2015 Ford Transit Connect Cargo Van XL 4dr Minivan w/Rear Liftgate LWB (2.5L 4cyl 6A)

It's small but roomy. I purchased it in January and have about 10k miles on it. I am 6'2' and it's very comfortable. I am in it a lot Monday through Friday. This model does not come with a glass on the sliding door so that is an upgrade in my immediate future that I need for getting out of parking spots. I also want a rear recordable camera for backing up and watching the back. I have one in the front. I didn't think I would like the rear lift gate but I do. Previous to this van I have had several Astro vans but of course they stopped making them. I had to downsize a bit on tools and equipment but some items and tools I carried around for years and never used so for me it was no problem. Everything about the van works great. The transmission sometimes seems a little confused. I believe it's made in France. We will see how long it lasts. My Astros went over 150k on the transmissions. Gas milage is almost twice the Astro so I am saving dollars left and right. So far a great little truck that fits everywhere. I have about 85k on it now and just put the first set of brakes on. I got the side window which was a necessity for me for backing out. Love this little truck. Now I have 105 K 8-14-19 and the truck just keeps on going. I have not had a repair yet. I usually sell at 150k so let's see how far it goes.

Cabin is comfortable, fairly roomy for a smaller vehicle, but not much in the way of storage compartments. Handling is nimble, very compliant. This vehicle is "peppy" enough around town and actually fun to drive - but not a lot of "giddy up" when merging onto the highway. Ford annoyingly chose to leave out a way to switch off interior cargo LED's.

The 4 wheel disk brakes are very nice with smooth, positive and very controlled braking. Allows the smoothest stopping I've ever been able to do. The engine/transmission combination is the best I have ever driven. Snappy if needed and VERY smooth acceleration with shifting done quietly and without notice. The vehicle I have is a cargo van with trailer package, large mirrors and rear windows. It has no back seats. The vehicle has big front door entrance and is one reason I purchased. I am older and stiffer that used to be and my previous vehicle was a 05 Scion that was the easiest to enter of any car I have owned. I changed to Ford as Scion messed it up by making it sleeker and lower and harder to enter. The Ford gets 25.9 mpg which is acceptable to me now as gas has gone below $2.00 in my area. I have had one problem with my trailer package. When it is rainy or snowy, (undercarriage is wet) the warning lights tell me I have a faulty trailer light even though I'm not using a trailer. I went to the dealer for repair and the mechanic said he could not find a problem. I asked him if he wet the underside and he said no! IDIOT! I now have over 40,000 miles on the vehicle and it still gives me the the warning. I haven't been back to the dealer yet as I am in Virginia and the dealer is in Rock Hill, SC. It has recently been bought up by the Sonic Distributorship so I should probably go back and try again. This time I will wet it down before I take it in. I have checked the mileage against what the vehicle computer says and it is accurate and 25.9 is still my mileage. Other than this, I am very satisfied. Update with 60,000+ miles on vehicle. Still enjoying it as before. Mileage has improved a little and trailer hitch is still a problem. Overall, very satisfied.

Skinny but Tall

2017 Ford Transit Connect Wagon Titanium LWB 4dr Minivan (2.5L 4cyl 6A)

I have the Titanium Long Wagon. I really have enjoyed this vehicle. It drives like a small car and is very nimble. The 2.5 engine is okay, it isn't fast but is plenty capable for the vehicle. I have averaged 22mpg with 2 adults and 3 kids riding in it. The seats are pretty comfortable for around town. The passenger area is good for a small family. The cargo area behind the third row is small without having the seats slid all the way up. With the seats folded down there is a great amount of cargo space. My only complaint of the cargo room is the back is only 46" wide. I wish it was 48" wide for carrying a sheet of plywood. I traded my truck for a family vehicle and that is the main thing I miss. I like my little wagon but then again I like odd vehicles.

I am very happy with my purchase. This van is economical and spacious. The interior is well thought out and comfortable. The back is large and spacious to hold lots of cargo. Gas mileage is very good, especially for a cargo van. Looks very good, and after my graphics were applied, it has drawn a lot of interest and subsequent business. Hands down it is my best advertisement. I get many comments on how good it looks. After 26,000 miles, no problems encountered...I still love it.
