I got this to replace my old pickup, I think its a great car for the price. Went on a 1100 mile road trip, gas mileage ended up being 40.1 mpg on highway. I fit more than I know in the truck during my travel and performance only decreased on hills. I've had to replace the control arms and wheel bearings shortly after I got so I'm assuming the last driver drove it hard. Luckily under my warranty. The thing I'm not about is the interior quality. I replaced the stereo to allow iPod integration. The seats stain easily. I feel like I may break some pieces of plastic when I clean. Overall, I cant complain. I've put ~15,000 miles on it and its a fun car.

Better than my Japanese made Mazda

I tried the Cobalt for the price. At 45,000 no problems whatsover. Perfect? by no means. Dependable? Better than the Subaru & Mazda. True story... my son's brand new Civic had the steering column catch fire as he drove it from the showroom. I never laughed so hard as he said...Buy Japanese! The salesman turned tomato red. I laughed even harder!

I've put this car through the crash test! At 25k miles, I had experienced some brake problems...eventually, they completely failed and I had $5k of damage to fix when I rearended a car (Chevy said they didn't fail and was my fault). At 35k miles, my radio screen broke, and 14k miles later the replacement broke. I've had trouble with the key getting stuck and I can't get it out, and once couldn't get it on. Most recently though, I had a bad accident...I can say one thing - this car falls apart fast in accidents, but I walked away with minor injuries in what should have killed me...I wouldn't go chevy again due to all the problems I've had...

Cobalt is a great value, handles well, gets up and goes. Mileage is excellent. I'm over 6' and there's plenty of room for me. I love the coupe styling and there's plenty of room for my tools and materials in the trunk. Constantly surprised what I fit in there. I would buy another given a second chance.

Not bad for a daily commuter

I bought this car for my daily 75 mile round trip to work. Gas mileage and price was the #1 reason for purchasing Cobalt. In this respect, it does very well. Many people expect great things from a $12000 car, but you get what you pay for here. Interior is as cheap as I've found in almost any car, but functional. The seats can become uncomfortable if driven more than a few hours. No arm rest. Shallow cup holders. After 45000 miles of harsh MN roads, several rattles have developed including the wiring to the dome light overhead. Front wheel bearing failed at 30k CHEAP Continental tires replaced at 32k Bent front steel wheel after hitting large pot hole at 44k Rear defroster failed at 25k
