Used 1998 Chevrolet Malibu Consumer Reviews
Money Pit!
Have to keep pouring money into this car although it has only 60,000 miles and is taken to a Chevy dealer for repairs. Tires, battery, alternator, ABS, steering column all worked on or replaced! AC switch doesn't work right and brakes squeak. I can't trade the car in fast in enough for a foreigh car-- the Malibu is stalling now and will be taken in again for repairs! This car is too expensive for me and causes to much stress.
The first lemon I ever bought

THe PROBLEMS: electrical system problem; brakes; power windows; the car overheated --- and with the electrical system acting weird gauges did not work the car ran hot rebuild the manifold; fam jerryrigged so it would not run hot again; replace the struts

One of my best
I've loved everything about this car. My original tires lasted the full 80,000 miles! No mechanical problems. This is definitely one of my all time favorite cars.
1998 Chevrolet Malibu LS
Transmission was replaced at 9000 miles. Rotors have warped 4 times. Glove box latch broke at around 60000 miles. Engine still running strong and has good acceleration.
