don't buy
owned this car 9 years. This is the first new car I bought off the lot. I have had nothing but problems ever since I bought this car.Rear seal replaced, differential, pins in the doors, front seat adjusting handles just break, computer, alternator, battery, gaskets and 5 yes 5 heater cores. The first 2 was covered by GM after I complained enough because the first 3 times i brought into the dealer there was a bulletin to flush the lines, which did no good, the problem ran past the extended warranty and blow out again, gm covered it. The problem came back cuz it was never fixed correctly. I know that GM/Dexcool had a class action law suite regarding Dex cool I signed up $back NEVER AGAIN GM
2000 Blazer 2WD LT
My 2000 Blazer has been a quality truck. The ride is smooth. The engine does it's job, but wouldn't mind having a trailblazer engine in it. Didn't opt for the 4WD and haven't really needed it even though I live in Chicago. Great cargo space and enjoy how the back seats fold all the way down not like other SUV's. Haven't had any repairs other than the routine maintenance. The LT package was worth the money.

Great Ride!
I've had my Trailblazer for 2 years now and put 20K miles on it. The ride has always been superior even to the Lexus RX300 that I left at the dealer. I guess the sport suspension is a must! So far I've had the battery replaced and a rear pinion seal replaced under warranty. Good vehicle for the price $25K new.
excuseme
it has been a very dependable vehile, Have not had any trouble with any of the suv's componets.
I love my Blazer
I love this SUV. I have had my Blazer for 4 years. I bought it when it had 70000 miles and now it has 141000. Just replaced heater coil @ 138000. Rotors @ 137000 and brakes. It sounds like it might have a rod knocking but only when it is really cold then the noise quits. Drives greats lots of power for a 6 cylinder. The interior is still in good shape. None of the seat problems other had talked about. Love that the back seats fold down and the tinted windows. I hope it keeps running to 300000 miles. Heater core only costs $65 but I installed it myself. Have to remove the entire dash to get to it and it's a pain to put back in, but I love the heat it puts out.
Love my Blazer!
I had spent 4 months researching and testdriving SUVs, and finally decided on a 2000 Blazer. It had 64K miles on it when I bought it, but in mint condition. It's only been a few months, but I am very happy with my purchase. No problems at all. I think I got more for my money than any other SUV. As for reliability, like I said, I have had it for only a few months, but my boyfriend has an '89 GMC Jimmy (identical twin of the Blazer) and it is still going strong. Highly recommended!
Good SUV for kids and City Dwellers
Got my 200 ZR-2 Blazer for a birthday present and I love it. Good ground clearance and a competent 4wd system has gotten me into and out of places even friends with other SUV's have not been able to go. Small and easy to park which is important to me as a city dweler. Good sound system as well. and oh-so-cool. The build quality could be better though
Good Truck
This Blazer has been solid as they come. What many fail to realize is that this is a truck, not a sports car, not a luxury car and it's not a 454 Silverado. This is a 6 cylinder small SUV. The interior is tough and designed to be rugged. The ride is pretty good. I've done a lot of off road driving and this little Blazer works well in those conditions. It also performs well during snow conditions on the highways. The gas mileage is a little less than what I'd like but I accepted that fact the day I bought it.
dont buy a gm
had this 2000 balzer 1 year. replaced oil cooling lines, rear brakes and rotors. noise from front end at 36000 turns out to be ball-joints. dealer noticed oil cooling line leak, again. GM says "sorry, its wear and tear" Northstar chevy will only charge me 384 to fix the oil line, while the guy next to me is getting his covered. same with the ball-joints. s-10's i have found have oil line and ball- joint problems that chevy just doesnt care about. do your self a favor and get a ford. oh yeah, dont think the extended warranty will help you. gm told me they couldnt verify any maintanence on my vehicle. thats because the dealer charges way to much.
Always have good luck with the Blazer
We have leased 2 Blazers...and we have been happy with them both. Comfortable and easy to drive. Rear doors swing open wide enough to get kids in and out of car seats. Plenty of space in the back for family trips with lots of luggage and the dogs.
