We moved to the mountians and after the first snow it was obvious that I needed a 4 X 4. We got the SuperCrew for the kids, the tow package for the trailers and I have always needed a truck. So far it has been great. Tows a 24 ft travel trailer like it is not there. Unlike some truck I have seen on the road, the body angle does not change when loaded. Comfortable and reliable. I would take a 6 speed trans but other than that the pick up is good, stable on/off road, high spped or low. It just goes. I got to work every day for the last two winter with no chains and last year we had 60 inches of snow in one storm.

Update 20210729 161k on the truck and still no issues… runs like a champ and needs only exhaust work done to patch holes rusting into the system UPDATE 20210116 158k on this ole boy and only general Mx completed since last review. This includes rear diff oil swap, coolant flush and brake change. Still purrs like a kitten and have used and abused this truck daily with no hesitation from the vehicle at all and would highly reccomend if you intend to bulletproof the block and keep up on Mx. Purchased this truck in Dec. 2018 with 146k on it. when purchased cam phasers were already going out and dealer replaced free of charge. after a snowstorm noticed 4wd was also out. dealer went 1/2 on the fix and we also purchased a remote start. After fixes, this thing runs really smooth and has plenty of towing abilities and cargo space to suit our family needs. This truck is an FX4 but also has a 2in lift, and Air Lift suspension, cold air intake and straight-piped exhaust with a few other features someone took the time to install on the truck from the factory. Once we finally had it home went through and did a small tune-up (plugs, belts, synthetic oil) to it and it runs way better. I intend to go through more in-depth once it warms up and swap all the fluids. Gas mileage is what's to be expected of a vehicle of this type and it has enough pickup to feel adequate and features to match. Offroad capabilities are really good with oversized wheels and tires and a 4wd system that works. Would recommend if you plan on having the phasers replaced and take care of it! Update Have had this for over a year and put next to no miles on it. Has started reliably every time though and driven in some nasty conditions without getting stuck or showing signs of giving out. Has been a great home depot runner for building materials and towing. Only thing I have notice is the rasio may be going out. Common for a vehicle of this age and intend on replacing it.

I love my truck, rides great. Love the Navigation system, back up camera,Sound system. heated seats & mirrors. Love the leather seats. Only problem that I have with my f-150 King Ranch 4x4 truck is fuel mileage could be better. I get 11 mpg around town and 17-18 mpg on the road. I have owned Ford products all my life. You can always trust ford for making great cars and trucks.

I bought my truck in 2010 and now it has 91k miles. All the maintenance has been done including changing out the spark plugs 10k in advance of the maintenance manual. I also changed out the differential fluids, transmission and coolant all before 75k including all the brakes and rotors. The truck is phenomenal on the highway. It’s as if I’m driving a big sedan. I’m using General Grabbers UHX 275/55/20 with 10 in rims, tires are rated at HR and provide a noise less environment while firmly gripping the road and corners. I’m suprised how much torque and speed there is on my truck at mid and high range.mits so easy to push past 100mph on the interstate without knowing it. The speed limiter will kick in however. I’ve gone cross country twice in it and it was fault less. The FX Leather interior is still superb and supple...I make sure the leather is always conditioned. The Heat and sunlight will crack the seats quickly. My first bulb failure occurred just recently..it was the fog lamp. Otherwise, as long as you wash off the mud and debris under the truck and fenders, stay on the maintenance schedule, give it good oil and TLC this baby should last till 200k.
