 5/31/2019 The Accord continues to perform admirably...excepting a CVT quirk. The car now has 37K miles. As to the CVT quirk...if the car is parked for a period greater than two days, the CVT hesitates to move when placed in reverse. The reverse hesitation is minor...about 3-5 seconds. The car does slowly begin to move in reverse, and once moving is normal. Subsequent attempts at reverse are smooth. The reverse deal is ONLY after parking for 48+ hours...the longer the park, the more accentuated the reverse lag.

3000 miles in.
Recently forced to purchase a vehicle, rather than playing another round of used care roulette, I bought this Accord. Why? GM has blood on its hands, Ford (previous car was rusting out at 9 years/no more money to Ford!).Toyota (my last new purchase)got stale fast. Mazda 6, was a shoe in, but seat was too 'tight' and lots of black plastic, didn't bother driving it. The Honda's rear seat is huge! I was skeptical about CVT (almost bought 2013 because of it) CVT is great "magic carpet ride". I'm a gear head, but drive moderately, it's a very nice package. CVT has a couple quirks, but it's great, I now think traditional transmissions to feel antiquated in most situations (normal driving).
Maybe I bought a Honda, expecting an Acura?
I bought my 2014 Accord Coupe in the beginning of November and got a great deal on it. I went looking to buy a black 4-Door with black interior. Left with a white 2-Door and Tan Interior. Seen it and absolutely loved it. And I still do. It has almost 5,000 miles on it now. I regret buying a 2-door but, that's my fault. I had problems with the brakes sticking when I first got it, and I'm going in Friday to have the "shimmy" checked out, that I've had in it sense day 1. This is a great car with great mpg, but I feel the build quality isn't that great compared to my old 2005 Maxima that I had. Already have several rattles, and the electric steering now makes a quiet tick when turning left.
My 8th Honda (my 5th Accord)
I purchased my 5th Accord (an EX-L coupe with Navigation ) this past month. The 9th generation Accord is different from the 8th generation (2008-2012) model in every possible way mechanically. The current Accord features electric steering versus the prior models power hydraulic system, the double wishbone suspension gone in favor of a new strut based suspension. The traditional geared automatic - gone in favor of a CVT (gear-less belt driven) transmission. The engine features Honda's first direct injection system instead of port injection. Add all of this together- and it's a vastly different Accord (yet seems to retain the most loved attributes of all Accords since is 1976 introduction.
An Excellent Family Sedan
We have had our new Accord for about a month and a half and put on about 4K miles, including a 3K mile trip. The new accord is a very smooth car, especially around town, and gets excellent gas mileage. We have always bought the V6 model, and traded a 2007 EXL-V6 for the new one. I was reluctant to buy a 4 cyl. but a test drive impressed me. Indeed, it does have plenty of acceleration and so far the CVT is very nice. Some have said that the CVT roars when you accelerate, but we find it to be similar to the V6 roar when it downshifts. It doesn't accelerate quite as fast as the 07 V6, but it was more than adequate when merging on the interstates. Our gas mileage was 37 mpg for the trip.

I should have bought Camry
While the car is not bad, there many things which are extremely cheaply made. My car just past the basic warranty started to have trouble with rear door actuator. Honda wants $300.00+ to replace it. I had many different cars with power doors like Mazda, Toyota and Nissan and never had so many annoying problems. I should have paid the $500 more and bought the Toyota Camry. There is a reason why Toyota's are rated excellent by Consumer Reports and Honda's are average. The old saying applies here that cheap becomes expensive. Also Honda does not stand behind it's product. The actuator issue is not new, they even settle a class action suit for millions of dollars. It was on a different vehicle made by Honda, but I am sure that the parts are made by the same manufacturer. Two more actuators failed. Honda won't acknowledge the problem.

This Accord is better than me
I rent all makes and models of cars for work (I travel quite a bit). I don't work for, or have any affiliation, with any car brand. I can say the Accord (I have a 2014 EXL) was my favorite in the mid-size lot on build quality, engine design, ride, and comfort. It's as if Honda knows this is a big seller car, and so puts in even a little extra engineering thought into their top seller. Paradoxically, yes, the Honda is a toaster in one respect (there are so many out there); however, it's this very reason the car is so well designed.
If it would only start
tons of issues trying to get this car to start with the push button. 10+ Honda's I have owned, and this 2014 has had more issues than the previous 10 combined!

Terrible Transmission - Buyer Beware!
The CVT transmission on my 2014 Accord catastrophically failed when the car was 6 weeks out of warranty with 37,000 miles on it. It had been faithfully serviced by the dealership and driven sensibly. American Honda refused to stand by their product or give me any assistance whatsoever. A review of complaints on the internet, and discussions with local transmission shops revealed that there are a multitude of problems with the CVT. It is designed so that when it fails, the only option is to replace the entire thing. A reconditioned CVT cost me $5200. I've driven Hondas since the 1980s and have always been a faithful customer. Never did I expect this kind of quality failure from Honda, nor did I expect the company to be so cavalier about it. I gave three stars only because the rest of the vehicle appears to be solid. I'll never buy another with a CVT transmission.

Buying considerations vs competitors
Considered Mazda6, Accord, TLX, Camry and Fusion. Ruled out last 2 for styling and reliability reasons respectively. Based on reviews and idea that I want something not everyone else has, Mazda6 was the front runner. Then I test drove all three. If price was somewhat close, I would have likely bought TLX (traded in a TL) but its a new model(no haggling) so price differential was just too much. Really liked the drive of the Mazda as do most people. Then drove the Accord and was actually surprised at how much I liked the drive and feel. It just felt good on the road and quiet. Not saying it drove better than Mazda, but pretty close. In the end, the Honda reliability and "feel" won me over.
Good car but still has error.
I bought my 2014 Accord 2.4 EX-L one and a half month ago. The first time, due to I just moved to Georgia, they denied to give me a road test with another state's driver license. The first time when I received it, it was a good car. But after 3 weeks, the Forward Collision Warning poped up random while nothing in front of my car and the camera was clear. I took it to Honda Service for 4 times about this problem. They told me that they checked everything and nothing wrong. When I drove the car home, it happened again and they told that it was weird situation. I need to bring it many weeks to check this problem, but nothing solved. The other problem is about the noise from the windows.
So Far, So Good
Purchased my 2014 Accord LX CVT new in late October, 2014. So far, they only issue I have had is with the TPMS light coming on with 94 miles on it. Dealer admitted they forgot to calibrate it when it went through pre-inspection delivery and apologized for the error. No problems since that happened. After all of the great Honda incentives, I ended up paying $19,419 plus TTL and took advantage of the 0.9% for 60 months. All of this makes this vehicle an incredible value.
2014 Accord Sport Strut Problem
I usually don't write any negative reviews but when I was researching about the issue my 2014 Honda Accord Sports is having, I came across Dan's review here at Edmunds about the same car. He was going thru the same issue as I am going thru my car and at that point, I realized that I am not the only one going thru this issue and we need to make all the Honda owner aware about the issue. All the Honda owner should know that how Honda doesn't stand behind their product and this is the last things I ever expected from Honda. Like Dan, I started having an issue with my car when it had 15000 miles on it. I started to hear roar noise from the back tires and I took it to the dealership. The tires were cupped but they assured me that there is nothing wrong with my car and suggested me to replace the tire. I always do all my regular service on time. Like Dan, I also took my car to different mechanics, they all told me that it would be a waste of time and money but I got all four tires replaced anyway. Fast forward now, my car has 40000 miles on it and all four of my tires are cupped again. I was stupid not to get rid of the car then rather I invested all the money on new tires. Now Honda dealer told me that the tire is too soft and I need to get another pair of different brands of the tire which will solve the problem. This is the last Honda I will ever buy. HONDA DOESN'T STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT.

Certified Pre-Owned Accord Sport
UPDATE 2: After two years of ownership, I parted ways with the Accord. It had developed a problem with the charging system. During the two years of ownership I was on my fourth battery, third alternator and second starter. No one was able to accurately diagnose the problem. I discovered evidence of this being somewhat common with the ninth generation Accord (internet search). Rather than dealing with this any longer I threw in the towel. I really liked that car and didn't want to give up but better judgement (my wife) intervened. I bought a 2018 Mazda 6 Grand Touring. I hope I have better luck. UPDATE: One year in and loving my pre-owned 2014 Accord Sport. It has been a trouble free 17,000 miles. My first oil change was done after 9000 miles. I'm going by the built in oil life indicator. Honda recommends changing the oil @ 15% oil life remaining. I did add 1/2 quart of oil during that 9000 miles. This is something I will continue to monitor. The only accessory I added is the OEM splash guard set. I bought it on Amazon and saved $ based on what the dealer was charging. They were easy to install, look great and function well. I'm pleased with the performance and fuel economy. I'm averaging about 30mpg with 80% highway driving. A friend with a 2015 Accord EX (2.4L, CVT) does considerably better on fuel mileage but I know the CVT is much more efficient. However I was willing to trade fuel economy to avoid the CVT and I really like the six speed manual. The drive and ride are still quiet and composed. The Accord Sport is a great commuter car and I'm still very happy with my purchase and have no regrets. I would buy another Accord and probably will since I really like the Accord redesign for 2018. Original Review: Just purchased a Honda Certified pre-owned 2014 Accord Sport with the 6M transmission. I have only had the car for two weeks but I am very happy so far. This car is my daily driver for my 60 mile round trip commute. The Honda is replacing my 2008 Mazda 3 Hatchback (2.3 liter 5-speed manual). I loved my Mazda but wanted something a little more refined and still sporty. The Accord Sport has delivered on both. Definitely a more quiet, refined ride yet still sporty. Several magazine tests show the Accord Sport with the 6 speed manual is capable of a zero to sixty times in the mid to high six second range. That is a full second faster than the Mazda 3. The Accord has a great shifter and the 2.4 liter four does rev out nicely (and sounds good). So far the combined fuel mileage (per the on board mpg indicator) is 29.8. The EPA combined estimate is 28 mpg for the Sport with 6-speed manual. I have seen 34 on the highway. This is on par with my Mazda 3 so I am happy to have a larger more refined car with as good or better fuel mileage. The interior is nice and feels well made. The driver seat is comfortable for me (5'8" \ 160lb) and has a lot of adjustment. The steering wheel is both tilting and telescopic so finding a good driving position is quite easy. It has a dual zone climate control and the ac cools very well. The audio system sounds good and Bluetooth links easily to my LG phone. Pandora plays well through the Bluetooth link. The Accord is much quieter than my Mazda 3 so that is a nice change. It just feels like a more "grown-up" car. Obviously I can't speak to reliability yet but based on previous Honda products I have owned (1993 Honda CBR 1000F, 2003 Honda AquaTraxx, 1991 and 1995 Acura Legends) I feel confident that reliability will not be a concern. My Sport is the black onyx and looks very sharp. To me the Accords look much better in person. Pictures don't seem to catch all the lines and compound curves of the body.

Abs failed at 80k miles
Been an owner for many Honda’s & Acura’s (83 hatch accord, 88 integra, 90 accord, 94 & 95 civic coupe, 2000 accord, 2001 mdx) these are own my myself & my family. All pretty good cars without engine or tranny issues, not to mention ABS issue. Fast forward to our 2014 accord at 80k miles, ABS issue just fixed today at dealer $1.7k. I tried to bring to non-dealer shops to reduce cost but they said only Honda dealer can repair, crap.... Summary: I doubt I will ever own a Honda from here on, they are just not the same anymore, look at the amount of Honda’s / Acura’s we have owned w/ high mileages. I have the history to backup my claim so anyways old Honda’s were great , new ones not so great......just my opinion before u consider Honda’s, maybe the new ones are better? 2020+ who knows..
2014 Accord High Mileage 10 yr Run So Far
Car has been reliable and has driven well. Been 121 months and have 313K miles. Oil changed 53 times w/ full synthetic OW20 oil; transmission fluid 9 times (every35K); coolant 4 times; brake fluid 2 times; changed spark plugs twice; serpentine belt twice; brakes twice. Changed air filters about once per 18 months. Have replaced one wheel bearing and had one tire speed sensor go out. Blue tooth system reliability has been only a B. Comfortable ride for front and back seats, cruise still works well. No issues with AC, power windows, water pump, power steering, radiator, blower fans, exhaust train, etc. Steering wheel radio/cruise buttons' black paint fades away, need to touch up with acrylic paint. Very satisfied overall. Will run it until it dies.

So Uncomfortable . . and Dirty!
I've had my car for just over a year. I love the way this car performs. It's smooth, quiet, peppy, gets great gas mileage, and is and good looking. BUT I'm a 5'2" female and cannot get comfortable in the front seat! It's hard yet has absolutely no lumbar or side support. I've tried every imaginable configuration including bringing pillows from my house. Body fatigue sets in after only a half hour of driving. Also, the fabric on the seats is horrible. It shows every bit of dirt. It's entirely unforgiving and although I've only had my car for a year the front seats are very dirty. I've tried washing them with upholstery shampoo but they're still dirty. The door handle is another problem; some genius at Honda decided to put cloth on it! So you're grabbing cloth (beige in my case) every time you open the door.

Great gas mileage! Terrible steering wheel vibrations and ride harshness!
Gas mileage is fantastic BUT there is way too much vibration in the steering wheel at some speeds that's really annoying. It happens around 30-35 mph and again around 65-70 mph. Makes it very annoying to drive long distances. Ride quality is very stiff causing you to feel every bump and ripple in the road. The dealer updated the engine computer and rebalanced the wheels but the vibrations are still there. I'm now working with the factory rep to find out what's causing the vibrations. This is my first Honda and maybe my last if they don't fix the vibration problems.
It all went wrong.
Warrantee expires at 75,000 miles, at 78,000 it started burning oil. No indicator or warning light to tell you your engine has no oil in it so I started it up not knowing there was basically 0 oil in it and it cranked hard. Burns oil at about a quart a week now. Whole car is totally worthless. What a piece of junk.

Worst ride for a family sedan - Shameful Honda
Driving over bumps at low speeds is a bit stiff but not an issue. Driving over freeway bumps - more drastic changes of height between two cement sections, like a couple on 241 and 71, is dangerous. Not only the entire car almost catches air, the driver and passengers are launched upwards. I had a 2000 Civic Si and even a 2006 Mustang GT that had a cushier ride. Shameful how bad this last iteration of Accord turned out to be. And reliability is an issue too - Accessory belt broke leaving driver stranded , at just 10000 miles (My old Crown Vic has a service interval of 100000 miles for this belt), and the starter broke at 40000 just beyond the warranty - and according to the dealer this is a common occurrence. The starter replacement requires removal of the intake manifold costing $1200 for parts and labor. It took me a week to get Honda to pay for part of the repair.

car will not start-faulty igniton switch
I am really dissatisfied with my 2014 Honda Accord Sport. It is a nice looking car but totally unreliable. I am the first owner and I decided I needed a new car so I wouldn't have any trouble with repairs are being stranded. A year after my purchase, I noticed that the ignition switch would not engage and start the car. I figured I was "doing" something wrong and tried a couple of times to start the car. My husband brought it into the dealership and they said it was probably the battery (small battery came with car) and that the ignition switch was not the problem and not covered under warranty. The car stranded us and we had the battery replaced. This did not solve the problem. Now it takes me a 5-10 times of trying to start the car. The panel and headlights come on, so does the radio but the car will not start. It has gotten to the point, that I leave my teenager in the car with it running so I don't have to sit there wondering if the car will no longer start. The car refuses to start warm or cold. It is frustrating the heck out of me and Honda Customer Service was of no help. They "apologized" and recommended a new dealer service and then wanted to know if I owned other Hondas. (?) I asked her what does that have to do with my new Honda problems. This will be my last Honda purchase.******After the car refused to start in a supermarket parking lot one Sunday evening, we brought the car in to Honda service department and were "forced" to pay for the replacement of a faulty starter. I argued my point, and they kept referring to their 50K warranty policy even though problem had started 14 months after we had purchased the car and before the mileage. We paid the discounted price and I called the Honda Customer Service line and argued some more, three weeks later I received a full refund for the car repair. I don't like the car, but I'm satisfied that Honda reimbursed for the repairs. *****July 2017, three years later and I hate my car. Brought the car in last year because we noticed the sound of air rushing in the driver's side door was getting very loud. I thought the window was slightly open and I would try to roll up window. Noise still there, The dealer did something to rubber edge in the window housing. A day later the loud rushing sound continued. Disgusted with this problem, and too busy with family matters I put it off for a few more months. When I brought it back to same Honda service department, I was told that there was a small gap between the door and the body of the car and the representative suggested I bring it to a body shop and have them take care of it....he also said maybe the constant opening of the driver door caused the gap since I told him how a gap was possible since the car and never been in an accident. My 2000 Camry is still running and there is no loud rushing air sound. Next car will be a Toyota. I hate my Honda. My co-worker replaced her 2 year old Honda last year because it wouldn't start. She bought a new Honda and her trunk doesn't close. I was told that the trunk is not aligned properly....

Be careful when you are merging.................
10/16/2016 Update: I have now had the car to my dealer 3 times. The last was with the assistance of the factory rep who admitted to just having a similar complaint within the past week. The hesitation/stalling has not improved (since i wrote my first review I have seen this problem described as "stalling" and I thinks it fits). I have reduced my "safety" stars to three because I just don't believe the car is safe. I also reduced the "miles per year" number because I don't drive the car if I don't have to. I have another vehicle. The last comment from my dealership was "whatever it is doing...it is normal for the car". I will trade this car in as soon as I can afford to. First, about the performance. There is something wrong with the acceleration when you have been coasting before merging into traffic. When you try to accelerate either nothing happens or you start to accelerate and then it stalls which is worse because the person behind you thinks you are going to merge and then you don't. My dealer says unless I can demonstrate it they can't help but it doesn't always do it. I've seen other complaints about it but the best my dealer service person would say is that customers have told him if you roll through a stop sign and then hit the gas it hangs up for a bit. Well, it sometimes does the same when you are merging. I almost got rear ended by the guy behind me when it happened the first time. Now I don't merge unless there is a huge gap for me to merge into and I'm worried when I do it. Most of the people who complain feel it is the CVT transmission that is the problem and I agree. I mentioned it to their "lot Mgr." and he said " oh ya...I know what you're talking about...it happens to me all the time when I'm moving cars around the lot" I told the service mgr. to talk to the "lot Mgr" about it but nothing ever came of it. Later, when having the car serviced I found that the "lot Mgr." was no longer there. Now for the head rest. After I bought the car I realized that the head rest was causing me to get a neck ache as it is too far forward. The parts man at my dealership told me he couldn't drive his wife's Accord for the same reason. I tried to find an upholstery person to fix it for me but no one wanted to touch it. I finally I opened it myself and used my wife's carving knife to shave the foam rubber down and stitched it up with mono fishing line. It was a shame to have to do that but Honda (I called Honda customer service) wouldn't help me so I had no choice. At least my dealer parts man tried to help. The head rest was made by two manufacturers so he ordered the other one for me but it was the same. I think he was hoping that would work so he could do the same for his wife's car. By the way, this problem also occurs when parking. If you turn into a parking space and realize you aren't straight enough and have to back out and go forward again, the car may stall and then suddenly surge forward so I don't park where there is a curb or concrete block in front of me for fear I might hit it or worse yet go over it. Now for the tech stuff. The email & texting features don't work. They don't tell you that only certain cell phones will work with the system when you buy the car. I am sorry I purchased this car. I also have a 2008 Honda CRV which is a great car (including the head rest) but it also now comes with a CVT transmission. I won't buy another Honda. Update 4/12/17: I have since realized that the "stalling" is more likely to happen if you are on an incline. It will also do it if you are backing up and then put the car in drive and step on the gas. It sometimes stalls and then lurches forward because it now has fuel in the system that you have applied when the car stalled. I also read a comment from another owner who stated that while applying gas with enough pressure on the brake to allow him to keep the RPM'S up without accelerating he can avoid the stalling. That is what I am doing now when I merge. I'm sure this is not good for the transmission but what else can you do? By the way. I have since traded in my CRV on a Ford Escape. They don't have a CVT transmission. 7/10/17 Update. I am now looking to replace my Accord. IT WILL NOT BE A HONDA! 4/13/18 Update: Even though I am not prepared to get rid of this lemon as yet, I went looking at new cars. I was impressed buy the Subaru until I found out they also have a cvt transmission. I told the salesperson about my problems with the cvt in my Honda. I was referred to the Subaru service mgr. who told me that Subaru & others had a similar problem with their cvt's as well but that there is now a fix for it. I called Honda AGAIN and told them what I had learned. The representative surprised me when he found that there was one for the Honda. I have run out of space & can't complete this update. iT'S TOO BAD AS THE STORY GETS EVEN MORE RIDICULOUS!

Great Car crappy CVT
I use the car for work and drive 30K a year! I have owned several CVT vehicles before this and this by far has the worst CVT I have ever owned. Car shutters until warmed up and I recently lost reverse until warmed up. Honda dealer replaced the valve body in the CVT as that is Hondas fix for the Accords and CRV's with this issue. This is a common problem in the 13-14 Accord and CRV. I now have reverse again however the shutter is still there. Besides the CVT its a great car! This is probably my fourth or fifth Honda and up to this car Honda for me meant reliability and resale. This will be my last Honda as the reliability is a real concern. I just bought my wife a 16 Pathfinder Platinum as the Pilot Elite has known transmission issues as well. Sorry Honda you lost me as a customer!

Lesson learned over 10 years, buy Honda.
Hit 11K today after a 620 mile round trip. MPG is well better than stated, I get 34 highway driving it like I stole it. I'm just SO happy with this car. It's smooth, fast, comfortable, full of the latest tech, reliable and affordable. All I've done is put gas in it and change the oil around 8K (there's an oil life guage that tells you when to change it, I change early. Amazing. It took 10 years to learn the lesson to stick w/Honda after my 2004 that was bullet proof. I replaced a 13 Altima, bought back under lemon law due to numerous problems, largest being dropped the transmission twice within 7k miles. The Lord works in mysterious ways, got enough $ to upgrade to the V6. Love my Honda!
Awesome car!
This car is amazing. I've had zero issues with it so far. The only things I've done so far was changed the oil and transmission fluid. Changed tranny at 40k miles. The sound system needs some work but I noticed that any model but the EX-L have a pretty good sound system. The speakers are garbage in every model, but the EX-L absolutely sounds horrible. Bluetooth sounds a little better, but horrible for the money. The engine and transmission have been great so far, no oil consumption (knock on wood). Brakes could use a little work also, but I'm planning on upgrading to a more performance style brake with more "bite." The car is super quiet on the inside and very comfortable. I get a little anxious in the drivers seat because my back and legs get tired. They aren't the most comfortable for long road trips, but driving around town it's perfect. I'm hoping to get at least 200k miles out of the car without any major problems. UPDATE (3/16/21): Not sure when I wrote the first review, but honestly, nothing has changed with car. Currently sitting at 82k miles and have not one issue with the car. Still zero oil consumption, (oil does not move an ounce) among 6k mile oil changes and transmission is excellent condition with fluid changes every 25k miles. I achieved my personal best for MPG at 37.7 mpg along a 300 mile roundtrip ranging between 75 and 80 mph. As for the audio and speakers, they are not bad. The "radio" is pretty bad, but Bluetooth does not sound bad at all. The infotainment system sometimes acts up but it is not bad to live with, as it does not do it all the time and has done it since the car was purchased. Not too sure why there are many complaints on oil consumption with this car as I own two of these vehicles and not one burns oil. Just make a habit to check your oil often before you drive with low oil unnoticed and then complain the car burns oil thereafter. Update (3/17/23) I still have not many complaints with this car. I have 113,000 miles (car still does not burn any oil). I did spark plugs around 90k miles and noticed one of the tube seals was bad. I replaced the valve cover gasket and spark plug tube seals myself (very easy, anyone can do it with basic knowledge). The timing chain tensioner was very noisy (since I bought the car with 30,000 miles). Found Hondas TSB online and decided to change it. No noise and I did it 30k miles ago. I did notice my rear main seal is starting to leak pretty bad, I have to add about a half quart of oil in 5k miles, but not bad at all. I know this car does not burn oil because the exhaust too stays very clean (no carbon at all). With 113k miles I’m still averaging about 35 mpg. As a reminder, please make sure to check oil regularly. Once it runs low once, will most likely start burning oil after that. With my previous review I’ve stated how important it is. About a decade ago, manufacturers weren’t using low tension piston rings and most people could get by not checking oil. Todays car require it as they use low tension rings. Surprisingly, this car does not burn any even with the mileage. Don’t let it run low, EVER!

Great everyday sedan
Got a great deal on the car. I've owned honda civic, toyota camry and acura rsx in the past and this is one of the best cars I've owned so far. Electronic Stability Control worked great while driving during snow storm. So far so good.

Faulty Starter
Starter needs to be replaced with 26,500 miles on the car. Seems to be a common problem with this car. Also, the tires that came with the car do not do well in the rain or snow. Honda quality has definitely declined.

Beware!
Do not buy this car unless you want to get stranded! My car is 4 yrs old w/60,000 miles on it and my starter is going bad. When you push to start all it does is make a click. You have to push and hold it like 8-10 time before it starts. I do not understand why there isn't a recall for this issue. I got an estimate of $700 to fix!!! This is not a good look Honda!
