Good fun for little coin!

I've always loved these convertibles and picked one up a 92 cheap in 2005 for my daughter to destroy while learning to drive. She didn't like it and it sat for a year at the side of the house. I started driving it instead of my V10 3/4 ton to save fuel on non truck runs. And it was fun! Junk yards abound with these and other models with common parts. I've spent idle time picking out better parts from wrecks and have basically rebuilt this car. This car is simple to work on and improve. Nobody pimps these cars out. So I am! 1 inch lowering kit, fresh stock paint, upgraded chrome, interior swap from other similar year Chrysler models, Chev Z24 16 inch rims. 225,000kms and going strong!

I bought my LeBaron used with 311,000k's on it, the car was maintained and was look after very good by the previous owner. I have done nothing to it and it works beautifully, Love the style and the 3.0L rocks and is a very high performance motor to say the least, I love it and plan to keep it for some time.

I have only had this car for about 4 months but it is the best vehicle I have owned. For being a smaller car it performs better than i imagined. I call it my little hot rod. It is in excellent condition for being 15 years old, it's amazing how solid it is.

Love the Car!

This has been a great car, heavy and sturdy, can stand outside of the car and turn the car on even starts up with no problem after months in winter storage. The car has power, my daughter raced it against a Mustang and won. This car is easy to take care of regarding maintenance, and is easy on gas usage which is very nice. The only thing that I wish it had was a drink holder. After all these years it runs great, looks great and we still have a blast driving around with the top down, that is the only way to go.

No '87 so here goes. Beautiful car, but low mileage (80000) and stuff is starting wear out with age, not use. All of it is convienece, not driveability. Love the digital speedometer, but it has problems. Not very comfy, but the seats are in immaculate condition. Very reliable, and looks very sharp. Since it is ancient, it must be treated nice, although when you wanna get up and go, just puss that gas and let the turbo do the rest.

I've had my convertable for about one year now, I travel 40 miles to work every day and then I attend night school a few towns away. This little car is so much fun to drive in the good weather or bad and I wouldn't trade it for the world. I think it's amazing that a 10 year old car would perform so well on a daily basis for me and the greatis thing of all is that I was able to get a Lebaron w/ white leather & options I couldn't afford on a new car!!

I have owned this car for 2 years and had no major problems with it. It is the only front wheel drive car that i have ever owned that does burnouts. The powerful v6 engine delivers, even with 113,000 original miles. I plan to keep this car for many more years.

Very simple to work on, parts arent to expenisive compared to other more expensive convertibles, looks just as good as a new bmw convertible, not very expensive to own or buy, little bit of muscle, not to bad on gas, reliable, not the best car for long trips due to not enough back seat leg room still bigger than most in its class

This is my third car. My second Chrysler. My first Chrysler was a 91 Sundance that was recently totaled in an accident. My uncle had been trying to sell this car to my parents for 450 but since it was for me he charged 200. I just got it and ill tell ya, I don't think I would have gone with a different car. I absolutely love this car. It's so much like my old one yet so much better even though its a year older. It's all white with red interior. It might be 17 yrs old but for an 18 yr old college student you can't ask for a better running or more fun to drive car!!! My friend is 19 yrs old and she thinks it has too much power for her because its a V6. I love the power output!

Bought GTC turbo convertible new in 1990 for pleasure/summer use only. 66,000 miles to date. Replaced head gasket at 50,000 mi.,otherwise minor repairs only (rear window motor, timing belt, muffler, etc) Original top is still good, body rust-free, AM radio died---FM still there. Car drives beautifully---actually better than ever. I now am using it as my daily driver (bought a new Miata for summer fun). Very enjoyable car, though others are better built.

The 1990 lebaron GT convertible is a sharp looking, decent riding, smooth running car BUT,you must treat it with a little TLC.Patience and mechanical bility are also required. Most ANY car will give you problems if you drive it hard or don't MAINTAIN it.If driven with respect,(it IS a touring car,NOT a race car)it will give you many miles of pleasure. However, like anything that is rewarding, you have to work at it.But this is part of the fun!To own one of these,be prepared to spend time working on it,but it will reward you many times over.Treat it well, and it will return the favor.I believe the 90 & 91 may approach collector status some day.

Has Been In My Family Since We Bought It New And Had Little Problems With It 20 Years Ago. Has Over 200Thousand Miles and Only Major Probs Were Starter, Key Ignition, Struts, Batt, AC, Radio, And Easy To Get To Gaskets. As Long As You Keep Up With Maintenance You'll Be Fine. If You Keep Your Foot Outta Gas You Get 23mpg - 29mpg And Has Medium Power. Still Does 110mph (Track) Easily Even With Blown Gaskets And Only Quart N Half Inbetween Oil Changes. Road Trip With This Car I Would Actuallly Consider It That Comfy Of A Car.

I bought my 1990 Lebaron Convertible from the original owner for $500. It had 78000 miles on it. It is a dark blue color with a blue interior and a black top. It was filthy dirty when I got it, but it cleaned up like new. other than normal maintenance items, all I've had to replace it the rear left-hand power window motor. the car runs and drives great, but is pretty slow. Still it is great fun to drive. I gave it to my 16 year old son, and am looking for another one for me. really fun little car.

My parents bought this car new almost 14 years ago, and it still runs like the day they drove it home. The engine starts right up, and the V-6 still moves it along much better than the 2003 Mustang I recently rented. Cosmetically, the car could have been built a litle better. There have always been some clunks and rattles. All in all, it's a great car. I am very pleased.

I had to add a review after reading the so-so others. I LOVE my Lebaron Convertible. The 2.5 Turbo is a fabulous platform to play with. Mine is balanced with forged pistons, new computer, exhaust, intake, cam, injectors, intercooler and extra turbo boost. It'll smoke the tires easily and I've layed down over 40 feet of rubber with it. At freeway speeds I can step on the gas and its still got plenty of power to give. It truly is a sleeper with a base of 150 hp, but you can easily add another 50 with bolt on upgrades, but you'd better hurry, not many accessories are left from MOPAR. The coolest thing though, is I've got loads of power and I can still get 25 mpg if I drive nice.

I've got a 1990 Lebaron that currently has 230,000+ miles on it! This is a car that won't quit! It's comfortable, has pretty good gas milage for its age, and it still looks good! It was passed down from my aunt, who'd received it from my grandparents, who bought it used. And for a 16 year old car, it's pretty good. I love LeBarons!

Plenty of acceleration power with the V6 EFI. I get 26 mpg with 6 cylinders. A real smooth ride at highway speeds. At purchase, 5 years ago, my LeBaron was 9 years old and had 68K miles. I have put on 90K miles. The quality of the air conditioning units is suspect. I have gone through 2 units. Three separate auto mechanics have given bad review for LeBaron A/C units. My LeBaron burns a quart of oil per week. May be just my car - it now has 150K miles. My mechanic does not know of oil burning being a common problem for LeBarons.

My '90 convertible has been a daily driver from 1989 until this month 2023, when the blown headgasket finally started causing a misfire. (Almost everything is 100% original in the engine bay) My family bought off the side of the road from the original owner in 2015. The 2.5 L is not fast by any means, but extremely hard to kill. Even on her last legs I drove her to the shop to get the motor rebuilt, up a mountain at that. I would trust an old Chryser more than anything on the road these days!

I have recently purchased a 1990 LeBaron Sedan. This car has only 53K original miles and is quite impressive. I have never been a Chrysler guy, but can honestly say this model has changed my thinking. First off I am six feet four and fit comfortably with the power seat adjusted. The interior is plush and the accoutrements are extensibly convenient. The motor has generous power with front wheel drive and decent fuel economy, (Average 21 M.P.G.) The style is streamlined and elegant with the Landau roof and Opera windows. Overall I am suprisingly enthused and ecstatic regarding my new car.

I bought this car needing a head gasket. Replaced that and the timing belt. A few months later did a complete tune up and right know i need to flush the tranny and i think it will be just about as good as new. I think its pretty good for a four cylinder and cheap tranny(no overdrive), they really should of had the four speeds with overdrive standard. But all in all its not a bad car.

I have owned my flaming red 91 Chrysler LeBaron Convertible for 13 years and still love driving this car. Over the July 4th weekend, I drove this car from Tampa to Denver (1,900 miles) in 2 days and the car performed flawlessly even though I have over 107,000 on the speedometer. At the end of this grueling trip, the engine hummed like new. I am determined to keep this little beauty another 10 years. I have a PT Cruiser but I will never give up my little convertible. What a beauty (and everything is original and still works!).

My car is now 12 years old. It is still running on its origional engine with 108,000 miles on it. I have never had any expensive repairs on it- it is definitely a diehard. This car is comfortable to ride in and easy to handle. The roads always seem smooth. This car was only used as a summer car until my winter car died and I was amazed at how well this car handles in the snow. I love this car and look like a movie star in it!!! I will be sad when it is time to get a new car, but I think I will try Chrysler's Sebring- Chrysler seems to know cars.

Bought my Le Baron used with 18000 miles in 1993. Repairs were tranny replacement at 64000, and a water pump. Needs a cable kit for rear window but Chrysler wants $70+ for a length of cable and couple of plastic spools, so getting along without that. Very good top-down car and that is reason I bought it. Decent power and gas mileage, but the seats practically on the pavement and visibility difficult without a booster - sit so low that any following vehicle will glare the rear view mirrow even with low beams. This has been a reliable car and I expect to keep it around.

In 2019, bought it new 28 years ago, 160,000 miles now and never an engine problem. Whatever the opposite of "lemon" is, this is it. Famous for coolness during the Miami Vice era. Red, the color of Marilyn Monroe's lipstick, with white interior and a beautiful white boot to cover the top when down. Original paint still beautiful (garaged) and somebody tries to buy it from me on sight about every six months. Have put 3 new tops on. Rear window motors died once, top's motor needed replacement twice. Otherwise, just normal maintenance. A future classic car, and I'm leaving it to my kid. Love this car. It's not a "car"-- it's a family member. :>

Bought this car for my two daughters who wanted "anything that the top comes off". The 92 LeBaron convertible is a beautiful classic design. Mine is white with grey interior, trunk lid luggage rack and I have added 15" alloy wheels. It looks great! Unfortunately the car has had problems with its power windows, power top motor, theft alarm, water pump and AC. Some of its due to age however, and if you have a reasonable mechanic with access to used parts, its a big convertible with lots of power.

I own 3 mopars, a '74 charger with a 440, a 2001 neon, and my daily commute, a 92 lebaron. The elctronical problems are limitless, although when working (some to most of the time) a very nice cushion to the outside world. It has get up and go, mostly due to its low end torque and light weiht (only a 3000 pound convertable, thats a skinny lass) The tranny likes to be told what gear, but still doesn't rev too much past 5650 rpm's. It's a nice all around car when working properly. It trades in power and manueverability for comfort and a topless flare.

My mom purchased this car and passed away in 2001, leaving me her car. I drove it a lot when she had it (she was 85 when she died!). My complaint is that when the top is up, visibility is blocked when turning around to check for cars approaching when merging onto the highway and paint job was not the greatest.

Car has a history of trouble with automatic transmission, digital dash, and engine. True to form my Lebaron drinks a quart of oil every 1500 miles, the dash sometimes doesn't work, and the transmission is slipping. The 25 mpg (3L V6) is good and the velour seats are cushy but handling is mediocre and styling is outdated. Original Infinity stereo and speakers have failed but it used to sound pretty good.

This car has wonderful looks and the best cd player. The ride is not to brag about. The Pickup is not the G35 but it is better then my father's Taurus yet it isn't the "91 Accord. 1992 was my lucky year, a son, Clinton elected, and a Chrysler.
