2019 Chevrolet Equinox Premier 4dr SUV AWD (2.0L 4cyl Turbo 9A)

I compared this SUV to the Cadillac XT4 and GMC Terrain Denali...I have a 2017 Terrain Denali FWD but I use to have a 2016 AWD and liked it so we got the 2019 Equinox Premier AWD as even in the rain AWD is better even living in the south as it hardly snows here the $1500 extra is worth it and in the chevy you can SWITCH it off to just FWD. The one negative comment I have is the TIRE noise we have the 19 inch japan brand tires and they have road noise. My terrain has 18 inch Michelin they are much better. We got this suv for my wife to drive around town. Price wise this dealer has all GM makes and the Chevy Equinox Premier comparing them the Cady was $7,000 higher and the GMC Terrain was about $1500 ALL had the exact same OPTIONS when we priced them out but the Chevy had $2000 more in rebates also at that time..You get a lot more for the bucks if you get the Premier with the 2.0 Turbo AWD combination. I was afraid of a 4 cyl as I always had 6 or 8 cyl but this 2.0L Turbo with 255 HP will really go and I use the Regular gas even though they "recommend " premium just to get Govt Fuel rates is why as you will get slightly less MPG with the reg but you save the 60 cent per gallon price difference The Msrp Price was $42,650 this suv was really LOADED but after Rebates at that time paid $37600 plus T,T,&T.

I'm Sold

JHugh, 12/29/2018
2019 Chevrolet Equinox LT 4dr SUV (1.5L 4cyl Turbo 6A)

I've spent months test driving vehicles, researching, and it looks like the 2019 Equinox is going to be the one. First off, I'm coming from a F-150 with a big V8, so I know what adequate power feels like. The 1.5L is perfectly adequate for accelerating; it was tested in highway merging and residential traffic conditions. Out of all the SUV's I tested it was the only one that felt like it responded as needed. The quiet engine and transmission shifting is simply the smoothest in this class. The back seats are super comfy even in the lowest trims. The only negatives for me: 1)the back cargo space is smaller than others. However, it does have a neat hidden cargo space above the spare. 2)I don't desire adaptive cruise control myself but I do believe lane assist and blind spot warning should come standard on all cars at this point without an upcharge. Technology features are superb, clear info screen and enough USB ports. I think if you cross shop and test all the SUV's in this class, you'll see what a wonderful vehicle the Equinox is.

Nothing has changed about my review below, from 3 years ago. DO NOT listen to the negative comments from the critics in car magazines and online about this Equinox. The 1.5 - 4 cylinder turbo engine is GREAT. I wanted this engine and did not want the 2.0. I was looking for an SUV that rides well and is fuel efficient. I am very happy. I am getting a lot better mileage than my last SUV. My Equinox rides very well, the seats are very comfortable, and there's plenty of room inside. I do not need the navigation system. I am using the Android Auto app on my cell and I use Waze on the screen. My 2 complaints are that I wish the warranty lasted longer than 3 years/36,000 miles & I wish they had an auto dimming rear view mirror. The flip up mirror stinks.

Great Smaller SUV

Jim, 11/06/2019
2019 Chevrolet Equinox LT 4dr SUV AWD (2.0L 4cyl Turbo 9A)
31 of 32 people found this review helpful

I have been a pickup owner for 25 years, so I was a little reluctant to buy an SUV. I bought my Equinox in Jan 2019 and couldn’t be more impressed with it. I test drove the 1.5 liter engine which felt very sluggish and underpowered. I ended up with the 2.0 liter turbo which is fantastic. Great gas mileage and more than enough power. Living in Omaha, Nebraska I chose the all wheel drive and it performs great in the snow. March 2019 I was able to drive through 18 inches of unplowed snow with no problem. The AWD can be turned off when not needed and it gives you about 1 more mpg. I’ve heard a lot about the start stop engine and have not had a problem with it. Many people want to have an on/off switch but I have gotten use to it. My main concern is how long will the starter last with the extra cycles put on it. All in all I really enjoy this SUV. I recommend it. My Equinox is an LT Cloth AWD with the 2.0 liter turbo.

First SUV, and first update...

2019 Chevrolet Equinox Premier 4dr SUV (1.6L 4cyl Turbodiesel 6A)

Update: Still enjoying the Equinox TD with nearly 7,000 miles traveled. MPGs continue to be on the remarkable side for this type of vehicle. Suburban and highway trips have yielded 43+ mpg average. First oil change and tire rotation at 6,000 miles. The interior remains comfortable and quiet in any environment. The Bose sound system is excellent. Driving characteristics are great, easy to navigate in traffic, parking lots and on Interstates. Safety sensors are very helpful in traffic. The 360 degree camera is amazing for squeezing successfully out of impossible spots. The 1.6L turbo diesel engine is definitely a little powerhouse. Gotta watch those takeoffs from a standing start. I have to continue giving this Chevy a couple of thumbs up. Original review: Needed a new wagon. These small SUVs are the new wagons, I guess. Thoroughly test drove all the small SUVs on the market. Loved the CR-V. Last on the Test Drive list was the Equinox and I have to say that my wife and I were very surprised by the ride quality, interior comfort and safety equipment. It lacks a bit of the load room that CR-V has, but the removable rear floor panel allows for bicycles to be loaded standing up inside the cargo area attached to fork mounts. That clinched the sale. Well, that and the fact that a fully optioned 2019 diesel Premier ended up costing significantly less than a CR-V Touring. The 360 degree camera is quite the aid getting in and out of tight spots. Adaptable cruise control works really well, and allows for less stressful Interstate travel. Our first trip was 1,500 miles. Equinox has very linear highway driving dynamics and is quiet. Ventilated seats are a definite plus. I give these seats an A+ for comfort. The 1.6L diesel delivered impressive efficiency with a measured 41 mpg on the trip where average speeds were 65 to 70 mph in less than perfect weather. MPG is especially good considering that we had rear seats down and the load area filled, so not traveling light. I can't comment on durability yet since our Equinox is new. If there's anything I don't like, it's the usual vulnerable interior plastic surfaces. I found an awful lot of very easily scratched interior plastic in all the small SUVs that we test drove.

Drove 2 imports for 15 years and since I own a classic 1970 Chevrolet Monte Carlo and a 2001 Tahoe I decided to give Chevy another try. I test drove 8 four seaters and a couple 6 seaters and settled on the Equinox. I got the smaller engine on a LT model because it would takes weeks to get a 2.0 in an LT. The Premier is very nice but kind of expensive for all of the gadgets. The 1.5 Turbo has good to excellent exceleration and I am use to my Tahoe that has a V8. The two imports we had were dogs on exceleration, both did 80 mph very well but getting there was a chore. The Equinox rides well and has comfortable seats but I will agree there is a lot of plastic in the interior. Electronics works well and the engine on/off is very efficient but there should be a turn off switch too. After a month an half with the new Equinox we are very pleased and would highly recommend one to all drivers.

For features and ride, well worth the price

In 2017 I leased an Equinox Premier. The car was fine, but the 2.0 liter engine was a bit sluggish. So when the lease ended, I opted for the 2019 Equinox Premier, with the 2.0 liter turbo, engine. There are no more pickup problems. The car accelerates well, better than most comparable vehicles. The ride is smooth and quiet. Gas mileage is a touch better than the 2017. Best of all, the car is fun to drive. In front wheel drive mode it corners and maneuvers well, and with the push of a button, you have the increased traction and control of all wheel drive. The convenience and driver safety features are first-rate, the nine speaker Bose sound system is phenomenal, and I get a particular kick out of the wireless smartphone charging pad. It's true that the Premier model is a little pricy, but the features are well worth the price. It's all but certain that I will buy the car when the lease ends.

The Equinox is a family favorite. My son and daughter both have 2018’s, my sister has a 2017 and I just traded in my 2012 for a 2019. It is very stylish, user friendly and extremely comfortable. Lots of leg room front and back. My 2012 was a workhorse and I NEVER had a bit of trouble or any glitches. Great value. I am an Equinox lifer!

Diesel Equinox - GM's best kept secret - Buy One!

Update September 2021. Both our our diesels continue to outperform. Our mileage is still in the 42-46MPG range on the Freeway, and we still see mixed driving ranges of 32-39MPG, well above the advertised mileage. My only disappointment is GM no longer offers this engine; no diesels like this here in the US. Update - We've had both (2) diesel Equinox's for a year and a half and they get better with time. Still averaging 38MPG for local driving, and trips are 42-46. Rain, snow or sun they have great road manners and handle well in all conditions. DEF usages is minimal, we've averaged about 8K mile to each 2.5 gallon jug. My only disappointment is that GM stopped offering the diesel on the 2020 models so I'll have to make these last a long time. We were waiting for the VW Tiguan diesel but since VW cancelled diesels in the US we immediately looked at the Diesel Equinox. We liked the first one so much we bought a 2nd one a month later. We get much better than the 28/38 MPG rating; more like 32/43 and we've even gotten 45 or 46 on long trips when we don't speed too much. In mixed driving we're averaging 34MPG where we were only getting 16 to 24 with comparable vehicles. The torque from this engine is great once you're above 15 mph. Maintenance and fuel costs are great, and we don't use much DEF either, maybe 2.5 gallons every 7-10,000 miles and it's only $11 for a 2.5 gallon jug of the good stuff if you know where to shop. We looked at all the competitors, and recently had the Honda CRV; the Honda is a good car don't get me wrong, but you cannot beat a Diesel Equinox for value, performance, ride, comfort and MPG, not to mention SPG (Smiles per Gallon). The Honda CRV was a little too small, and quick from 0-45 but lost power after that and didn't have any power to pull away from traffic on the freeway. UPDATE - We now have close to 30K miles and the only difference is the fuel mileage has improved to where we are now averaging about 38 + MPG is mixed driving, whereas we were around 34 or 35 back when we had 12K miles on it. No regrets. Only negative is it's a little slow from a dead stop to 15 or 20 mph, but once rolling you can feel the engine pull nicely with ease. If you don't watch it, on the freeway you might find yourself well above the speed limit. I've caught myself cruising at 80 - 90 mph without noticing it; it's that much of a cruiser on the freeway. Still the best small Diesel SUV value and performance vehicle on the market. If you can find a nice used one you should buy it; you'll love it.

I purchased the 170-horsepower, turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder which has to my surprise plenty of power for my needs. Extremely happy about this upgrade. I traded in my purchased GMC 2016 Terrain which was not turbo and didn't have this added power. I also find visibility and front-seat comfort to be a plus considering my size . I'm 6 ft 2. Plenty of interior room. I dont feel cramped. Gas mileage was another pleasant surprise big improvement over my last SUV where much of my driving is done locally. Handles very smooth on the road. Quiet interior ride. So far the short period time I have owned this I have been impressed. The one thing as a negative would be my Terrain had a much more elegant higher end looking interior. (they are cousins) . However I knew this going into the purchase. Was going to have to give up something to stay in a price range and size. I also got a smoother quieter ride with a stronger engine as well. Longer I own it, the more I drive it, the more I am impressed!

My wife loved this car the moment she drove it. The Turbo 2.0 is peppy!!! She is 5'2" and the multi-adjustable seat fits her short legs perfectly. I found it very peppy too- a pleasure to drive compared to the 1.5 liter engine. I'm 5'9 and the seat fit me well. I loved the safety package with cross path detection a blind spot monitoring and 8 inch color HD backup camera. Separate climate settings are great as my wife is always hot. I love the extra large sun-roof too that brings in the sun all the way to the back. The tech works flawlessly and connects with our iPhones. We bought the 2019 over the 2018 because of the extra NHSB star on side impact crashes. We are driving our infant grand daughter around and this 2019 vehicle gets 5 stars on all crash tests unlike the 2018. We have had our beautiful red Equinox a year now and are very happy with our purchase.

A Pleasure to Drive - Part 3

This is the third update of my 2019 Equinox. After approximately 37,500 miles, the Equinox drives beautifully. It has been worry free. The have been only two warranty issues that were immediately resolved - a pressure sensor on one of the tires malfunctioned at less than 1,000 miles and the actuator on the transmission failed at 32,000 miles. This has been one of the best cars I owned. This is an update. After eleven months and over 10,000 miles of worry free driving, I am even more impressed with my 2019 Equinox. It's a pleasure to drive. After three years and 31,000 miles my 2019 Equinox Premier continues to perform wonderfully. I have not had any warranty issues. The overall mileage is ranges from 24 mpg urban driving to over 32 mpg rural driving. So far, my 2019 Equinox is one of best vehicles I've purchased in the last fifty years. Our 2019 Equinox is a pleasure to drive. The 1.4 L engine has plenty of pep to handle any driving situation. After 5,400 miles of rural and urban driving, the overall mileage is 29.5 mpg. The urban mileage averages 25 mpg with rural driving easily exceeding 32 mpg. We especially appreciate the Confidence and Convenience II Package with the latest comfort and safety features. Surround vision, adaptive cruise, 8-way power seats, etc., make driving stress free. So far, our Equinox has been trouble-free. The only negative is the wide turning radius—sometimes parking can be a challenge. After fifty years of purchasing new vehicles, our 2019 Equinox Premier is the best!

Faster than a Speeding Bullet- Equinox Redline Ed

The 2.0 Turbo @ 252hp is exceptional. Very responsive, handling is superb. The Redline suspension is a little on the taunt side, but is great on smooth pavement. Handling/Steering is responsive without understeer or oversteer. Easy access for any 6ft person. Spacious entry and sized rear seats. Backup camera is a must. Visibility is good all around. Cloth heated seats are a real plus. Lots of goodies for a car at this price. The one touch opening for the rear cargo area is handy. The touch screen is large and very easy to use. Never been a Chevy fan, but this car could win me over with time.

Turbo really gives this good accelearation compared to my 2013 model. Only bad thing it requires premium gas. Update 3 years. Had to have exhaust replaced at 12,000miles. Resonator baffle broke causing laundry banging. At 20000 miles exhaust is starting to fail again . Banging noise is coming back. $1200 repair, I will have to put up with it. POOR quality. 25000 miles and right front wheel bearing going bad. Extreme clunking sound on small bumps. These cars are not built for the long haul.. 3 year throwaway.

I test drove a lot of cars and did a ton of research. I was actually leaning toward an RDX, but the infotainment issues and poor visibility made me a bit leery. I wasn’t expecting to be so blown away when I test drove the equinox. I’m surprised that some reviews say it feels cheap. It’s actually very luxurious feeling imho, and I like how you sit up in the driver’s seat. I can see out of it really well and feel very safe. I can read a window sticker, so gas mileage wasn’t a surprise. No, it’s not the most fuel efficient vehicle out there, but the power is pretty impressive. Use premium as recommended and your mpg’s will go up significantly. Everyone is different, and you should take your time and test drive a lot of cars before making such a large purchase. As for me, I LOVE it, and when you throw in the awesome price I got with employee pricing for all and additional discounts, I feel I got it for a steal. Makes me smile every time I look at it sitting in my garage.

GM knew the charge air cooler outlet air tube may be disconnected on some 2019 Equinox models but continued to sell them, thus putting customers in harms way. Within 4 weeks after buying this lemon, while traveling 70 mph on the interstate, 300 hundred miles from home, the car banged, shook and went into reduced power mode. I drove slowly to a safe area, and was towed to a Chevrolet dealer, I was told cars fixed, but it happened again twice more in the next 4 days. I had to rent a car to get home, GM had my car fixed a third time and transported vehicle back to my dealership10 days later. The brand new Equinox is sitting in the garage because I don’t feel safe driving this model. GM customer service has been terrible.

My wife and I leased a 2019 Equinox AWD with the 1.5L Turbo engine. We absolutely love this vehicle. I understand how people say it is lacking power when I compare it to something like my mom's Mercedes GLC, but honestly I have never felt the need for more power, and passing on 65 mph 2 lane county roads has been no issue. Steering is very true and tight with relatively no wind pulling issues whatsoever. On trips, we get 30 mpg with the lifetime average currently at 25.8 mpg. Every time we check the lifetime average, it seems to improve. We got this vehicle in November and idled it all winter long so the lifetime 25.8 is pretty impressive to me. I think this vehicle is going to continue to be great for our needs, and with our growing family, I foresee us buying GM products in the future. Maybe just something bigger like a Traverse or a Tahoe. For now, the Equinox is fantastic. Currently 5,282 miles.

The vehicle handles excellently. The 1.5 liter turbo engine has good pickup, and feels sporty. Instruments are easy to adapt to. The touch pad screen is handy. The interior is roomy both front and back. The only downside is that it does not come with a CD player. My wife has subscribed to satellite music instead. The fully adjustable driver's seat is excellent, an additional fully adjustable passenger seat is not on this vehicle and I wish I had purchased a vehicle that had this also.

Truly loved the car, but the workmanship was poor

I will start off by saying I do not hate the equinox, we traded our awesome 2014 in for a 2019 bsck in March. The first day things were great, loved everything about the vehicle. The second day wasn't so great, i hit the gas to pass someone and the duct from the turbo to the throttle body blew off. Took to dealer, they pushed the hose back on. 1 week went by and we started having goofy glitches with the info-tainment system where it would randomly make the ring sound, but there wasn't a call to be answered and the screen would get really hot and freeze. That same week, i went to pass someone again and the duct blew off a second time. I returned to the dealer and they kept it for a week and a half and replaced the waste gate. Fast forward another week and a half and during a family trip, I once again hit the gas to pass again and the duct blew off again. I limped the underpowered vehicle home and pushed the duct back on. The next day i was on my way to the store for ice and hit the gas to pass someone again and the duct blew off again. At this point I had lost all trust in the vehicle and would not trust it during any trip. I know the dealer would have eventually fixed the duct problem, but I literally didn't trust the car after all these incidents over a couple months. We traded this car in after 3 months for a VW. After being afforded the opportunity to drive several of Chevy's 2019 vehicles, i feel like the quality and workmanship is non existent. I am a chevy guy, but I do not support this 2019 line up.

This is my second Equinox....sold my 2106 to my son. The main reason I buy GM is the end of the year deals that they offer.....paid around 21K (around 23,500 with tax, tag, etc -. out the door) for a vehicle that listed for around 31K. My 2016 equinox had 77k miles and all I did was change the oil and filter and 1 air filter. Still had the original tires and brakes. Zero issues. My new 2019 (end of model year clearance) has the 2.0 turbo. I don't use premium fuel....seems to be no issue. Takes off like it's possessed if you hit the gas hard. (Usually don't). My fuel average is 32.5 consistently....which is actually better than my previous 2016 2.4 liter. Nine speed transmission is smooth as silk. I just can't see buying a Honda, Mazda, Nissan, or any other comparable SUV because they don't offer the end of year deals like GM does. Not even close to the price deals that GM offers. Ride is super quiet. Really impressive. This one tows 3500 lbs and comes with hideaway integrated hitch. Has towing mode.....tows really well. I'll keep buying these as long as GM keeps making them and keeps offering the super end of year deals. Sadly, GM dropped the 2.0 turbo for 2021 models on.

Do not buy this car. After my 2010 equinox had a new transmission put in. the engine blew at 60,000 miles. Should have known better than to get another but I did get a 2019 with the promise that they are so much better. After 2 months it lost power on the freeway putting our lives in danger. It has now been the dealership out of town where they are waiting for a part on back order. The dealer in Glendale apparently knew about this major engine defect but said nothing. I am so disappointed!

My husband and I bought a new 2019 Chevy Equinox 1.5T Premier AWD with all the bells and whistles. It’s great! The 1.5 turbo has a lot of pep to it to me, even though some say it does not. Prior to this, we had a 2014 Traverse LTZ, it was nice but sluggish to me, this is a big improvement! Handles great, accelerates great. Smooth, quiet ride. Interior is very nice and roomy. Overall a wonderful SUV. Will not disappoint!

If I was to buy another one, I would have it equipped with the Bosh sound system, factory radio is very lacking in quality sound system 😫😠 very poor sound, pay the extra for a better sound system 😫 original tires and brakes needed to be replaced at 25K, hood had rust after 3 years (had to be repainted even though car was undercoated. Nice ride, great performance handles excellent pleasure to drive. would recommend over many other SUV's

Have had turbo cars before nothing as slow as this, although better than a straight 4 cyl, it is not like the V6 Equinox that we had or the Mazda C7, or the 87 twin turbo Corvette. However this has a bigger feel to it and drives like a bigger SUV. Sometimes hard to get used to the starting and stopping of the engine but getting there. Right now it fits what we do.

I think Chevrolet or at least the Equinox is the Donald Trump of cars: derided by the press but lauded by many people (owners). I have a 2019 Equinox LT. I shouldn't say "I have" - it's provided by my employer. However, I picked it up in 2018 brand new. The maneuverability, ride, acceleration, and noise level are all top-notch. The performance of the 1.5L 4 cylinder is more than adequate for me. The quality of interior is excellent and is a vast improvement over Chevrolets from the previous decade. I really like the interior room for the exterior size of vehicle, and often use the split, fold down seats, that provide a huge cargo area. It shifts smoothly and effortlessly, and the AWD engages the same. Looks are subjective, but I like the modern looks without some of the design eccentricities of other brands. There are two trip odometers, which record miles and fuel efficiancy. Trip "A" I actively use and reset often. Trip "B" I have never reset, so it mirrors the mileage on the main odometer. The Trip B fuel mileage is at 32.4 mpg, which represents the efficiency from 0 to the now 59,000 miles. I do however drive conservatively and mostly highway miles, but still, I am impressed with the mileage. The only time I opened the hood was out of curiosity. I've have had 0 issues and the vehicle gets serviced at my local Chevrolet dealer. I've had nothing performed except the recommended maintenance - oil/filter and tire rotation. There have been 0 recalls to date. I am on the original tires with 6/10 tread remaining at 59,000 miles. I have been very pleased with the Chevrolet dealer. Two things I would like to see but are very minor: I'd like the arm rest/console door to be adjusting. Also, getting to the USB port, which is located in a storage area under the ventilation controls is a little difficult, but that's all I can think of. Overall, I love this Equinox! 64,000 miles with no issues 3-2-21

Absolutely love our 2019 Equinox LT. Handles well, great on gas, comfortable ride, plenty of room for light hauling. The only thorn was the automatic engine shut off. Not to worry. I found out that by simply placing the gear selector in "L" and hitting the + button up to your top gear (ours is 6), you can drive all day and the car will shift through the gears normally and never shut off until you shut it off. The Chevy Shop manager asssured me that this method will not harm the car in any way.

This is one of the best riding SUV in its category... I test drove Every model car in this class from all SUV manufacturers.. The price and the comfort did not add up.. I went to buy a Toyato SUV but the space and the comfort wasn't the same. I have always purchased new Toyatos vehicles.. My company car was an Experdition by Ford, I liked that SUV but it was too big just for me to purchase from my company.. I really like my Equinox and it only cost me $37.00 to fill up compared to $110.00...

to start off this is a company vehicle and all the oil changes have been completed every 6k miles. I am at the dealership right now having the 78,000 mile service completed. I have had the car a total of 24 months as I received the car Nov 2018. I have had no real issues as some of the things I have read online. So far the usb and usb-c ports have died which they are actually looking at now. once the infotainment screen wouldnt come on, but I just disconnected the battery for a few minutes and hooked it back up and that fixed it. there has been an intermittent thumping noise that has been going on since I received the car. it started off very very faint and over the last 2 years has increased in noise level, but not frequency. I did notice that sometimes when I take my foot off the brake after stopping at a traffic light it will do the thump. So they are looking at that today as well but seems like it may be after taking foot off the brake it releases the caliper which then allows the brake pad to fall over, which would make sense to the noise getting louder over time with the wear of the brake pad. That is still to be determined obviously as I am in the waiting room right now. I have had zero other issues which those I have listed really arent bad at all, especially with some of the things I have read online. which the only reason I have even looked at it to see what other people are seeing is I am thinking of purchasing this vehicle from the company since I just ordered my new company vehicle. So all in all outta the last 20 years of company vehicles this is the first one I have even contemplated on buying, so I am unsure if the issues people were having was with a certain timeframe of purchase as mine would have been an early release of the 2019....but mine has had no major issues as well and only a couple of annoyances.

Stay away from these vehicles equipped with Auto Stop. I own a 2019 Equinox which is equipped with this feature without any way to bypass or disable it. It is the worst feature I've ever had the displeasure of experiencing in driving a vehicle! I have parked my Equinox until I can resell it. It's 4 months old with less than 1000 miles on it. I am scared to drive it in town or where there's traffic of any kind. Chevy built a decent vehicle then ruined it with a poorly designed, non effective way to save 8ozs of gasoline per year. Shame on Chevy. This vehicle is worse than a Vega!

I’ve had my 2019 Equinox for about 1 year, 18k miles later and a good mix of city driving and several long distance road trips- the car has been flawless. It’s fun to drive, excellent handling, gets good gas mileage, very dependable and reliable. As an older adult I appreciate all the great safety features and great visibility while driving- no blind spots. This is Probably the best American vehicle I have ever owned. Great job Chevrolet!!!

I got the Equinox Premier edition. Since it's supposed to be the top of the line, I would have thought it would be better made and maybe more luxurious. The car feels like it was made of plastic. I feel like I'm driving a toy car. The surround vision is what sold me on this vehicle. However, I would definitely do more research before I buy another car. The take off is very sluggish. It's supposed to have a turbo engine but the jury is still out on that. The storage space is great! There is more than enough room to store items. The gas mileage is not that great either. That was my #1 reason in getting a new car. I don't have many positive things to say about this car. This may be a good 1st car for a teen but definitely not at this price!

I have the 1.5 ltr and recently it's been acting up. Won't shift into overdrive at higher speed. When trying to pass and accelerate it will all of a sudden start hesitating send vibrating and lose power which is not good when you're trying to pass. Took it into the dealer and they said it was some sensor in the front and ordered a cover. I highly doubt a cover is going to fix the problem. I drove it last winter and never had this issue. Not happy!

I’ve been car shopping for a few months and I like the new Chevy equinox. They had the color and model I wanted at a local dealer so I went to test drive it. I was disappointed. Chevrolet is so behind in technology. It would have been a downgrade from my 2010 Tucson, they have all the same bells and whistles only my current car has leather seats. Cheap interior on the equinox, all plastic- seats weren’t overly comfortable. It is too small of an engine for that sized vehicle, it had no giddy up. I’m going to be purchasing the new RAV4 instead.

I drive less these days and so I opted for a used vehicle with low mileage, and this was in mint condition. It was exactly what I was looking for! It's a great SUV! Everything about it is awesome! It has a ton of features that I'm loving from the heated front seats to assisted liftgate, recliner backs on the rear seats, tons of leg room for both front and back passengers, and the front passenger seat can be lifted and lowered also. Vehicle approaching symbol in both side mirrors for those blind spots, you name it, it has it! I love how the front dashboard isn't really deep either. I found that to be such a hassle when trying to clean the inside of my windshield in my other vehicles, this will be so much easier! I also love the rear wiper as I've never had one, it's great! It handles beautifully and comfortably. I look forward to taking this on the road be it short trips to the grocery store or road trips to our escape destinations! So glad we bought this!

Great value, when purchased used with low miles.

I feel that I got a great value because I was able to get a lot of the optional equipment, that aren't even offer on some of the luxury/euro suv's, for far less money. I did buy used, but with vary low miles. Most of the depreciation of a vehicle is in the first year miles, this allowed for purchasing more of the options that I enjoy. Edmunds site helps with making a more informed decision through the classes, if only for the 5 year cost. It's good to hear they are offering more the features only offered on the premier trim, for 2020, on the LT trim. Mainly speaking of the safety features standard on the 2019 premier trim. Buying 19" tires does not a equate to a smoother ride. I've had a difficult time programming memory positions for the key fob. I've only owned for about six weeks, but so far very happy with the purchase. Build your car on Edmunds site and then search for the car, it really helped me to narrow it down. Edmunds will also help with finding used vehicles in this manner.

A little bit noisy on highway... needs sound deafening. I think I will try undercoating to see if that helps. Turbo provides great response. Drives well. Looks sharp. Very competitively priced. Good value for smaller SUV.
