Bought a 2013 American Value Package new. Have owned for 3+ years and put about 55k miles on. Car has been fantastic. It is used by my wife to haul kiddos around and it has plenty of room and can take the abuse that kids can cause. Was the most affordable vehicle on the market. Other than normal maintenance, we have only had one trip to the dealer which was a minor issue covered under warranty UPDATE -- I have now had the Journey for 5 1/2 years and am up to 102,000 miles. All of my prior comments are still accurate. The vehicle has been extremely reliable and we have had no expenses other than routine maintenance expenses. The car has worn well, despite the fact that it is usually transporting kids and all that comes along with kids. Would buy another one.

My wife and I were at the dealer looking to buy a specific 2013 Grand Cherokee. The one we were looking at was out for a test drive, and I saw this grey sporty looking Journey SXT with black rims and all around tints. I saw the engine size being 2.4L, but also realized the purchase price was much lower than the GC we were looking at, plus it had several more technology features and we live in the city so engine size is not a huge factor. We decided to give the car a go and seeing how we desperately need to get a replacement for our Grand Prix GTP and also considering how we enjoyed the ride, we decided to buy it. Exterior is tough and sporty. We got side swiped by a truck and not a dent was left. Everyone comments on how sporty our car looks and I've even had friends with faster cars than me say they wouldn't want to race me. The 2.4L comes with a single exhaust, which kills the sporty look. The headlights, fog lights, and front all give the car a mean edge. When you turn the lights on, it starts with the fog lights and then the headlights. Trims are nice, rims are black. Brakes are disc brakes, but I do wish they added caliper caps to even out the car. It seems that Dodge needed to get an SXT out fast and unfortunately missed out on some details that kills the mood. I'm glad they only make the SXT's in 3.6 now. Interior is nice. Cloth seats, leather on door and middle glove compartment. Plastic all around. Instrumentation contains revs and speed, with a middle computer screen to view the basic diagnostics of the car. Steering wheel is the size to fit the bigger body and keep you from blocking the odometer. The Uconnect 8.4 is a nice feature to the car. My only complaint is when it gets cold, the touchscreen stops working. In terms of space, there is enough leg room for all the passengers to spread out. I like the extra storage in all the random places, and also the canopy that covers the back. The drive is comfy. If you've ever driven in Chicago, you will notice all the potholes. You feel them, but barely. I never feel out of control with the vehicle. I have been able to drive hours on end and my passengers have all seemed to be comfortable the whole way. The sporty suspension gives for a lower ride, and allows more control in rough conditions. This is a front-wheel drive, and I've been able to maintain my composure with the car when other cars were sliding in snowy conditions. The only downside of this car is the engine. I do wish we had the 3.6, but at the time I couldn't justify spending an extra 4 grand. Looking back, it probably wouldn't have been a bad deal. My reasoning is that even though I live in the city, the smaller engine makes it extremely difficult to accelerate the weight of the car. This leads to worse fuel efficiency, which I've seen get down to 12 mpg. Not what I expected from a 2.4 at first. On the highway, I've been able to get up to 30mpg and I go at least 400 miles without refilling. Even though engine size at higher speeds is nice, acceleration is lackluster. The car pulls away at higher revs, but struggles on the lower revs. Having come from a GP GTP that had a supercharger, it is a struggle trying to speed up on the expressway. I have made due and learned my lesson on buying a smaller engine size. The engine size is not a deal breaker for me though and I will love to keep this car for several more years.

This vehicle is great for the person who wants the visual affect of having an SUV but not the SUV gas mileage or size. Excellent in the snow handles really well!

I love my Journey kids love it and they have plenty of room.I have the crew and the ride and the feel is just awesome.I traded my terrrain for this suv and I don't regret it at all.That little 4cyl on it was already starting to scream and sound like crap.Just not enough power for the trk and I got it now.
The best overlooked crossover on the Market...

Me and my wife purchased a 2013 Journey 4 cyl. about 3 weeks ago, and absolutely love it! We got it out of neccesity as we took in our 2 nephews and 1 niece, on top of our daughter, so we needed a vehicle with 3rd row seating. We don't want to spend a boat load of money, and we really didn't want to take a risk on something used. So after much research I found the Journey is the most affordable new SUV with 3rd row seating on the market. Dodge is definitely on the way up, and this vehicle doesn't disappoint with features of interior, even in a base model. It has touch screen interface, keyless entry and keyless engine start. Plenty of storage all things considered with the 3rd row.

Bought a 2013 journey 2 months ago. I traded a 4x4 for this AWD....was hesitant that I could get up my driveway in the snow (we live up a steep hill) but was pleasantly surprised at how well this did in snow. Handles great, rides well and am getting about 25 mpg. My only complaint is I have trouble getting the seat situated to be comfortable (mine doesn't have power seats). Otherwise love it.

I purchased this used 2013 Dodge Journey last September. It is the SXT with V6 engine and 6 speed automatic. This is a great riding vehicle and is very quiet inside. I used to own a Honda CRV but I replaced it with this Journey. The CRV was noisy and rode rough. The Journey is quiet, rides very smooth, and has excellent power. The V6 engine has way more acceleration then I need. I drove the car to Florida and back. This car passed 90 percent of the cars going up inclines in the mountains. On steep upgrades it out performed most of the other cars and trucks on the road. It got 26 MPG when on the freeway, and 23 MPG in the city. I don't know why so many negative reviews on this vehicle. It is the best vehicle I have every owned. It has 122.000 miles on it currently, burns no oil at all, is smooth and quiet. AC works perfectly.

**BE WARNED** My husband purchased a brand new 2014 Dodge Journey last year as a gift for me. It has turned out to be the biggest nightmare in our automobile purchasing history. The car always had a lag when stepping on the gas, but we were told that the reason was because it was a 4.0 and little power. We accepted that answer and, other then the lag, were happy with the car. When the car was approximately 4 months old the touch screen started going out and would turn black for a little under a minute before turning back on. We took it in and were told the diagnostic check found nothing wrong and there was nothing they could do since they could not tell where the problem was coming from. This started happening more and more often. Then, when the car was between 10 and 11 months old the speedometer went out of wack. The dial was reading correctly showing I was traveling at 65mph while the digital screen was showing I was traveling at 115mph. That night, on my ride home from work, the touch screen went out along with the lights. So, here I was, traveling on a dark highway by myself with no lights. I pulled over to the shoulder of the highway and turned the car off, waited a few minutes and turned it back on. When I turned it back on, it drove as normal and all the lights worked. I filled the tank with gas and continued my drive home. When I turned onto my street, my car began making a very loud knocking noise. When I stepped on the gas the noise grew louder. Luckily, I had picked up my 2 sons on the way home. My boys had to get out and push the car 3 blocks to my house since I was the only one could steer. The next morning, my husband towed the car to the dealership. The mechanics then told my husband that we had put the wrong gas in the car and destroyed the engine. My son had pumped the gas the night before and was certain he used unleaded. The attendant at the gas station was nice enough to pull the tape from the night we were there and my husband watched my son use the correct gas. When he went to the dealership to inform them he was told the mechanic said we used ethanol. My husband pointed out that all gas contains ethanol. The mechanic then stated that it SMELLED like 85% ethanol and that was what destroyed the engine. Smells like 85%? How can a regular human being smell a percentage in a liquid or gas? So, my husband asked if it had been tested. The answer was no. My car was in the shop for almost 3 weeks and I was given a rental car with no 3rd row. Mind you, we have 5 kids. For the time we were in the rental we were unable to go anywhere as a family because Dodge refused to give us a bigger rental. I've had my car back for 2 weeks now and the problems with the lights, the touch screen, and the speedometer have started again. We called corporate and were told the best they could do was 2 years of free oil changes. When we did not accept they asked us to take the car back into the dealership and they would make sure there was a rental with a 3rd row ready for us. On Saturday morning and after a 14 hour shift at work, my husband took the car in. Can anyone guess what happened next? He was told there were no rentals available. Not a single one. When he asked what would happen if the car stopped working during the weekend...he had shoulders shrugged at him and was told to call corporate. So, here we are. Stuck with this awful car because we were obviously sold a lemon and Dodge refuses to correct the situation. Please, DO NOT BUY A DODGE JOURNEY. Save yourself a whole lot of heartache and trouble. But, most importantly, don't buy a dodge journey for the safety of your family. #dontbuyadodge

Have had this one now since new. 96,000 miles on it. its in the shop at least once a month at this point. Check engine light, dash shuts out often at random times, shifts like crap to the point of wondering if you hit something when it drops into lower gear. Started out as fine vehicle.... enough space with third row as others state... once i hit the 100,000 miles and drivetrain warranty is gone, so is the car. just this week picked up the car after receiving an engine overhaul due to all 4 Camshafts going out along with all lash adjusters in the engine. at least covered under warranty of drivetrain. so goodbye junker and on to another vehicle soon....

The cloth interior is adequate. If you can get leather it's worth it. Traction in wet weather is really bad with the stock sumitomo tires. Go to a better tire. Peel off the black plastic applique on the window pillows. It looks cheap. There is paint underneath. Buy the navigation radio with back up camera. it's worth it. The 3.6L is great. Battery problems and electrical issues you will have. I am tall and the drivers seat gives me room. CHANGE the headlights to LED because the stock halogens don't light up the road enough.

OK I bought this vehicle for my wife and it has been in the shop 4 times in 5 months. 1 started on its own and ran all day in the parking lot using a tank of fuel 2 AC will come on by itself 3 doors wont unlock 4 wont start (at the dealers when they said it was ready) I took it to the dealer to be fixed and they finally just said "it must have a ghost" I ended up getting rid of the thing with only 5000 miles on it. this is my 5th Dodge that I own. 2 Durango's, 1 Ram, and a Challenger. then this thing. I called the complaint line and they just said SORRY. after spending around $100,000 total for all the Dodges I bought I thought that they would help me out.

We bought the Dodge Journey because it was a great value, it was big enough for our family of six and it got better gas mileage than a mini van. The seats are very versatile, but with all seats up, the car's blind spot doubles. The rear-most seats combined with the middle seat, block more than half of the rear window and all of the side windows. And the middle seats are difficult to return to an upright position when someone has to get out from the back. The stow bins are so shallow and small that they are practically worthless. The car seats are not the most comfortable, mainly because the headrests are too far forward. Since I have written this review, both middle-seat track systems have broken and had to be replaced. Fortunately, this has been within warranty and the rails have been fixed. I do believe that they are now easier to move back and forth. The "stow" areas are very shallow and can't hold very much, though the middle seat stows are nice for when I need to leave my purse or electronics. However, I will say that all seats go into a "down" position very nicely and I was able to fit a 17' extension ladder in the back with just a bit of the packaging intruding between the driver and passenger seats, so it has a very nice cargo capability with all the seats down. We have had very few recalls on this vehicle and no major problems with the transmission or engine at this point. We get about 22 average mpg when we don't use a/c. It drops to 18 mpg with a/c. Now that I have three teenagers, one who is a boy, the far back seat is not comfortable because there is so little leg room.

I bought this vehicle new in 2014. I bought the SE model because of the price and fuel mileage. The reliability has been great and the comfort is good. The only down sides are the fuel mileage is no better than the v6 and it's slightly under powered for a vehicle this size. Also when the 3rd row seat is up the cargo room is very small. Overall am happy with my journey. I would buy one again but would step up to the next package with the v6 and the upgraded systems.

Not sure why there are low ratings. I am a 5ft 1in female, with two children. The hight of the seats make it very easy to put the children in. The door open a full 90 degrees. I keep it as a five passager vehicle with the back row down. But love I can add two seats when needed. My car has the words, nav, heated stirring, heated seats, blue tooth, and so much more. There are four hidden compartments from stowing drinks under the floor by the middle row as a cooler, to under the front passager seat for confidential items you want out of site. All seats but the dricers fold flat for largw items .Like I said I'm in love! The only thing my car doesn't have that I'd like is an automatic life gate. Other than that I have no complaints. My husband fits more than comfortably in the back, he even love my vehicle.

This American Value Package is a deal. You get options included that cost additional from other manufactures. The car is great in the City and handles the Interstates well. I can't think of a better car with options for this price. We did not take the third row seating as it eliminates all the storage in the vehicle except for a space about the width of 1 suitcase standing on end. We are only two people and use the car to transport ourselves primarily. However, we take 2 grandchildren on occasion and need the storage behind the seating. I am not sure haw this effects the acceleration but mine get up and goes pretty good!

I just purchased the base American Value model, and don't regret it a bit. The RAV 4 and the CRV were close to being the winner, when I gave Dodge another look. I don't feel short changed at all, except I saved thousands off the sticker compared to those two. Beautiful inside and out, with great build quality. My kids love the back seats that move and recline, great for long trips. The rebates the other guys did not offer really made it a no brainer. Living in S. FL I didn't need or want a sun roof, so don't feel cheated out at all. Runs smoother than the other options, less get up and go with the 2.5, but will save on speeding tickets.

On June 1, 2014, was getting off a highway onto a ramp, stepped on brakes to slow down to ramp speed limit and then the brakes locked suddenly, and the vehicle came to an abrupt halt with the ignition still running. As expected everyone in the vehicle lurched forward. What a major scare! Have not had another incident since then. Have limited confidence in the vehicle now and am not willing to take it on long distance trips.

Things I don't like: Performance is weak. Interior is full of cheap, shiny black plastic. It's not badly designed on the inside, it's just you can tell they cut corners on the materials. Seat belts look like something from the 80s - weirdly thin and insubstantial. Odd noise coming from the engine compartment on cold start at 32k miles. Truly horrible visibility from the inside with blind spots a-plenty. Things I like: Individualistic exterior design (love it or loathe it, it's different). The seats are comfortable. Some neat storage solutions for all your family's stuff. The seven seat feature is awesome in car of this size and price range, making this car good value.

We have had our Journey for 1 year now and it is perfect for us. Compared to Terrain and Sante Fe and Rav4 when we were shopping new and used. This size (need to fit 2 vehicles in 2 car garage), options and value were our reasons we bought it new. $7000 off MSRP! Rides smooth, accelerates quickly although transmission can be clunky and/or unsure of it self at times. Gas Mileage is as advertised 16-17 city, 23-24 Hwy. Wife loves deep red metalic color.

My wife bought one of these in the early days of COVID. It had just under 99,000 KM on the odometer at the time. Overall, this automobile is a beast. Fuel economy is not the greatest however the V6 engine will get you where you need to go. I find that the transmission sometimes is slow to shift when going from 2nd gear to 3rd gear (and from 3rd gear to 2nd gear). There's plenty of room for your stuff or other passengers. We went camping once, and with the seats folded down, we put all of our camping gear as well as a bunch of firewood in the back. My wife can't get enough of the hand-free features for her mobile phone. The heated seats and heated steering wheel are also a bonus on cold winter mornings. With the usual maintenance (oil change, swapping out air filter, etc) this thing runs like a dream. Occasionally the Check Engine light appears but for some reason it goes away when the gas tank is nearly empty. The mechanic can't explain it but the car has not failed us at all. I would highly recommend this car to anyone looking for a spacious ride that can hold all your stuff or your family. We initially went looking for something smaller, like a Ford Escape, but we got a good deal on the Dodge Journey and we absolutely love it.

We have had the car for 4 years and never had any problems. Engine is really underpowered but the car provides a comfortable and silent ride. Space for the kids and luggage. Entertainment system is OK for the price, same with materials. Dodge dealership is pretty bad, unfortunately this seams to be a common trend with car sellers.

V6 plenty of power front seats ok rear seats not suitable for older adults for long periods. Averaged 21.5 mpg doing between 75 and 90. Will focus on seat comfort with next vehicle, still very happy with purchase, just finding all the faults now. Vehicle just over 5 years old no problems so far and for the money we paid for a 2 year old vehicle I couldn't be more satisfied.

This car saved my family's life. Its worth every penny. We ended up on 2 wheels and immediately went back on to 4 instead of flipping. Someone went to do a u-turn and did not look back to see if anyone was coming up on them. They turned out in front of us and we had to correct and quickly. We heard the skidding of our tires as the passenger side came up but nothing more than that thank goodness! I strongly believe our children and ourselves are ok thanks to our dodge journey!

I bought the 2013 Journey SXT brand new just under 7 years ago. The blacktop trim package was impressive, but what's that worth if the car won't last more than 7 years. The first few years were just ok. Within the first year something was somehow soaking the floor mats and filling the rear floor storage compartments. Come to find out it was a faulty hose under the steering wheel that was spraying liquid from the A/C onto the floor and me, unknowingly, when driving. There have been at least 4-5 recalls on this vehicle, including several electronic "fixes" which always seemed to cause other issues once "fixed," such as the radio now skipping channels if you drive over a bump. The steering wheel controls (radio and cruise) are all finicky and the cruise control does not maintain speed well at all. Once it hit 100,000 miles, the car began to malfunction in multiple major areas, including a faulty clock spring, ($600 part) and a broken flex wheel not 6 months later; ($1200 fix). After looking into the last two issues in particular, it seems to be a very common issue for Dodge & Chrysler vehicles. Even when one of their own dealership mechanics tell them these repairs are NOT normal wear and tear, Dodge refuses to acknowledge the flawed design and manufacturer defects in their vehicles. I will never buy another Dodge after my experience with this vehicle and the company's lack of accountability! Buyer beware on this one!!

Have had an SE for 26 months. The Good: Great Storage options, nice interior, useful third row, Bluetooth controls. The OK: Fuel mileage ( after 16,000 miles my avg MPG is 23.5). The Bad: 4 cylinder is a little underpowered, no daytime running lights standard Update (9/2019). Have had the Journey for 5 years at 77000 miles. The good. No brake problems, alignment has been good. The bad: seven recalls for various things ( none of which affected operation. ReAr hatch won’t unlock. Mileage got slightly worse at 22. 8

This car is a breeze to drive but also really has some power to it when you floor the gas pedal. I am a rideshare driver and my riders comment all the time on how comfortable, roomy, and smooth-riding my car is and my ratings have gone way up since we bought this car. Great investment, you will not be disappointed!!

This is a great value for what is offered in the way of options. However, just like every other American vehicle I've purchased, things that shouldn't break often times do. Things that have gone wrong or have broken on this less than four year old vehicle: 1. Nav/Radio 8.4 Uconnect had to be replaced at 30,000 miles, stopped working. 2. The plastic piece that covers the metal components on outside part of the front seats (driver and passenger) broke. Cheap plastic and poor design. 3. At 73,000 miles, the torque converter failed and the transmission needed to be overhauled. Vehicle had to be towed to the dealership for repair and took four days before it was returned. Good points: Everything that needed to be fixed or replaced was under factory warranty = no monetary cost to me only frustration and aggravation. If I had known that these items were going to fail/break I would have traded the vehicle in at 36,000 miles because that is the useful life of a Dodge vehicle.

Transmission is known to fail like clockwork after 4-5 years, electrical malfunctions, tires are crap, transmission can't handle V6 and gets stuck around 3-4 gear if you have to pull out fast. Power windows have a mind of their own, high beams turn on by themselves and have to pull over to shut the vehicle off and on a few times to turn them off, NO room in 3rd row even for car seats, radiator and coolant hoses and pumps failed at the 4-5 year mark and total cost was over $5000, fob fails or the journey doesn't recognize it most times, alarm system goes off by itself.

We owned 2 Dodge Journey and just purchased a 2018 We never had a problem with our 2013 and don't anticipate any issues with our new 2018. We love the Journey. As seniors, we look for dependability at a reasonable price. The Journey is our go to guy.

The absolute worst car I have ever owned. Major engine repairs starting at less than 50,000 miles. The dealership attempted to repair the vehicle 10+ times for 2 major problems with no long term success, and when we attempted to lemon law the vehicle Chrysler denied there was anything wrong. After 3 years of ownership the rear main seal was replaced 3 times, and still leaking when traded in, had lifter/cam issues 4 times and the car still made a horrible ticking noise (the dealership insisted it was normal). At 100,000 miles fuel injectors and spark plugs were replaced. At trade in 104,000 miles the transmission had began to have issues as well. This is a horrible vehicle, and Chrysler doesn't value customer service and make things right!

Loved this vehicle when I bought it. But now we are having negative thoughts. We have 45779 miles on the car we bought new. We have gone thru 2 sets of tires and now I am being told my struts are bad. One repair shop said they had a bulletin on struts and mounting bolts being faulty. Well thank you for telling us. This has been an expensive lesson. Was it covered under my warranty ... well I don't know ... we have had the car 5 years now . The struts were probably bad from the beginning but because we don't drive a lot we didn't know... Well now I know!!! Update Mar 2020 this car is a money pit and something goes wrong ,major wrong at least once a year. Now we have a electronic drain on our battery that no one can seem to stop. Hence I have to have a battery power starter in my trunk at all times and we have to drive or run our engine every day not to mention We are on our 4th battery this year . What can I do to solve this one ? I have spent over a Thousand dollars to fix this problem and have ended up with nothing solved. I am convinced that this journey is poorly designed and cheaply made and if I could I would get a new car tomorrow but we are retired and on a tight budget and we don't want any new payments so we continue to ride it out and hope nothing else happens. To date since I bought the car I have spent over 3000 on repairs , I think that's excessive for a car with 62 k miles. I drive a 1998 gmc sierra base and never have any trouble with it just put in the damn gas. Lol any Good luck if you own a Dodge Journey. You will need it.

This is my first ever vehicle review but I feel I need to share the nightmare this vehicle was. Me and my boyfriend bought this vehicle 2 years ago and it was a headache from day one. It started with tires wearing down to nothing within a few months. Brought it into the shop and found it was the rear links. Got them replaced, then within the next month needed new struts, got them replaced. We then replaced the wheel bearings twice within 6 months of each other. In between all this we of course made sure the car went in for alignments. We thought we were in the clear until yet again the back tires are 3 months old and will need to be replaced next month. Within 2 years we had to go through at least 8 sets of tires. We unfortunately bit the bullet and just traded the vehicle in early and got a more reliable and safer vehicle (which at this point is any vehicle but this one). Highway driving if there is any kind of wind the vehicle sways. Any bit of icy driving or winter condition it would slide so easily. In rain the vehicle would try to hydro plan all the time. I no longer felt safe driving to work in this vehicle. We have never had this kind of problems with our 2010 dodge journey. This vehicle is a money guzzler and unless you are prepared to fix it every few months I would recommend staying away from this vehicle altogether.

From the first day I have had problems in and out of service radio,alarm,remote start,and the TRANSMISSON has never worked right bangs, shifts terrible awd does not work right and what do you say when all you hear is the comp.doesn't show anything even though I have driven this car for 36,000 miles wish me luck filed lemon law and there willing to hear me maybe someone will listen

Make sure it was not a Rental first! Less than 3 years old and already total brake system failure. Back seat structural failure cost $1700 to replace from Dodge. Transmission jerky between gears. Generally just a terrible vehicle. UNSAFE! Headlights fool you by coming on independent of the control setting when entering the car. Then turning off when started. You'll end up driving out of a well lit parking lot at night with headlights off.

The battery will drain when it is off and then it won’t start! There are thousands of these complaints and a Chrysler can’t fix it! They also pretend that you are the one who has reported it when you call or go to the dealership. 5 Times in the dealership for repair and every time they say they can’t reproduce the issue.

1. Always use FULL synthetic, no blend. Engine blew at 150,000, alternator at 182,000. 2. i never changed brakes..no kidding, weird i did rotate tires. 3. very safe someone hit me totaled car. overall I would not purchase again.

I have owned many vehicles over the years and I still have many connections from the time I worked in the auto industry. It is now understood that all vehicles are built to last 10 years and many can go well past 300,000 k/m, but not the Dodge Journey. When my son needed a vehicle to get back and forth to college, our thought was that this 2013 Journey was perfectly priced for a student and reliable enough to get him through his college year. The issues started immediately. On his way back from college in Sept of 2019 every warning light came on, bells were ringing and the dashboard went dead (no mileage registering, speedometer stopped working), but the radio still worked, LOL. After 15 months, 3 new batteries, 2 new alternators, a new fuse box and a couple of other costly attempts, the dealership still cannot fix the problem for longer than 1 month. Now the vehicle won't start and we are told its going to be at least another $1,700 repair. Chrysler's response, "its out of warranty, you are responsible for any repairs on the vehicle" end of story. Sadly, I cannot fault the dealership, they have been professional and are just as frustrated as we are. However, after spending over $10,000 of repairs and in order to get it working again, another $1,700 plus. We are forced to walk away from the vehicle and let it go for scrap. I didn't expect much from Chrysler, but I thought they would have offered us some kind of incentive to get us into another Chrysler/Dodge vehicle to prove that they are not Lemons (I would have even listened to an offer on a Demo, New, Used, etc.). From this moment on I will tell this experience to anyone who will listen. DO NOT BUY ANY CHRYSLER VEHICLES and if you currently own a new one, sell it before the warranty expires.

I bought the 2013 dodge journey and fell in love with it but after about 300 miles on the odometer the vehicle started pulling to the right . My first thought was that the tire pressure was the cause but tire pressure was ok. Also the vehicle started riding rough and so I took it back to the dealer. 2 days later I picked up the vehicle from the dealer and according to the work order description some adjustment had been made to correct the problem. But as soon as I drove off the dealer I realized that the problem was still there only this time was not as bad as before. I bought a new vehicle to avoid going to the mechanic but ironically I'll be going back a second time already.

I have a 2013 Journey and it's the worst vehicle I've ever owned. I'm on my 3rd set of tires and 2nd set of brakes. The display screen sometimes just randomly goes black. It's virtually unreadable in the daylight and no you can't change it despite it looking like there's a setting for that. Occasionally it just decides to change the radio station for you. The paint job I paid extra for is crap and with one dink it started rusting immediately. The nicest things I can say is you won't lack for storage space in this car - it's the very best feature of this car. I hear from reviews it hasn't much changed since I bought mine - so you've been warned.

Bought the Journey SXT AWD used with 50,000 miles, we went with a dodge bc we own a Ram and never had to do anything major,the only thing the Journey had going wrong around 95,000 miles the transmission would jerk going down hills we did a filter and transmission fluid change and rear end dope,but still jerk then realized when we bought new tires for the front we were suppose to change all 4 at the same time, then jerking in the transmission went away for awhile.Mileage went on up fast forward to 305,000 it now sounds like I have Chewbacca riding along in the 3rd row🙄🙄 found out 4 days after paying her off it’s the Torque Converter and so now Eva is sitting waiting….for a new torque converter or new home

It CLUNKS when shifting into gears. Dealership says it is normal, it is just air in the lines. Has anyone else heard this? Not very happy at all with this vehicle. Ready to trade it in on a Toyota.

We are second owner of car. It has over 100,00 miles and not too many issues. We paid 14k at the time with 24k miles. Love the heated steering wheel for winter driving. More room than the Chrysler pacific we had. Great driving in the winter time. We just put in new struts. Updated per email. Still like the car. But now that grandkids are getting older. The third row seats are hard to get into and out. But still good car and great value. Also great awd in Minnesota winters. Third update by email account. Still running good. Has over 190,000 miles. Replaced the alternator. Blue tooth doesn’t work now. But just bought a cheap device to plug in for the phone to work. Now I hear they aren’t making this model anymore. Shame.

I decided to get down to 1 vehicle. Got rid of a 2012 Malibu fully loaded and a 2006 Honda Element AWD. I wanted all the comforts of the Malibu and the space and AWD of the Honda. I narrowed down between Edge and Journey. For the price (and I get supplier discount for either), the Journey gave me more bang for the buck. dealer gave me a heck of a deal on a new Black version. Not a fan until I had them paint the calipers red. Only issue was the brake switch went out on a rear taillight. It stayed on or came on for no reason. It has done well this winter. I have been very satisfied as a driver. Passengers are not as comfortable in the front passenger seat.
Shouldn't be having these problems at this mileage

Our 2013 Journey SE was purchased new. First impression: Manual seat adjustments?? Really?? It hasn't been a bad vehicle, but there is a persistent tiny oil leak from the belt side of the engine that has taken its toll on three serpentine belts. At about 120k miles there is now a coolant leak and an evaporative emissions system leak. Oh, and a coolant leak. Oh, and a transmission leak. The windshield washer no longer works. The climate control system has a mind of its own and is too high-tech for its own good. A bad ignition coil left my girlfriend and her daughter stranded. One of the decorative strips on the roof peeled off on the freeway one day, causing a huge racket as it whipped around and scared us to death. The leaks are all being fixed by a trusted local shop for about $1600. I just can't believe that at 120k miles the car isn't doing better than this. Apparently these cars have about a six-year life span.

I would say after owning 7 Dodge Chrysler vehicles this has been the most disappointing buys. We had to have the engine replaced at 100,000 miles ...30,000 more we are once again having engine problems. We love the look but this 2013 6 cylinder dodge Journey is a huge LEMON. Please run and go to a Toyota dealership...I am!
