Used 2016 Ford Edge Consumer Reviews
FYI: Don’t make this mistake
The engine failed at 55K miles. I am told this is a known problem with the turbo engine of the 2016 Edge, as well as recent models. Thank goodness we have extended warranty, but this may get us a rebuilt engine - not a new one. And either will be the same turbo model with the same problem. I’m looking around to trade this in but everyone is afraid of it. I understand. I AM too. There have been minor problems too, e.g. wipers, navigation, Bluetooth and rear foot-controlled hatch. And yes, we still owe on the darn thing. I had hoped they would give us a new car since Ford knew of this problem when we purchased it in Nov of 2016. We’ve had to cancel our vacation (I don’t trust the 100K Fusion I was lent) and out of town trips to my husband’s doctors (cancer patient). Please warn others. AND PLEASE DON’T ENTER ME IN THE CONTEST.

Total piece of garbage
I've been driving Ford products for 35 plus years years by far this is the worst car I've own. I always said I will purchase nothing but a ford. After owing this edge I will purchase anything but a ford. Ford will not stand behind what they build. Still have issues with the handling with no resolve. I now have moisture forming in the tail light also large water droplets inside the tail light.s Ford will not cover this under their warranty. I've been told by the dealership this is an ongoing problem and the cost could run $3000.00 With no guarantee the new lights will not have the same issue. Paint issues bumper and hood and fender alignment is terrible. Ford will only cover the work needed on the hood. The fuel rating is 28 on the highway if I drive at 55 to 60 mph I may get 23 mpg at 70 it's under 20. Also have issues with the sync works when it feels like it. Ford will do nothing to resolve the problems. Stay away from the Edge and Ford they just don't care about their customer or the product they build. If I could rate this with less than a 1 star I would give it a negative 10 total garbage.

Pleased with the purchase
I bought my 2016 Edge SEL last month. I elected to get the 3.5L V6 and really enjoy the acceleration it offers. I'm still on my second tank of gas and I am getting 21.7 MPG in a mostly rural setting. I haven't had the car out on the highway yet. The ride is good and the drivers seat is quite comfortable. Visibility is good except for the back right side- there is a large blind spot there. The stereo is average; I got sync3 and found it easy to use. I'm not crazy about the voice activated commands so I probably won't use them too much. The all season floor mats are a joke. Save your money and buy WeatherTech mats! Option I wish I had-the 2.7L ecoboost! I didn't want to spring the extra cash for the sport version.

Edgie
All well except a lot of wind noise at highway speeds, a clicking noise somewhere while driving. Well rounded suv. Hard to beat in that price range.

Never Ever!
Do not buy a Ford Edge! I purchased a brand new 2016 titanium. I have had really used cars with less trouble and maintenance cost. First thing- The battery went out quickly. I replaced it. The next thing- TSB, cracked flex plate. Who knew this was a thing, besides Ford? If you are out of warranty they don't want to fix it even though they know it is a manufacturing issue. It can cost 6-10k to fix depending on how much damage was done. Luckily- I was in warranty. However, it didn't stop the dealership from giving me the run around. They still charged a $150 diagnostics fee even though the quick lube guy said exactly what it was and he wasn't going to touch the car until it went to the service department. It took six weeks to fix. My car has been out of the shop for the flex plate issue for approximately six weeks. I now have 64k miles on it. The did not put the skid plate back on correctly, missing and mismatched bolts. That is hanging loose. On top of that, I now have a rubbing, bumping something when I reverse. I am waiting for the dealership to come back with the issue, the fix and the prices. Overall, this is a really horrible car under the hood. It looks good. The technology is nice. However, unless you are a Ford mechanic don't do it.
