Used 2016 Ford Edge Consumer Reviews
Love My Edge
I shopped for a few SUV's, tested Escape and Honda CRV and both were too small for me. Then I tested the Ford Edge Titanium with all the options and it felt the perfect size for me. I even started out wanting the V-6 engine and tested both the V-6 and 4 cylinder EcoBoost and decided on the EcoBoost because the power was there and the MPG was higher than the V-6. The EcoBoost engine is so quite and has great power so I decided to go with that plus its the standard engine and the V-6 is a option over $600.00. I bought the Titanium Model with the Tech Package and 20 inch Wheel upgrade package and it has the new Sync 3 which is great. I think if you are looking at a Mid Size SUV you need to look and drive a Ford Edge.

Major manufacturing defects
I have happily owned my 2016 Ford Edge Titanium 4WD since March 2017 when I bought it directly from the dealership with 7 miles on it. It should be noted that I was in a wreck and totaled my used 2015 Ford Edge Titanium after only owning for a year.. I loved it enough to buy the exact same car again (but in a different color at least). I had minor issues with the first Edge, tail lights holding condensation inside, a weather strip that would not stay on by the sun roof that would fly off in the car wash, but nothing like the problems I've had with my 2016 Edge. I am taking now for the second time with a year for MAJOR engine work at ~80k miles. The first occasion was after vicious rumbling that $300 work of work couldn't solve. After throwing a new serpentine belt tensioner at it, I was told it was within the engine and needed to go back to Ford. Turns out it was a cracked flywheel. 3 weeks in the shop and over $2k of work later and it's fixed..... for a bit. Now 8 months later and after $600 worth of engine tune up I'm told it has to be returned to the dealership yet again. This time for a TBD cracked cylinder or blown head gasket. My car continues to get the error "misfire on the first cyclinder". I have loved my Edge inside and out but it seems Ford can't get the most important piece correct -the engine. If I wasn't upside down in it between trade in value and remaining car loan I'd get rid of this thing in a heart beat and leave Ford in the dust. If you're determined to buy Ford -BUY THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. I'm proof that you WILL need it. Thanks for the lemon Ford. I'll continue trying to make lemonade out of my 2 year old car for the next few years until I can off load this hunk of expense JUNK.

Best keeper in 35 years and after 18 cars
Over 4 years and 100000 miles: a. 2016 edge is a vast improvement over the 2014 model I traded. b. 4cylinder turbo is much smoother than the regular v6. c. With Michelin tires it is definitely quiet. My friend owns 2018 Lexus RX350 made the comment. She was very impressed with the ride quality. d. Had adoptive steering warning but disappeared after a couple years. I suspect it was a software bug. e. 24-25 averaged MPG. 28-30 MPG on highway. f. Brake system is very responsive. lasted 100000 miles with my driving habit. g. Wonderful frontal collision warning (audio and visual) h. Only repair was a broken water pump. i. Plenty trunk space, even for a Magic Chef 10.1 cf refrigerator bought at Home Depot. Last but not least, I used only full synthetic oil every 8000 miles to keep the engine running smooth and quiet.
Quality not cost
This crossover feels more expensive than it was. Leather interior is top notch, large comfortable seats all around. The new sync 3 system is very intuitive and easy to use, navigation works like a charm. 4cyl engine is sufficient enough this a family car not a race car folks. Handles well and we are really enjoying this vehicle.....highly recommend it.

Not happy
Have a few issues but Ford is working on them. Dealership is doing everything they can. Hopefully will be resolved soon. Updated: Bought the Edge on February 12, 2016. Had it back to the dealer several times within a year. Turn signals don't always click. Had to be towed to the dealer for a new battery at 6 months. A couple of months later, all the lights relating to the braking system came on and all the alarms for them went off. Had to turn it off and restart to make it quit. In February of 2017, the air conditioner came back on 3 times after turning it off. Contacted Ford. They won't do ANYTHING about it...it's "over a year old". First and LAST Ford for me!! Funny I should get a request to update this review. Still have the same issue with the turn signals and now I’ve gotten a message on my screen that says it’s shutting down system to save battery power. Ford still can’t find anything. Worst mistake I’ve ever made with a car.
