Can't think of a better car for the price

2002 Ford Taurus SES 4dr Sedan (3.0L 6cyl 4A)

Bought this car used with 8,900 miles on it. New price was 21K, I paid 14K. Durotech engine has been great. Just oil changes, air filters, and one tune-up. Front brake pads replaced once, tires replaced once, one wheel alinment. Car now has 80,000 miles on it. Paint still shines, interior is like new, everything still works. No rattles or other noises. Much better car than the Honda I once owned. Very comfortable, handles well, good ride quality. Best part, you can buy them used really cheap unlike overpriced imports.

One Fit Ford

My 2002 Ford Taurus is doing well at 316,000 plus miles. I bought it in 2003 with 24,000 miles on it and have maintained it well. It is mechanically sound and with timely, complete maintenance, I have never had any problems with the motor nor transmission. I have replaced the battery, starter, alternator, etc. but nothing major. I live in the metro Detroit, Michigan area where salt is used in the winter. As a result, the rocker panels are rusty but the rest of the body is holding up well. I have thoroughly enjoyed owning and driving this vehicle and would buy it again if I could, but the past is the past. Right now, I am shooting for 400,000 miles.

205,000 miles still ticking

IV owed this car for 15 years now with 205,000 miles it's still going. Had to put a junkyard transmission in it not too long ago, and a $17 oil preasure switch and a new tensioner but it's to be expected at that age and miliage. Idles a bit rough when first started but like I said she's old been from Maine to Florida, Alabama now Tennesee. With age and wear and tear you can expect to have repairs. It's been a great car.

Reliable and efficient car

This Taurus is a great little car that does everything asked of it. It has over 128,000 miles and all we have done besides regular maintinence is replace the battery and fix some dents. It has withstood driving gravel roads every single day. The V6 engine offers enough power but is also fuel efficient. Edmunds says 25 highway, i get 26. Its not the most luxurious car, but it is great for a family car or a school car. If you need an inexpensive car to use as a family vehicle, this car is definitly worth a look.

Trusty but Rusty

I have owned my 2002 Ford Taurus for the past 6 years and have 123,000 miles on it and can say it has been a comfortable and dependable car to this point. I had to replace the front rotors at about 90k and have both ball joints replaced in the front end, but outside of that it is a good daily driver. Be careful to watch above the rear fenders for rust as it likes to start from the inside, I found out that they tend to rust very easily due to not being sealed well at the factory, mine didn't show rust until 6 months outside of the 6 year body warranty and the factory would not help. Overall I like to exterior looks and smooth lines, but the rust is getting worse.
