Great Little Vehicle

I have had my Focus about a month now and like it better every day. Handling is great - surprisingly comfortable and more room than might be expected from this sharp looking small vehicle. The mileage hasen't gotten up yet but I know it will. Planning on a fairly long trip with this car shortly and really looking forward to it.

Won't buy a Ford again

Bought my car new and was fine until after I passed the "Lemon Law" limit. I only have 61000 miles on my car. I've had nothing but problems with my car! In the shop constantly. Transmission went out, had radio replaced 6 times, now have an after market radio paid for by Ford, alternator and cellunoid went out, blower motor went out, mold in my A/C x 2 and getting poorer gas mileage. It makes the weirdest noises that my local dealer can't always find the cure for. Never did get the gas mileage it claimed to get. I purchased the extended warranty and was so glad I did! I'd be in the "Poor House" now if I hadn't.

This car is a nice looking car but it seems that every 1000 miles or so something breaks down on it. At 600 yes 600 miles i needed a new trans. at 1500 i needed a new electrical system and to this day it still isnt fixed. The handling in the snow sucks. I would not buy another one of these ever again!!!!

Focusing on Quality-Where is it?

At crusing speeds, there is an electrical problem which causes the vehicle to stall whenever I turn on the lights or flick the high beams back and forth. It's been the shop twice to trace the problem to no avail. While I had the vehicle in the shop for the first service, some grease monkey backed into it damaging the rear bumper. They had the vehicle in the shop for 19 days in January. Whenever I flick the windshield washers, I get a strong smell inside the cabin of antifreeze. They've replaced one piece and it still occurs. The drivers seat has a loose piece. They've also replaced the outside rubber on the driver's side door and the car alarm.

Personal thoughts of my first new car

Fun to drive with its sharp cornering abilities, handles better than some all wheel drive vehicles in the snow and on the ice. It's low to the ground for superb handling. Will hold very well in cold conditions.
