i have had nothing but problems with the squeaky breaks since the first week of buying this car.i have had several sets of these put in. i have had to have a oxygen sensor put in and just this week have put a new battery and had my alternator redone. i wish i could say it is fixed but no,i find out now that there is a break somewhere that the fire isn't getting back and forth from the alternator to the battery. needless to say the car is now running on the battery only. so now what? help!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Good things -Exellente Handling -Confortable -Great Sound -Very Good Space in front, i'm 6.6 tall The Bad things -Regular Quality on interiors -Engine is not so good, very good power at the start (Brand New), but the car lost a lot of power with the A/C on, especially if you live in places with very high temperatures (115-120 F), -Fuel Cosumption, Regular -a litle bit noisy on the high ways The Ugly thing -just 2 years and a half with the car and i dont whant it any more

I love my focus. I bought it used with 9000 miles and it is now at 36000 have had no major problems and only minor things that where covered ie: spark plug wires and a belt. Take care of this care and it will take care of you. I do all my oil changes and follow the maintance schedule to a T. The best car I've owned.

2001 Ford Focus SE 4dr Wagon (2.0L 4cyl 4A)

I had a Sedan in Europe so I thought I knew what I was getting. I wanted more room, so bought the Wagon here in US. I have the same engine as I had in UK, but milage is much worse [current: 22 town/26 road] and power is less. Ford mechanics can't give me any reason - I assume it has to do with emission control tuning of the engine. Road noise is there, but for this price it is low [lot less than my Ranger Truck!]. Fun to drive, but here in TX I expect to be crushed by a Hummer2 any day now.

I've had my Focus for 5 years. I bought it w/over 50,000 miles on it. W/in 45 days the engine blew. It makes a loud rattling sound, it shakes, the brakes always squeak & the front passenger seat belt has never worked. It's a very small car inside; very uncomfortable to drive. For being such a small car, it doesn’t get good mileage. The engine now has about 100,000 miles on it & the vehicle has about 172,000 miles. It has lasted me a long time for being a “Ford” but I have also had to put a lot of money into it for various things. It now needs a new Cadillac converter & water bottle. It would make an ok car for someone w/o children. But is not recommended for a tall person.
