1994 Taurus Wagon Review
This car is comfortable to ride in. It can accommodate up to 8 people with the foldout back seat. Things that tend to break are more unusual. Starter motor and ignition switch, window buttons, windshield wiper motor. We did have to have the engine replaced under warranty because of a drip from the oil compartment. I like the car and find that it is reliable. I'd buy the car again. I have to say I don't like the redesign as much.
Love the Taurus
I do love my 94 Taurus, sure it had its problems, but being handy under the hood, I could fix it all. That's about the best thing about the car, easy to fix. Every sensor is easy to get to, the radiator went on it a few weeks ago and I changed it out easily, as well. As fo looks, the older, original Taurus is stately and a very attractive car.
Every problem imaginable.
I've had to put $1400 into this car since buying it 7 months ago. That's almost more than it's worth, but I kept putting more into it thinking each time that it would be the last repair necessary and that I didn't want to "lose" the money I'd already invested to repair it previously. The suspension system broke and the spring attached to the front tire snapped in half as I was driving down the highway. I had to replace the whole suspension system. The transmission jerks, the electrical system is buggy, and I've had more problems with this car than any other I've ever owned.
Great Ride
A "Sleeper". For sure. Not bad from the lights either. I like to see the looks from muscle car drivers, when I do a gotcha on them at the lights. Just getting ready to do a 60,000 mile service along with upgraded exhaust system (reads more power) and a few other goodies, looking for about 35 40 hp. Increase (reads more fun).
Fun car, but you pay for it
Overall I really enjoy this car. It is a low 15 second/high 14 second 1/4 mile 4 door sedan, not the fastest out there, but quick enough to surprise most people. It handles well in the corners, too. Unfortunately, it is very high maintenance, things break often, they are hard to find, and expensive when you do find them. There are also very few mechanics who can work on this car properly, so you'd better learn to do it yourself.
