Midsize for the price of a compact!
Hi, this review is one month of ownership of my used 2019 Fusion Hybrid SE. I was looking at used compact sedans after 9 years with my Ford Escape. I narrowed it down to a VW Jetta, but didn't quite feel like it was the one. I found my Fusion on Edmunds for only $1500 more and it was the hybrid!. The SE is one step up from the base, but after driving a 2010 car for so long the tech and features are amazing: Both front seats are powered, Keyless Ignition, Blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, electric parking brake, back camera, full color instrument displays, auto climate control, SYNC 3 works so much better than SYNC in the old Escape did, factory navigation, Android Auto, the combination key code thing on the door (I like that feature a lot), remote stop/start/locking if you use the Ford Pass app on your phone. The only feature I wish the SE had that higher trims have is keyless entry. You need to use the fob, keypad, or your phone to get in. Same for locking it. Being the SE it has cloth seats which I find very comfortable. As soon as I sat in my Fusion I knew I'd get it. I got a white car with black interior it looks good and is very comfortable. This is my 1st hybrid vehicle. It drives great; smooth (runs on just the battery while coasting), enough power for everyday driving, freeway merging. After all the years in my SUV the long low Fusion feels more stable and rides better over bumps. I love that when you come to stop light it just turns off the gas engine. No idling wasting gas. Obviously all the accessories/climate work, they are driven electrically. My trips to the gas station and how much fuel I buy has gone way down! 10-11 gallons gets me 400 miles. In normal use that's over 2 weeks driving for me. Being a hybrid take the time to learn all the functions of the gauges. The car will let you know when it's running as an EV and how good you are at using the brakes to generate power and recharge the battery. The gas engine on/off transitions are smooth. I get 39mpg I live in a hilly suburban area. In a traditional grid/low speed city you should get over 40mpg easily. The only penalty of getting the hybrid over the standard gas Fusion or other sedan is the reduced trunk space and no spare tire (looks like one would fit though) the hybrid battery makes a little shelf in the trunk about level with the rear seats when folded. Day to day doesn't impact me. Grocery runs are fine. One thing really nice is the trunk lid is very light compared to a hatchback with window glass. The only other negative is not the fault of the car, but me. I've scrapped it (very minor) on a curb when parking. It's lower than my Escape so I've got to be more careful. Just mentioning this in case you're switching from and SUV or truck to a sedan. **** Hi just an update: Pleasantly surprised that with the seats folded down I can actually fit my bicycle in the car once I remove the front wheel. Same as my previous SUV. Unless you routinely haul large boxy things don't let the hybrid trunk stop you! **** Overall: Love it.

Best Car Ever!!
Update: This baby now has 193k miles and it still looks good and runs great. Had to replace the speed sensor, which only cost $180. I've been a car guy for 40+ years and have owned all kinds of cars, but this 2019 Ford Fusion Hybrid has impressed me the most. I absolutely LOVE THIS CAR!! Beautiful and timeless styling, handsome interior. With over 182K trouble free miles, I couldn't be happier. Great handling, smooth ride and a quiet & comfortable interior makes it an ideal choice. And a lifetime 48 MPG is icing on the cake! Ford division in Europe designed this Ford Fusion/Mondeo "World Car" and they're still making them, look up the new 2022-23 models. Wish Ford would bring them back to US.

This hybrid gets super great mileage per gallon!
My Ford Fusion Hybrid had great miles per gallon averaging 55! It taught me how to drive more efficiently. It handled smoothly in all types of weather. I was very comfortable and had many great safety features.
Buying a Fusion Hybrid Again
I have driven a Fusion Hybrid since 2010 when I bought it. I love it and have never had any trouble with it. But I recently had an accident where I rear-ended a large SUV. I was not hurt at all in the collision which verifies the Fusion's safety. Sadly, the insurance company totaled it. I looked at the 2019 Fusion Hybrid and was exceptionally impressed again. So I'm buying another one and looking forward to even more standard safety features!
