Malibu
Brakes, blower, alternator, water pump, etc. all usual problems with this model
One of my best
I've loved everything about this car. My original tires lasted the full 80,000 miles! No mechanical problems. This is definitely one of my all time favorite cars.

1998 Chevrolet Malibu LS
Transmission was replaced at 9000 miles. Rotors have warped 4 times. Glove box latch broke at around 60000 miles. Engine still running strong and has good acceleration.
The Car That Couldn't
My very first car, bought at 18 year olds. I still love this car despite it being written off last year. Purchased at 200,000 Km, had major issues all around. Crazy sounds from dash. Head gasket blew, never did it professionally fixed, I just didn't care at that point. Felt like it would stall when reversing, idle was so rough, had 2 tune-ups, nothing fixed it. Steering wheel was stiff, felt like power steering was blown. Alternator snapped off the engine mount. Right front end snapped with the control arm. Transmission kicked all the time. Daytime running lights only worked when they wanted to. Fog lights didnt work regardless of bulb change.

Front brakes get wobbly way too soon (rotors warped). Had to have rear bushings replaced twice, an ABS speed sensor went bad, and, worst of all, something like front strut mounts had to be replaced. Most of these items are things I never had to have service on with any other cars.
