Used 2001 Ford Focus Consumer Reviews
Problematic Car
The only reason we bought this car was because it was 0% interest. There have been many parts replaced because the metal used was cheap. It's been in the shop every year since we've had it. I am not happy with this car. The extended warranty only covered 1 part any time we've had problems. The warranty seemed to do nothing for us. The ignition and fuel are the biggest problems. It's loud from the noise outside especially on highways. There isn't much leg room in the back seats. The stereo system is TERRIBLE. We replaced our ignition and key 3 times! Loud muffler. This is a noisy, break down car. I'd suggest against getting one. Ford never helped me at all with any problems.
I love my focus!
I used to owe an escort, and the difference with my new focus is night and day. I look forward to driving my car everyday......i'm still in love with my car, that's what buying a car should feel like......wouldn't trade it for the world!

No Complaints
This car is very reliable; a couple minor recalls; no breakdowns. Fuel usage consistently 33 MPG combined city/highway even split.
Brian's Focus
The Focus gets great gas mileage. As far the interior of the car I think it's cheap and does not wear well. The engine is great, the A/C is no good; it stopped working after a year and half. Have never had problems with tire wear. I had gotten 55,000 on the first set and are only on my 2nd set. As of now, I would most likely not buy another Ford product when I do go to get a new car.
01 Focus a standout but for 2 things
A car that is very pleasant to look and a solid and reliable driving experience with 89,000 miles. Easy to find instrument controls and nice high seating view. Heater and a/c strong and reliable. Quiet engine. The downside - key lock failed at 85,000 miles. It was bad - caught in a mall ($230). Ford never said it was bad and they knew it. Steering rack ($300) at 85,000 miles.
