Ford tough - if you don't use the aluminum bed

I rented a ford truck to carry some material and dropped a toolbox by accident into the bed, puncturing a hole. I had to pay for it and it cost me over $1000. Unfortunately, this happens a lot as now I see Chevrolet is doing a test it is advertising that its steel bed holds up while Ford's can no longer do the same. So you get better gas mileage in the Ford but if you make a mistake a drop a moderately heavy item in the bed, you will have a hole in the floor. Much nicer than the GM garbage!!!

I bought a 2016 XLT in early March 23k on the clock. 5.0 coyote V8. The test drive pretty much sold me because the power and torque of this motor blows the GM 5.3 to the curb!!!! Hands down this truck will out tow and out carry any half ton GM. This is a truck!! Gas mileage is awesome at a average of 18.8 dailey. Highway is 24 ..... Never got this in my chevy ever!! The ford rides better and interior is much nicer than chevy. Only glicth I have seen is sometimes you have to reset the stereo by turning key on and off 3 times hey no big deal once I learned this. All vehicles have something right ? Overall at this time I will buy the ford over GM for sure and I was raised in a ford family. The GM trucks used to be good a while back but go look at how many bad ones exist out there. My 2017 Silverado was taken back on the lemon law 1 year ago it was garbage! One more thing for you readers my truck is a XLT V8 regular cab ...edmunds doesnt list it here for some reason but I will take the V8 over the turbo motors because many have said down the road those turbo motors may fail?? UPDATE: The best truck I have owned probably in my life. Smooth shifting high power coyote V8 . Good on gas if you can stop playing with the power ? About 18 on average but on the highway I could get 23. Rides like a truck but interior was very nice I no longer own it now but sure do miss it Edmunds doesnt list my model XLT 8 ft. Box regular cab with coyote 5.0 V8 I would highly recommend this motor over the ecoboost.

About 52k miles in, only problems I've noticed are slight electrical issues that don't cause too much trouble. The truck is fast, and gets decent gas mileage. I just hope it will last another 50k
