2025 Genesis G80 Consumer Reviews

Amazing Value -- Used G80s
Since the used car market has somewhat leveled off, I am back to buying slightly used cars. This is my second Genesis in 12 months. Had a 2022 GV70 which was excellent. Now I have a 2023 G80 Prestige with 30k miles. The dollar-for-dollar value on these cars vs. other luxury cars is a no-brainer. The good: Car drives like a dream; smooth, quiet and frugal. I have the AWD 2.5t and on a recent road trip go close to 30 mpg total round trip. The prestige comes with so many features it takes some learning for sure. For one, I didn't know I could adjust the seat cushion hardness... it's the same lever as the thigh extension; you just have to push it up and down. You can also adjust your side bolsters which is a very nice feature. The sound system is awesome and the controls for all of the multi-media are very intuitive. The car, like all cars does have some minor faults: Most likely your sunroof will start to creak. This can be remedied by taking it to the dealer and having them fix the issue under warranty. So, if you notice noise from the sunroof while driving and the car is on a dealer lot, don't worry.. get the car anyway. Also, for those taller people, the roofline is rather low, especially with the sunroof. I'm 6 feet and it's ok for me, even with the seat up higher. However, there isn't much headroom so spare. The dealer experience can be shady if you service at a Hyundai place. I take my car to a dedicated Genesis dealer and these guys are AMAZING!! better than BMW or MB. As a matter a fact, I'm getting the sunroof issue fixed right now and have a nice loaner. The car also has issues with the chrome window trim.. This too will be taken car of under warranty if you ask. Beyond those issues there aren't many things to complain about. I'd say the only other small issue is the LED interior lighting is a bit stingy and not very bright. Even in the new 2025 models it's a bit nicer but not great. Genesis needs to look to MB for some inspiration. All in all, it's a great car which you can acquire for almost half the price 2-3 years later and unlike the Germans, you'll still have plenty of warranty to determine if it's going to be a good car.

Only needs a few changes
My only complaint are the gauges. In these times and price range, the advanced package MUST have fully digital gauges. UPDATE: only 2 issues: for this price point the advanced package MUST come with a full digital valuable. And the steering wheel is old fashioned looking. Otherwise very striking car.
