Used 2011 Ford Fiesta Hatchback Consumer Reviews
Go with the Honda Fit
I am looking for a commuting car that can eventually be a hand-me-down. I just test drove both the fiesta and the honda fit with my 13 year old son - manual trans for both as I think it is needed on these small cars. After looking at the write-ups that made the fiesta sound great, I thought I would put it to the test. my son and I both thought the fit sport won hands down based on driving impressions and comfort. the fiesta needed to be jump started and smelled afterwards like clutch and brake - could be new car break in, definitely not me because I drive awesome - ha. At 5,000 rpm, it felt like it was going to blow. For die hard ford fans consider the focus - rebates are attractive.

I was in the market for C size car but decided to give the Fiesta a go. After test driving I knew I was going to buy one. No longer does "cheap featureless small American car" have to go together. Acceleration is more than adequate. Braking and handling is great, quite a bit better than expected. I have little need for cargo space, but I could see how others may be turned off by the fact the seats don't fold flat. This is a well rounded car that small tweaks will make it even better. I don't recommend this car in city stop and go, fuel mileage will be at the bottom of the range and it is rough if you just try to roll. If you do anything else (I live in a suburban/rural area, it's great)

Fiesta everything I expected
I've been watching the development of the North American Ford Fiesta for some time now. Europeans love Fiestas, and they are a tough customer to please. They have many fine sub compacts to choose from and the Fiesta leads the pack. I was afraid the Fiesta might suffer in translation to America, but it didn't. There is nothing about this vehicle that I find fault with. Yes, some accommodation must be made for it's small size, but the front-seat passengers will find it as comfortable as almost any other car of any type. The same is true of its super-efficient engine. It's not a Mustang, but it will keep up with traffic just fine. The better than advertised mileage I'm getting is a big plus.
Small surprise, makes the Fit feel crass
I wanted something more refined but still fun, so traded my Fit Sport for a 2008 Accord EX Coupe when they came out. After 2 1/2 years I decided I really didn't like bigger cars, but didn't want to give up the comfort and features I'm used to. The Fiesta SES fits the bill perfectly. It's amazingly refined for a small car. It's QUIETER than my Accord was. It also has the magic mix of fun and frugal. In my 5-speed, it's not fast in hard numbers, but always feels willing and able, never slow, and the engine stays smooth when revved hard. Handling is excellent. I was surprised by the grip and agility this car has, along with feel-some steering. Interior lighting package is really cool.

I have been in ownership of my car for almost a month now, and have only had one problem so far. It had the dreaded oil leak, and was put out of commission for three days, but after that, it has been a perfect ride. The interior is really quiet, especially for the vehicles in this class. The only real niggle I have with it, is that at 70 MPH the RPM are at 2,700 which seem a little high, since it is a 6-speed DCT.
