not bad so far
I just now started driving the truck so far so good. lots of room and nace looks. when you punch it its slow as ever with the 5.4L. I love the deep bed and looks. I never owned a ford so idk what to expect. its deffantaly not a race truck.
Pig On Gas
I bought this truck in Feb 05. I like everything about it. Great looks, style, ride and comfort. However the gas mileage is terrible. It's rated @ 15 city and 19 hwy. I got an average between 12 and 13 mpg until summer and using the A/C. I now average 11 to 11.5. Living in South FL with high gas prices this was a terrible choice for me. If fuel economy is a concern don't buy this truck. If style, ride and comfort are whats most important this is the truck to buy. I'm trading it in this weekend for a Honda CR-V and 24 mpg.

Almost got it right!!!
Had to have one based on interior and exterior styling. It's replacing a Chevy Avalanche. Ford is always 50Hp shy of Chevy and the new F150 is no exception. The 5.4L3V Triton does not feel like a 300Hp motor. Throttle response is sluggish. Bottom end and midrange feel good but the engine has no top end and there's a 5k rev limiter. Whoopie, 80% of the torque is at 1000RPM. If I want a heavy tow vehicle, I'll buy an F350.
2004 F150 Supercrew Lariat 4X4
I've just turned 1,500 miles and so far the ownership experience has been great. I've owned many Fords in the past; the new F150 is a real improvement. Kudos to Ford. If they can put this little "porker" on a diet, they will have a real hit on their hands. The car is built solid, with no interior rattles.
Exceeded My High Expectations
What a treat is has been to own (lease) this vehicle thus far. Forgiving Ford design features (superb drivability, easy to use controls) combined with built from brick structure and high quality (Mercedes levels if not BMW) materials and thorough assembly. Its like a huge Mazda Rx8 in that it feels special and sporty with the ability to haul virtually anything a suburban household needs...Don't let the reports of underachieving engine steer you away, as typical with Ford Modular V8's it takes some miles before it performs as mine now feels like it has an actual 300 hp.
