Classy ride
I bought my ‘09 Buick Enclave CXL a week ago and have been enjoying it immensely. The neighbor says it looks “quite classy.” It is white and grey with black rims and a black leather interior. It is fully loaded and I love the chrome trim. Fortunately the previous owners replaced the transmission plus it has newer brakes (front and back) rims and tires. It only has 187K so I am hoping our family will get years of worry free driving. Hoping the regular oil changes will prevent the timing chain from stretching. Also keeping a close eye on the temp gauge so that the water pump doesn’t fail and overheat the motor. If you can find an older low mileage Enclave that has been well maintained, get it!
Purchased new - Great car
I bought my 2009 AWD Enclave new. She has been a great car doing all I've asked over her 150,000 miles. I've hauled dogs, grandkids, lumber, bikes, you name it. The interior can be reconfigured to accommodate a lot of different load types. It has Buick's quiet tuning with thicker windshield and extra sound proofing to decrease road noise. I didn't realize how important that was to me until I drove a different make 2024 vehicle and the road noise was annoying. One might think other manufacturers would have quieted their cars down, by now. On our first trip in the Enclave, a car in the lane next to me veered into my lane causing me to swerve rapidly to avoid a collision. I was really surprised at how nicely the car responded. It was very sure-footed in that rapid, evasive maneuver. A mechanic friend riding in the backseat was pretty impressed, too. At about 98,000 miles, it was recalled for a transmission problem. The transmission was replaced under warranty. While the car was in the shop, the dealer did something with a timing chain adjuster. That was also done under warranty. All regular maintenance has been kept up to date. At about 142,000 miles, one injector coil failed. We replaced them all, thinking if one is bad the rest will probably follow. We considered that routine maintenance at that mileage. Within the last few months, the catalytic converter has been replaced and she has new tires. Oh, and I can't forget to mention how well she does in the snow, especially with new tires. I drove home (10 miles) in a "bomb cyclone" about 5 ago. Lots of cars were stranded, but I made it to within 1/2 mile of home before the road was blocked by stuck cars. I called my husband to come get me and he had to chain up the 4WD pickup to get out of our neighborhood. I walked around the blockade and we got my Enclave home a day or two later after the other cars were dug out. There are a lot of little things I like, too, like the headlights that steer around a corner, the inverter that allows you to plug in a 110v cord, the backseat console that converts to a flat surface for fast food treats with grandkids, heating and cooling seats, the ability to charge a phone from the 12v receptacle even when the car is not running, remote start and more. So, what don't I like about it? The blind spot created by the right side A-pillar is annoying. I always take a second to look right an extra time to check for both pedestrians and oncoming cars. Two, the front passenger seat doesn't adjust as much as many ways as the driver's seat. Three, the second row bucket seats are really comfortable for older kids and adults, but challenging for installing car & booster seats.

Highly Recommended Crossover
I have owned my Enclave for one year now. I am very pleased with the quality and comfort of this crossover. Buick has made a true luxury vechicle at a great price. After researching the Audi Q7, Lexus, Cadillac, Mercedes, and other fine luxury SUVs/ Crossovers, the Enclave offered the most value for all the luxury ammenities.
A vacation vehicle that works
Bought it to travel in have not been disapointed. Quiet ride deceiving in will suprise you when running 85 doesn't seem like it. Handles mountain roads well v-6 and 6 speed work well together. Interior comfortable but son thinks door decor cheesey would like wood grain to emulate steering wheel better.
Transmission Ruins Enjoyment
I bought the Enclave after two suburbans and wanted a more luxurious vehicle with better gas mileage. I have been quite disappointed on both points. The transmission shifts randomly and feels like the entire car is going to stop at times. It is currently being repaired and I plan to sell it as soon as I can get it to run better. The car makes an awful grinding noise under the hood on acceleration and in turns which I have been told is normal. I have had two people ride with me lately and ask me what is wrong with the car. The car does not leave one with a feeling of confidence or satisfaction.
