Used 2017 Chevrolet Colorado Crew Cab Consumer Reviews
Tight, Well-Built and Comfortable 4x4 Colorado
Having had my fill of squeaks, rattles, cheesy sound system, poor traction and brakes and a plethora of issues with a 2014 F-150 STX, I traded it on a Colorado, based on my neighbor’s experience with Chevy trucks and the need for something with more maneuverability and better gas MPG. This truck meets all that criteria and then some! I’m 6’4” and never have found better legroom (45”) or hip positioning, and this is a basic LT version with cloth seats! The highway ride is smooth and quiet, yet it lacks no utility of the F-150 save a smaller bed. Milage is running 19/28, which means it exceeds 500 miles a tank on a trip. My wife even likes to drive it, and I have no worries about parking or cutting curb corners too close. It seems Chevy has improved their quality immensely...I am truly impressed with this as a utility for my business and a trip hauler for our pleasure. The V6 does not disappoint for power and acceleration. After about 5K of driving my only complaint is the 8 speed tranny seems a bit jumpy, especially in the lower gears with little gas applied. Other than that, it’s a pretty darn amazing vehicle and quite a surprise to this previous Ford advocate.

Great truck for camping and road trips
Getting 25 mpg, the truck drives very well and is incredibly spacious. Very quiet ride but a beast offroad. Great price for a great truck.

Too many issues
'17 Colorado with transmission issues the dealer could never repair. Also the heater failed, radio/display wouldn't turn off, and lots of rattles developed. I unloaded this junk a few months ago. This is the last GM I will buy. It's clear they haven't learned how to build quality.

GM Stabilitrak System
I had a 2017 Chevy Colorado 4 cylinder turbo diesel. I owned for 4 years minus one day (september 17th 2017 to September 16th 2021). I put 34110 miles on the truck. When it had 33,950 miles an issue came up that said Stabilitrak needs servicing reduce engine power. I was stuck in holiday traffic on july 5th. I took it to the dealership. They ran a code which tells them it was the throttle pedal sensor (it was replaced). Then on August 22nd 2021 it happened for the second time on our way to church the same message as before. by the time I get it to the dealership there was no code. The final (the reason for trading it in) was on September 13th. We were on our way camping pulling our pop up trailer 35 miles from home the same message3 came up. I turned around and limped the truck back to my sister's house to drop off the trailer so I could get it home. This time there was no code. The dealership contacted GM and after a couple weeks GM got back to them telling them to replace a wiring harness. Far as I know it still has the issue and it is on the dealership's used car lot. I loved the truck until this issue happened 3 times. Suddenly it became the most unreliable pickup. The pick up does not have the 3.6 liter as it shows in the trim but it is a 4 dr crew cab 6 foot bed 4X4 Z71. with a pumpkin color.

It’s good but had a couple lssues
I have enjoyed the truck after 5 years. Does not have enough power. Transmission fluid was replaced because of known issue. Something in back started making noise and that was fixed in warranty the first time but second one I had to pay(out of warranty). Drivers door lock actuator went out and had to be replaced. Front end has a popping sound on some pumps, mechanic said it was not bad yet. 09/21/2024 it has 43,430 miles
